Hopkins was great for her first semester. The class was pretty easy as long as you do the homework (which is done online and you get help with guided examples) and learn what the terms mean. She is very willing to help if you have any questions. If you don't understand the homework, she goes over it the next class. She gets the approval

Professor Hopkins is new to teaching, and is becoming an excellent addition to the staff at Weber State. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject, and does a good job filtering what's important and what's not. Bottom line is students need to read the text prior to coming to class, and then will be successful in the course.

She is very organized in her schedules and it made it extremely easy for me to be a good student. She is a great instructor and knows her stuff. She works with you when you are confused and tries to make things easier to understand. Sometimes our thinking clashed and I had to tune her out, but she does a great job explaining/giving examples.

Lisa was an awesome teacher. I have taken accounting before and she has made the most sense out of anyone. She is really helpful and she wants you to learn. I think that you will enjoy her as a teacher.

This was a difficult class mainly due that it was only taught at night and there is tons of material to be learned in just a few weeks. The course will be better next semester because this was Lisa's first semester teaching which made it hard to learn her teaching ways but, by the end she has gotten a lot better in knowing what works.

I think she was an AWESOME teacher. I learned a lot! I would definitely take another class from her. You DO need to put in the time in the homework!! She really wants everyone to succeed.It is a fast paced class. Just KEEP up on the homework, read the book, and go to class. She was my favorite teacher this semester!

I highly recommend taking this class from Lisa. It was extremely challenging, but so worth it. I really learned a lot in this class. Be prepared to spend a significant amount of time doing homework and studying, if you want to do well. Lisa is a Fantastic teacher - She is encouraging and very determined to help students learn. Lisa is a good teacher, but the concepts in this class can be difficult to grasp. Her tests can be pretty hard, but with adequate studying you should be able to do ok. There are 4 papers in this class, A LOT of homework, and in-class assignments for each chapter. Work hard and you should do fine.

Very good at explaining and willing to help out. Lots of assignments outside of class and goes over concepts in class until you understand them in class. It does take work on your part, but Lisa is definitely a helpful professor and good at what she does.

Lisa is really easy to get along with is and is there to make sure you have the best understanding as possible. Attending class isn't mandatory but highly recommended. You'll do really well in the class as long as you take advantage of the help and read the textbook for the tests.

Lisa is hilarious! Definitely does what she can to make lectures more entertaining. Study the chapters and show up to class and the tests are alright. Make sure to study all homework and reread the chapters.

She used Connect A LOT so thats where the most homework came from, but it wasn't difficult, just a little time consuming. Overall, excited to take some more courses from her.

Lisa is awesome! She cares for her students and tries her best to help with everything. Easy homework with hints and 6 attempts per question so that you can figure out how to do it. Does small group assignments inside of class because it's hard to find time outside of class sometimes. I would highly recommend this class

I enjoyed taking Lisa's class, she really seemed to care that we passed and actually understood the information. Sometimes while asking questions she won't answer them straight up but other than that she's not bad. A good teacher to start accounting with. Expect heavy multiple choice tests and easy workout problems.

Lisa is great. Her class is tough but manageable. Read the chapter before class. There is a homework assignment and chapter questions each week. Do those. They boost your grade. There were three midterms and a comprehensive final. She requires an acct review through Aleks. It's actually really helpful.

Lisa is great professor. Her class gave me such a solid understanding of financial accounting. However, I have always been a very studying oriented person, and I personally thought the amount of work required was overwhelming at times case studies, extracurricular events but all of which had good purpose and helped me grow as a student.

This class is very difficult! Be ready to put the work in because there is a lot of homework. I mean a LOT. However, Lisa is a fantastic professor and I would highly recommend her! Class is not mandatory but you will not pass if you do not go. This is hard material and takes a lot of practice. She is very nice and always willing to help.

Lisa is a pretty good instructor but a little bit out of touch with the reality of being a college student. The work load of the class was EXCESSIVE. Tests are brutal and weighted favoring conceptual portions over work out problems. I wouldn't recommend this class, but not because of Lisa, because of the rigorous format.

Lisa is a great instructor and truly cares about her students. That being said, this class was a real challenge. Very work intensive. There were two case studies that take quite some time. The first one took about 6-7 hours, for me at least. Like most ACTG classes, there are 2 parts to every exam-- multiple choice and a workout portion on Connect.

Lisa is one of the best professors i've had at WSU! She really cares about the students success! Her lectures are awesome and help you understand the principles! And if you dont she always solicits after class help! Its pretty regimented but it works really well! She does expect you to come to every lecture but it is totally worth it!!

One of the best professors I have had. She is so caring and willing to help you. The class was difficult, but that comes with the material. Ask for help if you need it, she will be more then willing to help you. I had couldn't make it to class for about half the semester (medical reasons), but she understood and recorded the lectures for me.

Lisa is my favorite professor so far at Weber State. She is a great teacher who really cares about you and will even say hi to you as you see her around campus. The information is a little tough, but if you go to lecture, she explains things perfectly and it all makes sense. Also, reading the online textbook often is a great idea.

Accounting for me was a tough subject. However, Lisa is an amazing teacher. She honestly does care about her students and is available for people who many have questions. She had a great attitude, is prepared and does not waste time getting down to business in class. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone needing to take accounting!

She does a great job at making the material easy if you are willing to jump in and learn the material like you're asked to. I missed a week and learning it on my own while trying to keep up with new material was rough. Overall she is a fun teacher and willing to help and answer your questions when needed. You will have to work for your grade.

This was a good experience for my first accounting class. There were times where she went a bit fast during lecture, but if questions were asked, she would always go back and answer them. She was also very understanding of students and cared enough to help us out. She also had us to small group assignments which really helped to work together.

Lisa is an incredible Accounting Professor, she has had lots of real life experience and only teaches things you need to know for life or for the exam. She always offered help and is always willing to stay late or come early to help you face to face. There is a lot of material to learn and tons of assignments to complete, go to lecture to succeed

I cant say enough good about Lisa! Cares greatly about individual student success. Has group class assignments that she lets us try and then reviews them at the end of class to make sure everyone understands the concepts before assigning homework. Her teaching style made me strongly consider accounting as a major!

Due to covid, the class was over zoom calls and the class was just as informational as if I was in person. She cares about her students and stays after on zoom to answer any questions. During zoom calls she provides hand outs on canvas to ensure students are engaged and learning. One of the best professors Ive had, I respect the sh*t outta her.

This is an accounting class, expect homework, small group assignments, learnsmart, McGraw Hill, lecture handouts, etc. As long as you show up and do the homework you will be fine. Books are open note and lecture handouts so you should probably do those. Although I don't love McGraw hill it actually has check your work which is helpful.

I enjoyed the class and it was difficult at times and easier too. Tests were worth lots of points and were almost exactly like the homework. Pre-lecture quizzes were the dumbest things on the planet. Lisa was very nice and does everything to ensure your success, 10/10 would recommend.

Lisa is such a great professor. She does a great job teaching and helps make the material understandable.

ACTG 3110 with Lisa was fantastic. She is alway readily available to help any student that is struggling. Although this class was difficult, it is entirely manageable. Take the ALEKS assessment serious as it is fundamental to have a good understanding of the concepts from the intro class. Show up to class and participate wholeheartedly to succeed.

Lisa cares about her students a ton. She is willing to meet and get you on track to succeed. The in-class work is super helpful. There is a lot of homework which I do not mind if it is helpful. Some of it felt like busy work that took away time I could have spend studying in ways that help me. Other than that, solid option!

One of the best accounting professors I have had. She gives lecture handouts before her classes to keep students engaged, and they are super helpful for the homework and the exams. Professor Hopkins is amazing. She is so kind and funny, I highly recommend taking a virtual or in person class with her. She goes over everything in lecture, so take really good notes, she gives lots of tips for exams. She is always willing to work with her students to help them succeed. I just adored her this semester.

She is a top professor. Exam 2 hour limit open book but you better know your stuff. Attend all classes to make your life easier. She post handouts and solved work to help you on exam. No extra credit (5 points I don't count).

Pay attention in class and ask for help, she is a great resource.

Lisa is awesome! She's super laid back and does a great job of explaining concepts. She is really good about answering questions and helping with the homework. There are around 3 assignments per week, but most of them aren't that difficult. I would recommend her for anyone taking an accounting class.

Favorite and most caring professor I've had! I missed class so frequently due to chronic illnesses, and was in Lisa's office hours every week to go over missed lectures. It is a tough class, and if you have frequent absences you will struggle. But, she gives you great resources to succeed, you just have to apply yourself. Definitely take her class!

Lisa is very laid back and funny and most importantly an amazing accounting teacher. Passing her class means you really understand what you are doing. Attendance isn't mandatory, but I'd recommend showing up every day, otherwise you'll miss important things for homework and exams that you'll struggle to catch up on yourself. She grades very fairly.

Lisa is encouraging. Exams are hard but she reviews them with you to help you do better next time. She values learning over grades and encourages her students to do the same. She is going to try her best to get you to pass her class but she knows it's still up to you. She is very lecture focused. Almost everything you need you can get from her lectures. She is very open to questions and will help you understand if you ask.

Lisa Hopkins is by far the best teacher I have had all of my college career. She is extremely caring. This class is a 3000 level class which means it will be a bit hard but she does everything she can to help you learn. I would recommend her to anyone. One thing you MUST do is ask for help. She wants to help and cant read your mind so ask for help.

Lisa is the best professor I've ever had! She inspired me to change my major. This class is not bad at all. Exams are fine if you study. The best thing you can do is show up to lecture and keep the handouts to review. She actually cares about her students and will answer any questions/review any tests with you. Professor Hopkins is the best! She is an excellent professor whose real life expertise in the field benefits your learning. Pay attention to the concepts on your homework questions and exams and try to understand the why behind why certain procedures are followed in accounting. Gives a nice study guide to check off as well to prepare of exams.

Use lecture handouts, homework, and student group assignments as study resources. Also a good idea to read through the textbook. I would recommend her to anyone looking to take the class.

Took her for ACCT 3110 and 2020 and she is easily one of the best professors I've had at Weber State. She genuinely cares about her students' success and gives some of the highest-quality accounting lectures I've experienced. The course is rigorous, but she makes it clear, doable, and even fun with her great sense of humor.

I loved her class so much, she's very entertaining and she wants you to pass and do well. Yes the material is going to be a little harder because it's the first accounting class but there's a ton of resources and her class was never boring. 10/10 would take again.
