Great Teacher. I would not have pased this class if i did not have drake, She was Amazing. Loved Her. I highly recommend her, she helped each student individually, and worked with me to get my grade up so i could get the grade i wanted. She is also good about being reasonable about missing class due to life.

Her class is highly organized. Her expectations are transparent--no guessing games. Her class wasn't particularly easy, but I learned a lot. She is very helpful.

Had Drake last year for 2 software classes, basically brush up for me. However those who never saw the software before and new to acct'ing had issues, but she seemed to explain pretty well. You have to be 'into' accounting and patient to learn...it will all make sense once you are actually doing work in accounting!

I don't understand all the low ratings -- I think she's a great instructor. She explains the material well and is always willing to provide extra help to students. She is one of those rare professors that seems to genuinely care about her students' success. Yes, she does assign a lot of homework for a 2-unit class, but at least there are no exams.

Mrs. Drake is a great instructor because she teaches and asks students if they understand and if not, she takes the time to explain. Had extra office hours for those of us who needed it and came.

I took Mrs. Drake for 1A and 1B she is a very kind and caring teacher. In fact we have become quite good friends. If your having problems with your grade she has plenty of extra credit to help you succeed. She is also very flexible with her office hours. Only tiny complaint maybe her lectures are sometimes not that clear as she rambles a little.

Excellent teacher. Took tax accounting online from her and she was very helpful; checked student postings daily and responded to emails within 24 hours. If you have to take a class online, highly recommend her. Also took Acctg 1A with her and loved it. Like math, acctg requires practice every day. Not easy, but she will help you.

Love her! I wish I could take all of my accounting classes with her. She is really nice and responds quickly. I took ACTG 1A & 1B with her online as well as ACTG 64B online. There is a decent amount of homework but how else would you learn Accounting online? She gives you an exam review and lets you know what to expect, as well as extra credit.

I had Lisa as a teacher from 1A to 1C and she is a good teacher. Her classes are pretty interesting only if you are willing to learn. Her HW is harder than the in-class problems but with my accounting lab it tells you how to do it. She is very helpful and makes time to meet and talk with you if you are having trouble.

I love Lisa Drake! She is the kindest professor and will meet you any time for one on one tutoring or questions. She is amazing. One of the nicest teachers I have met at Foothill so far!

Lisa Drake is not only a great teacher she is an awesome person. She relates to you not only as a student teacher but as a friend. Great Teacher with open door policy to meet when needed. Lisa is an outstanding teacher; and you really get back what you put into this class. If not, people do struggle; but that's not her fault. Just apply yourself to the reading, really participate in class, and you'll do absolutely fine.

Good and helpful professor. Not really easy though and you have to study and do the practice exercise. Homeworks are easy, and mid-term is similar as homework. Being punctual and keeping attendance is important. You can really learn from her, and many "employers"/"boss" took her, and you can learn from them.

Mrs. Drake is a wonderful teacher plus she's funny! There are learning checks and online homework every week but they are pretty manageable. Confused? Don't worry! Mrs. Drake is willing to help you all the way(fast replies in private msg). She is big on participation and attendance. She teaches accounting and discusses key concepts very clearly!

I absolutely loved her sense of humor! She is able to explain concepts very clearly and takes the time to go over exercises in class leaving no questions unanswered. I will be taking her for future accounting courses.

Professor Drake, is by far one of the best teachers i had. Very clear, helpful, organized. You will have one problem as HW, per chapter and few discussion to participate in. The Exams are easy if you do read the chapters and review her notes. The materials itself is hard, therefore, expect to put enough time 2 undrstnd. lots of Extra Credits

Lisa is one of the best Accounting teacher I've ever had. She's interesting & enthusiastic! She really care about how you are doing in class and willing to help you out, as long as you ask for help. I've had some problems and thought I had to drop the class, because I couldn't attend classes, but she's very understanding. She's very punctual : )

Lisa is one of my favorite professors on campus! She is extremely reasonable and all of the homework assigned really helps you out with her tests. She explains things very clearly and is always willing to help. Learning checks every Sunday! I highly highly reccommend her.

A Good professor. She is willing to help each other in her. Although her ACTG1B class is not easy, an A is attainable as long as you attend the class. She will provide many extra credits. I got three As in her ACTG1A,1B and 1C class. Highly Recommend!!!

Yes, her assignments and tests might be tough. But, as long as you follow her advise and comments, you will be okay. I was never a good student to begin with but, Ms. Drake actually got me into learning. If you want easy course, you should find someone else. If you want to learn something, this course will be perfect for you.

Just received my grade. It is A-. To be honest, I never thought that I would even go near A as I had hard time understanding the concepts did not put enough time studying. Mrs. Drake will be there to help you and to answer your question. Follow her advice, study hard and consistantly. You will get the grade you desire.

Probably one of the best professors I have ever had. Like with anything your attitude makes a huge difference. With a great attitude she can be one of the best teachers you've ever had. You just have to make the effort and not look for the easy way out.

Professor Drake is an amazingly inspiring person. As English isn't my first language, I had lots of difficulties learning and needed her guidance at times. She really is a tough grader but, will give you an extra credit if you show her your hard work. She was patient and very attentive. I think you won't regret taking her class.

Lisa Drake is an amazing professor. She is smart, funny and understanding. I have taken ACTG 1A and ACTG 1B with her in 2015 and I have received A in both of her courses. In order to receive that grade, make sure you read each chapter, do the learning check, homework and take each quiz. Be energetic, happy and most importantly, come prepared!

Accounting can be a tough course if keeping track of everything is difficult for you. She gave EC, semi-easy group assignment, assignments are easy, discussions are easy, her exams were challenging. I hired a tutor to help me get through the course during the summer because the load was pretty heavy but it's manageable. 96%

She is an amazing instructor and is very clear. You definitely need to study hard for your exam. (Reading text book is crucial. Her questions are tricky) I got B+ with 89.9 which I thought she would round to 90(A-) but, she did not. I just wish that she was a bit more flexible with grading but, she is an accounting instructor. I understand.

Good prof to take especially for 1a. She's a tad harder than other professors but it's pretty much the same in the end and depends on how much work you put in. More energy in her class compared to others. Could go over solutions more thoroughly though

Loved her class. She puts effort into bringing humor to the class (esp. for a 8am class). She loves when students participate in lectures. She's very helpful and makes the material clear and understandable. And also gives extra credit on exams and projects (if she really likes your work). Definitely taking her for 1B.

There is a sizable amount of online homework, but this is expected for any Accounting course. Reading the textbook is pretty much required!

Lisa is the best professor I have had at Foothill. Organized, quick to respond, great feedback, almost immediate grading for online courses. She set the bar too high for the rest of my professors.

Prof Drake is a gem. She always responded within a day and she actually responds to your question rather than directing you to the course outline or someplace else. She covers her expectations for the class and makes it clear what you have to do and your time commitment needed. Tests are a large portion of your grade and are tough, study hard!

I took Accounting 1B & C with prof. Drake. The material in both of these classes are a lot more challenging than 1A. Still, very doable though. Tests can be tricky, but you should do well if you read the textbook carefully. Professor Drake is very clear and she teaches with so much enthusiasm(even though it's acct)! Take her!

Very knowledgeable and understanding teacher who understands the challenges of a working professional taking an online class on top of other commitments. Highly recommend, very caring. The course is very interesting if you apply yourself - but as an online class it's very self directed so you will get what you put in.

This course requires little to no time at all each week. 7 quizzes (6 count, 7th is extra credit), 5 discussion posts w/response(very easy). Open book midterm & final (noncum) both worth 30%. Get the PDF of the book and use ctrl-F. If you don't get an A in this class you have something seriously wrong with you. 5 of the easiest credits. CPA TIME!

Prof Drake is such a good professor! Was intimidated at first because I thought I was going to dread this class but she made the materials understandable and is very good at teaching it! There are 2 exams, 1 group project, and 1 written assignment. Also had reading homework due a day before class (fairly easy). ALSO would suggest not to miss class

Professor Drake is amazing! Her lectures make so much sense and she really makes sure that you learn. Even though she gives a lot of extra credit opportunities, she is not an easy teacher. You really have to work, do the hw, and come to class to get a good grade. Hands down one of the best professors at Foothill!

One of my favorite instructors at Foothill. I took Acct 1A thru C, and I'm better in business because of it. That said you're going to need to work. Nothing comes for free in her class. She truly cares about her students' success. She likes to joke and have fun; a rare breed.

Very funny professor but knows her subject very well. Lisa is CPA, very smart and interesting.

Prof. Drake is wonderful! She wants everyone to succeed and very down to earth. Just make sure you pay attention in class and read the chapters ahead of time. I made the mistake in goofing off the first half of the quarter. I almost regretted it, but her exams are very straight forward, you read the materials youll pass the exams.

This is traditional discussion class format except it's online with access to google. 1 paper and 2 test(few short answers & multiple choice q). If you are ethically okay with googling your answers, you will get an A. Discussion is easy points , test q from test bank with all questions can be found online. No accounting is done w/ this professor.

Prof Drake is hands down the best professor I have ever had. In terms of teaching, her lectures are very clear and helpful. I genuinely felt like I learned something substantial and worthwhile after every lecture. She's a fair grader, not too much HW, a few projects. No surprises on the exams. Also, the most caring professor I've ever had.

She is a really good teacher and also a cool person. Good sense of humor, understanding of students, and ability to teach the material. I really struggled with her exams. I recommend making sure you either never miss a class or study the material well since the exams are worth a lot. Gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit.

to be fair, i would say she is fair professor, she does not give students something not do-able. just read, participate,i learn a lot about accounting ethic from the cases, the paper she was grading a lot easier than i think. trust me, i have encountered far worse grader before and she is not. if you put in time, your grade reflect it.

ACTG 1B isnt easy, but if you go to class, read the textbook and do the homework, then youll be fine. Word of advice: take it with Prof Drake because shes great at lecturing and explaining everything and she really cares about her students!

Responds to questions promptly even on the weekend. Everything was very clear and this class was easy to follow in the Canvas portal. My best and easiest online professor so far.

This was her first completely online class and it went fairly well. Class includes homework/study module (EC) every week, few discussions, 1 Group Case Study, and 3 Midterms. The only difficult thing in the class is the first 2 midterms which are are difficult to finish in the given time, but the final is much easier almost as a curve. Enjoyed it!

There were tough parts of this online class - Professor Drake took the time to make videos of some of the more difficult parts that really help. She seems to really care and wants to help and I would definitely take her class again.

I took Professor Drake for Accounting 1BH and 1C Honors. Although the test were quite hard if did the reading and participate in class you should be fine. If you are ever confused Lisa is ready to help during her office hours and she truly cares about making sure you understand the material.

Do the work asked and you should ace the course! Professor Drake has been fair, positive, and caring for students. If you have any issues with the material, just communicate with her and she will be responsive to help you through it! I learned a lot in her course and enjoyed it.

Her lectures are informative and mostly easy to follow even for someone new to accounting. You can tell that she knows what she's doing and really cares about teaching. The only downside is that her exams are heavily weighted so you HAVE to pass them pretty much with flying colors if you want a good grade in the class.

Really fair and reasonable teacher. Accounting is a subject that requires a lot of work and practice and she makes it manageable and very clear cut so youre never surprised by anything. Very kind and understanding through email and shell help you as much as you need as long as you ask for it. Highly recommend her for all accounting classes!

Nice and helpful professor. The content isn't difficult and there is enough practice available. About 5 hours of work per week. The textbook and the assignments can be a bit tedious to navigate or complete at times, but it's not a big deal.

Get Prof. Drake,! She is very nice and genuinely wants you to do well in the class. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT, it is short and helps a lot. Exams were quite difficult and are worth a lot so be sure to study!

She puts time and effort into the information in Modules every week; read it! It is super helpful. Do the extra credits and start working on the Case assignments as soon as they are available.

Lisa is a class act and has a very good style of teaching online. The videos are very helpful and she is responsive and friendly in messages. I never even read the textbook, just watched her videos and I was solid.

Honestly one of the best accounting teachers there is in Foothill. I highly recommend her she is a an excellent teacher, she is very understanding person if you have any troubles. She is always there to help you out if you do need it. Overall, if you have the chance take all accounting class with her I took A and B with but I couldn't for C.

Her class was well structured. Her assignments are due every Monday and Wednesday at 11:59 pm. The homework was a bit lengthy and challenging, but she lets you improve your score until the day of the due date. Also easy to reach out to.

This class was very organized and manageable. The professor's module lectures made everything understandable. You have to purchase the textbook and use it through mylab. There are myLab homework assignments every week and extra credit offered when you do dynamic study modules. Concepts are challenging but myLab offers tons of practice problems.
