Mrs. Earnest makes you think, doesn't just rehash material from the book. The class isn't easy but if you ask questions and try, she'll do whatever she can to help out. Makes the class fun!

Mrs. Earnest worked with my advisor and let me make up work I missed because of home problems. She really cares about her students and wants them to do good. Her tests are hard. You have to use stuff from the book and power points and class and put it together. She even spent time showing us how we could do better in school. She's funny too.

She is a great teacher! She wants her students to think for themselves, and is very helpful. If you do not understand material, she goes above, and beyond to assist. Not an easy class, but a true college science course. Love her!

Prof. Earnest is a great teacher! I would give her a 5 for easiness, but that says show up and pass which is not true but the 3 tests were take home and the final was open teacher.. Tons of extra credit offered! Many students left early every class. If you don't get an A it is really your fault. She is very understanding and works with everyone!

Great! Really tried to help the class, even changing to take home tests. Tried to answer all ?'s. Gave us 5 email addies & cell #, even answers on weekends. Tests are hard for alot of people cause she makes you think-not memorize. Even with Bb and school e problems she kept trying. The other commenter must be crazy and didn't ask for help!

I never had a teacher who cared so much about getting u to learn. Helps u learn how to syudy. PPTS weren't great but listened and changed things if asked. Constantly asked if stuff was understood n if anyone had questions. Even helped me get a ride 1 day! Let us meet real local science people instead of Internet paper.

Taking her now for summer 2 2015. She is awesome. Makes sense when she is teaching... without confusing you or making you feel stupid. Easiest science course to take. Do not be scared to ask questions while taking the test she will help u!! She is a huge help, and cares so much about her students. :) TAKE HER!!

Prof. worked more to help us learn than any other teacher I;ve had. Brought book to life by showing videos of real world happenings, like pollution from lake okeechobee. Tests made to make you think, not memorize, so they were hard. But we could ask questions and she helped. Extra credit helped on tests, not just bozo credit. Really cares!

Took Mrs. E this summer. 1st science class at IRSC. She wants u to learn so helps u learn how, not like high school memirization. Uses funny examples and actual stuff like shark week to help u understand. Extra credit related to learning material n quizzes related to current oce topics. Most helpful teacher I've ever had!

Prof. Earnest wants u to succeed. Took her for bio lab and she helped me w bio class on her own time. Saw her for oce this summer so jumped at the chance. Used discussion board, videos, some hands on and project to get us into the real world. A discussion class not boring lectures. Tests are from all material, not just book or ppt.

Lisa Earnest was excellent. I knew going in that she was intelligent and knew what she was doing(she'd worked in the field extensively before becoming a college professor) and she was extremely approachable. Perhaps a bit too lenient in some regards, but definitely very, very good at what she did.

Mrs. Earnest is the type of teacher that is willing to give you a hand if you really need it and at the same time make you feel passionate about the world around you. The class was fairly easy to complete if you follow simple directions, read the textbook(yes,there is a textbook for the class), read the Power Points, and complete the quizzes online

Prof. Earnest is there for you but her class is a college course. Be ready to work if you want above average grades. Ask for help and it's there. She's also ready to admit mistakes, unlike other teachers. Read the book, go over the powerpoints and take notes and you can do well.

This is a 6 week course and we're half way threw. Ms. Lisa has added more quizzes but by doing them I understood the tests much better. She really cares how well you do.

This class is quiz heavy but you get multiple chances if you turn them in early. Loved the project, which was going to somewhere related to the class. Online 6 week course can be brutal if you've got other stuff going on. She helps you though, which is really nice.

Prof Earnest is great. She seems hard at first, but only to get people aware of her expectations. She gives her students every chance to succeed. She's funny and, thankfully, not always pg-13 (btw neither is earth, and this. is. college). My advice: like learning, listen to lectures, bring humor, and you'll enjoy her class and pass. Professor Earnest has a lot of work but it's there to help w tests. My grades r better because of them. I get others whining. Most r busy on phone then complain about class. I work hard to get gud grades n she answers all my questions n class. Gives lots of ways to talk to her. I text her for help. Grading has been slowly tho. That sucks.

This is her first marine biology class but she has worked hard to make things clear. Has gone over the stuff pretty well. Book is way to in depth for this class so hard to pick out what you need to focus on. You can tell she really cares about the oceans. Am signing up for her other class

Tho it was her first time teaching this class she did good. The powerpoints really helped but you also get test information from class. She tried to relate the book to the real world which helped me. Sometimes got distracted do to 1 student asking off topic questions. Willing to research questions asked in class. The project was a lot of fun.

Class is designed as a college-wide QM class so can be a bit tricky finding your way around. Have needed help a couple of times so emailed her. She answered in about 6 hours! Very helpful, even willing to add more stuff to the class if we ask for it. Tests are fair.

Am taking her oceanography and marine biology courses. Wish she taught more! online is structured but oceanography is more fun (but longer!). learning things i never would have thought about and she relates it to everyday life. One test so far but using class info and quzzes, i did ok. Doesn't look like it's an easy A tho.

I took Intro to Marine Biology virtually with Professor Earnest as my instructor. The class was great, fun, and interesting. I learned so much about marine biology and enhanced my overall scientific comprehension. Professor Earnest would quickly respond to any questions I had, and if you study the practice quizzes, you should do great on the exams.

Mrs. Earnest was a real help for a summer science class. Her class ain't easy but she helps you out. A lot of discussion questions though but if you finish them early enough you may get another chance to fix themn. I really liked the clss.

Took this thinking it would be set up like Professor Earnest's oceanography class but it wasn't. It was a school set up, qm. Was pretty much on your own but if you asked questions they were answered. You could also email her outside of bb and get a pretty fast response. was harder than on campus class.

This is a tricky class, so get ready to study, but she does give every chance for help, including many options for extra credit, and a window of time during which you can redo certain assignments for a better grade.

Where do I start with Mrs Earnest. She is AMAZING! She is very caring and will help you if you need it. Her assignments are SUPER easy. You do not need the book, you can just look up the info you need online.

She is very nice you have to do the exams and study for them or you will fail but she gives amazing and easy extra credit. It was one of the more easy sciences I have had. She was very quick to respond through text and was very nice and understanding. I hope you choose to have her as a teacher 10/10

Start of semester: hurricane but she showed that fit in with class and syllabus changed. was made to give us a essay in last two weeks by administration. She put up a post that discussed it so we could use that. Very helpful. answered emails and texts fast. READ EXTRA STUFF IN FOLDERS! It's on the test! know vocab, prefixes, etc. It helps!

Mrs. E worked hard to make things ok but the entire semester was messed up by hurricane Irma and technology issues. Like someone else said, essay at end sucked but wasn't her fault. Emailed her a lot and she answered pretty fast compared to other professors.

She is a really nice, serious, funny teacher. There is no way you can fail the class. There is so much extra credit and she drops lowest test grade and attendance is a plus for a few extra points. I took Professor Earnests class online, but from my experience she is very helpful and understanding. She responds quickly and wants you to succeed. Do the homework and you will do fine. Also, the study guides help a lot.

Very good prof, interesting subject, very knowledgeable. Participate in on-line discussion boards, exams are on-line except final, not cumulative, available x-tra credit, Intro class so some immature students. Very good curriculum for awareness of oceans' history and also current events. Well worth the time. Attendance excusable if in touch.

I'm not finished with the class yet but already Professor Earnest is above my other online professors because she gets back to you really fast. If you send her an email to her school email she responds in less than a day and she lets you send her emails on the weekends and at night. 25% of grade is current videos. Hoping I do well on tests!

Ms Lisa asked for questions a lot but no one ever asked anything. I asked a couple times and she went back over stuff so I could get it. She grades stuff fast and always get back to you fast to.

Dr. Earnest really tried to get the class to participate but only a few questions were ever ask3d. I guess being in a small class intimidated people. She was sick alot, which put us behind but she made up for it by having an open book final. She really tried hard and I would definitely take her again.

Professor Earnest as overall not bad. She has a lot of extra credit opportunities. Only 4 tests total and each one covers 4 chapters. The course was pretty interesting and not too hard. There is no final for the course but test 4 has to be taken in the testing center. There was also two video assignments but they were super easy.

I took as dual enrollment. Prof Earnest tried to help but people didn't listen n didn't read labs before class,. Person said powerpoints weren't there but they were up the 1st day so they didn't look on bb. She put up extra to help. stayed after to help when I asked her. really cared. It just seemed most didn't work but wanted the grade.

This was the first time this class was taught as QM and Mrs. E. got caught in it. So many videos and ?'s that didnt' relate to them. But she graded pretty fast and responded fast. When the class didn' due well she threw out bad ?'s so it raised our grades. Want to take her for marine biology.

Professor was great. I learned a lot about the oceans that I had never thought of, like how they effect weather and how humans are harming thm. Shes passionate about the oceans and makes you care to.

Lisa Earnest is one of the most real and honest professors I have had. She is a studnt advocate and realizes when the college is wrong, and will fight for the students so that they suceed. I have taken her for Life scence and Into to Oceanography and both times she has given us ample extra credit, study materials, and solutions.

Great teacher. Met with me several times so she could tutor me. Have to go over the material though. If you don't you won't do good.

This was a connect class so no book was used. But the way someone set up the class made it haqve lots of prework and hw. But you got to do the work twice so you could do beetter. Professor Earnest went overboard to help me.

She works very hard to make sure her students do well. Do what she asks, and most importantly do what you tell her you are going to do. Nice and authentic personality, and this is more important now than ever before since we are reduced to email addresses in the VC, minimizing the human element. She did not make me feel like another email address.

This course is one of those QM courses but Ms. Lisa heped me when I got lost. She had a meeting online just with me to show me stuff. The class isn't easy but she wants to help you to do well.

Professor Earnest is one of the best professors I have ever had. She is incredible, she is helpful, and evidently I think I have learned more from her Oceanography class than any of my other classes. Surely any negative reviews she has received is because she's not just going to give you your grade. If you do the work, you will do well.

Professor Earnest is AMAZINNGGGGGG!!! She has helped me so much. I have learned so much from her class, the ocean is so important to our everyday lives and she really shines a light upon that. I don't know how anyone could do bad in her class if you actually showed up, and did the work. She offers extra credit and works with you. Best professor.

Professor Earnest has truly been so helpful. If you do the readings and study the material, you will be just fine. I actually learned so much from Professor Earnest that will help me in life and about the environment. If you're unsure of whether or not to take her, do it. You won't regret it. It's an excellent class and the Professor is amazing.

Great professor who makes things clear. If you struggle through a particular topic she was more than happy to help. Just do the assignments, and ask for help if you need it and you should be fine.

Mcgraw huill makes you do so much homework. But if you do it and ask questions if you don't understand, you will do great. Mrs Earnest was always ready to answer my questions. Taking her oceanography class over the summer.

I've never had a professor who was so ready to help and was willing to mix things up so that I could understand things better. I even got the chemistry. She loves the ocean and makes you see how the topics relate to everyday things. Don't even question it. If you need a science course, she's the one.

I been going thru lots of stuff and this teacher not only worked with me she listened to me. I could email her and talk to her about stuff i'm going thru and she was there. I would have dropped if she hadn't been ther for me. She even said I could stay in touch if I needed to talk. I love her!

Great class, great professor. hints: Read the announcements and emails and do what they say!' Use Grammarly! if you don't and you have too many mistakes you end up with a D on every post. Make sure you check into class when you're supposed to so you don't lose points for absences. A lot complained they had to do it. follow the instructions!

I love this professor! This is the second class I've taken with her. the videos and study guides help. I was lost but asked questions and she helped. Even works weekends.

McGraw Hill is horrible but she made it better by explaining things in class.

I don't get the negative reviews. The lectures she put up weren't required, they were extra study material and helped me a lot. She met me in collaborate when I asked her to meet with me for hellp. From comments I saw it seems like a lot of the class expect to get grades for nothing. Guess homeschooling is different.

Geat prof. Watch the lectures, do the study guides and understand the words and ask for help.

This class was online yett she met with me f2f so she could explain things better. I learn things better f2f so ths was a big help. From what I heard from other students, she met with several and all thoughtt she was great. She even taught me how to make flashcards so that I would be able to study the material better.

Professor Earnest was a super sweet lady. She absolutely knew her stuff and gave very informative lectures. She went through a lot of family issues during our class but she gave us extensions on anything we did not understand. The only way to fail her class is to not do anything. There is a lot of online work but it is very easy. Very understanding

Professor Earnest is very caring and knowledgeable. She wants you to succeed and is a fair grader. I recommend highly recommend her. The class intro to oceanography is very test-heavy as are most science classes. The work load was very mild even for a class taken in fall B.

Professor Earnest uses an online textbook in this course, which kind of makes it feel like a lot more reading than need be. She replies in a somewhat slow manner but she does take her time to resolve a problem. Really simple assignments, tests are a little harder than standard learning material.

Professor Earnest's online class is a mixed bag - while the content can be dry, she genuinely wants students to succeed. Lean on the textbook and use tools like unstuck study for study prep to make the most of it.

Its a heavy subject but the professor is clear in what is required, you would be able to work in other classes at the same time, and wont feel stressed trying to maneuver between other tasks or assignments.

It's an online class which means you're on your own more than if you took it f2f. But she stayed in touch which helped guide me when I got confused. Answers emails and texts at night and on weekends so it helped with my daytime schedule.
