this teacher can't explain the subject for the life of her. all she does is show examples without deriving any of the equations. what kind of crap is that? that's probably why she only teaches the one class this term... also, my sphincter looks prettier than her!
She's not so bad . It could be worse. However, she does not give any credit at all for the work shown on the exams, even if you get the problem half right. She isn't the greatest lecturer either. I advise you that you read the book and understand the concepts on your own.
I really like her; she is sweet. But Honestly she lacks proper learning skills, doesn't really explain, just spits things out on the board. Very little credit for partial work on exams & exams are not easy in comparison to other exams I've seen.
I dislike her skills of teaching trigonometry. She writes her notes extremely quickly. Doesn't allow a student to evaluate a problem before she starts solve the dame problem for you. How a student receives credit on all of her exams is unknown. I highly recommend students to choose another professor for trigonometry.
Trig. is the type of subject where you have to be accurate. Not too much work involved when solving a prob. This is why she doesn't give too much credit on a wrong answer. The amount of selected hw. is reasonable, but you have to understand it. Not the best teacher, but comprehension of the material depends on you. Exams are moderately difficult.
she is such a bi***. I dropped the class 'cause her exams are wayyyyyy to hard. She did not explain the material as it should be explained. She should not visit Dr. Chugay too often because this takes away her time for her to get prepared. She grades on the roughly and on the spot. She doesn't skip anything..but she doesn't explain anything. Bad.
whoever wrote the previous comment doesn't know how to study. the way she teaches is like my previous prof at USC. if you can't handle the way she teaches or grades exam, i suggest you finish your AA degree and get a job at some fast food place because at the university level, she'll be looked at as an angel.
Why would someone who went to USC be taking a Calculus class at ELAC? Maybe because that person can't handle it and doesn't know how to study either. She is okay overall, but in ELAC there are better teavhers that could teach the subject better. This is why ELAC is #6 in community colleges that have a good math program. She doesn't contribute much.
not the best
She is a very caring professor, she really helped the students understand the material. She graded a little harsh, but overall she was fair. She knows her stuff very well and is utterly smart. Take her if you're really willing to put 110% effort and dedication. She'll help if you ask and sees that's you're interested to learn.
Responsible and organized teacher, but self study will be the key to success. Letctures are dry and frustrating because she makes frequent mistakes when doing examples (She does make an effort to correct it however). During office hours she is very patient and helpful. Exams are tricky and she's doesn't grade generously. She drops the lowest grade.

Mrs. Deutsch is one the best professors in ELAC. She shows genuine concern for her students. One girl even said that the class was aimed towards me and my friend. Nevertheless, she grades without taking friendship into consideration, so you earn waht you deserve. You really will learn your math with her. She is quite a genious.
I ps the class. If you want to take math 115.she teached very clearly.
I truly believe that her exams are fair...nothing that u have not seen before in the homework. She is not a genious lecturer because her lectures are quite uninteresting. Other than that, u can always refer to her notes for hints on what's going to be in her exams. She is quite an interesting person overall.
Professor Deustch is a very hard teacher. She is a difficult teacher to deal. Please, save yourself some time and energy and not take her.
I took her class in the summer of 2007. I believe she's a hard grader and gives alot of homework...I never had a problem with that, but she doesn't know how to explain things and she did alot of mistakes while teaching. Also, alot of the material that was on the tests she never went over. I personally just didnt like her.
this professor sucks. she doesnt know how to teach and she can be very mean. i wasted my time taking her. i should have listened to the comments about her.
I randomly picked her because I needed this Math class. I didn't check her ratings and ugh! She's very monotone and there's a lack of interest she has with helping. Her examples aren't so clear and she can go at a fast pace. I do not recommend her!
PLEASE DON'T TAKE THIS TEACHER...SHE IS REALLY MEAN AND BORING!! I ONCE ASKED HER A QUESTION (SHE WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME) BUT SHE STILL IGNORED ME TO ANSWER A DIFFERENT QUESTION...
There are some teachers that should just stop teaching.. I agree with alot of people when they say she is dull and mind numbing boring.. I cry everytime i take a test. Shes not a good teacher. Take Mr. Huong. He's better. I can't belive i been wasting my time. Just means that i have to take it again:(
I agree that sometimes there teachers that shouldn't retired but this teacher should totally retired. Please save your time and money, and do NOT!!! Take her class at all.
Not a good choice if you want to learn anything about math. The instructor resembles more of a burned-out hippy than a math professor. Choose another instructor.
I took her class randomly after not having taken math for 6 years. She's strict with attendance and homework collection, which I've always found to be helpful in a math class. She gives opportunity to ask questions and grades fairly. I highly recommend her to anyone interested in gaining a full understanding of the material.
Tells her storys of how she went from job to job to job until landing this teaching position..no surprise there! Her tests are like this, they are 18 questions and each question has like 5 sub sections!! NO JOKE! Even makes you write summarys! She is not like other math professors I have had, and I have had excellent instructors. DO NOT TAKE.
Dont take her!I am a good math student & when I would review for this class I would understand the material. When she tried to teach she only made mistakes, over and over again. Some of us would have to correct her. I was extremely discouraged by this specific teacher. I havnt felt this way towards math in a very long time.
I want to be honest this teacher doesn't teach nothing she have a lot of errors when she explain in the class nobody understand her class. Student's ask questions to her she gets mad. she don't want to answer to them. The only word she said "I don't know. Some student's correct her mistakes. Every single day.
Worst teacher ever!!! You have to sit up front and kiss ass to pass the class. her tests are incomprehensible and her quizzes are even worse because she changes stuff around even if you've already turned in your paper. No rhyme or reason in her grading scale since she doesn't have one. If you enjoy math (esp if you don't) AVOID HER!!!!
I have taken over 200 units at community college and at a four year university and this teacher is by far the worst teacher i have ever encounter. She may be a generous person in real life but she is a in competent teacher and should consider quiting teaching because her lack of teaching skills really takes a toll on the students who enroll in her
This teacher must consider the students and a different profession. Her inability to be an affective teacher hinder those that are dependent on her to learn and advance to the next level in math. I drop her class and set myself back 1 qtr from transfer by enrolling in her class. Now I must wait till spring quarter to enroll in Calculus 2 again.
She is very intimidating, but she is one of the best instructors. She goes through her perfectly organized material very clearly. She is very fair whether she likes you or not. Pay attention & you should pass her class. She remembers everything! I let her know 2 month before that I had to miss a test, tried to tell her again, but she reminded me! :
she is sooo mean and will not help you. she stares at us as if we're idiots for not asking questions but it is rather pointless to ask and then listen to her speedy and not at all clarifying response!!
She is literally using all examples from the book. I can read! I need real teaching! Anyone can assign homework and any student can look up an answers in the back of the book. If half your class is failing their test, half your class has dropped out, then one may want to think. . .is it my teaching? We need teachers who teach and this is certainly
I had taken Math 115 twice before and I had failed miserably both times. I took her class in a short session (Winter) and did very well. She expects you to learn through practicing the material in the homework. She uses the class time to work out examples on the board where she DOES encourage participation. FYI: The test problems are from the book!
gets upset when you ask questions. test aren't that hard.
Avoid this teacher if at all possible. I understood most of the material until I took her class and became confused. She doesn't care at all if her students retain the information, just as long as they dont ask too many questions. Seriously, avoid. I would rather take someone who has a thick accent than take this miserable proffesor again.
In the real world, you bump into people with different personalities and are one of a kind. Mrs. Deutsch prepares you to work on your own as that will be so at the University level courses. You must do every single math problem assigned. She doesn't throw any curve balls on the exams. Sit at the front of the class. Ask ! I think she was great!
This is was straightforward n theyre really shouldnt be anything u dont get! She uses examples from the book that are gonna be similar to the hw problems so its really not hard n here test are easy if you pay attention! Easy class, take her!
This teacher doesn't really care if you are keeping up with her. She asks you if you get it, but when you ask a question..she quickly answers, but the explanation it just as confusing. If you don't get math, she is too fast.
VERY HARD. I studied like crazy but only passed with a C and im a straight A student (guess not anymore). Basically, she just writes down whatever in the textbook. She DOES NOT teach at all.
The negative comments on here are not accurate. First I am a so-so math student and had to withdraw from her class. She does know her stuff, is clear, organized, and can't get any more simple than what she provides. Algebra 2 is just difficult and people are not prepared for the change in method its not like a hard psych class, its Algebra.
All of her lectures were pretty much verbatim from the textbook. She knows what she's doing but is unable to show us how to do it ourselves that well. An avid student might be able to pass her class with a B but for the rest of us, there are better options.
if you like being stared at when you ask a question, or being made faces at.. then she's perfect for you. also, if you like to learn alone and waste your time during class... she's ur teacher. dont expect to learn much during class, or for her to help you one on one.
She doesn't seem to know how to EXPLAIN things. All she does is write definitions on the board and solves the problems for you, but doesn't show you how to do it. If you ask a question she'll stare at you like it's obvious. Don't take her if you want to learn.
She is a stupid, she doesn't know how to teach at all

Had her during summer '09.Did my h.w and somehow during tests i was deducted points for dumb things..she was a hard grader..i noticed that the ppl that talked to her got good grades..
This is the worst professor I have ever taken or heard of. I am pretty good at math and have Aced my other math classes, but this one was terrible. She seems to be mad at the world and enjoy making things tuff for there. Does not explain anything, and make you feel stupid if you ask, Do not take her at all or you will die! Seriously, DON'T DO IT!!!
Took this teacher in winter 2011....short 5 week class....most everyone has dropped. A very tough grader on exams, ie...small mistake is 1 to 2 points off....will keep you on your toes...her way or the highway attitude.. would suggest to take during spring or fall....be on your "A" game when you come to class....p.s..points off for cell phone use..
This prof loves red and seems to use numbers with trip 6's a ton.... JK Ms. De... She will audit your tests for all mistakes and they are not multiple choice tests. This class was extremely challenging for a basic algebra class and my math skills are very goot. Recommend for the tough lesson in attention to detail.
Shes tough, grades tough, and isn't lenient. Might want to take another professor, only take this lady if you have to n everything else is full
I don't think she was as harsh teacher as people make her out to be. True she does use the text book to explain to the class but that's because the homework comes from the textbook. And true she does get very "red pen" crazy but if you do the homework and study like your supposed to in college you walk out with a decent grade.
I took her for winter2011. at first she seemed like a messed up teacher but truely she was very helpful. i understood her well. she gives out lots of hw and groups you in the end of the class wich was fun. We used 100% of the book and i liked how she would do even numbers out of the book for ex. and hw odd so it helped alot. got an A!! easy
shes a nice old lady she does seem to have favorites in the class. if you talk to her she likes you and wont tell you anything if you eat or use your cell phone in the class. i sat in front all the time and took notes and she chewed me out. i was late 3 times for personal reasons and she dropped me.
I would recommend not taking her, I'm overall an excellent student but her teaching is not good at all.She taught our Stats class exactly by the book and made the tests difficult, her grading is strict... she will mark off for any point (not rounding off enough) small details. At the end of the Semester almost half the class dropped.
This instructor contributes to a intimidating atmosphere, will belittle students as well. Very poor teaching quality, vague, strictly follows book defensively. You get the feeling she really needs to just retire, as she gets frustrated with students. She does practice favoritism. Don't waste your time with her, avoid her like the plague.
what can i say? hard, hard, hard!! i did all the works, test avg.was an high C, at the end i still got an C.a boring teacher.
Wow. This lady is horrible. Its been about 3 weeks and I have become so frustrated with her teaching skills. She literally reads every word from the board and simply copies down whatever is on the book straight on to the board. This is almost like a read along class. Anyone can teach a class if they are simply reading from a text book as they write
She is awesome! Hands down, one of the best math professors I have ever had! Usually I hate math, but Prof. Deutsch explained it in a way that I totally understood. She would go over the material if you had questions, and of course she was a bit rough, but it happens. The only time I saw her be rude was when she caught a student cheating, honestly.
"minus 10 on your nxt exam for looking at your cellphone." "minus 10 for putting your head down" "minus 10 for looking at other material other than math" "minus 10 for leaving" "i m sorry, i just have to drop cuz u absent three times" "i m sorry, i just have to drop you cuz u have low grade"
Never in my life have I had such HORRIBLE professor! DO NOT TAKE HER unless you have the time to teach yourself. Her lectures are pointless. The only reason students show up is because she has random quizes. She will solve a problem on the board and then sit back and quickly read it to you. THAT'S ALL SHE DOES. HORRIBLE!
Took her in summer & she is very helpful. Yes, every1 is telling the truth... She is a hard grader but math itself is hard. Also, if you do take her don't have more than 2 absences for the whole semester. DO NOT: cheat or be late & DO NOT even think about looking or using ur cell phone, because Ms. D is bad*ss she'll drop and tell you know ON SITE!
Pretty fair professor. Attendance vital! She will drop you. Need the text book. Class lectures(evens) homework are the (odds)Do your homework!she drops the lowest grade. group quizzes drops the lowest grade, and exams again drops the lowest grade and get to keep the exams to review for final.pay attention she writes super fast!and ask questions!
Yes, she is very hard & leaves TONS of hw online.. say goodbye to your social life. However she is willing to help you out. The book is very expensive dont buy it just buy the online pin. never did I open my book. & she has a funny mouth...
I am an A student and always polite. I tried to come to class with a good attitude but it did not help. I met with her and unless math comes easy to you do not waste your time asking her questions or to go over her lectures. A class a 70 students only 20 remained. She is very discouraging.
Professor Deutsch seems to have lost her passion for teaching.I took her for a 5 week College Algegra Course and even though i knew what I was getting into, professor Deutsch made it very clear that many would not make it. Discouraging much?!? Only writes on board and reads from the board. Expects a lot but gives little in return.
First day of class, I could tell she would be hard. I've had my share of hard teachers & I enjoy them, but quite frankly she was HORRIBLE! She writes things on the board without even explaining them. How do you expect your students to learn if you cannot help them with the fundamentals? Honestly she is the WORST teacher I've ever had in my life!
She is a great teacher. Many students make too many excuses. Suck it up and study.
she is very clear on her lectures. Her study guides are extremely helpful, if you are willing to do the work and show up to class you will be fine.
I got an A I learned a lot from the book not her. she is a horrible professor.
She is strict but as far as mean? no she is not. i like her teaching style but she does move at fast but still very manageable pace. those who don't succeed in her class probably aren't trying.
She is HORRIBLE and MEAN! She doesn't like teaching either. Almost everyone in the class dropped in the middle of the semester. Seriously, don't take her class.
Great professor. You probably want to pass with no effort whatsoever. This is college. Suck it up! I do have to say she isn't great at teaching from Calculus 1 and on so I would avoid her this is not her forte, and that isn't a personal attack on her either. Only the strong serious students survive. It is the survival of the fittest afterall.
Shes a good statistics professor you just have to do your part in the class and adapt to her teaching style and you'll do good.
She is really nice and helpful. yes she can be a little mean and boring, but other than that you should take her. like any college class it isnt easy, but if you work and study youll do good. earn what you get.
She copies everything that is on the book on the board, You need to do the same. Examples are from the book only. Her homework is from the $60 Mathxl program that you need to buy. She does NOT teach the book is doing all the teaching. Just grab a study room in the library and read the book and you'll do fine.
shes a pretty easy teacher all you have to do is show up and do your homework. you won't pass the class if you don't complete the homework assignments. She also drops you after your 3rd absence.
She is really fast and also boring, could be that I took it for winter. She is very picky when it comes to grading. In the middle of the semester about 25 students dropped. Not a great teacher. All she does is write stuff from the book without even explaining it. If you're a fast learner and enjoy math take her, if not don't.
Only does problems from the textbook, which makes the textbook not really necessary because she'll write it on the board. If you study you'll pass the class. She asks if you understand it after every problem which is helpful.
Great professor, although much of the learning can be done with Mathxl and reading your book. Attendance is mandatory. It's a class where lots of work and studying must be done in order to succeed.
She can be a little rude at times, but just make sure you complete the hw & understand the material. And you will be fine
I feel sorry for any student who has Ms. Deutsch if they are not already good in math. Luckily I am, so I am doing well but 1/2 of my class dropped and 1/2 of the remaining class m are failing & will probably drop. She does not like to answer questions. She solves the questions always skipping steps rushing through. I do not recommend her.
She is not as bad as everyone makes her out to be. She is a smart women and she knows what she is doing. You really need to do the homework in mathxl because it explains what she is teaching with more time and detail. She goes fast but that does not mean that she isnt teaching the material correctly. If you listen& do the homework you will do fine.
Be good with math, a fast learner, do your homework. A lot of homework, all online! She teaches very fast, does only problems from the textbook, so you need the book to review later. She's not mean and NOT helpful if you have questions. I've seen her roll her eyes at students and get angry for asking questions.
She is the worst professor I've ever had. She will go through an entire chapter in just one class session. She will skip steps during lecture and and already expect you to know how she got an answer. After class I asked for help and her answer was "The math lab is still open" She is also very strict on attendance she often ridicule those who misd
She's not very nice when you ask for help, can be a bit condescending when you do ask. She goes thru the material fast, and expects you to keep up. She'll walk around and ask if anyone needs help but she dsntt explain steps. She assumes everyone took math 115 @ ELAC the previous semester. Also, her writing is sloppy & gets annoyed when you ask ?.
I took math 115 with her and I'm not very good at math. She's very smart and is clear and to the point in her lectures. Some students have said she's rude, but I took it as her being direct. She made her expectations clear the first day of class and I thought she was fair in giving partial credit even if your answers were wrong.
She is a really nice lady. This was a hybrid class. She would explain how to do the work and the rest is up to you. Attendance is mandatory. She gives quizzes each class. Doing all the homework is a must. If you are discipline, take her. If not, take someone else.
Although there are exam for each chapter, there are only three questions and they are easy. If you do the exercise in the book, you would be fine. But she is not good at teaching and she just copies things from the book on the board.
Her class goes by at a good speed, if math is not your strong suit chances are you wont pass. shes very nice and helpful. explains things a lot, and goes over things. she gives life examples and we hardly used the book because she was very good at explaining, but u do need online homework code. which is expensive. overall amazing (: i
This was the second time I took this class and I passed with a B. She gives a helpful study guide and reviews before the exams and drops the lowest test. I did not like the length of the class time.
Professor Deutch does not care if her students pass her class or not. Have a question? Go to tutoring.. that's her answer. She does not take her time to explain the material and instead tries to rush through the class. Expect to get 8 hours of homework a week. I took Math 115 with her and could not keep up with the homework
She is the best math professor ever! Do your homework and do the study sheets. The class is lecture heavy but than again all math classes are. do your homework and do not miss. Take clean and thorough notes. Ask questions! and do your homework!!!. also do not forget to do your homework! i recommend doing some math problems after lecture. Homework!
If you do your homework and study you will pass. It is not easy but she explains well.
A really wonderful prof, took her for both 115 (A) and 125 (B), and before I was a C- math student. She's a bit intimidating to go to for help or ask questions since she's blunt and serious, but she truly cares and will help you through problems. Don't skip the homework and do decent on tests and you will pass easily.
I took her over winter so we met everyday for 5 hours and she made the time go by really fast. She is a really good teacher I really like her teaching method! she can be very sweet and also very blunt
I feel like if you asked Ms. Deutsch a question then just prepare yourself to be scolded for no reason. Do the homework!!!!! if you don't then expect not to do good in her class because that actually helps your grade and its pretty easy for the most part. She hates decimals!!!!!!!!!!!! she will give a big NOOOO on ur exam if decimals appear.
Her class is super difficult. All she says if you don't know what I'm doing then go back to your text and check for math 115 and add "you might want to consider dropping???? She skips steps, does not explain thoroughly. Even counselors know she is a "tough one".
She goes through the chapters really fast and does not really care if you understand the material. Most people will not ask for help because she looks so mean and mad all the time. I spent many hours on the online program MATHXL (60 dollars) where we did HW and quizzes. I still could not pass the test. I tried my best and still dropped the class.
tests are tough. the lectures are heavy and if you have trouble with a math problem she says to look in the book or go to the math center. she shows an attitude towards students she does not like
Show up to every class, do her homework and you will pass her class no problem. She does a very good job explaining the concepts. Everything she focus on is on the exams. If you learned a new concept expect a pop quiz next class. typically her homework is due before class(helps u study). She has a pretty serious personality, but nice lady overall.
I took her for Statistics. It is a difficult subject but I found the online Math program MATHXL (cost $60 and mandatory for her class) to be extremely helpful. It will become your personal tutor. She is a bit intimidating in the beginning but I continued asking questions and emailing her and eventually you will find she is a very nice woman.
Very difficult to take her class, she expects you to know everything. Also, she hates when you ask questions about the lecture. She'll put you down if you don't know something (that's why you are asking that question). Honestly, I don't recommend.
Incredibly disrespectful towards students. I actually overheard her once talking about a students reasoning for doing bad on an exam as a "Sob story" to another faculty member. She has no understanding towards students and is incredibly unapproachable. Her lectures are confusing and convoluted. Honestly take someone else.
She was intimidated at first many of our large class dropped and we had a small class of less than 10. Half were failing. She is very clear do the homework, get good scores on tests and you'll pass. She gives you good examples from the book. Can be mean to people she doesn't like. Strict teacher. In the end you find she is kind and nice.
Terrible teacher !!! Gets mad when you ask questions, never tells you your grade. A lot of tests and quizzes. No multiple choice answers!! If you dont do the the problems her way she automatically marks it wrong even if the answer is right!Gets mad if youre late. A lot of people drop her class because she doesnt care when its comes to teaching.
Knows the subject well. Teaching pace could be slower.
She is really knowledgeable in her subject. She might seem a little confusing, if you are expecting a thorough explanation (meaning if you ask a Q it probably won't answer your Q), but she does give step-by-step instructions and examples. Do the work, practice, math is a critical thinking skill. You won't master w/o practice.
doesn't explain the work right, jumps from problem to another quick, has the students feeling bad with their math skills.
Teaching is hard, I get it. People don't do their homework I get it. How can you learn if you don't do the work? but it is another when you reach out to her and she tells you "it's right there". She boarders on verbal abuse. We as students don't need this treatment. She is beyond rude. Look for another teacher, not her.
Professor Deutsch can be quite rude. She insists that students ask questions, but when you do, she rolls her eyes and is very condescending upon answering. By the way she answers, she makes you feel dumb if you don't understand a step she took while solving an equation. Textbook required. Frequent pop quizzes. Test's are a huge chunk of the grade.
I took her night class. I am not sure she if she was tired by then or just didn't care. she will go over her notes and if you understand good, if not you are screwed. We had class work, but she will treat them as quizes. She will always ask if we have any questions but will never clarify them
Having previous experience in Trigonometry it was easy to understand her teaching method , but she is very picky about how problems are solved and will deduct points from exams for this. I recommend taking her if you need to retake this class, not so much if this is your first experience in Trigonometry. Homework problems are counted like quizzes
I took her class for Trigonometry and Algebra. She's really fast paced and gets upset when you don't know the answers to her questions. Her tests are extremely difficult. She doesn't put questions on the test that the class practices in class. I would not take her class again.
She was a tough grader, she doesnt care for the students this lady is rude. Dont take her because she wont allow you to ask questions, she wont allow you to use the restroom during lecture, its unfortunate that she teaches because this subject is interesting she just makes it hard for many.
She is a very difficult professor. Students are not able to ask questions or clarifications because she makes you feel stupid. Expects her students to know all the formulas. You must read and understand the material before is covered in class. She is horrible!
She is not the best math professor. Can be a bit condescending when students ask questions. However, the class is pretty straight forward. If youre not good at math and need step by step help DONT take this class. If you are an independent worker and youre decent at math youll pass. FINAL EXAM IS CUMULATIVE!!!!! But replaces your lowest test
Shes not even a tough grader, she expects you to do everything her way that she teaches you and even if you can figure a problem out an easier way from YouTube, shell still mark you wrong. Goes pretty fast in the lecture as well and youll most likely end up watching videos from YouTube that shell mark you wrong for.
DO NOT TAKE !!! Horrible professor & bad attitude.
Loved this teacher. Trigonometry ended up being my favorite class because I really had to give it my all and helped me gain confidence in science and math. You really gotta do the work on your own as it is at the university level. Ultimately, the work ethic required for her class helped me transfer into Ucla and Berkeley. Nice lady. I approve.
Not a good professor, don't know if it's cause it's through zoom, but she is not helpful at all. She literally "teaches" by reading off of pages in the book. All work is done through mathxl. The homework is easy because it gives the option of looking at examples, but tests are hard. Basically all on your own when it comes to learning the material.
Worst professor. Very rude to students who ask questions. Will make you feel dumb. Please do yourself a favor and dont take her.
Asking questions is encouraged and she makes sure that you understand the answer. Grading is tough as she's pretty strict on the method by which you solve things. Sometimes skipping over basic steps can knock off a few points. Homework and practice tests are also pretty different from actual quizzes and tests. Not bad, if you have a good work ethic
im not one to talk bad about a professor but this professor was just straight up rude. when you would ask a question she would literally laugh at you in front of the class. her test are extremely hard & does not correspond with what she teaches during lectures. would not take this professor again !!!
If you have the opportunity to make her go for it. The workload is manageable and she's straightforward when lecturing. Homework is open until test day as well as extra credit practice tests and she gives short quizzes. This professor made trig really easy to understand puls this time I passed with a B instead of an F.
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. SHE WILL LET STUDENTS USE A SYSTEM THAT WILL COST YOU $69 PLUS HER BAD ATTITUDE.
This prof. is not made for online courses! Some profs. do great at structuring classes online - she is outwardly spoken about not wanting to teach for online classes at all. Videos: boring, 40-70 min. long, w/ cough drop in her mouth. H.W.: 4-7 per week, min. 20 questions each. Uses softwear outside of Canvas. Little to no support w/ questions.
I could've used those $100 I spent on some program for homework on my mother's insulin, but I guess her being too lazy to grade is more important. She has staring problems, as whenever I would look up she'd be staring at me for no reason. Very rude, doesn't understand students, you could be dying and she wouldn't give you an extension deadline.
The textbook costs $60 and is an online thing with Pearson, all the homework is done online with unlimited attempts per question. If you're not good with math you're probably gonna have a hard time in her class, although I was having no trouble, a lot of other students dropped.
Do not take this professor. I took her and she was very biased against the guys and women in her classes. When giving group work or tests even if you have the same answers she will give the guys a better grade. She is not reasonable to anything outside of school that you might have.. or even covid. She will not work with you to pass the class.
The professor is indeed very strict and serious. She groans if you ask something and might even make you feel dumb for asking. She kills the fun and community in the class. Do NOT talk or even whisper or she will take it like you committed murder. How I passed: Rev every chapter ,put 3+ hours into the class,Take study guides serious/study!
Took trig in a 5-week summer course. She is a good explainer, even over Zoom, and is focused and willing to answer any question you have. You have to pay attention, or you will fall behind. She is a bit passive-aggressive sometimes, which can come off as mean. Her exams are reasonable and much easier than some problems in class.
Not understanding at all too strict bad!!
Professor English accent is not good.Very Fast Teaching. Run Through All. Couldn't Follow up.
It's hard to understand anything in her class, the fact is nothing is even explained. By the way she teaches, it appears she is learning the subject as we are. Something was incorrect on her notes and it took her some time to actually find the answer rather than knowing somewhat what it was.
She is pretty good and funny. Take her class for Calculus 1
I wish I had more than 350 characters...Just don't it y'all. She's truly the worst, and if you aren't literally Isaac Newton your chances of getting over a B are slim to none. Truly...I'm traumatized. Shoutout to my SI coach though, if you do happen to take it, them and tutors are your new best friends. GOOD LUCK!
she is horrible at teaching. and she will not give you partial points even if its close to the answer. BECAUSE SHE WORKS IN AEROSPACE SO SHE NEED TO BE A TOUGH GRADER THAT IS WHAT SHE SAID.
I do take math class with this professor and she only read and she assume we know everything no, only if you ask she will explain but never explain first which is make it hard to keep up for us everyday (no one can ask about every single thing)
she said that she thinks that someone else had did my test not me so I basically told her that she basically was accusing me of cheating but she denied she then told me she was going to report me and stated that she was recording
retired military here, professor seems to be impaired when teaching (I don't know if this is medically related) she is sometimes combative when asking simple questions and outright argues with students over whats on her sylabus. When explaining algebraic problems in trig she would constantly say "you should know this".
I rather be lobotomized then to have to listen to her yap about her life again. Idk why I decided to not look at these reviews before I enrolled and wasted my money on her class. Don't even bother asking her questions about the math she's trying to teach because she just assume you already know. LIKE I DON'T IM ASKING FOR A REASON!!
