(WEB COURSE) I went into this class excited; I came out of it completely turned off of English and writing. *VERY* unreliable: No syllabus until 4 days into class (one day before 1st due date); Late returning assignments; Lost first copy of final research paper, 15wks & she still hasn't returned it!

I read the web course review. Are we talking about the same person? I had Ms. Gordon for a lecture 101 class. She was so helpful and always there to explain everything. Perhaps web courses are not for everyone and maybe that effected that review because she is great!

She's very interested in us. I think she enjoys working with us. I love her class, but I think if she didn't like our class, she wouldn't be as helpful. But, she's young and very energetic and likes to give examples to help. And I loved the story, "Devil with the Barbie Doll Flashlight". *smiles*

This class has been a great experience. I've never been in a class where we all like each other, have great discussions and actually really like to come to class. I recommend Lisa to any student who has to take English.

Lisa is a great teacher. She is very laid back and is so helpful. She lets you know exactly what she's looking for on assignments & helps you do your best work.

This class is an automatic "A" if you attend class and do all the assignments(which are REALLY EASY).Shes not strick when it comes to grading essays; people normally got A's or B's. She is also really nice but she can be way too hyper, espically early in the morning

Took an online course with her. It was hard but I did very well. Follow the essay and homework directions and you'll do well. You will only get bad essay grades if you do not know how to write, spell, and use punctuation. Great class!!

This summer it was an 8-week class--a surprise to us all (the only way you can tell is the type is in red online when you register) and Lisa still got us all through it. Lisa is clear and helpful.And as a bonus I really liked all the other students in this class--wide variety of ages etc. Fun final project too.

Took her online class... it is a bit of a challenge, but she is really helpful. Only problem I had is that she sometimes took awhile to get the essay grades back. But other than that, she will help you, give you suggestions... She is a really good English professor. Recommend her!

I took her class on-line. Ms. Gordon's instructions were very clear. If you followed her instructions, you will do fine. The class isn't necessarily difficult, but it is time consuming. she also requires you to do volunteer work and write an essay about your experience.

I took her on-line class. It's easy, but a lot of work. You mut do volunteer service as part of the class. She's very helpful, but can be a tough grader. When she says perfect MLA format she means it! You'll get out of it what you put into it.

She goes through every assignment very carefully and reads all your drafts. There was much more work for this class than I expected but she is cool and I feel better prepared.

I went into this class. It was my 1st on-line class; extremly demanding class. She is strict with deadlines and MLA format. Took forever to grade. Assignments were easy but I did not do as well on essays as I expected.

She is very nice, helpful, and her essay topics are way more interesting than any other english class i have taken. defiantly would take her class again and would recommend her. tough on grading her essays but very helpful when you ask for it! if you dislike writing TAKE HER CLASS, she will spark your interest

I went into this class terrified. Miss Gordon totally helped me over come these fears. She is the most helpful teacher ever. But don't mistake that for easy, because she is tough. She has standards so don't think you wont work. If you do work and you want help, she is there for you.

I was in her web course his spring and she helped me so much! I talked to her on the phone and she was great. If you aren't willing to try then why are are you in college? If you put forth some sort of effort and rant totally lazy, you are fine.

I thought Professor Gordon was great. She helped me with any questions I had, was always pleasant and approachable. I highly recommend those that did take the online course to make an effort to meet your lecturer. It creates a relationship that's more than a name in an email.

Highly recommended. She made the class easy as long as you were there. She laid everything out for you. Plus, she pretty much writes your papers with you. She's also really fun in class. If you get the chance, totally take english with her.

Best teacher ever. I came into this class hating English and I actually ended up really liking the class. Our whole class is taking our next English with miss Gordon this summer. I think I know who the hater girl below is and she missed class and wanted people to explain it all to her. Sorry but you jus lazy.

Mrs. Gordan was the best teacher I have ever had! She was so nice and also helpful! If you show up to class, then you will understand everything and also know what is going on. When you miss class she emails you everything you miss. She also makes extra office hours in case you do not understand something. It also helps she is really hot!!!

Very recommended!! She is very nice and understanding, I don't like English but I actually liked her being my teacher, she was very easy to learn with.

This class is organized and clear but you have attend every class or you will be lost. She explains every single thing in detail so be in class or be lost.

She was simply eccentric and very sweet. Her teaching was wonderful and i found myself looking forward to her class every day. She brings out her students potential and their hidden talents, i am thankful for taking her class because i have discovered my love for English through her class. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I highly recommend this teacher! She is very easy-going, yet gets right to the point. She is very helpful! I thoroughly enjoyed this class! Honestly the best English teacher I have ever had!! But make sure you attend class so you don't miss anything important!

Tough instructor. She responded to e-mails promptly, just follow all the directions and make sure your work hits all the marks she points out.

As long as you do what is in the rubric for the essays, you will receive a good grade. I had a group project come back and bite me, so just make sure you ask all questions pertaining to the rubric BEFORE you turn in the assignment.

I entered the semester thinking i would fail English, as I feel I am not good at it. I received an A on every single essay, which shocked me. Professor Gordon's class challenged me to write, and I realized my writing potential. There is a large group project if you take the STEM class. Sometimes she gets mixed up while giving directions in class.

I was in the blended class. If you get confused, just go to the class she clears it all up.

Miss Lisa cares about her students and will get you through the class. The writing on the career changed my plan. She helped me figure all that too.

I took her ENGL1100 for Preferred Pathway Scholars course. It was a very easy class. If you show up, demonstrate that you care, and write decent papers, you will get an A. One thing to watch out for: she is a huge liberal and at least somewhat of a feminist, she regularly expresses her views during class. If you disagree don't let her find out.

This class improved my writing more than I could have expected. Science writing is a whole new thing for me, but important for me as I go forward. I was surprised at the students who thought this class wouldn't take work. This class took so much work, but worth it IF you are a science major.

Great class for SCIENCE majors who are serious.

Great class for technical writing. Gordon gives very concise feedback. Sometimes the calendar changes and minor miscommunications result but overall very helpful and engaged in her course. Take this course with focus and plenty of time.

As a science person, chemistry in particular, it was a relief to get to write about something I actually care about. The Lit review is tough. Very tough. Be prepared to work for this. I can see how it will be useful in the future though.

I writing this review to thank Miss Gordon for talking about current REAL issues in class and then having us write about them. I actually cared about my writing. She's a cute little thing but don't mess with her!

Love this teacher! she is very caring about her students. She is very fair with all assignments and she is always willing to help. She gives her helpful feedback if you ask. Treat her with respect and she will do the same. She is one of my favorite teachers here at the college.

She makes it clear in the beginning of the semester that she likes to make assignments very straight forward and they are. Do the work in class, ask questions and you should get a decent grade if you follow her guidelines.

I seriously have no idea how professor Gordon could be more helpful. Some people are lazy and want her to do the work for them. She is ALWAYS helpful.

Mrs. Gordon is a fabulous professor! She is very clear and specific when assigning writing projects and walked you through each step of writing your papers. There is no reason you would not pass her courses unless you truly were not putting in adequate effort.

I took her Composition 1101 class and she was very good professor overall. She made sure that students knew what she was looking for in essays and made sure to give feedback. Her class had a very friendly environment and she was willing to stay after class and help. As long as you put forth effort and keep up with dates you will pass the course.

I just want to start with Prof. Gordon accepted me as a late student and never once treated me differently. My course was online, which she made very stress free due to her consistent amount of communication she provided. Super grateful she was my CompII Prof and would highly recommend taking her!

The review below is SO weird. I was in a full class with her this summer and she did so much for ALL OF US. I can honestly say, we all respect her and are so thankful for all she did for us. The last day of class everyone lined up to thank her . FOR REAL! I've never seen this with a college teacher. Respect Miss Lisa :-)

Professor Gordon is a great teacher. She definitely cares about her students and tries to help them the best she could. Shes willing to go out of her way even after class in her office to give feedback and help to the students that need it the most. I would however not recommend taking her class online.

I would highly recommend Professor Gordon. She can be rude at times but overall she can be caring. Make sure you don't come off as the college student who does not care. Then she will really start to be rude to you. However, her class is easy had homework only four times. All you really do is work on your essays in class.

She was into my topics for my essays and gave me alot of help. She IS direct and my class loves it! Not rude! Funny! I can see how some sensitive younger kids might see it as rude. If youre the sensitive type who misses class dont take this class. If you want to learn how to write papers and do it together in class shes a good teacher for you.

Lisa is hilarious, helpful and cares A LOT about her students. She acts like a mom! (In a good way!) She really takes the time to get to know each of her students. She makes sure each student knows what theyre doing and even offers help out of class, in her office. Instructions are always straight to the point, so this class is an easy A!

This class is crystal clear. As a military person I appreciate all the structure. She also knows everything about Columbus State and was much more help than any adviser. Very good.

She is awesome. Just listen to what she tells you to correct, this is the second class i have taken with her. I waited until this semester to take her Comp II class i loved her in Comp I. Your essays are based on a topic you want to do as long as she approves it and you work on it the entire semester. Again LISTEN TO HER FEEDBACK!!!

Miss Lisa is so clear. Every part of every essay has directions. She does not try to trick you just help you. Read all the material and watch all the videos and the class work makes sense. She really makes you feel like she cares too.

The compII class is VERY straight forward. Her directions are specific and clear. But you have to follow them. If you want to do your own thing rather than follow directions, don't take her class. If you can read and then follow directions and do what you read, you are good.

I am sure that Mrs. Gordon did not agree with me and the ideas I had in my paper.I still got an A because I followed the directions and used good sources. She did not let the difference in our opinons decide how to give me a grade.I like the integrity.I like the straight forward attitude. Follow her specific directions and use good sources for an A

The only thing that would have improved this class is if Ms. Gordon responded to emails in a more timely fashion. Other than that, she gives very clear directions on assignments & if you follow them, you'll do great. Homework is clearly laid out at the beginning of the course & she is overall a great teacher! You can tell she loves what she does.

The directions for this class are SO GOOD. When we had group work I could tell people were not watching video lectures and the writing from them was so bad. The videos help, people, As in they totally write the essay for you. If you are one of those people who don't want to try, you will not do well. You can't fake it and BS in this class.

Professor Gordan really cared about me learning the material. She talks about reallife things and taught me how to educate myself and check facts. I learned about laws and things that I need to care and know about for my future. Thank you, professor.

Professor Gordon' class was an absolute nightmare for me in the beginning. However, once I sat down and explain to her that I was having trouble understanding with just an online class, she switched me to in person. when I was strictly online I was failing. When I moved to in-person I ultimately got a B in the class. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE.

Overall as long as you follow her instructions in blackboard you're basically guaranteed a B she also gives pretty good feedback on drafts

Miss Lisa is relatable. She cares about her students and talks to you as an individual person. I felt like she saw me. She helped me with every essay. I stayed after class for her help. She answered so many emails from me. She is very caring.

Easiest class I've taken, very helpful. Tough but fair. Unexpectedly funny.

There are four big papers. She tells you exactly how to do them.She almost does it for you and honestly will find all your research if you ask her to. She has very interesting stories that keep me awake in class.We talk and get to know other students in this class very social.

The writing pertains to your job or future job. It is totally practical and not bs like writing a book report. I took it on the main campus. nice lady. funny.
