Beck is one of my favorite teachers. She's very upbeat and funny in class and has very helpful powerpoints with all the information you need for the tests. She is also willing to listen to suggestions on how she can teach the class more effectively. I definitely recommend her!

Mrs. Beck is not as bad as these reviews say. Is she a bit on the tough side of grading? Yes, but it's a 300 level course and she really wants her students to be prepared to teach and put some extra effort into it. She is very enthusiastic and has a very strong passion for teaching. Mrs. Beck is very nice. She is very enthusiastic about what she is teaching and that makes the class more enjoyable. She grades pretty hard though, which makes it hard to get an A. But, if you actually study and try, you can get good grades. I liked the class, we had many fun days!

I loved this class. It may not have been the easiest, but I can honestly say I learned a lot. She does a lot of activities, so it's not all lecture, and you can use most of the activities with your students in the future. Beck was a great teacher who was totally willing to help if you had any question. If you have to take HSC, get it with her.

I had her for the summer online course. She was very quick to reply to emails and very helpful with her answers. She made this course very interactive with the discussion board. She kept us informed and updated with posting announcements. I would definitely take her class again. I wish she taught other classes so I could have her again.

Teacher is amazing. You will know everything that is supposed to be on the tests. You will always know when assessments are due. She is more than willing to help students out. She makes notes. Her tests are made from her notes. No need to read the textbook. If you can memorize information, this course will be a breeze.

This was an awesome class! At first I was not excited about health education, but Mrs. Beck makes you actually want to come to this class! This is not a boring lecture 3 times a week, you do different activities every class period. One of my favorite classes I've taken so far at Ball State. She lets you know exactly what is on every test by putting asterisks by every thing that you need to know when you're taking powerpoint notes. She makes the class really entertaining and fun. As long as you study for the tests, you should have no problem getting an A.

She was my favorite professor freshman year. The people that get less than a B in the class did not try at all. Study the slides that she puts a star by. Hint hint those are on the tests. She really wakes you up for a 9 am class on Monday mornings. She is very loud and energetic, and very sarcastic. Don't be caught texting on your phone. She will stop the lecture hall of 190 students and call you out. super embarrassing. She is overall my favorite teacher, the assignments are super easy, just keep up with them.

Ridiculously easy class. You don't have to read the book, but you'll need it to answer the weekly questions and take the quizzes and tests. Additional assignment are all easy. 10 hours of volunteer service necessary. However, the assignment associated with that is super easy.

As far as health goes, a course that I think everyone has taken at least 4 times in their life, she's borderline annoyingly enthusiastic about the course, so lectures, while ridiculously boring to sit through, are pretty entertaining

Beck is an entertainer. She know what she's talking about, and has a fun way of giving information. ALWAYS HAVE YOUR CLICKER. She will give random extra credit points in class use the clickers for questions throughout the lecture. Tests are straight forward, but study the lecture notes. She give you answers on the test during lectures.

Great teacher but we did a lot of activities. Almost ever class we have an activity and it feels like a waste. Doesn't lecture much over the material so I don't feel as prepared for quizzes/tests. Overall an enjoyable class because of her enthusiasm and energy. She gives you all of the answers to her tests in study sessions so go to those.

She is truly passionate about her subject and makes class so much more fun to be in. You do not have to attend class all the time but you will want to, especially since she offers LOTS of opportunities for easy extra credit just for being in class. Beck is an absolute hoot to have as a professor. I had taken this course previously with a different professor and did not learn clearly enough so I had to retake the course. I learned the material better with Beck, this may be because of all the course modules and worksheets but I am satisfied in knowing that I will remember everything I learned.

Beck is a really great prof. She really wants everyone to pass and be happy with their grades, so there are no surprises on test. There are days when extra credit points are rewarded, and although she doesn't take attendance often you'll miss A LOT of notes if you miss class. She is a little intense but if you study the PowerPoint and turn in the chapter assignments which are easy then youll be fine. Attendance isnt required but she occasionally offers bonus points and in class little exercises for points. Deadlines are strict unless you have an extreme excuse.

I got a b because she has a weird grading scale when it comes to attendance. It drops down really fast and I forgot that it was 3 instead of 4 days that didn't count off or something. She's really talkative and you do easy assignments for the class. She got rid of the big projects with us so we didn't do any but like one small one which was easy.

She is hilarious. It's easy to get an A if you come to class and pay attention. The tests are only 30 questions and they're pretty easy. Not a lot of assignments, no papers. I think one or two little projects. I loved her. Very genuine and caring professor- something rare at Ball State.

Good just don't be lazy and you'll pass the class. It's so easy. No tests, quizzes, or exams. Only weekly check ins and the occasional homework.

This class is very fun! Lots of group projects and games! The lectures are very interesting and not boring. It was difficult in the beginning but just give it a week. She also is very understanding when needing help with any assignments.

This professor used an Ungrading System. That pretty much means you just need to show up to class and do your homework to receive full credit. She likes to make sure you are doing okay and loves when people participate in class. As long as you do your homework on time and show up to class on time then you should be good.

This teacher is so much fun while you also learn. you do so many creative things while also learning the information you learn throughout the textbook and i reccommend just doing the worksheet they help you find what you need to as well as an easy grade. she is also a very very caring teacher with a big heart.

Is a wonderful professor so far this semester, and told us at the beginning of the year that we have no tests or quizzes! This has been a game changer in how I feel about her as a teacher. I myself don't do the best on tests, so I feel very confident in this class. She has the best attitude and always offers the opportunity to chat.

I love Lisa Beck, she was very passionate about health and made class interesting. There weren't any tests or quizzes and very few big assignments. She was also very caring and always wanted to talk and hear about our weeks when we came in.

Prof Beck is a very caring and kind educator. There are no tests or finals in this class, and the only thing she expects from you is to do the fill-in-the-blank notes. She does have a strict phone policy, so if you can't stay off your phone for an hour, this isn't the class for you. All of the textbook assignments were optional and very easy.
