She is amazing. She has the most energy, and always comes to class excited to teach! Human sexualities is a really interesting class, but she made is even more interesting with all of her stories and happiness to teach. I highly recommend taking her class, you won't regret it.

An absolutely charming lady. Very nice, very helpful, and actually has interest in teaching and helping her students academically and otherwise. The format is easy: show up and take notes on the lectures, study the notes and you'll breeze through the tests and won't have to use the textbook. Response papers are pretty light work as well. :)

LOVE HER! She is such an amazing person that will always bring a smile to your face when you listen to her lectures! Just make sure to do some studying before the exams and you will be fine!

An absolutely fantastic teacher! She's totally passionate about what she teaches and makes it easy to understand. As long as you're there for notes and lectures, you won't ever need to read/buy the book. This does NOT mean she doesn't teach, because she does and she's good at it. I recommend her for everyone.

There's a syllabus quiz, 3 10-point papers, and 3 50-point exams. The SQ and the papers are basically free points, and the exams are all off PowerPoint lectures, which are great. Definitely take Lisa!

Easy class, easy to follow, just study and do your papers. Very funny and hott teacher. She will always help and answer your questions. Dont bother getting the book, it isnt needed though she says its mandatory.

It's easy to pay attention when the professor is easy on the eyes. She's passionate about the subject, and very informative. I would suggest EVERYONE take here PSYCH110 class. I wish everyone were forced to take this class, the world would be a much better place. Good relationship advice as well.

She is amazing and if you have any sense you would take her class!!! She gives you every chance to pass her class. She explains as much as she can in the short amount of time she has during class. She also gives excellent advise about relationships and those tough subjects that many instructors shy away from. TAKE HER CLASS!!!!!!!!

She has to be my favorite professor I've had this semester. She's very passionate about the material she teaches, which is a very good thing. No homework at all, except for 3 extra credit essays she assigns which aren't required. Lectures are always very interesting. TAKE HER CLASS you won't regret it!!!

Lisa Carlstrom is, to date, one of my favorite professors. She's funny, she demonstrates a fantastic knowledge of the subject matter, she has anecdotes that are related to the subject matter, she is helpful and willing to discuss topics you may have been confused on, and she is friendly. If you're wondering if you should take this class, do it.

Very passionate about material she's teaching. Very nice. She's very animated which helps the student constantly stay engaged and not trail off. She knows her stuff.

She is the greatest teacher. She is so enthusiastic when she teaches. I took her for Human Sexualties. I really loved the class because of her. Her lecture notes are easy to follow. She gives out 3 test and breaks them up. You should read the book to be able to follow along about what she is talking about in class. Take her she's great!

She's the best teacher I've ever had. She's thorough, passionate, inspirational, and very real. Your grade is composed of 3 exams, and extra credit is offered in class. Basically, if you show up to every class, take good notes, and own the textbook for 10% of exam questions, you'll get an A. Take this class, it'll help you in life tremendously.

Amazing professor.

I'm taking her for stats. Great teacher. Very organized. She gives a lot of good examples. There is weekly homework. Problems on test were very similar to homework problems. I was nervous to take this class because I'm not always good at Math, but this professor explains things very well and is also nice and helpful during office hours.

Dr. Carlstrom is a good professor. She clearly goes through steps and processes and uses great examples. The course is very hard. It's a statistics course. Working problems from the book BEFORE doing the homework helps. Also studying new material ASAP is crucial for the tests.

I liked this class. Especially the professor. Dr. Carlstrom is cool. I haven't taken her class in awhile, but i did not pass. I'm thinking of taking her statistics class if i need it. i like how she teaches and she's really nice outside of class. I'm shocked she remembers my name after so many students she has.

Dr. Carlstrom is great. She is very helpful and listens. She is always available for any kind of help not just school related. I LOVED being in her class I never thought about not going. She wants you to pass and this class changed my entire life outlook. I changed my major to Human Sexualities after taking her class. She is so nice and funny.

She's a great teacher. Her lectures are never boring. Only thing I did not like is that there are only 3 tests and zero homework. So if you do poorly on a test, theres basically no possible way to make it up. Even with the 4 extra credit notecards, they are only worth 2 points each. Wish there was assigned and graded homework to balance out grade.

Teaches a difficult course to teach so so well. She really cares about her students and she's someone you can trust to give you good advice. 3 exams in total and they're fairly easy as long as you prepare by going over the study guides she uploads to blackboard. You'll never be bored in her class and you'll come out so much more knowledgeable.

I loved this class. Was highly recommended with this teacher and I do not regret taking it at all! This is a very simple class, that as long as you pay attention to the lecture, read your book, and do the study guides, you will definitely pass. Lisa is one of my favorite professors like, ever. Statistics is not an easy A class. But, Lisa provides interesting and clear lectures, is available to help outside of class and gives you about a week to complete each homework assignment. She also holds review sessions before tests. The book she selected was super cheap and fun to read. Take her!

I took her for both sex class and statistics. Great teacher all around. Sex class is pretty easy and very interesting. Go to class, take notes, use the study guides and you'll do fine. Statistics is a tough class. We had weekly homework. You gotta work the textbook problems too if you want to do well. I got an A in both classes!

Tough class, great teacher. Lectures are very clear and organized. There is weekly homework and four exams. Working the problems in the textbook is crucial for learning the material. I suggest forming a study group early in the semester. Also go to professor's office hours. She is very nice and helpful. So glad I took stats with this teacher.

I love Dr Carlstrom. She is a great teacher, and I couldn't imagine taking Stats with any other teacher. She is very organized and willing to help you with any way that she can. She also makes herself available to you! She is very energetic. She has a weekly homework problem and 4 exams, part are multiple choice. She also gives you a formula sheet!

She allows you to work out problems for the online homework quiz a few days before the assignment is due. It was multiple choice and non timed. Formula sheet was provided on exams. Try to take pictures/print the SPSS activity. The lecture notes help with the multiple choice questions as well as the fill in. Compared to Math134 this class is better.

I took her for sexuality and loved her so much. She's funny and makes the uncomfortable topics more open. There is so much good information to be learned in this class. It should be a class that everyone takes. She made me think about things that i never thought of before and I was never bored in this class.

Lisa is a great teacher. Lectures are very good. She is actually pretty funy for such a boring topic. We have weekly homework and four exams. Exams are part multiple choice and part problems. Homework problems and exams are very similar. The book is good but I understand it better during class, so don't miss class. Overall, I recommend highly.

I loved this class and teacher. The lectures are soooo interesting. The material can be really sensitive, but she handles it well and I learned a lot that I didn't know. I didn't buy the book so I ended up with B. Could have gotten an A with book. I went to talk to her in her office about a personal issue and she gave me some really good advice.

Carlstrom is amazing. I love her. Statistics is hard. It takes a lot of time outside of class to work the problems and stuff, but she will help you and she keeps things really positive. I feel like I would have struggled if I had a different teacher. Explains things really well.

One of the best professors Ive ever had!

I loved that her lectures were very clear. You can tell she is passionate about statistics. We had a quiz every week online that would get upload on thursdays and was due sundays. It was based off the chapter we reviewed for that week. If you go to class and work out the problems in the book you'll be fine.

Tried to take stats THREE times before I took it with Carlstrom. Shes definitely not boring and thoroughly explains all of the material. There is no assigned homework, there are weekly online quizzes and 4 in class exams. Since theres no hw, you dont really need the text, but I would reccomend it. Just go to class and youll pass.

Brilliant professor! Her statistics class wasn't easy.... but as long as you go to class and studied for her test it won't be a problem. She teaches the material well making a boring subject interesting and makes sure to dedicate extra office hours to her students that are struggling..

Her class is one of the most interesting classes I have taken. She teaches everything that we should have been taught when we were waaay younger and she's great at it. Very funny and gives great feedback. She always has her office door open to talk and if she has to reschedule she lets you know! I would take her class again if I could.

Statistics is never easy but she makes her examples super relatable. Go to class everyday and take really detailed notes and youll pass. Study study study!!!!

Warning-she treats you like an actual College Student. If you have your sights on transferring to a 4yr it is great prep. She will teach you HOW to study. Invaluable (wish I learned this in HS). Not only brilliant, she is energetic and accessible but at the end of the day, it is on you to get the work done. Very Fair and Inspiring, Love Her!

Dr. Carlstrom is absolutely AMAZING. She is incredibly intelligent and admirable. I happen to hate math, and she made it rather enjoyable. If you are looking for an easy A, dont bother with this class. She only offers 250 points (and no extra credit), so not much room for error, BUT she is such a fair grader. Love her! Take this class!

Dr. Carlstrom is the best instructor for Statistics I can guarantee regarding to her knowledge, teaching style and her aptitude to students' improvement. There are 4 exams one each 3 chapters and 10 homeworks one in a week with supplement instructor to help you like a special tutor for this class. She won't give you tricky questions for sure.

I really love her class and enjoy study stats with her very much. She possesses the high talent in teaching statistics. There will be an SI class which is a supplement instructor to assist you as a tutor for this class. There are about 20-30 multiple choice questions and about 3-4 problems of each exam. 10 Homeworks & it is about one in each week.

If you want to succeed your stats let's take Dr. Carlstrom class. Also you just follow her advice in syllabus such as do homework in textbook, pay attention during lecture and take note properly, attend Supplement Instructor class, not take many class or work many hours, read textbook before lecture, exchange with friends around & you'll get A

Bought the book but only used it for the Appendix in the back. I did meet weekly w a classmate to algo over HW. Its a lot of memory so flash cards are a must. Lectures good but she adds a lot of fluff. Breakdown her notes into steps and youll be able to pass.

Mandatory attendance because of notes that are taken everyday. Notes comes from her presentations but she explains it during class. One of the best professors I have ever taken, she cares about her students and is willing to talk to them no matter what. Very detailed in her lectures also that matters in her finals!

Dr. Carlsrom is the best instructor for Stats I confirm. She has excellent knowledge and experiences of stats, that's why she can explain to you very clear, short and easy to understand. She also provides a supplement instructor to improve your study and pratice exercises for you to get ready for your homework and exam.

Lisa Carlstrom is an amazing Professor. Her teaching style makes difficult concepts easy to learn. However, she doesnt offer extra credit and your grade is directly reflected on how well you do on the exams. e.g, I received nearly 100% on everything except for a single exam (I received a D) and couldnt get an A in the class. Professor Carlstrom is awesome! This is the best class I ever had and I actually looked forward to going. There are three tests in the semester and during the final and you can take one of them again if you got a bad score. The tests are very straightforward, as are the study guides given for them. This was the most interesting and fun class ever!

Dr Carlstrom is a great professor. I took the Human Sexualities class with her and overall she is a great teacher. There were many lectures through pre recorded videos that she posted along with one or two assignments and discussion every week. At the end of the week, you would take a test about that subject. Just show up, pay attention and pass.

A super easy class if you watch the lecture videos and participate in the discussions. I even got a B without buying the textbook and missing a handful of lectures/assignments. I highly recommend prof Carlstrom, she's very well spoken and really cares about her students and the coursework.

I enjoyed this class. I can tell Dr. Carlstrom is very passionate about this subject and invites everyone to ask her questions in office hours. The textbook is needed. I did just fine with an older edition. There is short quizzes on the weekly lecture & readings. Overall this is a class I'd suggest.

Her lectures are very informative and entertaining as she uses real-life examples. She also chooses fascinating taboo topics for discussions, meaning we learn about things we're too scared to ask about! Overall, she cares so much about her students and is always happy to listen or answer questions. I absolutely loved this class!!

Dr. Carlstrom was one of my favorite professors. So sweet & caring for her students' success in class & also life. Quiz at the end of every week on the chapter txtbook reading, 1-2 lecture videos, and small Youtube clips. She gives study guides for every chapter that is basically the quiz. Great lecturer too. Overall amazing experience, take her!!!

what a wonderful class and professor! i enjoyed every single lecture and dr. carlstrom is so wonderful and truly compassionate about the subject she teaches. most of the grade is activity points, which turns into extra credit once you've done enough (50 points). exams are simple and are INCREDIBLY similar to the study guides, so look at those.

She is energetic and fun, making every class engaging from the moment you walk through the door.She provides ample office hours and great study guides too. Flash cards helped me allot!

Professor Carlstrom is incredible. She is very passionate about teaching, and it shows. I really enjoyed her lectures. The class was not hard. 3 exams total (50 points each) and 50 points for in-class activities, which are very easy. Some extra credit in-class activities worth 20 points. I highly recommend her.

Professor Carlstorm is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! She is so passionate about the subjects that she teaches and she is always so energetic. I was always awake in her classes and laughing about her jokes. Really amazing teacher and even if you aren't a psychology major, I really recommend taking this class. Theres so many things to take away from this class

Read the book. Go to SI session. Ask questions in class, and make time to study. Have a study group on weekends. I am not great at math, but I was able to pass doing all of these things. It's a difficult course, but she is a great teacher, and my SI instructor and outside study group helped me pass. It's possible just do the work and make time.

Lisa Carlstrom is very enthusiastic and informative. This class takes a bit of work, but nothing too extreme, especially if you attend class. All around good professor and good class.

Do yourself a favor and take her class. The most caring professor you will ever meet. Classes have engaging lectures that help you retain the information, but 200/275 points available are from the four exams. I cannot say enough great things about her though! Wish I could have taken more classes with her. She helped me fall in love with statistics!

Take this professor! She is amazing, I took her summer course and knew it was going to be fast paced so be prepared if you plan on taking her summer course. Ball of energy! I really enjoyed this teacher and she made the class environment great to be in. Make sure to study all the equations because it gets to be a lot in the middle chapters.

There's only a few assignments she gives as "homework" but its super easy to complete, just be ready to realize something about yourself that you never would've expected haha

Two words: phenomenal teaching. Carlstrom is so good at what she does, it amazes me. She will keep you engaged in every lecture and will make the exams exactly like the study guides. She gives no homework and will base your grade on 3 exams (which are easy). The chapters are fun to digest because she uses examples/life experiences which help A LOT.

Lisa is a great professor; she was always nice and encouraging, always had funny stories. I took her human lifespan class and then her statistics class. She offers many opportunities to ask questions (office hours and SI leaders). Tests can't be made up, so try not to miss class. She doesn't give a lot of assignments so made sure to do all of them.
