I learned a lot and she makes it pretty easy and fun. She gives four tests throughout the semester, including the final. There are hw packets due on those test days- so you have forever to get them done. Just do the work, and pay attention in class- you should be fine. She's a good teacher :)

probably the most fun i've had in any class i've taken. i took her for both psych 1 & 12 and i loved it. just do the work and don't slack off. everything is pretty straight forward. she does powerpoint so note taking is easy. the class is also very entertaining. the tests can get hard, but just make sure you know the material.

Hard class. U gotta attend. Do not skip. DO NOT miss a test! (U will thank me for that advice!) Take good notes. Everything on the test is covered in the lecture/assignment/book.

She is AMAZING. Her human sexuality class is hard if you don't try hard enough, but I would totally take the class with her again.

Just study, and you'll at least pass her exams with a B. Must attend classes or your S.O.L but that is the least one can do. She's funny, sometimes goes off in tangents of her Human Sexuality, she's a BOMB teacher overall!

She has a real passion for what she does, she's very clear in her expectations and if you follow them you will do well. My advice: attend class! take really good notes, and start your homework ahead of time, because I promise you it will take you hours to complete, don't procrastinate! Overall a fun class, a lot of discussion and interesting info:)

Really cool Professor. Some funny moments every now and then. Stick through it, never MISS OUT ON EXAMS, b.c. if do, make up will be CUMM. Has interesting information. Only 4 homework assignments, answers are in lecture. SHOW UP and study, you will pass with at least a C =]

shes a really good teacher. hates people being late. tests are on the hard side but if you study then and pay attention then your fine. a lot of notes but very helpful. overall really good teacher.

She's so awesome! Very intelligent/educated in the subject, very funny and makes the class interesting. You won't want to miss any days because she covers a lot of info each class meeting. I didn't use the book very often, but it was helpful when I did. Easy if you do HW and pay attention, tests tricky but you'll do great if you show up and study.

I highly recommend her as a teacher. Ive taken all my courses w/ her. U have 4 hw assignments which can be answered from her lectures. U will take a lot of notes all which u really just need to focus on in order to do good on tests. Be on time or else she wont let u in. She knows her stuff and can make it stick.

I have taken Jensen-Martin for both 1A and 12. She is an excellent professor by far the best professor I have taken at Yuba College. She gives great lectures and will address any questions you have before moving on to the next topic. As long as you attend class and do the homework it?s practically impossible to fail the class.

I've taken every one of her classes, and gotten A's in all of them. She is the reason I am studying to be a Psychologist. She instilled in me a love of the subject and I have never looked back. Her class will change your life

actually it IS possible to fail. i did. but that was when i didnt care about school and i retook and passed. its a relatively easy class. grades based on tests and easy hw sheets to turn in on test day. shes a cool professor and lecture is fun to go to. just do well on tests and those hw sheets :)

I took Jensen-Martin for psych1A and 12, and I absolutely loved her. She really has a passion for psych and her lectures are great. She is the one who opened my eyes to the world of Psychology and I am now a Psyche major. If you have the chance to take her, do it!! Do you homework and study for the tests and you'll do just fine.

I agree with most other's. Make sure you attend class. We did need the text for a few things to clarify the powerpoint. Don't be late or let your cell ring!

If you really want to feel confident in the area of Psychology, have her as your Professor. She knows her stuff! Very knowledgeable Professor with great lectures!

Jensin-Martin is awesome! If you do the homework you'll pass, going to her lecture is important though, and fun sometimes. I missed like 6 days in a TTH class and got an A. If you're willing to put forth the effort her class is no problem, and really cool!

Very great personality, and very straight-forward. She is honest, sometimes brutally, but sometimes ya need to hear it. She really made psych fun! Can't wait to take her sexuality class!

This class with this professor was worth every penny. She is an amazing professor, she knows how to engage students in her material, exciting class and great sense of humor. Very interesting lectures. Engaged students in personal and more relatable approaches to topics, making it easy to stay attentive. Most test material is discussed during lectures, but the questions on the homework are almost identical to those on the test. Honestly not that hard to pass - just do the homework and pay attention!!

Definitely would take again if she taught more classes other than Psych 1A and Human Sexuality. Coursework is easy and not overbearing. Try not to miss a test because the make up is cumulative. She posts the power points online if you miss a lecture. Is a stickler for tardiness and will kick you out if over five minutes. Very interactive class.

Great professor! She is knowledgeable and lecture is fun to attend. Homework is due at the time of the test. No cumulative final unless if you wish to make up a missed test. Go over the study guides. We made posters on a mental illness. She is easy to understand and regularly confirms with the class to make sure that they understand the topics.

Great instructor! Lectures are interesting and cover the material. Homeworks are due the day of each exam. Study guides are provided for each exam and are very helpful.

If you are a tactical learner, this would be the Psychology class for you. It's not completely hands on but she does activities & gives analogies to make the info more clear. Wonderful Professor w/amazing lectures, truly intriguing and funny. Your grade is about YOUR effort, put in the work and you'll do fine. I would take any class she offers!

She was one of the best teachers I have had. I love her!! She makes sure everyone is understanding the material and wants everyone to succeed there are 4 tests and 4 home work assignments that go along with it. I loved this class and having her teach it was very enjoyable. She is hilarious which makes it that much better! I highly recommend!:)

Best teacher at Yuba College hands down. She is straight up but caring. You learn so much in her class and it's simple. You take 4 tests, 1 project, 4 homework packets, and occasionally participation questions (extremely easy). She is the reason why I personally changed my major to Psychology. I took Lisa for General Psychology & Human Sexuality. Great teacher! She's willing to give you extra material to make sure you learn the subject. You can meet her in her office during her hours. She's cute too so that makes learning the material that much better. Hands down the best Psychology teacher at Yuba College. Wish she taught more classes.

I came back from Eastern Washington as a music major. I took two of her classes together and were the most interesting classes I've taken in a while, so I decided at that moment that I would change my major to Psychology and then go back to music. She knows & explains the material really well. You will learn while you're in her class. Best Teacher!

Prof. Jensen-Martin is EASILY among the top instructors at Yuba College. Her style of lecture involves lots of input from the classroom. She ACTUALLY reviews her own slides before lectures, and presents with an exuberant humor that hooks students into engaging in the material. She is the reason I changed majors, I wish she taught more Psych.

Professor Martin is very engaging and good at what she does. Her lectures cover what is going to be on the test. Read all the required reading, go to lecture, and you will do well on the tests. She is very honest and charming. I enjoyed going to class and learning more about the mind.

Best Psych teacher I've ever had. She's extremely personable, and easy to get along with. Don't skip class, she gives points for participation. Homework is fairly easy, multiple choice questions and a short answer for most of it. HW used the book extensively, and some stuff in the book is not included in the power points. Definitely recommend!!!!!!

I really loved this class . If you are taking psychology as major or as just to meet one of your major requirements, I would suggest taking it with Prof. Martin. By no means is it an "easy A" class but, if you listen in class, take good notes, and do the homework you should do fine.

What an amazing professor! She incorporates so many things into her lecture, such as news and other media. Her sense of humor keeps you engaged in the lecture and it is fun to participate in answering questions. This class makes you more self-aware. I would highly recommend taking her! She has inspired me to change my major to psychology.

Professor Jensen is the most amazing professor I have had thus far. I have taken her twice, once for PSY1A and now for PSY12. Her lectures are interesting, class is interactive and never dull. She will truly change the way you see things. She is a fair but tough grader and prepares your for the exams. Best professor yet!

Loved this Professor. Her lectures are engaging and interesting. You can tell she has a genuine interest for the subjects she's teaching. She gives study guides for her exams and the PP slides are online. I definitely see her being big in the Psychology world.

Ms Jensen Martin is one of the best teachers. Simply show up to class. She does random participation assignments in class which really affect your grade. Her lectures are diligent and she places slides on Canvas. Also if you can answer the study guide she gives you on canvas you can pass the test. Incredible person but she grades based on work

Love this professor! Have her for two classes in a row and I absolutely favor her Psych1A class. Amazing at lectures and makes sure everyone gets it, but be careful about missing a day because you could get behind quick. Other than that she's an absolute card, just don't walk in 5+ minutes late! Great teacher, HIGHLY recommended!

Probably the best professor there is. The class is very engaging and very easy to understand. I loved both psych 1A & psych 12. Again an easy class, very laid back professor. Its basically an easy A if you take notes do the little homework she gives. The text are very easy as well. Definitely recommend this class and professor.

Absolutely loved Jensen-Martin. She's a wonderful professor with even more wonderful lectures. She has a great personality for a Psych class, and does an awesome job of keeping the class interesting. Your grade is heavily weighted on exams, though. She's an absolute gem, and I would 10/10 take her class again.

I really enjoy her class and plan on taking her Human Sexuality class. I feel like I'm learning a lot and am going to use a lot of the skills I'm learning throughout my life. Her lectures are engaging, she keeps up to date on current information, and is always looking to make things easier for her students.

I loved Professor Jensen. She was very understanding and accommodating with my own personal issues and always willing to help. Shes super funny during lecture and very down to earth and realistic. She dosent hand out grades, they must be earned. Very interesting class and I'd take her again!

This was by far the best professor/class I have ever taken. Not only is Prof. Jensen well versed in her subject but she has a natural ability to make the class so interesting and informative. I learned so much about life in this class I never wanted to miss a minute of it. I cannot reccomend enough! Take this class youll be happy you did.

Clear and thorough lectures

Professor Jensen was great. She really enjoys teaching psychology and it shows. The class was very interesting and engaging. She offers extra credit opportunities. She is also very helpful if you are struggling to understand something go see her in her office hour.

Honestly, such a good soul. Hilarious, intellectual that really knows how to engage an audience. I would definitely take her again. The group stuff was lame, but that's because I'm antisocial lol.. super great professor. No judgements, a great soul all around.

Professor Jansen is an amazing person and she teaches really well. Her lectures are easy and understandable but a lot of reading is required to get good grades in the test. Her test comes from reading so make sure you read her lecture slides and the book carefully. There is not much homework to do just 4 homework assignments.

Makes psychology very interesting. Lectures have some great examples of the things she is teaching in real life. Only difficult section is biology which can be easily passed with some basic memorization.

Professor Jensen was super fun to take Human Sexuality with! Every lecture was very interesting and fun to learn! She gets everyone to get step outside of their comfort zone. The exams are a bit tough but if you study the powerpoint slides then you'll be perfectly fine! We hardly ever had hw and if we did, sometimes it was usually optional.

I loved her class, I wish I could take them again. She made my freshman year fun. Her classes were always the best! You could use your laptop to take notes which was nice and if someone didn't understand a topic she would try her best to explain it so that everyone would get it. I really liked her lecture style. 10/10 professor!

I've taken the professor in-person before, and she gives great funny lectures that motivates the students to study. Use textbook only if you need more understanding, but you don't need to read the texbook from my experience, and you only should focus on the professor's powerpoint slides and lectures as they are the ones that will be on the test!!!

One of the best teachers I've had. I did her class online because of COVID. Most of the test material is on the powerpoints, and no annoying mandatory zoom meetings.

Professor Jensen is great. Her Canvas is easy to navigate and her homework is reasonable and easy to complete. Her quizzes and exams were also very easy and she responds fast.

The workload was super manageable. Only thing that took the longest was watching the lectures which were sometimes 1 hour or 2. Even then, she made them super interesting. Don't read the textbook she provides, really not necessary. Allowed to use the provided PowerPoints on the exams which were soo helpful. 100% recommend taking her psych 1A class!

I am so glad I took her class. This was my first phycology class and I was a little nervous about how it would be however her lecture videos are so effective to understand the chapter and topic. I highly recommend students to go with her.

Mrs. Jensen is an amazing professor and is easy to keep up with as an online professor. Her lectures are amazing and she really takes the time to actually teach and make sure that you know the material.

I took the 8 week course, and it just flew! I did not get the grade I was hoping for ( my own doing) But I really recommend taking any of her classes.

Professor Jensen-Martin gives you all the tools necessary to pass this class with an A (free textbook, PowerPoint slides, recorded lectures). 1 discussion and 1 assignment per week. Make sure you study for the tests and review the PowerPoints as 95% of the test answers are in the slides. Great class, would recommend to anyone needing to take Psych.

Pretty easy class. Her assignments are actually interesting and will make you wanna do the quizzes. Doesn't have heavy load of assignments. Recommend this professor 100%.
