She teaches very fast, hence, sometimes find oneself trying to catch up. She very fair with homeworks and with the readings, because she explains them well.
She's kinda annoying cuz she talks a Lot but ver clear...her exams wiLL kiLL you!!! yOu HAVE to come to the lectures iF you want to pass them...the homeworks are online and are fair but the exams hardly reflect them or the textbook so reading is NOT enough.
She's very easy to understand, simplying the terminology to laymen's terms, which is not easy to do for a lot of econ profs. I agree that her exams are hard so lots of practice is necessary for analysis. Do the hw, ask questions, and get her previous tests for practice. She is a great concepts teacher!
I was not a fan of her and her teaching. she would get annoyed if you asked to clarify what she said. but i guess it was her first semester
I don't agree with her teaching style. She doesn't like to respond to questions fully and seems annoyed by them. The exams are okay if you go to class. The homework is tricky because the practice is a lot easier than the actual hw, so it doesn't really prepare you. Also, she seems to get confused a lot and not know what she is explaining.
She's really hard to understand and she talk too much. She doesn't know her stuff well. Most of the time she do not respond to students question. Please don't take her class. She's really boring.
Professor George had to be the single most boring professor ever. Not only that but she is unclear and when you ask her to repeat something, she is very aburpt and is unwilling to help. Even though the class was an hour and fifteen minutes.
I agree she is not the perfect teacher but she tries to explain clearly the concepts and she teaches a little bit fast and if you really want to do well on her class you have to come to the lectures and do the homework and read the lectures before class otherwise you will have a hard time in the test which are not that hard.
really easy, and helpful, I have no idea why anyone would do bad in her class
this professor is horrible, rude, and self-centered. she does teach but ts horrible. bad grader, hard as hell tests (even in introduction), her review sheets look like 5th grade problems for a 10 chapter test. HORRIBLE
She is very unclear and she doesn't use examples, so topics are hard to understand, you need to prepare before the class, read the book, because her lecture are not so helpful. she tries to teach but ahe should arrange it better. It is ease to pass the class but to get an A is really hard!!!!
this class is the worst.do not take it. she is so boring, very unclear, her lectures are no help at all. i hate economics now!
STUDENTS DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS, ahe is unclear, extremely boring, complicated exams, (aplia) homework online every sunday. If you get the questions wrong on your HW grades drop. Dont make a mistake
Students saying she is boring is those who dont check key terms and lecture notes which will be given prior to lectures. She talks fast and alot, so make sure you read key terms and lecture note. Do the aplia homework and go to review sessions. All questions are from class note, aplia, and review sessions.

This professor is terrible. In a class of 230 people the class test average does not go above 73%. Please take my advice. i do not think anybody should have to go through this professor because you are paying for the class and you deserve the best. She has no teaching style and is very scatterbrained. She cover six chapters per test only to tes
She is really good! her class notes and homework reflect the exams....just do the aplia homework and attend review sessions... on her exmas, she gives 5 free questions, which means the total % is 110..which gives u 5 wrong answers to still get an A+...she is very clear, and does talk fast, but come regularly to class and she explains everything!
Ugh...so boring! Tests are not too horriable, but u really have to buckle down and study urself otherwise u'll fail. Without our TA I could have had a C for a grade!
Worst economics teacher ever!! If you are interested in economics do notttt take this class and if you are not interested in the class then reallly dont take it! Its a waste of time you dont learn anything!
This class...boring for no reason, its when my most creative dreams came about. I read the book from front to back but her final just tore me up a new one. Aplia, another cause of death although it wasn't that hard so i guess its at coma level. She hates to be asked questions and is more unorganized then my room, which is pretty serious.
Hands down professor George was the worst professor ive ever had at hunter! She is not clear at all, and she doesnt explain things. The TA was my savior because if it wasnt for him i probably wouldve failed that class. If you are interested in economics dont take her. She also goes through her lectures very very fast!BEWARE people!
She is horrible!!!! her lectures are self-explanatory, any idiot and read her lecture and understand it and it doesn't reflect the aplia homework whatsoever! She goes over theories but as far as incorporating theories into mathematical problems... she doesn't. READ the textbook yourself.. u are better off not taking her.
I found Prof. George to be very good. You must attend class, pay attention, and take notes, it is NOT a cakewalk. I imagine bad commentors did not put in the effort needed to do well in a college class. Grow up. You do not have to be an exceptional student to pull off an A+ like I did. Good grades require time and effort, slackers are weeded out.
I found her class to lack direction. She's a good orator, but when it comes down to substance she's lacking. She lectures more than she "teaches" (there is a big difference between teh two). Aplia has the textbook online, which is useful, but I find the homeworks we have to do are poorly worded and are usually my main gripe.
SNOOZE FEST 101 is what this course should be called. She makes a really boring subject even more boring by just reading her lecture slides to the class. She isn't engaging at all and her frantic nature makes the class even less interesting. If you read the book, you will be able to pass the class.
BORING. And the TA was unable to speak English. Despite Prof George's UPenn degrees, she cannot teach -- only lectures.
she is very boring
if you want to be completely board, and not learn anything at all, take her class.
prof cant teach, just lectures. students should not take this class. lectures are confusing, aplia homeworks are online and due every sunday night, exam questions confusing and unfair. review sheets do not help. TA does not help and barely speaks english.
OMG, what did have i ever done to hunter to deserve this? she is the worst WORST professor at hunter. i cannot believe i even survived. No one in the rite mind should take her or even go near her. She is an economist but its useless if you dont know how to explain it to students. her grading policy is not even acceptable. Seriously guys and girls i
Professor George is unable to realize that she cannot teach. Although her introduction to microeconomics is all text book material, the macroeconomics material is unclear and she does not clarify anything, She speeds through lectures and changes her examples without explanation. Good luck.
Professor George knows a lot, but she isn't able to convey what she knows and wants us to know in a clear way. The class isn't easy and nothing is spoon-fed to you. If you're not willing to break your back over studying, then you shouldn't take her class. The class is anything but easy.
She is awful, can't teach. She can't explain or gather her ideas together. She killed my interest in economics. Tests are impossible!
awful, awful, awful!!! what an incredibly bad professor! the tests are impossible and covered way too much information at once. she has powerpoint slide notes, but she spends her whole lecture simply reiterating what she wrote in the notes. please don't take her if you intend to learn something! :(
Hard tests that cover too much material at once. Lectures are unclear. Don't take this class. Save yourself the trouble. Really. I learned most of the material from the textbook and she only made things for complicated for my understanding.
She is far the WORST professor I've had in my life...Makes me want to quit college...She really can't teach for her life...She just talks talks and talks...No participation...Do not ever take this class unless you want to get a C by working as hard as you can...
I don't even understand how she became a professor...
I feel that she needs to pursue a career somewhere else because she cannot teach at all...
AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL. It amazes me how this women is even a professor. Her lectures are awful and she is even worse at explaining situations. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT take a class with this woman. She thinks too highly of herself!
One of the worst professors I've ever had the misfortune to experience (the other being Veronica Gregg). Knowledgeable but cannot teach at all! I don't know how the heck I got an A-, but most of my friends dropped out of that class. Lectures are all over the place and put you to sleep.
Okay Prof. Greorge does know what she is talking about. She is smart and you can tell she is very into her feild of study. But I didn't like the way she taught the class. In the beginning all she was showing was graphs and sometimes she would ramble. But in the end if you try (you need to keep up with reading) you will do well. see her in officehrs
She cant teach, she cant explain well, she doesn't care, her lectures are boring and i love economics but she is horrible, AVOID
Terrible Economics proffesor, tests are difficult and she cant teach. How did she ever become a teacher? Avoid at all costs
She doesn't answer questions well, she's monotone and boring. most of the class winds up leaving halfway through.... its BAAAD..
Many students complain about Lisa but she isn't THAT BAD, yes you teach yourself a lot in the textbook but if you like economics then you are willing to tolerate it. Lectures got more boring as the semester went a long but if you go to her individually, she will answer your questions clearly. Although it's rather boring, it's not all tht bad for me
George may know what she's talking about, but she literally reads directly off of the powerpoint (which is available online) so theres really no incentive to come to class.
She literally teaches off the powerpoints, there is no point in attending the lectures. Her tests are hard, and the online homework is horrible.
The class is extremely boring. She teaches off from the slides which are available online. Half of the class doesnt even show up.. and her exams are okay if you study! The homework in Sapling is hard!!! I go there to sleep.
This class is useless! She teaches straight from powerpoints, her tests are hard, and the homework is also hard and online! Avoid!
WORST TEACHER! Teaches from the powerpoints(which she clearly doesn't review before each class0) Had an intrest in majoring in ECO now any time I see the word economics I get sick
horrible class. taught from slides she barely knew studied so hard for my tests got a 69 and 66. ended up having to do CR/NC bc of how impossible her tests were. do not reccomend
Don't be like me and ignore these reviews to go on and take her class.. you will regret it. I was super excited for this Economic course until I realized who the professor was. Rambles during lectures all the time, everything she "teaches" is literally right off the textbook. Wouldn't even respond to my important email. Thanks bunches.
Rather dull class, and therefore confusing. Too much dependence on slide usage, which are available online. But if you study you can pass the tests. The homework was hard but not that bad, just don't miss any of it. You don't have to go to her class to be honest, but you maybe retain some information. Perhaps. Not really.
Attendance isnt mandatory so dont go because she basically reads over the slides which are on blackboard. Exam questions are challenging and confusing. Take another professor if this is your first ever economics class.
great teacher got an a+ very straight forward
Basically goes over the textbook in class, you don't have to go if you know how to teach yourself. Tests are confusing, has 2 experiments, 2 midterms, and a final. Don't take this class with her if you don't already have a basic knowledge of econ (even though this is supposed to be an intro class).
Nothing at Hunter is easy, you won't be spoon fed like some other schools and this class is no exception. All you have to do is show up and put in some effort and you will be fine, obviously if you do't show up you won't do well so don't pay attention to the reviews if you need the credits like I did. I hate econ but I survived you will too dw
Honestly, this class was the biggest disapointment of my semester. I practically had to teach myself this entrire subject with videos on youtube(and I attended every lecture). PLEASE try to avoid her class!!!
Lectures packed with so much info and slides, but She's not so horrible. I suggest that you actually read the textbook and view slides before class, do homework, and go to the Econ department as soon as you don't understand something. Stop by her office (DURING OFFICE HOURS) even if she seems intimidating. You have to work for what cha want folks.
Her lectures and slides are copied off from the textbook, but she highlights the main and important concepts of the chapter and adds few extra details. Read the textbook, study the slides, get help whenever you need it from the econ dept and you should do well. Its definitely not an easy A class, but if you study and work for it, you can get it.
Super hard class, especially for an intro course. The tests are really hard, even after studying really hard, all I could get was in the 70's. Also very boring on top of that, definetely would not recommend, especially for incoming freshman.
She is absolutely clueless. Standing at the board and she asks us if there is anything wrong. She makes no sense and if you ask her she has this mean attitude, she has her favorites. The tests are extremely hard and don't reflect what we learned. Useless slides/ power points and practically reads off of them, and doubts herself too much, horrible!
She reads straight from powerpoint that is from textbook. Not very interesting lectures half the class is always asleep... Textbook is KEY! You have to teach yourself most of material lectures aren't too helpful. For an intro class it was REALLY challenging. First day was super interesting and then it went south
Prof George is not the best at explaining difficult concepts. This class is tough, and when she has a hard time explaining some concepts you can imagine that it is super tough. The tests are very hard and honestly impossible at times. Group project was the worse, but also depends on your own group. Overall, in office hours she is a nice person!
I would never recommend taking this class, avoid at all costs.
I went to all the lectures and didn't learn a thing. All the material is self taught from the textbook and powerpoint. Tests and homework are hard. Boring lectures, wouldn't recommend.
Unless you're passionate about economics, I wouldn't take her class.
Material was easy and straight forward. Professor George became agitated when someone asked questions. The tutor was more accessible than the professor. Lectures were boring and unnecessary since she sent out the power point in advance (contained errors that she did not see until during the less). Seemed knowledgeable yet unable to teach.
trash professor who reads off the board for her lectures. She gets frustrated when she has to explain herself so too bad if you can't understand the material. Prepare to get a C+ or fill out a CR/NC form.
-She is easily distracted and often confuses her formulas -She likes to run out the door after class. -Her exams are super confusing, since her lecture presentations are confusing -Took her class as a substitute and regretted it -
She is really messy and the first 15 minutes of every class consisted of her complaining about the technology in the room while struggling to use it. She lectures a lot and it is monotonous and therefore, it is hard to pay attention. She gives random projects and I had to learn this entire course by myself. I would avoid taking her at all cost.
This was one of my very first professors entering college my freshman year. Sadly she was also top 5 worst professors I've ever had. Ranking her a #3. She does not teach, she does not listen, she does not grade fairly. Do not even go to her lectures it'll just contradict what's in the textbook. She's wrong, trust your textbook not her and good luck
She was my first college professor and also my worst. She literally read off her slides(which are available online) word for word so there's no need to attend class, except for exams of course. The exams were very difficult, and this was the only class I got below a B in my whole 4 years . That's one class out of forty. Avoid at all costs.
The professor doesn't know how to teach. Nor does she know how to provide examples. Youre better off not arriving to class, studying on your own time and speaking with tutors. All she does is complain and say she knows who's cheating or not in all her classes. The students wouldn't cheat if they were given proper guidance. Stay away
You don't even have to be in class to learn. Just take notes off the slides as some test questions relate to the slide info. Occasional polls and quizzes in class. Test material is hard and many students couldn't even do well on the test even after doing all the hw.
She won't ask for a piece of information in a question, but then will take points if you don't mention it. Asks questions that are open to a subjective opinion and takes points off if you don't go through her exact thinking process. No matter how hard you work in her class, your grade is up to chance .
Although professor George grades with a really generous curve her teaching method is not so good. Her tests also has a lot of mistakes that would cause the question to not make sense. Really difficult to pass this class if you don't read the textbook and watch online videos.
She's not the best at teaching things and sometimes it feels like she struggles to get her point across, but you can get the gist of what she's saying. You will need to do some extra studying on your own time though. She grades alright. When a curve is necessary she'll give it.
Pretty nice professor overall. Will do well in her class as long as you do the homework and understand the materials.
She is a great professor. As long as you keep up with your homework and textbook readings (which you should) and attend most sessions, you will do at least decently. She does curve as well.
ECON 300 Shes really bad at explaining the concepts you need to do well. The material on the homework and exams dont even correlate with each other. She gives practice exams and supplemental study guide but most of it is useless. Half her lectures are useless while the rest are decent at best.
You have to have a good understanding of math to take this class, It will go a long way. Homework is a harder than the exams sometimes, but if you understand it you'll do well on the exams. The slides she provides are really helpful, often more than the lectures. Make sure to put in some work, take notes & practice. She was pretty nice as a person
ask to read a published eco of media's research paper, beside going over the paper, she kept talking abt some related research paper that she was working on,then she mention some other professors that work on similar topic, and her tone made me felt, she's jealous/conveying a sense of unfair?I guess, that the other paper published but her work was not.
Disorganized lectures. Skipped a lot of slides and took too long on some as if not prepared for class. Confusing material and professor would make many mistakes that cost your grade. Did not enjoy the class.
