she was the best teacher i have had by far. she is very interesting and gets you into the subject. she answers all your questions and knows a lot about psychology. tests are easy if you pay attention. she is kind hearted. i recommend taking her classes. she is an awesome teacher.

Lisa is the best. She really knows her stuff! She makes the lecture very interesting, and just recently started to post her notes on webct. that was a big help. lots of quizes, which help you for the tests.

She is a GREAT teacher! If you want to take a psych course, I highly recommend Lisa! She explains things in a very easy to understand way, and tells stories to go along with them, you will literally never forget these things. Great prof! The online quizzes are somewhat difficult and the tests can be a bit tricky but as long as you pay attention in class you will love it and pass with flying colors! very experienced and intelligent professor! Absolutely love all of her stories!! Also as long as you take notes and pay attention the tests will be no problem for you!

This teacher is amazing. I barely touched my book because I was so interested in class I retained all the information she taught. I thoroughly enjoyed her class. Fantastic person in general! Well-rounded teaching methods (Visual, Auditory, Verbal, and Kinesthetic). Keep up with the work and participate in class and it will be impossible for you to receive a bad score. She is intent on helping those who make an effort.

Lisa was very nice and liked to try to make the class more fun. I enjoyed the enthusiasm she had but this isn't the best class for someone who wants to really learn the material. There was a lot of time wasted on stories the class would get sidetracked on. This also isn't a good class for anyone who doesn't like group work. It's an easy A though.

I LOVED taking Ab Psych with Lisa. I may have enjoyed it more because I had 2+ years in the mental health field so this was just a cake walk class. As far as Work Load though - EASY BREEZY!Fun lectures - always an interesting story lol. I looked forward to class every time. Take home mid term and final - and 10 shorteasy essays for the semester )

She is THE BEST professor I've ever had. She's hilarious, kind, and super understanding. She is reasonable and if you come to her with a problem she's totally willing to help and be flexible. She's the best. Her work is definitely not easy for those who don't pay attention though. She has a lot of papers, and wouldn't be ideal if you hate essays.

I can't rave enough about this professor. She is amazing! I was so sad to not be able to take her in my third semester, as she only teaches two different psych classes. She's hilarious, and knows her stuff. Her only downside is she assigns insanely long papers, but as long as you're not lazy and you do the work you'll make the grade. She's awesome!

LOVE THIS PROFESSOR!! She's very fair and tells you from the beginning that she's there to help! She makes the subject very interesting with her real-life stories and experiences she has pertaining to psychology. Wow what a good professor. She gets your attention and give good examples to make easier to understand. She's always there to help in her office and even gives her own cellphone number that we can reach her. It's a lot of material and talking in class and sometimes it's difficult to follow up. choose in class take home exam includes the final exam

Lisa is one of the best professors Ive ever had. Her lectures were interesting and informative. Shes worked out in the field so she knows what shes talking about. We had weekly papers (1-2 pages), a take home midterm and final, and a research paper. We also had a service learning project which we prepared for all semester. Highly recommended!

Course is clear cut in the syllabus so youre never unprepared for whats coming. A lot of class discussion but its great because its based on real life scenarios vs textbook lingo. Weekly informal essays that are just a follow up to what youre currently learning & making sure youre grasping the concept of materials. all aroin Great Professor!

Professor Botelho is the best psychology instructor I have ever had. She has the class laughing the entire time. Every single lecture was interesting and thorough! I have learned so much with her. Im so glad that I took a class with her. I highly recommend taking her for abnormal psychology, she Knows what shes talking about.

Lisa is one of the best professors I've ever had, and is definitely the funniest. Having to take a statistics for psych class made me groan, but because of her, I actually ended up enjoying it. She will explain concepts until you understand them, and answers any questions you have. Will be taking her for Abnormal Psych next semester.

Lisa is one of the best professors at BCC. Ive had her for other classes, so I was excited to take this new required class with her. The class itself was a little difficult, but Lisa is good at explaining things differently if need be. I highly recommend Lisa for any psychology class you need to take.

She is very funny and makes class fun. She shares some crazy stories but also is a very good teacher. I took her for psych 101 and then took abnormal psych by her the next semester. She posts everything online but also relies on the students responsibility for attendance, participation, assignments, etc. If you like psychology you will love her!

Shes amazing. Lecture notes are on BB and easy to follow. Class is more discussion-based than lecture-based (but i guess this depends on class attitude/participation). Short essay due every week which are fairly easy, the midterm and final are sent out in advance so you can work on them gradually (book on reserve in library)

Great teacher ,interesting classes

This class has to be one of my favorite i've ever taken because of Lisa. She makes the topic so interesting with the stories she tells which some will make your mouth drop open. She has easy homeworks due each week and only a midterm and a final. Highly recommend Lisa

Amazing. The most engaged professor I have ever had. Really wants you to get the material and has great stories and innovative grading of weekly essays to ensure that you do. Seriously the most caring professor you will find, take every class you can with her!

Great professor! Relates everything in the class to personal stories for better understanding. Encourages questions. Research paper at the end of the semester. Due dates are IMPORTANT! Does not respond to emails well, but tries her hardest to do so. Lecture heavy, but her personality is awesome so the time flies! Overall, she is a awesome choice!

Ive taken many classes by Lisa, and I will continue to! This class is notoriously difficult, but she clearly cares a lot and wants you to do well. Was in person, then online due to Covid 19. She continued lectures online. Always said I dont care about the math, understand the concepts. Its not exactly true, the math is difficult. Go to class!

I took both PSY 295 & 230 with Lisa. PSY 295 was probably my favorite class I've taken so far, and many classmates said the same. In psy230, kids were mad they had to do work. It's stats, what do you expect? Yes you have to read the chapter, and read the syllabus to know what's required - we're in college. Loved Lisa, you get back what you put in.

I love Lisa! Such an amazing professor, BCC is super lucky to have her. Her weekly essays were pretty long and required critical thinking. If you don't like to think critically, it could be a difficult class for you. Her lectures are very engaging and she gives awesome feedback.

She is a nice professor, but boy is there a lot of work involved. WEEKLY essays, discussion boards, AND quizzes. Her lectures are interesting and engaging but there is a lot of reading and work involved in this class. Maybe it would be different if class was in person. She gives good feedback as well. If you have the time, take her. I learned alot.

She loves her job and really kept my class engaged with the lecture all of her work is doable and the majority of things can be found online. This class is relaxing and if you need credits, take this easy class.

Professor Delano-Botelho is amazing! Her lectures are interesting and hilarious. PSY 101 required one essay and one quiz per week, keep up on assignments and you will do fine.

Lisa is very funny and very passionate about psychology. While she can be a bit disorganized (grading things late, changing due dates) she is usually very accommodating and I had no trouble passing.

What stands out the most about Lisa is her caring personality. She is also very patient. My only complaint is not about the teacher, but about the textbook used. It was a physical book, unavailable as OER, and I also found that the quiz answers didn't always align with the text in the book. Lisa is the best, though!
