Good teacher puts a lot of time into her class and expects a lot from you.
She is a very excellent teacher who expects the best from her students. You will learn in her class because in ACC 312, you will thank her.
Professor Bostick is very knowledgeable about her field and presents material in an easy to understand manner.
she was great. hard class, but loves the topic and her students. i am a senior now and i had her class as a freshman, and she still asks me how i am doing everytime she sees me. i have gone to her about things. she is wonderful

She is a monster!!...She is probably one of the worst teachers I ever had in my life. Unwilling to bring her fat behind to her office outside her offce hours to help a student. She doesnt give a rats A## about anyone but her dumb son and daughter. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!
One of the greatest professors! Makes class very interactve and entertaining. Always has good examples and stories to tell that make you understand better.
Dr. Bostick is a very smart professor. Some people did bad in her class because she assigns a lot of work and they didn't bother to do it. If you do the assigned work and pay attention in class then the class won't be difficult. Even out of class she is very helpful.
Accounting is a tough subject that is inherently technical and not particularly interesting. She does a great job of being lively in the class room and presenting the information in a clear fashion. Do your work and you will learn a lot. Don't do your work and she can only help you so much.

She is a VERY sweet person, but not the easiest to get a good grade from. If you aren't naturally good at picking things up the first time you hear them, she doesnt really know how to help you. Overall, not bad
she makes the class harder than it is supposed to be, but tries her best to explain everything, nice person, once we had a test with a 60 average and she gave us all a chance with redoing some of the problems for extra points, at the end of the sem. she will give you a slightly higher grade than you deserve if you attend all classes and do hwrk
Doesn't help. Never goes over homework problems. Never concerns about students if they understood or not. Test is really hard. Goes way beyond the textbook. Very impatient. But, as a person. she is a great person! but bad professor.
Brilliant Teacher and cares about her student's success. I got upset with her for not returning my email and she has gone out of her way to correct her behavior. So a professor who can admit when they are wrong.
Tests are very, very HARD! Expects her students to "think" not just "memorize" the material. Do ALL homework & projects & show up for every class - this will help your grade if test scores are low. She is always available for help either in person or via email!

Dr. Bostick is simply one of the best teachers in the college of business she is always available to help. Her Tests are extremely difficult. The best way to prepare is to read each chapter at least three times practice the financial statements and to do all the problems in the back of the book. Do the homework they count as an extra test grade
Probably the hardest class I have taken so far at UT. Her tests are VERY hard! You really have to know what you are doing to get any thing over a c. Make sure you do all of the home work and try to get full credit. A good home work grade will help you in the end.

Bostick worked for 15 years as an auditor, so she knows her stuff. Reading is mandatory to get a decent grade. Attending class helps. She uses a lot of personal examples that don't necessarily help your understanding of the topics studied. Use her office hours and let her explain the items you don't get. Exams are very difficult. You must study.
Read on your own if you want to learn anything. Only two tests - one on a project evaluating a company.
As prior student noted, if you want to clear anything from internal audit, read on your own; otherwise, it will be waste of your money and time.
She knows the subject well.. Just study from the book and you should be fine..
Had her for bus 101 this semester, but wish I had her for accounting 202! We are just getting into that section in the book and I have learned more from her in two days than I did my whole semester of accounting 202 last year! I would already recommend her for acct just by the little I have noticed. Very sweet woman and energetic! Never boring!
Professor Bostick's class was sooooooooo boring, all she did was read off powerpoints and talk about sailing. She was not clear on the projects she gave us. She is also a very hard grader. Tests are all multiple choice so it wasnt that bad, just make sure you study a couple night before.
Horrible, she doesn't give you any help prior to test. Always blindsided by test questions. Must take extensive notes and participate fully to receive good grade. Show up every class because she surprises class with graded assignments. Don't take her.
She is passionate about accounting and explains things over and over, but her test questions are always ten times harder then anything else in the course. If you want to do well you have to spend hours preparing for the tests. Not worth it for a non-accounting major.

Dr. Bostick is a great teacher. I feel that I have learned a lot with her; however, she is a really tough grader. Personally, I was spending around 15 hours per week studying for her class, she goes through a lot of material in a small amount of time, and still I could not get an A. I lost my 4.0 GPA.
Very self important. Attendance is not mandatory but it might as well be. Expect lots of homework and tests. If you don't plan on making accounting your pride and joy avoid her classes.
She is the best, I loved having her as a professor. She makes you work for your grade but she really makes you understand the material.

She is one of the nicest people I've met in college. she speaks as a motherly figure and accounting is her child. i learned more in her class then i did my whole life. I thank her for making me like accounting and her knowledge. If you take this class you will spend hours on end doing work but it is completely worth it.
I don't like her class. She think she's funny but she's not. She's not fear with the grads. NO extra credit. A lot of work. There are a lot of professors better than her. I don't like the way that she teaching.
Kept class interesting with her stories and teaches accounting well. People complain about her tests but I don't think they were that bad
This is not an easy class you will need to work for your grade. She makes quizzes purposely trickey by throwing curveballs in there to confuse you. 2 homeworks for each chapter and 2 projects for the semester. She is great lady but not the nicest when it comes to grading.. Expects accounting to come easy to everyone.
Dr. Bostick may be one of the best teachers I have ever had. She clearly loves accounting, and at times, you might be lost, but know that she is always there to help. Go to her for help if you need it, you'll be greeted with a smile. Don't think you won't have homework, you will. But it is pretty manageable if you are on top of it.
Very passionate about accounting. She does a good job explaining the material and will help as much as you need. The course is A LOT of work and is pretty difficult
Dr. Bostick was probably the best professor I have ever had. She made you want to learn accounting because she was so passionate about it. I learned so much, and I am debating on minoring in it because of her. She was inspirational and kept you very interested. She is funny and full of character. TAKE HER if you can, you will not regret it.

Her class is extremely difficult, she talks about accounting as if everyone has the same knowledge she does. I went to her office hours all the time and tried really hard in the class. Now, I'm doing grade forgiveness.
This class was easier for me because I have taken accounting classes before. However, Professor Bostick really engages with the class and is so passionate about accounting. Her passion brought forth so much more effort from almost everyone in the class.

Overall, this is a tough class. She treats it as such and expects you to be there having read the chapter the night before. There is a lot of work that goes into the class, and she is a tough grader. That being said, you know exactly what is on the exams and she is willing to change her lecture if the class doesn't understand a topic.
Dr. Bostick is a great accounting teacher. She's full of energy and applies what you learn into real life scenarios. If you are an accounting major, you should not be expecting an easy path, so yes, you will have to study hard to get an A in this class, but it is not impossible.
This is a tough class, but she gives a lot of energy every class. If you show up prepared (read the chapter before) and do your homework you will be fine. One of my favorite teachers on campus. Always willing to help during office hours.

This is one of the hardest classes that I have ever taken at UT. With that being said, Dr. Bostick, made it somewhat enjoyable although we were all stressed that we may fail. You have to show up to class having read the chapter beforehand or you are lost. Shes awesome though.
She is a wonderful woman! She wants you to work for your grade and she wants you to understand it. You need to have read the chapter before she teaches it. Gives a reasonable amount of homework. Three tests that are grade heavy. Two projects are given to balance out the grades more. She loves her students and her job. Also a great story teller.

Dr. Bostick is a great teacher and very funny. She takes time out of class to tell stories and make our moods better to learn. A lot of homework is given, but it really helps to understand the topic better. If you don't understand something then she will be readily available for you for the most part. I would definitely take her again if I could!
I loved her-she was one of the nicest women I've ever met. With that being said, her class is TOUGH. Her tests cover the main material but formatted in ways that was confusing to me. Usually a very good test taker but struggled with her. But if you do the homework, and do well on the quizzes which focus only on one chapter, you'll be fine.
WORST PROFESSOR IN ENTIRE DEPARTMENT. I hope she sees this message and knows that she doesn't know how to teach and is nasty for talking about her personal health problems. All she talks is about sailing, her "Southern heart" and cancer. Her tests were ridiculously hard. NO OTHER TEACHER gives INDIVIDUAL tests, all others do multiple choice. BOOO!!

As an average student I struggle in almost every class I take so if this is you listen up! She is crazy I honestly read the reviews and I have no idea what teacher they are all writing about. Her office hours are so hard to accomplish anything because all she wants to do is talk about her family and she does not let you collaborate. its BUSINESS !!
the professor is a nice woman but DOES NOT TEACH!!! i literally went to class just for attendance and had to teach myself EVERYTHING outside of class. there is 3 different homework assignments for each chapter and to complete them it takes HOURS. this is the HARDEST CLASS I'VE EVER TAKEN with the HARDEST PROFESSOR i've ever had. do not take her!!
ACC 202 is a very demanding class... especially with Dr. Bostick. She is a very very tough grader and assigns many assignments at a time. She is also hard to confront because she thinks you know everything because she does.
This class was very hard to begin with, and this teacher did not help at all. Office hours were not that helpful and she is the HARDEST grader I have ever had. The tests are so hard and not like the practice problems. She expects you to understand everything that she does. and is NOT lenient. DO NOT take.
Worst professor I have ever had in my 2 years of college. I cried approximately about 2 time a week because of the class. She expects you to know everything, because its obvious). She only talks about how she wants to be on her yacht and about her family or New Orleans. Her tests are EXTREMELY HARD AND IMPOSSIBLE. AVOID TAKING THE CLASS WITH HER.

Worst class with the worst professor. She gives out an unreasonable amount of work and doesnt think you have other classes. Each assignment took atleast 2 hours long and she is an extremely tough grader
THE WORST. Im warning you now, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. There is an unreasonable amount of work and instead of learning the format for journal entries you'll learn the staffs name at the yacht club on Davis Island.
Dr Bostick is a very hard professor to take. Her exams are really hard but if you study you should be fine. For the first test she stayed with me in her office hours for 6 hours... 3 hours after her set hours were over and helped me and a group of my class mates until we felt comfortable with the test. She is a great professor.
THE worst teacher I have ever had. You go to sit in her office for 6 hours and waste those hours. She does NOT know how to teach this difficult material. She also does not care if you pass or fail!!! I emailed her a lot and went to see her and she never helped me. She kicked a whole class out because we didn't get the material. Good luck taking her
I love Dr. Bostick. She is a tough teacher, but all the work is fair. Her tests are hard, but if you use her study tools and practice questions you will do awesome. She isn't the best lecturer, tad confusing and fast-paced during class. However, ACC 202 is very easy to teach yourself outside of the class. I 10/10 recommend taking her.

If accounting isn't your major or you really can't grasp the concepts, do not take her. She teaches every class as if all the students are majoring in accounting. She is very intelligent but the amount of homework is crazy. You will learn a lot with her but it's hard to keep up with her class if you are taking other intense classes.
If you're thinking about it, don't. If she's the last professor and you really need to take the course, don't. Even if this is the last class that you need to take before graduating, if she's teaching, DON'T.
This is the worst class I have ever taken. She did not reply to emails unless I emailed her 2-3 times. She is such a tough grader at some points doing the assignment got me the same grade I would've gotten not doing the assignment. Honestly, don't take her as a professor.

She was one of the worst professors I've taken here and I have had some pretty awful profs. There's not enough characters here to describe everything wrong with how she teaches, grades, and creates quizzes/tests. This prof is a no go. I LOVED accounting before I had met this professor, now I and most classmates have switched majors. AVOID
Professor Bostick is the hardest professor Ive taken at UT. Pulled my hair out during every exam and there is lots of assignments. Personal issues affect her ability to teach. Highly recommend taking another professor. She was the only one available to me and I wish I waited to take the class.
I would rather take accounting from someone who doesn't speak English instead of having her try to teach this class to me. She thought I was majoring in accounting and knew exactly what to do even after I sat in office hours and she just showed me the test I failed. She wouldn't let me take a test because I missed the class because I was in the ER.
Prof. Bostick is such a nice lady she really is... but if you're not an accounting major I don't recommend taking this. I spent the entire class completely confused. She goes very fast and if you don't understand from the beginning you won't understand ANYTHING. If you're taking this just for pre-req find a different teacher

She is all over the place and anytime someone was confused or asked for help, she would lecture us about not being prepared rather than just explaining the concept over. Easily worst professor I've had yet. If you have to take ACC 320 DO NOT take this professor. She wastes class time talking about her personal life and expects the class to follow along with it. She also gets lost within her own lectures and simply doesn't know how to explain problems.

Expects you to read the chapter and watch a video and completely understand a chapter, she is not aware that not everyone learns the same. She is also not very helpful if you are sick with a doctors note and can not go to class. You will not pass the exam if you miss more than 2 chapters and she will not help you learn it.
The course topic itself is very difficult. She is an amazing professor that is willing to help you as much as she can if you're stuck. She gives a normal amount of homework and a lot of extra homework problems. She gives enough work to prepare for the homework. You can't just memorize the materials, you must get a great understanding.

I took advanced accounting in high school and did great. this is not at all how this class went. she just spits information out at you without any notes. she skips the actually textbook work and just does examples which is impossible to learn. the class average on the last test was a 58 with a 6 point curve. NEVER TAKE HER.

Btw I'm convinced any of the 5 star ratings are written by bostick her self they sound a little suspicious if you read them all they sound like a teacher and all say the same thing.

I rather have just never showed up and taken the failing grade because you learn nothing from this class. and then on top of it she gives the hardest test and no curve or anything even though literally everyone is failing. got a 16 on the last test. not to bad since the class average was like a 50
miss a class u fail the test. don't understand a topic don't expect to get clarification. Literally offers zero help and talks down to you for not understanding the material. Speeds through chapters in class and then expect you to just understand everything without examples. DO NOT take this class she has been my worst teacher so far.
This course is one of the more difficult accounting classes but Dr. Bostick does a great job at explaining the topics. I highly recommend going to class as she goes over tons of example problems that are very similar to her tests. The class takes a lot of time and work but she does a great job to prepare you. Take advantage of her office hours!
She was more teacher oriented than professor oriented. Meaning, how she ran the class. Pay attention in class and definitely complete the first three/four smart books because they are staples for the rest of the semester. Take notes as she is lecturing it makes more sense, trust me. Definitely complete all the homework assignments. You got this!
It is truly astonishing how miserable this class and teacher were this semester. Ruined my mood every time I walked into the class. Toughest grader I have ever had. Offers zero extra credit opportunities, even though majority of class is failing. I pray for those who have her in the future.
She is very enthusiastic about accounting but expects you to already know lots about it even though it is an entry-level class. She moves fast and her lectures are all examples that help a lot with the written portion of the test. The tests are difficult and require studying. Be prepared to spend lots of time outside of class on homework.
This is by far the worst professor I have ever had in all my years of school. Terrible teacher, grades hard, offers no extra credit and no partial credit. She expects you to be an accounting expert right when you walk in the first day of class. I would never take this class ever again. Avoid Bostick at all cost.
Miserable and should retire
An awful teacher and expects you to be a pro right away when she just gave one example and didn't even teach well on the first example. I would really recommend staying away from this course with her it is. hard course in general and Bostick is not the way to go save yourself and do not take her. I just watched 4 of my classmates walk out of class
If you want to watse 5-10 hours a week studying, take this class. She acts like we should know all the information before teaching it to us. I do not recommend taking this class.
Beginning of the semester, she gives us FIVE different softwares to purchase/use: 2 ebooks, 2 database access codes, and 1 other software we barely used called tableau. Makes homework due at the worst possible time. Final exam was on Tuesday May 2nd, and May 1st we had 4 assignments due at midnight. Keep in mind it was FINALS WEEK. SKIP AT ALL COST
I don't even know where to start. I seriously think the only thing I learned in this class was that this school needs to monitor who they let teach their classes. This is the worst professor I have ever had in my entire life. if you want to fail a class even after showing and putting in hours of effort then take her, otherwise AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
This is one of the first accounting major classes you take and Dr. Bostick does a great job to prepare you and made me love my major. This class is not for slackers, so you must read and UNDERSTAND the material. Assignments are easy, but the tests are very hard with CPA exam MCQ included. Only complaint is tests make up 70% of the grading scale.
She is a really good professor. Her ratings are tough but from taking her class I understand it. It is a hard class, she isn't easy, but she is a good teacher. If you don't read and go to class, you won't do well. It seems that many of the people who do the ratings have blamed for her for their lacking work ethic.

This professor is getting bad rating, because Accounting is tough? Its a hard class, its supposed to be hard. At the end of the day, you will be more prepared to take ACC 203.
Her class is very hard and the first two tests were very hard but stick to it and don't give up. She's not a great teacher but has a lot of practice problems. failed my first two test and wanted to withdraw but the last two tests are manageable. You need to do the practice problems but the multiple choice is the hardest part you need to prepare.

DON'T TAKE HER! Expects students to know the material before going to class when it is an entry level accounting class. She has favorites and then everyone else is at the bottom of her list. She stormed out of class once because people were confused. Not clear about what are on tests and many people fail even after spending hours on end each week.
I took this class in spring of 2023. Tough class, no doubt. But as long as you do the worksheets she gives you will be fine. This is the class where you find out if you have what it takes to get an accounting degree. So be ready!
Awful teacher. She grades so harshly and barely knows what she's saying during the lectures. Office hours are no help at all and she is not caring about any circumstances at all. Tests are difficult even after countless hours of studying.
nice person, awful professor. lectures were so messy and hard to follow which made me more confused and she's not tech savvy so there were lots of technical difficulties with online assignments. she rarely made any sense when explaining things and i basically taught myself the course by using the textbook and online resources which were so helpful

Personally I am not good at school, but the way she teaches just works. I see all these bas comments but she literally teaches what is on the test. She isn't the easiest and her exams are hard but I have studied for them and gotten good grades on them all. She is super caring and wants you to do well. Also has a lot of experience in the industry
Was kinda nice but take any other professor than her. her 8 a.m. was brutal and she just talks the whole time. there's a quiz every week and lots of hw. its a hard subject so if you miss one class you are so far behind and if you miss a quiz you can't make it up. if I could go back and chose another professor I would do anything to be able to.
The hardest class I will take here. Had to memorize an insane amount of material for exams. She wasn't the most organized prof. but was honestly a pretty good teacher. This class is extremely difficult and work intensive. I would not recommend taking her if you are a finance major.This class taught me how to study and newly defined "hard exams".

Quizzes and exams are exactly what she teaches and her online practice is super helpful. Time consuming class, but definitely passable.

That being said, for this class you HAVE to pay attention, read the textbook and take notes. If you do these things the class should be fine. SHE IS GREAT! also go to office hours. She was always so sweet and helpful!
I am begging you please please please do not take her. I was passing the class and the day grades were due she failed me for a test I told her I wasn't going to be there for because I was in the hospital for a week. I had to appeal to be withdrawn from the class because she failed me. Please do not take her.
Threw a pen at someones head on accident
This class is notoriously difficult, but if you stay on top of the material and utilize resources like the free textbook and Unstuck ai, you can succeed. The professor expects a lot, but her real-world experience makes the content valuable.
Even with prior knowledge from High school, she made this class impossible. Very sweet but talked more about her personal life than the material. Only went over examples but never explained how she got there. Expected you to read the chapter word for word. Very nice women, but HORRIBLE professor!! DO NOT TAKE!! TRUST!
Worst teacher. Class was impossible and extra help never helped. She talked about her personal life more than the lectures, and her notes do not make any sense. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.
Bostick isn't the worst but isn't the best by any means. She is an awful teacher but a nice lady. Material is hard to uncerstand and she expects you to know everything before we go over it in class. Quizzes every other class and at least 3 assignments a week. She sucks.
So difficult, tried getting help outside of class hours, did not help at all.
