Dr. Harvey is an outstanding teacher! We are extremely fortunate to have her as an instructor. Her tests are just what she teaches, no surprises at all.
Don't get on her bad side
Any physiology class is going to be difficult. Dr. Harvey did her best, and I commend her for it. Many students don't like her, but I did. There is a problem though, that I noticed. If she doesn't like you, you might as well drop the class because you won't pass. Not saying that if you don't pass she didn't like you, though.
She rocks...she is a great professor...but if you get on her bad side she will let you know....she is strict but very fair....she is a great professor...if you really want to learn.
She is tough as nails but you will learn your stuff!
A really good professor. Really smart and knows what she is doing.. Just come to her lectures and pay attention.. Easy A if you pay attention.
Very helpful, she knows what she is talking about and has inspired me to do what I'm doing. I also took her Forensic Pathology course, and her class was yet again spectacular. Be forewarned, if you take her class, be prepared to study and know what you are
She is a great teacher. If you study and try in her class...you will pass no problem. Her test are from the lectures. Don't slack off and you will be fine.
She is one of the best teachers in the high desert! She knows her stuff extremely well and is willing to go the extra mile. The physiology material is hard, but she makes it fun and easy to learn. She is constantly relating the lectures to the real world! It is so cool to find out why things happen when you do certain stuff- take her class you'll know what I mean! If you study and pay attention you'll do just fine! Have fun!!
Dr. Harvey is an awesome teacher and she definitely knows what she is talking about. She loves her job, and it shows in her teaching style. My only complaint is her tests, which were out of this world difficult. Always ask her for help if you need it because she is the best one to ask for answers to your questions about the class.
She is just so damn awsome, when your done with any class with Dr. Harvey you know every aspect of that subject. Dont get me wrong she is hard, but she helps you get through the class. Her lectures are very detailed. She is just the best teacher her.
Dr Harvey is an AWESOME teacher. She has been through so much and has soooo many cool stories that she shares. Admittedly the class is hard, but that is just the nature of the class. I would highly recommend taking her for Physiology
BY FAR THE BEST TEACHER AT VVC
BEST TEACHER AT VVC!!! STRICT, BUT IF YOU STUDY STUDY STUDY... YOU WILL GET AN EASY A!!!!!!
She was an awesome teacher and i learned so much from her. take her forensic pathology class its really interesting! and good!
She is an amazing teacher! I learned so much from her teaching Principals of Heredity. It was a great class. She is so knowledageable. Hard tests, so study and so all her work. No homework.
AWESOME TEACHER!!! Dr. Harvey is an excellent teacher and is very funny and interesting. This was my favorite class! It was a difficult class, which is understandable because Physiology is the in depth study of how your body works. So study hard...and enjoy it. The more you enjoy it, the easier it gets. :)
Amazing teacher. I don't the comments about getting on her bad side. I think maybe she doesn't like the students that are crappy in the first place. She likes the students that study hard. If she doesn't like you, try being more dedicated.
The absolute best teacher at VVC! I think she doesn't like students who don't study and that's how you get on her bad side. If she doesn't like you, study more!!
Best science teacher at VVC made physio so interesting
Great teacher! The class is really hard, but that's to be expected. The essay exams are hard, but if you know you're stuff they're not that bad. If you're going into nursing, she's a great instructor to take, because she makes sure that you know how what you're learning is going to be applied in the medical field.
Misses lots of class so everything is crammed when its material that warrants a thorough presentation. Doesn't offer help for essay exams, so if u are not a novelist u will suffer. She is outgoing, so you won't fall asleep during lecture, but she skips out on labs and leaves you with a assistant that is unable to answer questions. Good luck.
Dr. Harvey is a great teacher. The class is challenging, but as long as you study, a lot, you will do well. Really concentrate on the essays, they will help you get better grades on the tests.
Dr. Harveys physio is by far the HARDEST class! You have to attend class in order to understand everything. And STUDY TONS! SHE IS A GREAT TEACHER, PROB ONE OF THE BEST! Only bad thing is she misses alot of class, which could mean cramming in the end. Record her lectures and then listen to them before exams! Overall- she is an awesome teacher.
NOT THAT HARD...of course if u study. tip: come to class, record lectures (will save your grade) and study!)..i didnt really read the book, just referred to it once in awhile.for essays write down details and eveything she says..if u do, no need for tutor. i got an A (i usually dnt get As) goodluck, she's awesome :)
Dr Harvey is a very hard professor. But most of the people taking her class are going into the medical field. She makes sure you know your stuff, but wants it done completely right, room for no errors. If you study hard, and take lots of notes you will pass the class. But it DOES take WORK!!!
Dr. Harvey has been the best professor I have had in the 2 years I have attended VVC. She is hard and it is a lot of work with numerous hours of studying but if u are ready for the class and put in the time and effort, you will do fine. I got an A in the class but it was a lot of studying. If you have any questions she will help you.
Great teacher!
Dr Harvey is by far the best teacher I have had at vvc. Physio is a very hard subject but she teaches in a ay that you will not only understand the topic but will remember it. Her tests include Written "essays" but dont let that scare you off. just write out the essay ahead of time and study that for the essay portion.
A wonderful woman. She is so knowledgeable in the subject at hand. She is a very busy woman and will miss class quite often, though. This is a very difficult class, but if you study you will do just fine. Her essays can be easy if you write them out first and memorize them. I would recommend her to anyone needing to take physiology!!!
Misses class & allows disruptions a lot. She's also way biased & arrogant. Tips: use a recorder, take good notes, copy diagrams, practice your essays, use spelling insurance, if needed. Ignore her BS. Stay focused on the subject & what's needed for exams. Don't ignore "pop" & lab quizzes - they add up. Devote plenty of time & effort to this class!
The most fascinating professor you will ever meet. She is intelligent, witty, and easy on the eyes. You will be mesmerized by her stories. Take her.
She is the best!! It is VERY important that you study often! This class is tough, but you will NEVER forget anything from this class after taking her exams.... be prepared to remember and write a lot!
BEST TEACHER!! if your getting into health care, she is mandatory. Prepare to write 4-8 page essays. But, you will remember everything. My tips: record lecture, listen and write your own notes and pre write your essays at least a week before Exam. She has brought out the best in me. You will not be disappointed
the best of the best
Dr. Harvey is simply AMAZING!!! she knows her stuff!!! and encouraged me to attend Loma Linda University, and I did!!! and now I am a junior level nursing student in their BSN program and I am so appreciative of everything she taught me!!! she is perfect for nursing school, she teaches you exactly what you need to know!
Most amazing teacher/person I have ever met! The class is difficult, but if you set your mind to it and try, you will do fine. Everything is in essay form, but she is preparing you for classes higher than community college! Without her I would not have been able to get into Thomas Jefferson Medical University! Wish all teachers were like her!!!
BY FAR ONE OF THE BEST TEACHERS AT VVC!! she truly loves what she does! I took her for medicolegal pathology and while it was a bit difficult her class is well worth it! u will not only learn but remember the course material. I will be taking her physiology class with no hesitation
Dr. Harvey is AMAZING! She is very helpful and teaches you EXACTLY what you need to know to pass her class with and A. This class isn't easy in itself, but she makes everything make sense, you will never forget the material you learn in her class. Her multiple choice questions are hard, but I got mostly C's and aced her essays, got an A! MUST TAKE.
Harvey was by far the most interesting and helpful teacher I've had. She tells you exactly what you need to know for your test and essays. It would help to record each lecture, because everything she says needs to be explained on her essay questions.
Dr. Harvey is an amazing professor. She explains things clearly and is very interesting. Her multiple choice exams are difficult, but her essays were easy. Listen to her podcasts, review her slides and reference the book. I passed with an A but I put in the work. She has everything available to you on her website.
Took her class Summer 2013 an amazing teacher, very helpful, clear, enjoyed the class thoroughly!! Would recommend! Taking Pathophysiology now!
Awesome teacher! learnt so much in her classes! I highly recommend!
Dr. Harvey was very hard. She didn't show up to class 5 times, changed every single test date and is very unorganized. She is clear on what she teaches, but her tests aren't always on what she teaches. I had to teach myself most of the time. I recommend taking another teacher.
Dr. Harvey is a wonderful teacher. Yes, this class is hard because Physiology is a hard subject! However, she teaches it in a way that is easy to understand. She starts from the bottom and explains things step by step. I would highly recommend Dr. Harvey. She will prepare you for nursing school, or whatever your future goals are.
Dr H is entertaining & VERY informative in lecture, which is not req'd but you'd be silly to miss it. Relevant labs, mostly out of manual. Exam content given in class without fail, altho exams include handwritten essays that challenge many students. Give your best & you will do well.
Good presentation of fascinating (but gory) subject matter. If you can't handle images of dead ppl, don't take class, this is all about the ways people die, excluding illness. Good for LE or Med/Nursing majors, since it covers accidents/homicides. Dr H is funny, often sarcastic in lecture, makes class fast. Has many interesting 1st person stories.
Dr.Harvey is one the best Professors I have ever had. I highly recommend any of her classes. Highly educated, Resourceful, Experienced.
Dr Harvey is a great teacher makes understanding a difficult subject very smooth. I took her physio, biological research, patho, and forensic class all were excellent courses!! Highly recommend!
Dr. Harvey is simply amazing! She lectures from power points so the book is not a necessity but helpful for reinforcement. If you are lucky to get in, grab her! She's very resourceful and has stories that will help with retention. I took the class in summer school which was very accelerated but as long as you study, study, study you'll get an A.
Worst semester, class ever. This semester was a complete joke. She missed 6 class days, and would go over very important subject the class before the exam. She gave you unrealistic time to be successful in her class. She put all her students for failure this semester. She is a smart woman, but also very unorganized. Take Gibbs
Dr. Harvey is one of the best teachers at VVC. She loves the sus jest and will make sure you know the information if you want to learn it. She is very helpful and you have to put the work in to pass. The textbook is not required, but I recommend having as many resources as possible at your disposal for studying. Her website is helpful! STUDY!!!!!!!
I really enjoyed physio with Harvey. The class was fun and the labs were beyond easy. Her test were fair because she tells you what the essay questions will be ahead of time so just got to spend time to understand the material. I seen another review that mentioned she missed around 5x but she records her lectures and post them on her website. tarns
The course is difficult, it is a lot of information to retain. She expects you to learn the information as there are quizzes and tests. She brings a twist on the information and has interesting stories from her past experiences.
Dr. Harvey has been by far my favorite teacher here at VVC. She gives amazing and interesting lectures and is a great teacher. She tells many stories of past experiences that ties along with the material. She is funny and answers any and all questions there are. The class itself is hard however. If you don't come to class then listen to podcasts!!
If you are going into a health field & want to be good at what you do, you cannot afford to miss this class. Expect to work hard & study a lot! If you study hard, the knowledge you gain in this class will benefit you the rest of your life regardless of your career. This class will challenge you but the lifelong benefits far surpass the sacrifices.
amazing!!! you will learn so much, but the class is not easy.
She's an okay teacher. You better work hard in this class, and listen to what she lectures on. Her power points are a mess, in the sense that she never tells you what areas of it to study. Her stories are all over the place, it's usually a bunch of lies. She'll talk about whats going on in the world with science, but it's never correct information.
Very helpful and entertaining . She is very knowledgeable, but she does not give all the information you need to take the test. Expect to do a lot of reading and studying on things she never covered. Her stories are hilarious, but that is because she greatly exaggerates or adds details herself. Always fact check her stories!
Most interesting class my whole Vvc experience
Dr Harvey is an exceptional instructor. She truly brings life, laughter, and charisma into the classroom. Don't be fooled though, this class is NOT easy and you will work for every precious point. In order to succeed one must literally live and breathe this class. Tests are 4+ hours long and serious prep for them is required. Great class but hard!
At first I was really intimidated of taking her class. I've heard mixed opinions about Dr. Harvey in regards to her exams. But I went and took her anyway. The class can be tough if effort and time is not given to it. However, I found that pre-writing essays, recording lectures, and reading notes helped me earn that A in this course.
Dr. Harvey is a great instructor. The class is hard and you have to study A LOT but you learn so much. Labs are fun and Easy. Best teacher I have had at VVC so far.
If you are not ready to prepare yourself to live and breathe physio I don't recommend this class .. very fast pace and never know exactly what to study for that is going to be on test . Hardest class I have ever done. And she's big on cheaters so I wouldn't even think about it
Honestly this class is hard but completely doable if you put in the studying and effort. I didn't "live and breathe" physio and still got an A but I really focused on studying for the tests especially the essays. Record lectures and when she goes over test essays. She and her stories are hilarious and she makes the class very enjoyable.
This was probably my worst semester ever. This class is very difficult especially since she's constantly cancelling class. She is not very clear what you are tested on and be prepared to be writing a lot of essays. Also, there is a lot of homework and quizzes. Would not recommend taking this teacher at all, avoid her at all costs.
This class was the most difficult class I have ever taken so far and definitely the most stressful semester for me because of it. She is not very clear on what exactly is on the exams so be prepared to guess. Lots of online work that unfortunately has nothing to do with the class and it's very time consuming. She constantly cancels, do not take.
Turn in all lab & class assignments, for easy points. Memorize you're exam essays and study her powerpoint slides for the multiple choice part of the exams (most of the quest. at the end of her slides are on the exams or quizes). With online Quizes, take it twice to get the answers, then trade with friends. Rewatch her lectures on her website too.
By far, Harvey is the best teacher I have ever had at VVC. Her class is not easy, there are essays and the tests are very thorough. She is always willing to help her students! She relates all of her lectures to the medical field, and she always gives real-life examples of patient care. I definitely reccomend her class.
She is a really good teacher, her lectures are really fun and so are her labs. If you do not study for her exams, nor try to do the connect quizzes and assignments you will have a difficult time. Read material before going into class. It is very helpful. You will have to pay for iclicker for 6 months which is 15$.
I really enjoyed this class. I don't recommend taking her class where she lectures and another professor does the lab. It's confusing one teacher is ahead of the other. Lectures and lab dont match. Hard test, study and you will pass. Doesnt inform you on due dates on assigments use syllabus to help you stay on track.
Worst science professor at VVC. She gives way too many homework and misses too many days. She can be very rude at times when asking her a question.
Super knowledgeable. She is helpful and is a wonderful role model
Super enjoyed this class. Maybe more biology and less anatomy and chemistry in the 6 weeks would have been perfect.
This class is difficult at times, especially taken in a 6 week period, but she is so helpful! She is always there when you have any questions, offers extra credit questions on the exams and her lectures are so helpful. If you take the time to do the work, this class will be no problem!
Took her for winter and the class was pretty easy its just a lot of homework. One thing to note is this class was expensive had to buy a 328$ (book& lab book) also 15$ for the app i reef. Tips go on her website bloodhound incorporated read the syllabus and just buy the lab book in amazon also buy the connect on amazon and You dont need the book
Ive learned so much interesting things in her class, I enjoyed her lectures, does what she can to keep one interested and focused.
Wonderful professor! Tells great stories so that you get a vivid picture of what the topic is. Is caught up in current events in medical field, offers a lot of sources for extra help to study. Uploads videos and study guides in the same place for easy searching. Difficult because its a lot of material to cover, but shes always available for help!
Im so happy I took her for physio! It is my last class and I have learned so much from her. I also admire her very much. She is just awesome and I wish I did research with her before leaving vvc or wouldve taken more classes with her. Im really going to miss her class. Make sure to listen to her lectures and rewrite her essays!
Great Professor. You have to watch her lectures on her own website, which is cool. She is highly knowledgeable. Make sure you like to listen when you take her.
Lecture videos were found online, very accessible. Tests didnt go by the study guides, but the connect quizzes instead. Loved her lectures, informative and interesting. She always answers any questions you have about video lectures before class, she was too busy to help outside of class.
Took her for winter 107 hybrid. Watch lectures and study notes everyday. On top of watching lecture I studied about 1 hours everyday. Passed everything exam with an A exception lab exam. Do the online quizzes !!! My grade went to a B because I didnt do all of them
Dr. Harvey is a very knowledgeable professor! She is firm but for all the right reasons. Her Blood Hound videos online are EXTREMELY helpful when preparing for her exams. You can earn that A if you really want it. WORK FOR IT! Awesome teacher!!
I loved Dr. Harvey and how she teaches. She is very knowledgeable and you will learn A LOT from her if you take her for any of the classes that she teaches. Make sure to take detailed notes, everything she talks about in class will be on your exam. Rely more on your notes than the study guides and power points.
Lisa was a amazing teacher. She has great lectures online, great study guides and in class lectures are great too. Only thing I would say is to ask questions because there were a few times I was unclear on things. Her class is easy if you do all the work. Even if you fail the tests you can walk with a b because there is so much material.
I really enjoyed her lectures, they were captivating. The study guide did not help at all. I did not know why she gave us a study guide that did not have anything to do with the test. The problem is that she is not clear of what is going to be on the test so my colleagues and I ended up studying for the wrong thing. She has too much stuff going on.
This is a class where you need to remember a lot of terms for exams. She is an excellent teacher. You have to watch her videos in order to pass this class. She has a lot of valuable information for those going into the medical field. Be prepared to study. And learn the body from head to tarsels. She is one of my best professors. Always remembered!
Amazing teacher. I took her 107 in winter and 231 on summer. It wasn't easy, but it was doable and I enjoyed every moment being in her class. She has an experience how to teach, so you will remember the info you have learned. Great life stories on the topic she teaches. Take her and you won't regret.
She gives you homework to watch her lectures online, along with online assignments that has 4 chapters a week. However, what really irritated me was that she never went over her videos in class, all we did was take a quiz every morning and our lab work.
Best professor I have had. She does a great job at finding a way to explain something differently if you're not understanding. She makes lectures fun and engaging so the information really sticks with you. If you have the opportunity, do take one, if not more, of her classes.
She gives out too much homework online like Mc connect and online lectures (which she doesnt go over) has you take a quiz every week and then an exam every month. In total I took 5 exams. She doesnt give you all of your points.
I took her hybrid class. She is the WORST at emailing back if there is a issue. She dropped my friend from the class for no reason! He was emailing her for days and she didnt reply. She finally replied and he was screwed over with a ton of hw because she dropped him. Do not take her class. My friend never missed any class to be dropped.
I took her hybrid class for Bio 107. The whole class was reading and taking tests. She would constantly change the due dates for assignments multiple times. My email was flooded with notifications. The bad thing is that some of the due dates weren't changed on the connect website and you'd be locked out from the assignment early with a score of 0.
I love biology and she has managed to make this class my worst nightmare. Take anyone else please. Lectures are so long and outdated, you're basically on your own. She give little to no help. I had taken her prior to the pandemic and liked her style of teaching, I recommend taking her in person. Not online!!!
Please, please, please take anyone else!!!! Her lectures are recordings of her in a classroom, she writes things on the white board and most of the time you can't even see or understand what she is writing. She requires a lockdown browser and never replies to emails. I wish someone would have told me not take her. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR!!!
Professor Harvey teaches science in a way that no other Professor can. Her lectures are intriguing and the facts actually stick. I took her for biology 107 and now I am taking her again for biology 110. I think this is my favorite class ever. She is very responsive and encouraging. She has even offered to write me recommendation letters. Take her!
If you have to take physiology DEFINITELY take Dr.Harvey. She is heavy on lectures but you learn a lot from her. Definitely have to study but taking her class helps prepare those entering the medical field. Overall a great professor.
Best Professor I've had at VVC! Her Lectures are amazing, and you will learn a lot from taking her class. I really enjoyed her case studies she presents; she has a way of teaching that you will remember and take what you've learned outside of the classroom and apply it to the real world or the medical profession. Really enjoyed how she taught!
Responds to questions in a rude manner.
Best professors in my academic journey
Not very help
Worst professor I've taken thus far... Lack of communication, does not respond to messages (if she does, it's a half-and-dry response) no study guides, tests do not match lectures, outrageously expensive lab kit (if we don't purchase it, we will receive a score of zero on each lab), provides no support, overall just a horrible class and professor.
When I first went into Dr. Harveys class I was terrified. I heard so many horror stories. However, she quickly became one of my favorite professors. Her lectures and stories are amazing and entertaining. Her exams are hard, but you definitely gain knowledge. I would recommend her to anyone. Overall, she's wonderful but be prepared to put in work.
People love that she blabs on and tells stories. Great. Sometimes people just lose touch and need to retire, no offense.
I thought the class was going fine until she started reminding me of an alt-right conspiracist, just based on some irrational comments she made. She also made some very dubious claims about health and gets super emotionally defensive about diet claims that are contrary to what all other experts would say - weird for a physiology professor
She scheduled a "guest speaker" which I was excited about and it turned out to be her own daughter...giving bad health and diet advice, looking...unhealthy herself. My expectations for who could get a PhD however long ago have been shattered.
Lectures are really long but I guess that is expected for a science class. I found myself learning more from YouTube videos than I did from her lecture videos. Trust me when I say you must read the textbook if you want to pass. She does not emphasize this enough and will say that her lecture videos are enough when they aren't. Lab kit is also $200.
Look, I'm pretty sure she doesn't know how to calculate concentrations because she was way off on a lab and insi
A lot of writing/case study assignments, a good bit of math is involved too. As long as you pay attention you'll be fine, and their is weekly quizzes. But overall it wasn't bad and I feel your grade is equivalent to the amount of effort you show.
If you can rate her higher than a 2, I honestly can't trust you as a person. I saw her being weirdly rude to people so many times and she kept saying 50mL wasn't 10% of 500mL...but wouldn't explain how it was wrong?? She just seems to be super confident but then when she is wrong she doubles down instead of admitting it
Look, if a legit criminal brought dogs to school, they could get popular that way too.....
I really recommend her. She's amazing at what she does, and you can really see how passionate she is about it. She teaches well and will advise you on what you need to pass the class. Her exams are hard, but it's really close to how they write exams for MCAT/NCLEX.
Dr. Harvey's lectures are engaging and she indicated exams are only based on these. Her exams were out of the book instead, 100+ questions, respondus monitor, & difficult. Exams heavily oughtweigh assignments, even if you have As in the work. She is difficult to contact and often did not respond to inbox for a week. Lab kit was $200.
This teacher is very hard. She will literally give you half points on assignments and discussions even though you have did it the right way. Her instruction are very hard to understand as its very little instructions that would be the reason of why you will get half points on her assignments and discussion. DOESN'T GIVE EXTRA CREDIT!
Thank you Dr. Harvey. Class is heavy on material and exams, but overall you do learn a ton for your degree and future, which is definitely crucial to succeed.
Be aware that this instructor is extremely meticulous, with very specific and demanding requirements. I'm constantly anxious about making mistakes and getting an automatic zero. With the lockdown browser, it feels like she's one step away from doing house visits and a cavity check. At this point, she might as well just teach in person.
I feel like I made a mistake enrolling in this professor's class. Her tests are really difficult, and she doesn't provide a study guide, so you have to study on your own. There's a lot of information to cover, and I'm worried that taking her class will negatively affect my GPA.
The fact that she requires you to download LockDown Browser and record yourself in your own home is excessive. I made a mistake by taking this class. She does not provide a study guide, so do yourself a favor and choose another professor. Her lectures and tests are very challenging.
avoid like the plague. One of those professors that can speak for hours and you will enjoy every minute, yet have no idea how to test their students. extremely complicated exams for no real reason, she video tapes you when testing, wow. all her online lectures are 7+ years old and emphasize points that she no longer uses for testing. AVOID!
Professor Harvey's class is challenging but rewarding. Her lectures are informative, and she's passionate about the material. Studying with tools like unstuck ai alongside the textbook is key to succeeding. Overall a great professor for those interested in the medical field.
harvey is a knowledgeable & respected woman, but you learn quickly that there IS a such thing as a dumb question in this class. exams are taken on lockdown, & everyone gets different ones. there's material on them that she doesn't go over in lecture. do the EC! score 100 on everything else, but get comfy not acing exams w/ lecture material alone.
She is a very good professor in my opinion. I really learned a lot from her class and love how she explains things. I am considering taking more of her classes in the future. Would recommend!
Aside from needing to study for many many hours for her exams, her discussions must be detailed as well. Lockdown browser with cam. Too much work, lectures not related to the exams. Taking physiology class with her feels like taking your doctorate lol.
Class was told to focus on lecture videos ONLY and even watch it a couple times and take notes, but I kid u not, u WONTTTT pass her exams even so. No study guide, no pointers, no extra credit. plus lots of hws, discussions and videos to watch. plus the lab! you need to buy an expensive lab kit $252!! gpa ruined for all.
Take another professor! Run from this class!!
Wish I listened to the reviews out here, I really needed to take this class this semester. I regret it!! I was hoping to keep up with my GPA. Hardest class I have ever taken so far. I think study guide would have been helpful like others say, I mean we are still going to study regardless. The assignments are like for advance classes. like ???
I dont know how she gets high ratings, must be her tbh. I dont think anyone will rate her that high given that this is just a pre req and a one class, not even nursing program yet, but it is so much work. I do all the assignments, labs, and study for exams, read the book yet it is impossible to get a good grade with her exams. something is wrong!!
Most stressful, expensive, class ever! Exams are more in depth than lecture teachings. Responds 2 questions 2 late. Lack of student support. Some teachers pride them self on making sure there students are successful, she could care less. Whole class complained and struggled. Your best is not good enough. DO NOT take this class. Nightmare on Elm St.
Do not take this professor. Her tests are nothing like the lectures and the lectures are prerecorded from her in person classes so you can barely see or hear what she is saying. She also requires you to buy a lab kit that is about $200. She is not helpful when you or anyone else is struggling and a lockdown browser is necessary for online tests.
I know ppl that have failed her class 3x. She doesn't curve, and she forces students to buy a $300 lab kit. Her lecture videos do not match her exams on lockdown/webcam. She accuses students of using AI constantly and also has zero study guides. She's horrible at replying to emails. She's really just above everyone and it shows. Good luck lol
Dr.Harvey is a tough but great professor. Highly recommend taking her in person and not online. Watching lectures before class lecture helped greatly and doing study guides. Offers EC at end of class. Prepares you well for the medical field.
terrible terrible online professor. her lectures are yearsss old and claims everything that is on the exam is based only on her lectures and slideshows, it is not. if you can, either take her in person or find another professor even at a different school if you have to. don't know how she has so many high ratings
any positive feedback on her cant be recent. She seems like she may have been great and involved a long time ago, but now she seems too checked out to care about giving a good grade. Many people were unfairly docked. And she's very rude and dismissive
If you want to make a difference go to the Dean's office.File a formal complaint about this professor. RateMyProfessors isn't considered when reviewing instructors.Complaints submitted after grades are posted or while attending the course is allowed. The more students who speak up,the more likely the school will take action to review their teaching
I had Dr. Harvey for a hybrid class and honestly didnt know what to expect. I seen the reviews and just decided to take a shot. If you complain about her class youre probably just lazy. She's super cool but she is lecture heavy. Opportunities for extra credit as well. Just show up, do the work, and you will pass
Look, I may be weird but I expected a professor of science to care about where claims come from and true, deep understanding of their field. We all go through VVC getting easy As from low quality instructors like this but it's the character that concerns me - just a deceptive person spreading misinformation.
Dr. Harvey is an excellent professor. Although her class is challenging & strict, it is definitely manageable when you develop proper study habits and follow instructions clearly. The course contains four exams, in addition to class labs & DB's. Taking her class further helped me understand the information and has prepared me for future endeavors.
