Lisa is a new teacher at Chemeketa. She knows what she is doing and despite her nervous personality is quite confident and capable. The class is as easy as math can be and she doesnt assign too much homework. Tests are easy if you study and she is always willing to tutor you. Go to class, keep up on the homework and you can get an A.

What can I say? This is one of those rare instructors that loves both the material and teaching. She's a professed "math geek," but she knows how to get the material across for even us students who are rusty at math. She was definately a good choice for Chemeketa to hire. Hope to have her again further down the line.

She is the BEST math instructor at Chemeketa in my opinion. If you have an opportunity to take a math class with her, DO IT! Has a unbelievable passion for Mathematics and seeing her students succeed in her class. Also she is a FOX !

This was a pretty easy class, I took it during the summer term so she didn't have much time to answer questions, but I still got an easy A.

Awesome teacher! Math is completely not my thing and Lisa was very helpful even with teaching a 40+ student body in one class. She likes to joke around and is always smiling and laughing. Any time she is not "all here" she lets the class know what's up. I very much dislike Math and Lisa made it comprehendable.

Lisa used to teach college credit courses at my high school, so I've had her for almost 3 years straight. She is funny, and really knows her stuff. She is always ready to help and explain things a 3rd of 4th time if needed. I love her!

Lisa is one of my two favorite math teachers at Chemeketa. She is AMAZING! She's always kind, ready to help, and never puts any pressure on anyone - which is great if you're a mathphobe like I am. MTH 112 was my third math class with her, I highly recommend taking math with her. She's wonderful.

Lisa's math class is the math class to take. She's very good at teaching and knows the subject really well. Take home quizzes. 1 page of notes on tests. Not too much homework.

Lisa is a good instructor who enjoys teaching. If you pay attention and work well with others (including her), you will do fine in her classes (and you might even enjoy yourself). She is, however, not interested in dealing with students who don't want to learn. I guarantee you will get the grade you earn, no more, no less, if you take her classes.

Had this teacher for MTH 112 in Winter of 09 and she is awesome! I thought trig was going to be way harder. Totally wished she taught calculus too!

Healey is probably one of the best teachers that I have ever had. She is clear in what she expects you to learn. She use to teach at the high school level, so she does a good job of explaining the formulas and concepts. No trick questions with her, she wants everyone to do well.

Explains in a maner for every level to understand. she does not mind helping you after class, test are easy! home work too

Lisa is a very nice person. She is a great teacher who helps evrey one understand what is going on. Math 111 is one of the most failed math classes in oregon, but she helped me understand and get an A. I have a math learning disability, so this is testament to how good of a teacher she is.Highly Recommended!

Mrs. Healey is a fantastic math teacher; the best I've had at Chemeketa. She is very clear and explains things in helpful ways. It's also obvious that she's passionate about what she teaches (which helps a lot to keep my attention).

Lisa is the best math teacher I have had in my life. She is organized and there is obviously a method to her teaching. She gives opportunities to earn extra credit points and gives partial credit for the portion of work you do correctly. She gives take home quizzes, the class works together on worksheets, and there are 3 tests + a final. The Best!

Lisa is, hands down, one of the best teachers I've ever had. I took calculus with her this term and I've never taken a calculus class in my life. I found calculus very very easy with her guidance. If you have a choice,TAKE LISA'S CLASS! I didn't use the textbook much, because she gives so many hand outs,but she suggests problems to do in the text.

I had her for MTH 211 212 and 213. VERY good teacher. She's fun to be around and makes math fun. It really made me excited about teaching math to kids in the future.

I took her for math 111 and 112. If you have some algebra skills and put in some effort, you can easily pass this class. There are weekly group assignments that are completed in class, suggested Hw, and take home quizzes.

Lisa is a wonderful math teacher. I do not recommend taking her class in the math learning center. The "helpers" are NOT helpful.

I took math 112 and 251, got A's in both, she is a great teacher, walk's students through each type of problem, very visual, gives lots of helpful worksheets and formula sheets.

May be the best math teacher I've ever had. Extremely nice. She doesn't try to trick you on her tests, but rather sees that you understood what she taught. Weekly problem sets, 3 tests including the final, and recommended daily homework. You should be able to get an A if you come to class, practice, and stay interested!

She is an awesome math instructor. I would recommend her to anyone. It was always very clear that she wanted her students to succeed, so she was always more than willing to answer questions. She taught in a way that was really easy for me to understand the comments. My only advice is to attend class regularly to stay caught up. Lisa is the best!

Great instructor! Knows how to teach and wants you to succeed. I came into mth111 very nervous about the course but I got an A and never did the homework. She hands out a lot of worksheets for practice. If you are nervous about math, take her! You won't regret it.

I'm not good with math, but Lisa's teaching was so clear that I never struggled. And if you do have a hard time she gives great one on one instruction during her office hours. Before I took math with Mrs. Healey, I absolutely hated the idea of anything related to calculations simply because I never understood it. She turned that around for me. She was thorough, concise, personable and understanding. Pay attention in her class, keep up with the work and you will do well - guaranteed.

One of the sweetest teachers I have ever had. She understands that probably 95% of her class will HATE math and she tries to get us to love it with really fun activities. She's very helpful in clarifying what she previously said and explaining it in a different way. This is the first time I haven't dreaded going to a math class.

Lisa is a wonderful teacher! I struggle with math a lot but she made it a bit easier with her clear instructions. She let me ask questions and never ridiculed me. Allowed notes on tests, which is very helpful if you get really bad test anxiety like I do. I am usually a C student in math but I have a shot at an A or B in her class!

I took this class as a review after having been out of college for 5 years. Prof. Healey is a very knowledgeable and helpful professor who prepares her classes well. Each lesson is accompanied by a practice handout that reduces the need for notes and textbook work. She also gives out textbook questions, but they're not mandatory.

Best teacher ever. Has you do all the math in class as she's teaching and before you know it she's tricked you into realizing how good you actually are at math. Brilliant teacher, will take again for calculus.

Lisa was such a caring instructor, and really made it clear that she believed in me. Differential calculus is hard! But she really tries to help her students understand. Her class was the first ever college-level math class I got an A in, and it's because of how wonderful she is as an instructor. It's a lot of work, but it really pays off.

Lisa is super friendly and helpful! She assigns a fair amount of work, but homework from the book is optional. She goes through material at a slow speed, so if you're independent and like to move quickly, don't take this class. She grades really fair and wants everyone to pass. She is very willing to answer questions and clarify information.

I took her calculus 251 class, and she was amazing. Even though calculus is a tough subject, she taught it with ease. Most of the class understood her, and she's there for you whenever you need help. She's a sweet lady that wants you to succeed. Highly recommend this professor!

Everything is done with worksheets, I think I opened the book once. The class notes correspond perfectly with the homework (which is due once a week) making it easy to do and more importantly learn. You get a lot of notes for the tests so there is no reason why you should fail. One of the best math teachers I have ever had!

Lisa pushes us to work in groups everyday, which is very helpful. Tests are fairly easy and she helps us prepare for them a ton. She also allows test notes. Don't skip this class too often because she teaches the info. super well; learning from the textbook is difficult. Show up and you'll do just fine :)

She encourages group work every class we meet and will take the time to explain something until you understand what she is trying to teach you. She is very passionate in teaching and will make sure every student understand the material before moving on. The tests are very reasonable and allows one page of notes.

I also like the fact that she lets you know exactly what is expected of you and gives you a very specific study guide for tests, so that you know what to expect. If I could take every math class with Mrs. Healey I would! Great teacher, always there to help. As long as you're putting in the effort you'll pass. I have always struggled with math until this class. Lisa helped me out after class so that I would have a good understanding of the concepts. She is an amazing instructor and I wish that she was teaching Math 111. I got my first A in a math class and I owe it all to the extra time and effort Lisa gave.

Lisa is a wonderful math teacher. She is so clear and always makes sure her students are understanding her during lectures. We have homework everyday, but she makes sure you have enough time in class to work on it with other students. If you are an Education major, take 211-213 with Lisa instead of Garth (if you can). Mrs. Healey is an amazing Calculus teacher! Better than most other professors! I wish she continued to teach MTH252-256. She has a clear standard on what she expects from us and how to get an A in the class. 3 Tests and a Final, which you can have notes and cheat sheets next to you. Lisa takes a somewhat complex topic for a lot of students and breaks it down into much easier pieces. Not only does she do an amazing job at clearly explaining everything, but she also is more than willing to take extra time for a student if needed. She also allows extra work to "fix" midterm grades to at least a C, which some find very helpful!

She is one of the best instructors here at Chemeketa, she truely cares about her students and will go the extra mile to help them become successful in the coarse. I actually had fun in this class and was excited to go everyday! Lisa is very clear in what she expects and doesnt try to trip you up with exams. Instead they are very straight forward.

This teacher was amazing, very hands on with learning. Passes out notes and explains the information very well!!! you get 1 page front and back of notes for mid term and final. Mid term and final are worth 400pts out of the possible 640pts, so test are important.

Really nice lady. You can definitley tell she loves what she does. Definitely willing to help if you do not understand something. She goes over all the content pretty fast so it is very important to attend every class and stay the whole block.

She gave you great feedback if you needed it and always was respectful and understood you have a life outside of the class. the way she taught was very easy to follow along and the way she set up homework was easy for people to be able to not be drowned in HW while still learning the material. 10/10 would recommend

Each class we took notes on little worksheets that she gave us to fill in. We were graded on 1 homework assignment a week, and the midterm and final. She taught everything you needed to know in class and she answered every question someone asked. I'm pretty good at math, but I still feel that this class was set up very well and is easy to learn in.

LISA HEALEY IS THE BEST! It is so unfortunate she doesn't teach MTH 252 because I would absolutely take her again. She goes at good pace, answers lots of questions, and really explains math well. Take her if you want to not only succeed, but also understand the information.

I would recommend her, especially if you aren't very strong in math because she takes the time to clearly explain things as well as answer any questions you might have. She is very fair when it comes to grading and allowed a page of notes on the midterm and final. You can really tell she loves teaching.

All the notes you will ever need Healey provides to you via handouts that she goes over in the class. You have weekly worksheets that are basically a consolidated version of your notes. Your grade is those worksheets, midterm, and final exam. She does give you opportunity for extra credit. She makes a lot of great math jokes. Always available.

Lisa is an amazing professor. She loves word problems, but she makes it so they aren't something terrifying. Honestly, show up to class, follow along on the worksheets she hands out & simply pay attention. For the final and midterm you can have a sheet of notes so there is no way to fail!

Lisa is a marvelous professor and human being in general. Her lectures are easy to understand and she is very approachable as a person. Don't be afraid to ask questions inside or outside of class I learned a lot. 10/10 would recommend if you plan on taking Math 251 at Chemeketa.

Lisa is very kind, but don't choose her class because you think her rating means you'll get an easy A. You need to have a good foundation going into her class, attend all lectures, and put in the effort to earn a good grade. Her lecture notes are fantastic! Do the optional textbook problems to solidify your understanding of the material.

I was scared to take Calculus, but Lisa made it not scary at all. She provides worksheets and works through them in class. I didn't have to write notes like crazy the entire time which helped a LOT. Weekly homework, great feedback, exams aren't too difficult, and there's some extra credit. I wish she were teaching MTH 252! Excellent instructor.

I use to be deathly afraid of word problems. After taking her class I understand them &enjoy them more than regular algebra problems! She is truly the best math teacher I have ever had. Of all the math classes I have taken to get here, she is the best. Lots of handouts and all assignments are on a take-home handout. The book she wrote is useful for if you get lost or have trouble with a problem. She likes word problems but she tells you what the vocabulary means. She allows 1 pg F&B for Md-Trm and 2 pgs Final. Good notes a must.

One of the best instructors I've had, if not the best. She makes the note taking process easy by providing handouts that are filled out during the lecture time and the group collaborations actually help a ton. Super caring and a joy to be around, wish she taught more courses. I got more than 100% as a final grade because she allows for extra credit

I really love her way of teaching I'm just terrible at Math in general so I'll be lucky if I get a B. Her lectures are easy to understand and she will walk you through every step and even help you on the side if you ask. The class is group test heavy, you have notes every class, and a homework assignment per week. She allows notes for tests! :)

Great Teacher, Test are hard, Be prepare to go to class. If you miss class its hard to catch up but she will meet with you during office hours and help you. Slow to respond to emails

Ms. Healey is one of the nicest and caring instructors that I've had at Chemeketa. For the online format, she has you print out worksheets that she will go through during class time. She clearly explains things and has a couple of homework assignments from MyMath lab each week. Her tests are fairly straightforward and notes are allowed.

I loved Lisa, she is the best math teacher I ever had! She has handouts that really help with studying later on. You just go along with the lecture, do the online homework (which was really helpful), do the unit tests, and bam! You got an A+. Forget about all of the other math teachers here. I wish she taught MTH111. : (

Probably THE best teacher I've EVER had. You can tell from the moment you walk in her class Lisa cares deeply about her students and their success. She takes the time to fully explain topics and wont move on if there are any doubts. She scaffolds from the basic up to the complex and never tests you on something you haven't seen. U wont regret it

Lisa was very kind. I had already taken this class in high school, so I felt fairly prepared and comfortable skipping a lecture if necessary. Weekly homework is fairly simple, and Lisa provides a lot of helpful videos if you don't understand a concept.

What an amazing teacher! She knows what she is talking about, and goes through each problem in very detailed steps. She does go through examples a bit fast, but she is always willing to explain or work through another problem. She gives skeleton notes, so you do not have to worry about taking your own notes. Lots of homework and tests though!

Mrs. Healey was my favorite professor during the winter term. I loved that she gave out notes for every class and that she would go through them in detail with us. There was a lot of homework but she made sure that we understood everything that was going to be on all the assignments and that we had more than enough time to turn them in.

She emails handouts each week on what we will be learning and makes it really easy to follow along. Very nice professor. Always very clear and ready to repeat herself or go into more depth if needed. Lots of tests but notes were always allowed, even on midterm and final you just need a second copy of notes for the final. Would take a class with her again.

Lisa is one of the most caring and she will do the most she can to help you understand. You can easily pass this class as long as you do every weekly assignment (which are pretty easy to do). You get to use one page of notes on mid terms and two during the finals. She has handouts for you to take notes on every class they are also online.

Lisa is a great instructor, un like most math teachers where they give ridiculous questions lisa likes to make her problems be realistic. She teaches very well and gives out notes she also allows open note unit test which is really helpful. I would suggest if you've ever had issues with math ti take a class with lisa so she can help you out.

My only complaint is I won't be able to take her for more math classes!! She restored my love of learning and changed my entire college experience for the better. She is the best teacher at Chemeketa and probably the best in Oregon. I've never met someone who wanted their students to succeed more than Lisa. I wish we had more teachers like her!!!!!

If you're not going into STEM and just need to meet math requirements, go with Lisa. You will still learn the content just like any other class, but she is very reasonable in what to teach her students and was very clear on what she wanted on the tests. She always wanted to help in every way she could and is such a sweetheart. Take her if you can!

She is very thorough in her teaching methods. Try to get a longer class period if you can, it's nice to have the extra time. I missed a couple of classes but she made the notes she used to teach the lesson available on Canvas, as well as class recordings. She is very willing to help whenever needed.

Professor Healey is a fantastic teacher who truly cares about student success. The class is manageable with her detailed explanations, handouts, and helpful resources like unstuck AI. Attendance is required, but the workload is reasonable.
