easy "A", you're one dumb lazy log if you do not get an "A" in this lady's class. shes ALWAYS looking out for her students, and has a great outgoing personality, if you an "A" in the class you don't have to take the final, basically her notes are whats gonna be on the test. shes one kick ass teacher

She is great. She really knows her stuff and obviously has a great love for music. Very easy writing option available if you follow her rules.

Its an easy A as long as you attend each of her class to get the lectures. Easy A w/ a little effort.

Class not interesting. Film are not up to date they are from the 1980's. The instruments are not demonstrated from all types of music only orchesta and symphony. It would be better if we were able to listen to jazz or possibly rock. Class need to be more interesting.

I slept in every single class and got a B+. Maybe I would have gotten an A if she knew I even existed in her class. As long as you study the test reviews and songs while scanning through the chapters, your set. Easy class and easy writing credit! You must attend a live musical concert during the course of this class. Don't forget your pillow!

I'm so glad I had her as a professor. She's an great teacher who is very clear & to the point about information. It's a very easy class. Just pay attention to the test reviews she does & you'll ace the tests. I got an A & didn't have to take the final.

I just had her for summer and she is really funny and very cool. I learned to appreciate music so much more and she throws in interesting random facts very cool teacher easy A :-)

Mrs. Gelfand made the class come to life with her presentations, enthusiam, interesting facts about the composers. The videos were extremely interesting and helpful. Mrs. Gelfand went out of her way to help students. Her input gave life to a subject that could have been dull. I would encourage others to take this class.

This professor is EXCELLENT! I loved the way she discussed the history of music; she has a grand passion for music and you can tell by the way she talks about it. She is extremely enthusiastic and never fails to bore her students with a monotnous voice as it is filled with felicity all the time!

She's so easy! All you have to do is listen to the lectures and make sure you jot down what's going to be on the exam and your fine. I got 105% in her class! All you have to do is study a little and that's it. the only pain killer in that class is the writing credit, but everythig else is a breeze!

she is a very understanding teacher who is willing to work with you as long as your excuses are valid.bcc should have her on full time, and i did learn to appreciate some strange music.

cool teacher, her writing credit requires citations, mla format, and foot notes and all that other annoying stuff, bibliography etc. other than the class isn't difficult. she wants you to really enjoy and learn so she makes it simple and appreciative. tests are fairly simple. just do your listening and show up to class. i didn't take notes.

She is a great teacher. This class is an EASY A! Even though I had to go to two concerts, the class was still easy because all the concerts were in the daytime at BCC central.

This professor is the best! She is very understanding. All you have to do is take notes, and listen to your listening list for the test. Her test are very easy if you study.The concert are very easy as well. Trust me at first it looks boring but then she makes it real interesting. She is funny too! Take her trust me you'll like her.

Professor Gelfand is excellent. She knows how to make her class interesting and fun. Trust me you will learn so much. Her exams are easy as long as you study. Her concert reports easy as well. I would recommend her anytime. This professor knows her stuff and has a way of making you remember what she teaches.

Loved this class and the best part of it all is that the chances of you failing is just you not coming to class... She knows so much on music and always has cute little jokes. i must say that ms lisa is one of the best professors i had since i started bcc. she meets the needs of students very understanding. Take her she is the best at what she does.

Professor Gelfand is a great teacher, she is very passionate about her subject. She is very fare with her grades and she tells you EVERYTHING needed for each test. Do your listening, read your chapters and you will be ok, even if you know nothing about Chopin. Take her class!!!!

Annoying & boring teacher. You have to attend two live concerts and write papers about them but it's an automatic A on both papers(1 has to be classical) Missed lots of class. Easy class but so boring. I found several comments slightly offensive. She ****ed and moaned every single class for 15min if something in the room was moved

She is a very good teacher, even tough it could get a little boring if you don't like music. You have to go to two concert and do a concert report. Just study what she tells you before the tests and do your listening and you will do fine.

One of the greatest teachers. She really helps you & makes learning about classical music fun. She's very funny, and gives you insights about musicians lives that the book doesn't have, kind of humanizing musical geniuses. The videos she brings are attention grabbing & make the class even more interesting. Highly recommended course & teacher.

Very passionate teacher. Loves what she is teaching and gets very excited over her lessons. Sometimes rude, no one spoke in the class but her. She is a wonderful teacher, I recommend you take her for the summer, its an easy A. You have to do listenings from the CDs, 4 test(easy) and drop the lowest one the last test is the final. For the summer you dont have to go to a concert and write a paper if you do its extra credit but overall its easy. I got an A

amazing teacher. her class was very interesting and i learned a lot and carried some of her information into my other classes. shes kinda sarcastic but she keeps you entertained with jokes about musicians and with videos. i LOOOOOOOOVED her class. it was an easy A, especially in the summer. just go to class and you'll be fine.

She is a great Music teacher. Knows her work and is very easy to understand. Make sure you do the essays and well, she gives you concerts that you can go to. So there really is no reason to fail on the essay, nor on the tests since she likes to give reviews that are very simple. Good Luck.

Yes she can be rude sometimes. But only to the people who tend to speak out of order or pull out their phones when they're not suppose to. She can be very random and a little off, but she just about everything she says is on the tests and exams. People who fail her either barely shows up, or doesn't tdo the work. She's only good if you're not lazy.

Professor Gelfand uses every second as a learning experience, and assigns work that is simple and enjoyable. I promise that you will not be put to sleep by this immersive class. One of the easiest classes you can ever have. The tests are so easy I could do it with my eyes closed, when your given the stud guide just find the answers and the tests will be madd easy.

If you take the class at south campus its very spacious and not really a "class room" more like a mini auditorium. You have to memorize 5 pieces of music for every chapter and there are 5 chapters. If you enjoy music you'll love this class.
