Whoever it was that said she wasn't hot you have got to be kidding me, other than that she is very clear and concise and will not hesitate to help you in class. Basically study key terms and listen to the lectures if you want to pass

I took her hybrid coarse and it is extremely easy. All of the chapter exams she gives you come straight from the book's website chapter exams. She makes class time very interesting, too.

Had her for Stats and Soc.101 Very good teacher overall. I enjoyed reading Fast Food Nation. Gives out easy quizzes if you read the book. Explains her topics well. If she gets a migraine don't ****her off. I recommend her!

I'm a 44 year old math phobe. Struggled through the class WITH tutoring to get an A. Prof was just as proud as I about grade. Hard subject for many students but she offers extra credit options and encourages use of tutors. Will assist out of class too.

This is by far the best teacher i have ever had and really enjoy her class. She is hard but offers lots of help and goes over her stuff pretty well. The material can be confusing but read and you will do good. Great teacher with a great attitude and great personality. Highly recomended.

I took it online, the class is easy, the only thing is she is very slow in grading. She does not extra credit. Test are easy if you are prepared and read the books, everything is in the book. Theres a couple of group assign. discussion board is very interesting. highly recommended

Highly recommended! I took this class online and was happy with that decision, as it was pretty easy. Professor Ballesteros always answered my questions and seemed to be very nice (although I never met her in person).

I highly recommend her! Overall, the class isn't too hard. You just gotta do the work! The material might be a tad confusing but she offers a lot of help! Might I add that she uses technology to her advantage! Great teacher! You'll definitely learn in this class!

She's a good teacher. She make sure everyone gets what she's teaching. She knows how to empathize with students especially with the older generation, for example: making sure you get the quieteness you deserve so you don't get stress test. I recommend her. Just ask a lot of q as statistics is not hard to learn if you understand it.

I took her class online, so I never met her, but her instructions were pretty clear and straightforward. The material itself is challenging and interesting and very relevant to the world in which we live... I have decided to take another online class with her... AND a traditional one as well for this semester, so we'll see how that goes.

Online class is only 3 months. Everything is SuPeR fast!! So be prepared to read each chapters, understand the definition, read the FFN book & discussion board (10pts but, worth it). ** DON’T BE A PROCRASTINATOR!!!**

Lisa Ballesteros is an awesome teacher. She's super nice and her class is NOT difficult. Just do the homework that's assigned and you'll do well on the tests. She offers some extra credit opportunities. Her lectures aren't very captivating, but she's a good teacher overall.

Interesting class (both classes) and teacher. Keep up with the reading and DB and you'll get a good grade. Answers emails promptly, gives extra credit, or extends dates.

This class was challenging. I was really interested before but thought it would be easier. She's well organized. You have to do alot of reading and turn assignments in on time. She will not accept lates. She does explain everything and if you read, the tests are not difficult. I learned alot.

BEST TEACHER ONLINE EVER!!!! I didn't think I would like this class but it was great. Grades are based off of tests and discussion boards. Takes a lot of reading but if you do the practice quizzes at the end of the chapters you'll get an A like me!

She is one of the worst professors I've had. She is smart, she knows a lot but she does not know how to teach it. Super boring class, she only reads from power point. And her power point presentation is from the publisher of the book is not even hers! If you are a soc major definitely do not take her. If you do not care about learning ten, take her

I took her for 270 and 101 and did extremely well! She's a very kind teacher who cares about her students, if you need help just ask her and she's more than happy to help.

Great Professor. She actually teaches you the material, She has power point slides but rarely uses them. She does practice problems, so that you can get a hands on approach with the equations. Attendance is a must or else you can fall behind easily. There is a quiz every chapter, 4 tests a cumulative finals. Def. recommend!

She used video's quite a bit which was nice, powerpoints every day which was a bit tiresome, she was really nice and polite. Helpful too. Oh and is a babe. Do the assignments and youll be fine, I slacked off about 15% of the time and never really tried very hard and got a C+(less than 2% away from a B).

She is so hot. An awesome professor I took her for an 8 week long class. Very easy if you actually do your work and not a lazy student with middle class-itis! EYE CANDY!

Took this class online over the summer. Easy A. Weekly quizzes (you have over an hour to take them) and Weekly discussion board. No tests. No essays. Responds to emails fairly quickly. I accidentally refreshed a two separate, and she reset them right after emailing me back.

If you want to learn stats take this prof. She is really good at explaining difficult concepts by making it easy to understand. I was not good at stats until I took her class.

I took the online course and it was great. You have to participate in DB, and do some quizzes, no essays! She will respond to your q's in a timely manner. Take the class.

I absolutely love her! Stats is a hard class no matter who you take so READ THE BOOK. Honestly. Lisa makes it easy to understand but it is your job to study. This class was great. A really good professor who tries to keep the class engaged and even cracks a couple of jokes to keep the classes attention since the material was overwhelming at times but he is very clear on what to study for the tests and Quizzes. Read the book and do the homework and you'll get a good grade.

I really liked this online class. It's very straightforward, simple and well organized which is the key to success. Quick responses to emails and always super sweet and respectful! A great class overall! Your favorite part will be the reading the fast food nation book. Multiple choice exams, read text, simple discussion board. Loved this class :)

Prof. Ballesteros is the reason I chose Sociology as a major! I now have an A.A and B.A in Sociology, she was a great teacher.I just think too many people expect community college to be a piece of cake, you should want to be challenged in college.I took this class with other teachers and failed and I passed with her, and math is not my strong suit.

I was intimidated by her at first but I really got around to like her because of her teaching. Come to class prepared with material read & problems practiced because it really does pay off in the end. Professor Ballesteros was one of my favorite thus far because she really makes you work hard but at the end of the outcome is awesome!

I had to take this class twice, with her both times. You really have to keep up with her lectures. She can go a bit too fast sometimes, but just ask questions. As long as you don't miss class, sit up front and pay close attention, you'll be just fine. It's harder than it sounds, at least in my case. Overall, she's always there for her students

I took her class twice but it was because I was absent a lot, you need to be there. The second time I didn't miss a single day and everything was clear, you need to read before class so you can understand what she is explaining. Pop quizzes if nobody participates when she ask the students. EXCELLENT professor, always there to help you on office hrs

Professor Ballesteros is an easy teacher. I took Sociology 101 online and passed with an A. Her quizzes are easy and you have at least two discussion posts due every week, but they're pretty easy as well. You do have to read at least two chapters a week, but if you skim through, you'll be fine.

First, you HAVE to read the chapter before the lecture or you will not know what's going on. She fills in information during lec, but you have to read the chapter to understand her. Don't expect it to be like an Algebra class. It's less about calculations and more focus on understanding concepts. She ended up being one of my favorite teachers.

Professor Ballesteros is an amazing professor! She makes you work for your grade, you have to read before class attendance is crucial. Take her class with a friend in order to split up work. Go to her office hours, USE YOUR RESOURCES, do your homework on APLIA. Exams are online but tough STUDY. She wants you to succeed so she wont baby you.

I'm a Full time student. The class was very challenging but she keeps you engaged throughout the lecture. The class was ran like a hybrid course. All work due was online, but very tough. Take very good notes, read before class, attend office hours and you'll do well on the Hw, quizzes, and exams. Making a friend in class is EXTREMELY helpful.

It's a tough class if you don't do the work or read the chapters before lecture. If you don't read before, you will not know what is going on. Again, reading is ESSENTIAL to passing. I passed with an A my first try. Not as hard as people make it out to be. Just do the work.

Great professor if you do the work. Not easy, but if you find the correct way of applying what you learned to your homework you will pass. She does care for you but expects you to put effort into her class. She is a former community college student and wants to prepare students for a four-year school. PARTICIPATE!

Ballesteros is a very nice professor and her class is very straight forward. She learned my name really quick because I had her husband for Caculus. Your grade is based on 14 hw assignments, quizzes, 4 test and a final everything is done online yes even the test are done online. As long as you study and ask questions you will do fine.

Professor Ballesteros is a very helpful, she posts a lot of videos. Her homework and exam are very heavy. Expect a lot of homework every week and she does not give any extra credit.

All homework and tests are online but she does a very good job explaining the material and going through example problems in class. If you email her about a specific homework question she will occasionally send back videos of her working through the problem step by step. Very kind, patient, and willing to help answer any questions you have.

Great professor, although every hw, quiz, and exams are online, you are required to attend class. I really enjoyed her lectures, asking questions on things you might not be clear on does go a long way. Do not leave things last minute, in this class procrastination will not be in your favor! Not an easy class but does prepare you for transferring!!

This was a hard class, but math is not my thing. I had to study way more and go to tutoring services. I recommend you read the text book and take good notes on your own and with class lectures. She is understanding if you need to miss class but give a heads up and can't expect her to let you off the hook for missing more then the allowed amount.

I honestly thought this was one of the best online courses ive taken. It was a pretty easy class, not complicated at all. You do have to put time into it theres plenty of reading, however as long as you get your things done youll pass easily!

This course is challenging, but the professor is particularly picky and wants all the assignments done exactly how she wants them done. However, she is knowledgable, the course is detailed, and she is always available to meet after class to discuss further.

I had this class during the spring with a different prof . . . not good. Then coronavirus hit and it got much worse. I signed up for this class during summer and I was glad I was taking a class by a prof who knows how to do online. There are no zoom meetings - but lots of videos that are identical to HW, and some interesting Ted videos, etc too.

Lots of videos but its optional and very informative. A little repetitive but it helps out when you're trying to remember formulas. She breaks down every chapter by sections so there's about 2-3 lecture quizzes/wk. non-graded practice test every week and homework from the book. One of the best professors on my list!

Professor Ballesteros is confident using and working with online resources. She is well-organized and provides recorded lectures, modules, and homework every week. All provided in her youtube. I think you have to be responsible every week to keep up with the school works. For me, the class is challenging, but if you try your best, you will succeed!

Quizzes are optional. Homework weekly. Weekly learning checks from her video lectures(1-3 each week) I recommend adding what equation u are using on each word problem for the homework, YOU WILL BE FINE, BE DETAILED WITH UR WORK. Found it easier to print out the homework. Exams are 3hr timed, plenty of time. No complaints, you'll see what she likes!

Professor Ballesteros keeps things interesting with her unique online teaching style. Her lectures provide great detail, but can be time-consuming. Utilize resources like the textbook and unstuck study to stay on top of the weekly work. With effort, you'll do well in this challenging but rewarding class.
