test suck
Not helpful--she dissed me several times when I tried to ask her a question. Very smart lady, though. She is actually pretty good in lecture.
This class is hard. Mrs. Johnson doesn't help her students. I'm an A and B student and I barely pulled off a C in her class.
This teacher is horrible, she has no concern for her students. One thing is she is a vet I know more about Rabies than I do about Bacteria. I made a B but she let me know real quick it is a privledge just to pass....

She's tough, but not unecessarily, it's a tough subject
horrible
Total jerk, but she SOMETIMES had a sense of humor. She was obsessed with making sure that nobody was cheating. My bet is that she cheated when she was in school and so now she is convinced that the rest of the world are cheaters. Just be prepared to feel like a high school kid again.
No help what so ever, never in Lab, said she was too tired at that time of night, said she had to eat and if we had questions to find her in her office.
She is very sarcastic, and very smart. Her style is straightforward, and doesn't slow down if you fall behind. I don't thik she's unreasonable though.
She did not like to help in lab. She usually wasn't even in lab if we were having free time to study the modles. If you ask her something you only have a 50/50 chance of getting an answer.
Great Teacher!!! Gives real life examples. She gives exam reviews and is willing to help. the class is hard but she's nice.
very good uses great examples
great instructor, very helpful, uses great examples, class has difficult material
subject is difficult, really learned alot, very helpful as instructor, fair
uses every day stuff to get info to click
Had for Lab. Would rarely be in lab with us. Would leave us watching movies or trying to figure out stuff on our own. If you ask a question be prepared for her to roll her eyes at you and tell you to figure it out yourself.
do not waste time comming to her class especially lab you are better off learning on your own she does not like to answer questions she could care less about her students not a good teacher if u want to learn
Not a very good teacher, she's a little strange, i don't recommend her at all!
Avoid this teacher if you can. She is very unclear and kind of weird. I had a 4.0 in my science classes before this class and in this class I made a B.....barely.
A&P2- Terrible teacher! She is very odd, tries to be funny (she's not), she doesn't elaborate on things at all. In lab she takes roll and leaves the room expecting u to know what to do and she gets mad it seems like when someone asks a question. I had to drop bc she was too hard to follow and I was failing even tho I was there everyday. AVOID HER!
This is a very hard class, so don't expect the teacher to do your work. Basically, if you fail, that's because you didn't put enough time into your studying. You didn't come to like the teacher, you came to study (hard), so stop making up excuses for not passing this class.
All the negative comments that you read prior to this entry are true; I would not recommend her to anyone. Lecture:general concepts- tests:tiny details and multiple choice questions with all correct answers-choose "the most correct" choice. I did not feel that she wanted anyone in the class to suceed or cared about helping us accomplish our goals.
RUN!!!!!!!!! Study Guides are pointless, a lot of material tested on you will never need to know. I figured the people leaving bad ratings, just didn't study...WRONG!!!! Final was also given a day early making us have tests,3 days in a row! Taking this professor will drop your GPA. You've been warned!!
Not helpful at all. Gets irritated if you have questions in lab, If she stays in the room long enough to ask them... Very sarcastic and likes to make students look bad if they don't understand. If you answer to detailed it will be wrong- she wants the simplist answer! Would NOT recommend!
Everything that people said bad about her is true! Horrible teacher, If she is the only class open you will be better off waiting another semester.
I am not quite sure what the previous people on here are talking about. This teacher is FANTASTIC! She gives you every opportunity to succeed in the class, with extra credit and reviews for the test. If you don't do well then you didn't study hard enough, so don't expect a handout! She is patient and there for you when you need her. A++ teacher :)
This teacher was terrible. She insulted her students, made jokes and told personal stories that were irrelevant. Didnt care about her students. Never halped in lab. A&P is one of my strengths and I only made a C. RUN!!!!!
A&P is hard, wimps! I made an A in A&P I and II with her. She is a good teacher, but it's college and you're not going to pass just for showing up. If you study hard enough, you're good. I learned a lot.
She is awesome... if you go to class and LISTEN, you will do well! Welcome to college, she ROCKS!
She is great, very funny! Would take her any time!
HORRIBLE teacher! She has favorites for sure. I dropped her class and took A&P 1 and 2 two other professors at Trinity who are nothing like her and I actually leared A LOT! She was very fast paced and doesn't explain anything at all.
I enjoyed her class. The subject matter is difficult. Some students do not go to class often and griped when they didn't get an "A" or one sat on his phone the whole class. I found her helpful and very willing to help me with her class.
ALWAYS willing to help! She is brilliant and funny. People who drop or whine about grades should suck it up!
Has a great sense of humor, but Is not a very good teacher. Responds to questions students ask with a reply, "it's in the BOOK!"...REally?? Come on Dr. Johnson, DONT ANSWER a question like that! Tends to fly through the material, and you always get out of class early! Then when practical comes around, questions asked are not covered in class.
Is a really nice person, but did not cover the material and would often leave the class. To get help you have to pry it out of her and practical questions are really not gone over so her students often do horrible when it's lab practicle time, even if they are A students in lecture.
Nice person, good sense of humor. BUT doesn't cover the material very well. At times seems scattered. I am not a winer either, I expect to work for my grade. Can make good grades in AP lecture (with different professor), but have struggled tremendously in lab with Dr. Johnson. I know I was at a disadvantage by having her as my lab teacher.
Like others have said, good sense of humor but not a great teacher. Gets off subject in class a lot, causing us to have to cram before tests. Takes over a week sometimes to get grades back. Never replies to emails. Often forgets to post important things like study guides and lecture notes on time. I made an A in the class but not because of her.
WILL NOT respond to your 4 or more emails, especially if it pertains to your grade. Don't bother to show her the effort your making in the class, it's useless. You get what you deserve and not .1% more, even if you attended class daily, made a million flashcards, or communicated with her. Good luck!
WILL NOT respond to your 4 or more emails, especially if it pertains to your grade. Don't bother to show her the effort your making in the class, it's useless. You get what you get and not .1% more, even if you attended class daily, made a million flashcards, or communicated with her. Good luck!
Worst teacher in the history of teachers. Will not help you no matter how much you ask, does not respond to emails, has the most confusing test questions ever and refuses to admit the fault, never remains on topic, and blatantly shows favoritism. Not to mention she made a student cry in class with no remorse. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!
ridiculously tricky test questions things on tets not found in book or explained clearly
What an outstanding professor. Do not expect to be spoon fed. You need to read your textbook and come to lecture. You get out what you put in. She teaches the material very well and makes even the hardest concepts easy to understand. You will earn your grade. I am SO glad I took this professor. One in a million!
Nice, good sense of humor, BUT...the test questions REALLY are rediculously tricky like others have said;Plus you have NO idea what to expect from exam to exam. I was apprehensive about taking her class because of her reputation, but had no other choice, and now I just have to suck it up and get through this semester as best as I can.
If you are entering the Health Science field, this teacher is a must. She is extremely knowledgeable and invites discussion. This is a high level science class. She is a high level professor. She has a quick wit and is extremely intelligent. Anyone worth their salt will LOVE this professor. I will never forget her. Thank you Dr. Johnson!!
"Instructor" gets off topic too often to maintain coherent thought. Be prepared to listen to garbage about her personal life instead of course material. Worst faculty I've ever met at this institution. Go to a different campus. Take a different teacher. If you take, you're better off just staying at home reading the book alone.
Dr.Johnson is very nice. However, that is not reflective of her as a teacher. She is, in my opinion, a auto-pilot teacher.she has done this for many years and when she is "lecturing" she is often on auto-pilot,just reading her notes aloud, not elaborating on topics that are important or will be seen on the test.SHe never began class on time!
DO NOT TAKE!! dont listen to the good reviews. I am a hard worker and studied my butt off she is unwilling to help and likes to feel superior. she doesnt teach just reads from the book. go to another campus if you have to i wish someone would have given me this advice before i was stuck with her. DO NOT TAKE HER!!
I have heard all the stories about Dr. J.I took A&P II in the summer, like an idiot and made a C. She does have her favorites and it shows, and she does off topic, but all in all she's not too bad, just make sure you are willing to work your butt off to get the grade that you want, I will be retaking the class but with a different instructor
Awesome instructor! Remember this is college, so you must study and take the class seriously. But if you study and read the book you should do fine. She offers FILL IN THE BLANK notes, come on it doesn't get easier then that!!!
Not a good teacher. I have never failed a test even in my entire school career. I failed so bad I had to drop this teacher. She gets side tracked every 5 minutes and confuses the whole class. Multiple people from my class dropped. Do NOT take this teacher. She is not helpful.
Enjoyed class even with all the squirrel moments but test are unbelievable. I had perfect attendance, completed all the homework and read the book. I could only get a B on an exam. And worst than that on lab practical. You may want to select another instructor.
Just...Wow. I've always had 4.0 and STRUGGLED to scrape by with a 91. She talks about random crap then rushes through the material at the end of class. Test and quiz questions are tricky, reviews are NOT helpful. NEVER answers emails, gets defensive and refuses to help if you question her methods. Thought people were just whining- Nope, it's her!!
I did NOT have a good experience with Professor Johnson. I'm going to tell you now, take someone else. She is not clear about what you need to know. Her power points are boring and I didn't feel like she helped us learn what we needed to know. Only 1 person out of 20 made an A on her tests. Many of us were A students. Don't waste your time.
Very tough class. Do not take her class!! She gets off subject constantly and talks about random stuff. Reviews are long and not helpful. Lectures are dreadful I studied very hard and I did not pass this class.
She makes attemps to be humerous, but just simply gets off subject.. then rushes through power points ( even skips info) she seems offended if you ask questions & won't clarify the subject matter... you're better off just reading the txt book & teachinstruct yourself... reviews aren't helpful.. doesn't cover the test materials...
Do Not take her. She is a horrible teacher. She dont do review days just zoom through a long power point. The tests are designed to trick u, its worded different, and at the end of the test is fill in the blank with no word bank. Then she dont go over the tests. And no attempt to try to go over what we missed. I only took her cus was last minute.
Let me start out with saying A&P is HARD, period. Lab, no matter who you have, is INDEPENDENT STUDY!! The only reason I made an A is because I studied/obsessed over the objectives in the lab book, went to SI sessions, BOBS review on Fridays, had study groups, asked questions & studied outside of class. Johnson gives REVIEWS before practicals.
What's up with all the hate? Dr. Johnson is the realest, yo. She has a great sense of humor, is extremely knowledgeable, and does all she can to make the material interesting. Make no mistake, this class is HARD. You have to study HARD. That being said, she is there for you and really cares about her students!
Dr. Johnson rocks so hard I can't even deal. Super smart and knows what she's talking about. She cracks jokes like egg shells and will literally have you laughing out loud. Class is no joke high key super hard; you gotta learn the ways of independent study, but she will do her best to guide you through these rough waters. #DoctorJAllTheWay
Lets keep it 100 my fellow students... AP2 is hard, but it's totally doable. Study, read, join a study group! You can do it. This prof knows her material. With that being said don't get discouraged. Because she does everything she can to help students. This class will literally make you appreciate life for what is truly is. You will become better:)
Gets so off topic and rushes lectures. Covered nutrition and in the same day, had a test over it.
Dr. J is such a sweet teacher. She is very knowledgable, but her test are tricky and worded differently. In ap1 she offered only 5 points and in ap2 she offered like 20 points. This class is really hard so go to si sessions and study a lot. We had 4 tests and 1 final, I took her for lecture.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! She is not very clear in lab, flies through it, and does everything herself. Also, the test questions for the lab practical are to trick you. We were told to regurgitate the lab manual, yet many questions were not mentioned anywhere, not in the book, manual, lecture or lab. Seriously, teach yourself, you're better off.
She is rude, doesn't like answering questions. Doesn't explain power points good, rushes through it, doesn't care if you understand it. Try's to crack jokes but isn't funny. Her power points don't even help you on the lab manual book, you seriously just need to research it yourself.
DON'T TAKE THIS PROFESSOR . She never comes to class on time and when she does finally show up she rushes through the power points and does not answer questions. Test are very difficult and reviews do not help on the test. Better off teaching yourself than paying for this course to be taught by her.
#DrJohnsonForPresident
I am currently in her A&PII class for lec/lab. She grades by a curve & not in a good way. Her reviews DON'T match the exams, IT'S TRUE THAT EXAMS ARE VERY WORDED VERY TRICKY & she truthfully thinks it's hilarious. SERIOUSLY GETS OFF TOPIC WITH NON FUNNY JOKES ABOUT HER LIFE. Please don't take this class or kiss your chance @ nursing school goodbye.
Honestly, Dr. Johnson is amazing. She's very knowledgeable. Yes, her reviews don't match the test, but I promise you that there is another GREAT resource for her tests.
What actually matters is that Dr J has very clear expectations, is good at parsing down the information to a reasonable level, and is good at explaining things. This is a difficult course that will take a lot of work. Her tests require application of difficult concepts & critical thinking *gasp*.
I wouldn't recommend this class to anyone. She takes the most straightforward information and does everything she can to make you trip up in tests. She rides some high horse about having a difficult class to make students learn, but really it's just an excuse for poor pedagogy.
be ready to study! Don't listen to those and say A and Pit's not hard it is hard but this instructor makes it hard. That's a lot of things that you do not deal with every day including language. I hear that the nursing instructors are worse. I would take her again
She is not accessible outside of class and in class she had food in her mouth over half the time she was lecturing us. most of the the time showed up late. ONLY take if you can teach your self everything and understand everything of A&P
She eats while talking, is late to class most of the time, reviews have nothing to do with the test. Be prepared to teach yourself!
Our grade was based solely on 4 lecture tests, 2 lab tests, and a final. She does everything herself in lab, doesn't really explain anything and there are no assignments or anything to help boost your grade. The test reviews don't match the tests and her lectures are just reading the powerpoints which she gets off topic often
Great person but her health problems interfered with her teaching. This class will require going to class, and studying a lot out side of class. She goes over little details in class that she test heavily on. Test require you to critically think through problems and not just regurgitate information. Lab test will help greatly with grade.
It does require studying and memorization no surprise. As a teacher she is very sweet but in lecture she is kind of hard to follow. She does provide the power points if you wish to take notes by yourself and teach yourself. If you work, You really need to find the time or its not possible. it's like having a mother inattentive. no homework, study
I went into this class knowing Id have to work for my grade but I did not expect to deal with such a bad professor. She was by far the worst professor Ive ever had. Im surprised shes even a professor. She is very rude and has bad manners. She was too busy eating, giving herself shots, and getting way off topic for me to learn anything at all.
If you enjoy the simplicity of having a study guide that is useful for test do not take this professor!
If you are wanting to pass with a good letter grade do not take Dr. Johnson. She does not explain material, all she does is read off of her powerpoint. Must read material before class time for sure. Lab portion is the same, she goes over the material at her pace and then lets you figure it out on your own. Good luck if you decide to take her class
When pettiness was sharing , this lecturer took all apparently. Stay far away from her. If you have to wait another semester to get another lecturer; please do. Everything else that ought to be mentioned is already stated below.
For a lot of people, AP1 is going to be the hardest class you've ever taken. Some teachers soften the blow by giving out lots of extra credit and detailed exam guides. Dr. Johnson is not one of those teachers, and that's both a curse and a blessing. She makes it as hard as a nursing school class, which is nice prep for the future. Be ready to study
Yea! A & P is a difficult subject. She will make you work hard for your grade. But if you plan on going into the nursing field get ready to toughen up. She does post helpful materials up on blackboard. Just ignore everything else, work hard and help youself to achieve your dreams. Good luck!
I honestly do not want to say much except " FIND YOURSELF ANOTHER PROFESSOR!"
she reads from the powerpoint in lecture so you're not really learning anything unless you read the book and take notes. only 4 lecture tests, 2 lab tests, and a final. one extra credit opportunity. she's hard to get in contact with outside of the classroom and can be very condescending. *disclaimer* i'm not a stem major
i took her twice because there was no other choice. A&P 1 is hard. going in with the "this is going to be easy" mentality is not wise. even for the best people. YOU MUST study outside of class. she runs through the powerpoints and no one gets it. offers little EC. this class made me toughen up. YOU cannot slack if you want to succeed in this class
I havent even been in her class for a week and I can already tell shes one of the professors that makes you teach yourself instead of her doing the teaching. She cant ever stay on topic while lecturing either, if you can record every single one of her lectures/labs. Itll help a little but its a pain to have to listen all over again
She a great professor!!! She gives brief explanation during lecture and lab. A and P is challenging, whoever professor you take. STUDY!!! STUDY!!!
Not good
Dr. Johnson is a caring, involved, and responsive teacher. She posts outlines, study guides, exam reviews, practice tests, and slides for lab and lecture on Blackboard. In short, she gives her students everything they need to be successful in her class. She uses Mastering A&P which has so many study options online. This is a great class! Take her!
Easy Professor She dont give homework Or pop quizzes Just attend class & you will pass
Worst professor ever. Syllabus was not clear and difficult to understand. 98% of the stories she wanted class to read were EXTREMELY offensive and racist. She gives poor grades but does not offer any type of help or feedback. Poor communication skills, she was very rude and short. I would never take this professor EVER again.
5week course online during Covid pandemic. No lectures either live or pre-recorded. Our only work was a single essay each week. That was it, no further guidance. Never made a point of making herself accessible. Zero feedback (I got all A's, IDK if she only said more on poorer essays). Stay away especially if you do need the experience and education
This teacher is a nice person but she is extremely unorganized, her teaching is scattered and unclear, she is late to post lectures, doesn't lecture live and takes 2 weeks to grade. She is a really tough grader. This is one of the hardest classes that exists, and having her as your professor will make it so much harder. Please take someone else.
Here class is literally so extra Ive taken anatomy and physiology before and it was a breeze. Her testing methods are zoom instead of proctorio she messes up on exams and test and crams lessons in on students pls do not take her
very sloppy, which makes this class unnecessarily hard. fails to communicate clearly on dates and times. study guides provided don't help on exams. prerecorded vids aren't edited for quality and she goes off on tangents a lot. ur better off teaching urself out of the textbook--much easier to understand, and hw questions are based on textbook. No EC
Dr. Johnson is by far the worse professor I've ever encountered. She is extremely unorganized, gets side tracked easily, and is not very helpful when needing clarification on information. She assigns TONS of homework that accounts for so little in the course and tests really heavy on info not covered in lectures. Simply awful.
This is one tough cookie. She's a great professor, she loves this subject and it shows, but she almost gives TOO much information so that makes it hard to study for the exams. It is a lot of very specific (still relevant) information, but just a LOT. So be prepared to study long and hard for this class.
Worst college professor I've ever experienced. She is a good person but her way of teaching is not effective. She literally just reads the slides during lecture. If you want to pass you will need to read the chapter and teach yourself. She doesn't answer questions clearly and she diverts alot. She is very unorganized and forgets alot.
As a person she is super nice, but this class is made to be way harder than it should be. She doesn't stay on topic during lecture and labs. Her tests are never what you expect to be over no matter how much or hard you study for it. The resources she provides for this class are vague and never enough to pass her tests.
Class was very difficult, study guides were not helpful at all and she would get side tracked a lot. You could tell she had favorite students too.
I instantly dropped her class after the first day. She is nice as a person but terrible as a professor. Summer classes are supposed to be fast paced, but she went extremely slow and expected us to be ready for our 1st exam in 2 days after the 1st day of class. Every powerpoint was 100+ slides long but she took over 2 hours to complete 30 slides.
Dr. Lisa Johnson is but is a terrible professor, but a great person. She is a person to have a striking conversation with but not a person to be teaching you anatomy. My previous professor was able to cover two 130 slide PowerPoints in under two hours. Dr. Johnson took 2 hours to cover 33 out of 135 slides, and expects us to learn??
Awful teacher, but a great person. She reads off of power points and never gave clear explanations. Always goes off topic and going on and on about personal life with a little time to actually teach.
Reads off powerpoints but does sometimes go in depth with some things. The reviews given do not help at all, you will have to read on your own and study everything! I attempted multiple times to get in touch with her to discuss grades and was never able to get in contact with her. I would not recommend this class to anyone.
For this class being a summer class & my first time back to school in years, I expected to learn since this is a beginner class. She didn't really teach anything. She gave us a quiz on the first day on a random topic. She gives out resources and says to follow the instructions and that's it. You are teaching yourself in this class
The study guides that are given 100% aren't on the test. Death by power point ex. 100 - 200 slides each chapter with no clear direction on how she will test you or what is important information. Her test ask very specific type question that the answer won't match with the power points given please if you have an option stay away. I use to have a 3.9
Do not take her class. If you have to wait a whole semester for the class you need, wait the whole semester and have a different professor. She doesn't offer help in any way. You will be teaching this course to yourself. She reads the powerpoints, and her favorite phrase is, "Does that make sense?". Find another professor. She's absolutely terrible
Please do not take this professor. Nice person but an awful teacher. No clear sense of direction in this class as she only reads off the slides during lecture, she does not explain the topics whatsoever nor does she tell you what you will be tested on. You will be teaching yourself in this class. & if you ask her for help you'll be ignored.
Took her for API & APII during the summer. Made an A on both. Tips: DON'T TAKE OVER THE SUMMER If you can't memorize 200+ powerpoint slides/test. Exams questions are superficial, so just memorize. Attend lecture. She will read from a powerpoint the entire time. It is college grow up if you can't handle that. AP cannot get easier than this.
OMG PLS PICK YOUR CLASSES EARLY i had to go with her last minute biggest regret of my life she don't care if your moms in the hospital you better be in class. she gives work back to back, I'm literally in her class right now typing this. she makes no sense she gets mad when we ask questions because we don't understand. She is AWFAL save yourself...
She is a really nice person, and she can be funny sometimes. But in general I do not recommend taking her class, the lectures and the lab are not helpful at all. She didn't give any feedback at all, especially for exams. I think the amount of homework is ok.
You'll be teaching yourself. J lecture-3 minutes-use an analogy-talk about analogy 10 minutes. J gets annoyed by questions. Must ask because most will be confused by either her off topic rant or lack of explanation or she has corrected something stated wrong. I was cheated and paying. She actually asked me how old I was in class while "teaching"!
I made the mistake of taking the 4-week summer course. There are 4 exams one final and 2 lab practicals with about 70 homework assignments that do not boost your grade. She does offer extra credit where you sign up to be a bone marrow match and she adds 10 pts to the lowest exam grade. No reviews for any test. Study guides are not helpful either.
Lectures are boring. No passion in her teaching. She also does not have a syllabus schedule, which makes this class 200x harder. Due dates are sloppy, like she can't format on canvas. Don't take her. Her lab exams are also hand written and you need to spell things correctly. Terrible teacher. Look at the other reviews.
By far the worst professor I've ever had. There are 3 lecture tests and 2 lab tests. She gives you a “review” that she didn't even make and doesn't ask you a single question on them. Lab exams should be lecture exams because she doesn't ask you a single thing about the anatomy portion of the body. Always on her phone and seems annoyed by questions.
0/10 would not recommend.
She does not care if you pass. She comes to class unprepared by constantly asking the class what slide she left us on from the previous class, she takes her time before she actually starts teaching. She reads off the slides but doesn't go into thorough detail as a professor usually does. Her exam reviews are NOT updated. Does not give recourses
This professor covers a lot of content, so get ready to study hard. The slides alone won't cut it - you'll need to use the textbook and additional resources like unstuck ai to really master the material. Attendance is mandatory, and the exams are quite challenging, but the content is engaging if you put in the work.
Avoid if possible! Absolutely no passion for teaching. Irritated when questions were asked. Never organized. Teaching was more like story telling than actual teaching. She gave us 1 chapter per week & there were 5 assignments due each Sunday with 18-25 questions (have to do them multiple time if you got them wrong). Never responded to emails!!
She's been using the same un-updated power points for years and they don't match up with the online material. usually unprepared for class.
A lot of the negative things said about her. If you're not willing to put in the work, don't take the course. She gives examples TO RELATE IT TO THE MATERIAL, not to talk about herself. No matter what professor you take, you have to work. Don't take science courses together because you won't have time. This is not for those lazy minded people.
Great professor, but A&P II is a very hard course. Focus on her slides—they're where test questions come from. Homework is used to get a better understanding of material, but don't rely on it for exams. Write notes BEFORE class, ask questions, and study MINIMUM 2 hrs a day. Stay disciplined and you can crush it. Be ready to work hard!
A&P is hard, but if you put in the studying and work then you will do well. The professor is very reasonable, not sure about all these other people on here claiming she is unprofessional. She is actually a retired veterinarian and does an amazing job at helping you understand the concepts when you are prepared with questions.
