i had this teacher too and she was a loon. she couldn't pronounce her words right so students would have to get up and read the curriculum for her. and half the time she couldn't even figure the problems out so students would basically teach the class.
I had such a difficult time at this and other colleges with other instructors until I took it with her. Thanks to her help and dedication, I passed on the first try.
My worst subject, and I passed an 8wk course w/her. She's kind, and clear (though it's true that if you have a hard time with accents, it may throw you). Tests are easy if you've done the HW, but there's only 14 ?'s worth a LOT ea. so you can't BS t
Professor Lee is a very nice person, she cares for all students. I like her a lot!!!
I took Math 30 twice before taking it with Professor Lee, and I couldn't ask for a better teacher. She really worked with you and helped you out. There were only 10 quizzes and it was all take home. You will do well on the midterm and final as long as you review the problems she gives you
I took her class for the summer, and out of the 8 weeks I swear I studied only 2 weeks, it's like she's almost giving you the points, go to the midterm and final reviews, it will help you out so much, take this class if you need to fullfilled your general education, you can't go wrong with her
She is a great professor to take online. She cares so much about the success of her students. She does have an extremely hard to understand accent. However, if you take an online course with her she writes responses to all students questions on the class message board and it is crystal clear.
Prof Lee is also a great asset to this online expierence. Not only is she a very sweet lady she is just so encouraging and helpful. She really helped me be a success.
Don't bother buying the book. Just buy the pass for the CourseCompass website & u'll have access 2 all the pages of the bk that u need, online. Do the HW online & everytime u miss a problem it will give u a hint & another try to get it right. U can finish ALL the HW in 3 days! Easiest Stat class ev!
Excellent teacher. Very easy going and helpfull. She's always there for you and responds to all questions and comments. I'm getting an A, that says enough right there.
Lisa was a great teacher. She made this class great. She has great reviews.
loved everything about the class. Professor Lee is a great teacher and very helpful. If you do everything that is required you will easily get a good grade!
Very easy class if you do the homework and quizzes. Midterm and final exams are very similar to homework and quizzes. Ms. Lee is very patient, helpful and the most responsive teacher ever (answers emails same day). You cannot go wrong with this class. Lee makes this class truly enjoyable. However, her accent might be a little hard to understand.
Lisa Lee is the most helpful teacher, she's always there for you. She gave you the reviews for mid-term and final, and your job is to study hard on them then you'll get an A.
Prof Lee is great, it would be a better class if you did not take it online. the textbook sucks big time. I hated this class and could not wait to get it over with since, the book was so confusing.
Prof. Lee is the best math teacher. She really cares about her students, even when it is an online class and there are a lot of students in the class. So helpful, and has a lot of review for her tests. :)
very helpful, very nice!
I have trouble with ANY algebra, but I did it. Try to master the CourseCompass website for hw, attend the reviews, practice the posted test reviews (more than once), & participate in the discussion board. It's all on you.
Lisa Lee is a great teacher. A must have!
Lisa Lee is a helpful professor. She could use a little help with her English, but what she doesn't have there, she more than makes up for in her excellent math skills. She lets you use one 2-sided sheet of notes on the midterm and final which really helps. she also covers every topic right before these tests-working similar problems, NO SURPRISES!
ms. lee is one of the best math teachers on campus. she's willing to help her students in anyway. not only that but she's also very understanding about her students' situation or problems. if you're her student and you have some kinda problems, you know u can always talk to her and she'll be there to listen to you. she will undrstnd wat u'r goin th
She was the best teacher i have ever had and i took this class 3 other times. when you ask her a question then shes very clear when she emails u. I got an A in this class and i thought i would never get that high of a grade. If you are like me with having bad teachers in the best, then i recommend you to take this class. :)
I gotta handed to ALL OF U OUT THERE. If u must take mathematic, take it with professor lee. She'll explain to u any problems that u can't solve plus if u brave enough to participate in classroom work+do ur homework u earn extra credit and get Ace in the class for sure. Super duper highly recommended!! YOU"LL BE SORRY IF U DON'T TAKE HER.
Stats was 90% online. 2 big test worth 65% of your grade taken at school. 4 Quizes, homework and project/participation: these 3 categories are each worth 12% of your grade. Overall easy class if you STUDY for big test; if just do the hw, ur screwed. For test, study only review! U also get formula sheet. Get a C on 1 test and you wont get A in class
I am happy in her online class now. Everything is easy. Her ways in giving quizzes are very merciful and caring ways. I hope I could get a best grade. If I could give grade to the teachers , she could get an A+++++
took her online class, she is so crazy she does not make herself clear at all, she cant speak correct english so she will confuse you a lot during review time.she changes her mind often and students are pretty much lost.takes averages of quizzes.do well on the midterm and final cuz they are worth a LOT of points.
No offense, but I think she's very helpful and understanding teacher, willing to go outside the circle to help her student. For those who don't get A is because they are lazyyyyyy. The hardest part was quiz 3 and 4 but we all are given unlimited time to finish it. So if you don't Ace the test, it's yourself to blame.
She doesn't ask much of you, but tests are a HUGE chunk of the grade. As long as you do the homework, take your time on the quizzes and make a good note sheet for the midterm & final, an A isn't a problem at all. Prof. Lee is somewhat hard to understand & her english isn't always clear, but the class is easy enough that it isn't a big deal.
I took the class over the summer it was a great online class. She is a little hard to understand on the caculator videos but all the info is there. She is always online and answers every question. Take this class online it might be harder in person
IF you want to take calculus stay away! I tried so hard and was barely passed with a C because her EXAM worth so much and TOUGH!!!! Statistic with her is easy but stay away from Calculus. Warning!!!!!!
I dropped the class. Just too much stuff, midterm and final worth too much. I dropped after the tough midterm!
Lisa Lee is a great online teacher. I was in a summer statistics class and found the course very easy to succeed in. I got a B without putting much effort into the course at all. The exams are open notes, which means you don't need to memorize all the important equations and processes! If you do the HW and make a good cheat sheet, you'll do well.
Great for self-motivated students. I felt she was fair and I appreciated her midterm and final reviews. I thought the class was super easy and I am not a math person. She was very knowledgeable.
I Took The Online Class And It Was Great!!! The Class Is So Well Organized. Midterm And Final Are Based On Homework & Quizzes. Professor Lee Is Online 24/7. A Pleasure To Be In Her Class.
She's the best math teacher ever. I took the online class and did better than I expected...Her exams are not easy but if yo do the hw and quizzes and the review...you should be fine! EXCELLENT TEACHER!! she also gives extra credits for doing review problems!!
Great Instructor!! I Took The Online Course Which Was Extremely Organized. After Studying/Working on The Review, Midterm And Final Not Bad At All. Love The Class. Ready For Calc II.
Took Online Statistics Course. This class is LEGIT!! I spent about 4 hours a week online and doing hmwk for the 16 week class. Able to use cheat sheet for Midterm and Final and there is Extra Credit available. Put 65% into this class and got an A. Anything less than an A in this class means you didn't care.
Her online course is suitable for motivated individuals. Her choice of textbook is weak as Thomas Calculus can be confusing those who lack the indept analytics of Algebra & Trig. Coursecompass.com is helpful with examples for homeworks and exercises, but you have to type almost exactly what they want or no credit.
Woot woot got an A! Can get an A as long as you put in minimal effort every week and have a good cheat sheet for midterm and final. Can retake each quiz (with no time limit) 3 times and the midterm/final are exactly like the practice exams she posts online. Take her Professor Lee rocks!
I took her accelerated on-line statistics course (8 weeks). There are homework assignments, 4 quizzes (can re-take 3x), midterm, and a final. Midterm and final resemble the practice exams so if you can do that, you'll be fine. Buying the book was such a waste since I only used it for the tables in the back. Easy A ... take her, she's awesome!
This was a beginning statistics class. I used the textbook a lot (it was a very good one) and between that and the online videos, etc. I did well. She lets you take an 8.5X11 sheet of notes to the midterm and final, which helped me tremendously. This class/teacher is highly recommended!
Online: Fine class if you are a self-learner. Aside from posting a clear syllabus, I found the teacher to be fairly useless. If you ask questions within the scope of the material, but not "in the homework" Ms Lee will not address the question. There is a fairly useful student forum that helps to connect with classmates for help and support.
I just completed (Fall 2008) the online Math 160 (Statistics) course with Coastline College, taught by Prof. Lee. The course was tough, but interesting. Prof. Lee is a GREAT instructor and VERY supportive. All homework & quizzes are done online. The Midterm & Final are taken in person, but you can use a two sided note sheet. Excellent Instructor!!!
I took her calc 1 last summer and she gave me extra points for participating fully in discussion. And the points made it up to an A. She's awesome!!!
Prof Lee is FABULOUS! I managed an A in online STATS, and have never gotten above a C in Math previously. She Allows you to retake quizzes, and is flexible with everything if you just ask. She'll even extend quiz time. Tests are worth a lot, but are EXACTLY like her study sheets... just different numbers! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
This instructor produced her own videos and she was very hard to understand, thus making the class that much harder. She is not very helpful and does not provide clear answers to your concerns. Take this class if you can do it with minimal instruction, but stay away if you expect some difficulties.
She was very helpful. I took an online class. If you study the class is easy.
Foolishly relied on previous ratings and ended up with an "F" for this class. Extremely, extremely difficult. Better off choosing someone else or attending at another college. Tests are impossible to pass. Class is set up differently now and goes way too fast. Received "A" for all math classes except for this. DO NOT TAKE! DO NOT TAKE!
she nice but class way too difficult. so many people got f or dropped. i recommend another professor or college. course too fast too much info to learn and tests impossible to prepare for. u lucky if u can even get a 60 or above on test.
Class is difficult enough to make you switch majors and thats sayin a lot!!! bunch of quizzes and tests and so little time. only math geniuses can pull off passing grade or better. class is different than previous ratings. completely different and sooooooooo hard man
Yes, the course has changed, I suppose. I always get As in all of my math classes except for this one. I only managed a low B; however, the professor wants students to learn EVERYTHING about statistics. There are tons and tons of homework, quizzes, and tests will keep you up day and night for about a week. Very nice, but class is very difficult.
Take another professor or go to another college. Not worth the trouble. Probably the most difficult statistics course at this college.
hey, if her homework everyday doesn't kill you, her tests will! took this class thinking i'd get at least a C or something. guess what...F!
unless all the other stat classes are taken in all of the other colleges, don't take this class. Easy F or D and very, very hard C or B.
Had all As until I took this class. Not sure if I will get a "C" or not. Will have to wait for the finals. All what I can say is that you are stupid if you take this course.
One or two quizzes per week. Tests cover many chapters. Tons of homework that are worth little points. The quizzes and tests are what makes up. Most students complain about how many there are and not enough time to learn. She's a very nice professor but expects a lot.
Okay, I took this class thinking I was going to get an "A" for at least a "B", right? Well, turns out this was the most difficult class I've taken in college. Will withdraw instead of taking the "F".
TOO MUCH HW AND TEST! NOT ENOUGH TIME!TAKE ANY OTHER PROFESSOR EXCEPT FOR THIS ONE!
As someone that almost always gets all As for my math courses, I can confirm what others have written. Class is difficult and will kill any student even at a 16 week course. Be prepared to learn statistics inside and out and actually prove you know the subject. Most have failed or dropped. If you are not good at math, I suggest another professor.
Professor Lee is such a nice and caring professor. Her demand for excellence and math comprehension is extremely high though. Just put in at least 2 hours per day and you will do fine.
I had a very hard time in this class.
Not the most helpful teacher. Relies on other students or online tutoring providing help. Not enough homework to practice the concepts. She at least offers a review for the midterm and final, so with enough studying, an A is definatly manageable. Must be very independant and self reliant to do well in this class!
Around 2/3 of the class dropped, received an "F", or withdrew from class. Avoid this class. Many people think that just because this is an online class, it will be easier. Don't be tricked and don't be stupid! Impossible to learn statistics according to her insanely, high standards with in just 8 weeks.
theres a midterm and final exam that has to be taken on campus. most people failed them. other than that, you have to always do homework and quizzes online. the two exams are worth majority of grade. take another class. not this one.
Don't listen to the bad comments about the instructor, but don't think that Stats is easy...its not. Considering that the class was online (minus the midterm and final) it was set up very well. You are given as many chances as you want to get 100 on the HW AND you can take the quizes 3 times. The midterm and final mirror the review material.
if you care about your grades, avoid this class at all costs...
Let's get one thing straight: it takes a whole lot of discipline and resiliency to get through a transferable math course, especially an 8-week online class. If you push yourself hard and study, Miss Lee gives you ample opportunities to pass (open-note exams, 3 attempts per quiz, etc). Overall a very difficult class, but Lisa is a kind professor.
I went into this class scared as hell thinking I was going to fail but Prof.Lee was soooo helpful and I ended up getting an A. Just do your part to memorize formulas and learn how to use a scientific calculator, Prof.Lee helps you. Able to re-take quizzes 3 times; homework can be redone until you get 100%, mid/fin exam on campus - 1 sheet notes ea.
If you care about your grades, avoid this class at all cost. Very difficult professor, makes Calculus impossible if you haven't taken it in high school and have a knowledgeable background in Calculus already. I followed through with all the assignments, and with great effort, managed to scrape a B. I have a 3 in AP Calc. You have been warned.
Pros - 8 week course, HW and quizzes are online, replies to almost, if not all, questions on the discussion board/e-mail, good at typing English...Cons - You will only learn and memorize basic concepts about statistics, has a horrible Korean accent, only "cares" about students' math/class questions and not about students' personal problems/life
Proffessor Lee is very helpful, I was very nervous about taking Math, especially online. Proffessor Lee responds to all comments on discussion forums and will help explain concepts. She also is very good about understanding work schedules. Also she alows 1 page of notes for the midterm andfinal exams.Great class.
I took her online class in Inermediate Algebra SO VERY HARD! You work your butt of doing all the homework and it counts for 150pts out of 500pts. Didnt respond well to emails. GOOD LUCK if you take her HARD HARD HARD!!!!!!!!!!!
Took eight week online class. Class is hard, but hey it's Statistics. Lot of homework, 4 quiz's and midterm and final are on campus. Offers reviews for final and midterm. I recommend Professor Lee. She is very helpful if you need the help.
Prof. Lee was EXTREMELY helpful, and the online class format was amazing for Statistics! The website will tell you if a problem is wrong, so you can get 100% on all your homework! Midterm and final were not too bad, and she let's you bring a sheet of notes and your graphing calculator. I highly recommend taking stats online!!!
Like any other courses, if you study for the material you'll do just fine. Math is my worst subject but i manage to do well (got an A). Took the course in class. Prof. Le is a little hard to understand, but she is helpful. offers ex-credit. homework is due on your time. can use calculator and cheat sheet. Overall great prof. take her course for sta
This class isn't that hard or ez. Make sure u do the homeworks and understand some of the formula. Go to the lab, tutors r there to help!! I am a "C" to "B-" student. I managed to get an "A" in the class & probably became one of her fav student :P. If I can do it...you can do it! Let's stop complaining! u r in college...u should put some effort too
Offers 10 pts extra credit. Sign up on coursecompass asap - even before class officially starts. You need every single minute for this class. Review videos and practice exams. If you have to take midterm/final at a diff time, sign up early! Penalty if you take it after the scheduled exam. The slots fill up fast @ CCC.
Don't take Professor Lee! In the middle of class one day she decided we can't use laptops. She never posts reviews or quizzes when she says she will. The class is easy but frustrating. The entire group project she assigns is less than 5% of the final grade. She also wastes time by talking about random things like IKEA...
This class was okay. She has a very strong accent which made a little difficult to understand her lectures, but she definitely has good notes and will show practice problems. Do your homework and study for quizzes and you should be fine.
My fear of math is gone. I had fun in her class. She is very nice. I am glad I took her class that I learned a lot.
ONLINE class for me. 4 quizes, like 2 weekly hw assignments, 2 discussion board posts. Hw isnt officially due until the last week, but you should keep up to do well on quizes. 1 midterm, 1 final. They r almost IDENTICAL to her study guides. 1 EC problem per test. She responds to emails fast.
I took this class online although all of the comments advised not to. I should have listened. This is not an easy class and self teaching is mandatory. I found the midterm moderately okay, but the final was ridiculous. I still have nightmares from this class.
I was really enjoying math until I took this class. Some of the problems on the quizzes, midterm, and final did not correlate to the homework. Also, I thought it was ridiculous that we spent a lot of time solving all the final exam review when only 50% of it was used in the Final Exam. Test what you teach and not blindly select from test bank.
I took it online. She very rarely checks the discussion boards, so you have to teach yourself and help/be helped by classmates. Class isn't that bad. Just be prepared to work hard and have lots of homework every week. I didn't think it was too bad, some others found it far more difficult to get the work done.
Great professor. She is very intelligent and knows her stuff. Be on time, because sometimes she will reward you with extra credit. Her exams are exactly like the homework problems, so do those and you will be fine. I didn't think I would like Stats, but she made the material very clear and I got an A. Top notch professor!
Great professor. The material is not easy but she makes it clear. All quizzes and exams are exactly like her reviews. Make sure to attend her review the day before the test and you will do fine. 1 page of note is allowed so write solutions and notes for the review exam on that sheet and you should have no problm getting an A. Great class!
Calculus I online was pretty easy if you keep up with the homework and posts. The exams are similar to the exam reviews so if you understand those you will do fine. However, it is possible to breeze through the class without really understanding the concepts, so you need to be careful. May be better in person if you are taking higher math after.
Not much goes on between teacher and you as you are in contact with the assigned tutor and your fellow classmates through discussion board. She had us use my math lab and as long as you understand and practice hw, quizzes, and thefinal/midterm handouts you'll do fine in this class. Of course you have to put effort into this class.I felt it was easy
The instruction through MathLab is comprehensive. The tutor was very knowledgeable and responsive to questions. Course work and exams were straight forward. If you put time in it's an easy A. P.S. I enjoy math.
I hate math and taking an online class was risky; however everyone was helpful. This was more like an independent study which was good because u set ur own pace. Time consuming. The class is straight foward. I received a B even though math is one of my weakest subject.
Statistics is a hard subject, so there is no escaping that. It is important to understand the material which is almost impossible without seeing a tutor or taking the class in the classroom. Professor Lee is very helpful, but how much help can you expect online. Not sure what I will remember from this class, but at least I got my A
Difficult class. Obviously she can't do much teaching because it is an online course but she is helpful. Makes sure to respond to emails and tests are closely related to the reviews.
Take her. Easy class. It's online so you basically have to self teach yourself, but the materials are not hard. She only test basic concepts. Just read the book, do the homework. Up to 3 attempts for quizzes, midterms and final are almost identical to practice exam. A math course cannot get any easier than this, honestly.
Absolutely no teacher or student interaction. This class is COMPLETELY self-taught. Students will usually help each other out on the forums. Take this class if you need room in your schedule. Not so bad as long as you do the work and stop making excuses for yourself. I got a 100% on everything (HW, Midterm, Quizzes) except the Final... Good luck!
Love her! Nice lady! If you come into this class with a serious attitude then this should be an easy class. As long as you do your work, it should be an easy A, but you MUST do your work. Do spend at least 2-3 hours/week for this class ( which is very reasonable). Don't wait until the last minute before the exam to cramp on doing hw and studying.
She doesn't answer questions promptly and sometimes, her instructions aren't very clear. The subject itself (Intro to Stats) is pretty hard in the second half, but everything is pretty much self-taught. I'm struggling somewhat. However, every assignment is open to be done early and you have to show up for the midterm and final with one cheat sheet.
Online class. Be prepared to learn ALL by yourself. 1 midterm, 1 final, 4 quizzes and HW (easy). Midterm and final are almost exactly like the review. I studied very seriously. Statistics is hard but she makes this class probably one of the easiest math classes you will ever take. I'd say easy A! take this seriously.
This class is very time consuming. It's entirely self-taught, but you do have your classmates to help you out in the discussion forums. She doesn't respond to questions right away, but she WILL. Just have to be patient. Midterm/final are identical to the reviews. There are just a few minor changes, such as numbers and such.
Best math teacher ever. Had a lot of difficulties in this class, but she work with me and made sure I passed. Responds backs to email fast, but not on weekends. Trust me, for someone like me who hate Stats, (even though I got a B in Business Calculus), she is a great and understandable teacher.
You can easily get a B or even a A if you: 1/do HW and take notes since quizzes are based off HW. 2/do the practice exams carefully since Midterm and final are based off the practice exams. I do study hard and I read the whole book. I felt so lucky that I took this class. Easy A.
Prof. Lee is a very nice teacher and is very helpful. I would recommend taking her in-class. Even though everything is online, she does a good job explaining the concepts. She gives practice tests before the actual test and the practice test are VERY similar to the real test. She also has helpful study guides for the midterm and Final. Easy A!
Definitely a class you have to teach yourself. The homework assignments are pretty long. I felt like she was unclear about a few things. She seemed very nice in person for the tests, and I feel like she grades them fairly. She offers some extra credit which was very nice! The practice exams are not "exactly" like the real exams.
I just took the mid-term a few weeks ago, study the mid-term review and you will be fine but you probably won't get an A just by studying from the review. Mid-term borrows ideas and maybe a problem or two from the review, they are not identical. Expect some surprises on the midterm but ultimately she is not a tough grader. Got a B on the mid-term
Dr. Lee is definitely a busy lady so direct communication is minimal, but she is super sweet and very willing to help. She integrates a tutor into the discussion boards to answer questions, and she answers questions herself. You really have to be a self-starter and take advantage of the resources she provides for you. I would definitely recommend!!
Took this class all online with Midterm and final on campus. First, she doesn't respond to questions. She makes discussion boards a requirement so that other students will answer your questions and she won't have to. Long midterm and final study guide and then tests have maybe 3 or 4 questions that are similar that actually show up on the tests.
A lot of homework but you have unlimited tries so you can get 100% on it. Midterm was easy, Final was tough. Lets you bring notes to the midterm and final, make sure you make notes on everything she puts on the study guide since you never know what she will put on there. Only 16 questions on those so it's hard to get an A but not impossible.
this is a follow-up review after the final. For those of you who need this class just to get your BSBA, take this class. I got a B in this course and I'm a social studies kind of guy. Very important, meet w classmate before mid-term and final. You will pass this class, just do your H.W and understand review test. Most people got a B. Good luck.
There was very little homework, 4 quizzes with 3 attempts. The reviews for midtermfinal were long but the 16 questions on the test were similar. MidtermFinal were not that hard; I got an A+ on both. You can bring a full sheet of notes, which she does not check but writing the problems down won't help on some so try to understand the concepts.
Best math class ever. As long as you practice homework and study for the test, it won't be hard to get that high grade.
Course uses MyMathLab. Lots of online homework. Tests are done in person and are NOT multiple choice. Each exam has 17 questions. Awesome for online students. Online courses are NOT for everyone.
i took this class in Spring. you should not take on-line class if you don't know knowledge before. A lot of home work are in my math lab, and test is not much difficult. You have to teach yourself, Pro's guide and classmate's ideas are not helpful. I got A+ in both mid-term and final because I knew Calculus before. do your best and get high grade
Very sweet in person, but rarely responds to questions in discussion. I had a few questions and she was very hard to get a hold of! There is an in class tutor whom answers homework problems which is great! Midterm and final weren't too bad! She does lag on giving the exam reviews out ahead of time which can lead to some last minute cramming.
Professor Lee's class was great IF you are an independent learner! It's an online class so you only see her for the midterm and final which are in person and she lets you have a sheet of notes! There is a ridiculous amount of homework that is sometimes confusing, that's why I watched a lot of YouTube videos to help. Only take if you're good at math
Very difficult math class; lots of homework that does not even prepare yourself for the 2 onsite exams (cheatsheets are allowed). Feedback from the professor is very rare, but she is fair with her grading and does offer extra credit. Honestly, I had to hire a tutor to pass this class, though others who understand math will have better luck than me.
Winter class. You can get an A in the class with effort. She is very strait forward, clear and generous with extra credit. I got a B in the class and was VERY happy with that (horrible at math) Get ti-84 calculator (mandatory) and theres a guy on youtube that solves all the midterm and final review q on the ti-84. Copy and paste the Q on youtube
Summer Class. Military. I juggle my job, my kid, my wife, and PT, and then have to do minimum of 3 hours of homework a day. otherwise I spend my saturdays from 0700-1800 playing catch up. The homework isnt easy either. Horrible at communicating and conveying clear dates, and hard to get ahold of. Good luck, You'll Need it.
I like Professor Lee. Math itself is hard course. You have to read the book and do the homework. Prof. Lee was very helpful. She was active in the discussion board. She answered each of the students' posts. She also gives extra credit. Math is my weakest subject but Prof. Lee was helpful. I passed the class with B. I will take her again.
I read reviews prior to taking the class and was hesitate about what I would actually get. But I highly enjoyed Prof. Lee class. Everything is done on mymathlab you have unlimited times to get homework answers correct no reason why you cant get an A. Prior to exams she gives you exactly exact examples of what will be on the actual exam.
I love professor Lee! I just finished my aa in science and math, and she was my rock. Yes there is tons of homework, sometimes I would spend 8 hours a day doing it. I am a bee by nature, I try to practice, and work hard. Professor Lee sees your effort, your work and desire to learn. She always replies and is very kind.
Amazing Professor. Before taking Professor Lee's class I was worried about possibly failing this class, once I began I got the hang of things. She is understanding and definitely helps you out. I recommend her 100%
Online are mostly self taught anyway. Prof Lee respond in a timely manner. She is understanding of situations. She grades fair as long as you show your work. Amount of homework is about 10 questions per chapter sections, which is not as much as other prof I've had. I wish she taught Trigonometry and calculus as well..I would take her again.
She give a lot of homework, so get ready, but she does respond in a very timely manner. She is also very active in the discussion board. This class is mostly self-taught. She is also very understanding and usually give extension to homework and quizzes. Homework and quizzes are not easy. I would definitely take her again.
Dr. Lee makes it very easy to communicate. She is understanding, helpful, and also very responsive in her emails. All you need to do is reach out if you are not doing well in class. You must have discipline and be proactive in learning the material on your own. She gives extensions and extra credit to boost your grade. Time management is key!
Dr. Lee is fair. If you work hard, you'll get a passing grade. TIPS: Do NOT get the online book; makes it difficult to reference. Use your Ti-84 from the moment you get it. Videos have you use Statlab and it's confusing since you will not have access to this or Excel during midterm/final. Go to tutoring and work through midterm/final problems
Dr. Lee is a great professor. I was very concerned about having to remember Algebra again after so many years of not using it, but it was fine. Everything is laid out easy to follow. A lot of assignments but you should be able to make an A if you put in the effort! Don't be afraid to take this class and DO the exam reviews they help so much!
The midterm was given on March 24, 2017 and it is now April 7, 2017. Professor Lee has not given the midterm exams back yet and has not communicated when they will be available.
She usually replies to discussion board. Her review are quite like the actual exam. Just do the review and you will be fine on the exam. Offer extra credit for participate for solving a problem on review. She has a tutor to help her manage the discussion board. She also give extension to homework and quizzes as well.
I took Math C160 with Professor Lee onsite. I was so afraid of taking statistics again because I had failed the class last semester with another instructor at a different college. Professor Lee respects and cares about each student. The class is well organized. We enjoyed so much of doing the group class project. I finally understood Statistics
She provided clear course contents weekly, easy to follow. Participation in Discussions board and reply emails within 24 hours. Midterm and Final review are available to help the class. Excellent caring professor!
The exam are very similar to the final review. She give extra credit for posting solution to 1 problem to the review. Very active in the discussion board, as she tries to answer everybody question. She often give extensions to quizzes and homework.
If you could keep up with home work, you will be fine in this class. Tests are similar with the review. Great professor, I took both 160 & 180 with her.
Easy to learn from Professor Lee. Participation in the discussions was very helpful and fun.
I took her online classes with Coastline. She is quick to respond to questions, fair amount of homework and I like the books that she chooses to teach from. Good experience with this teacher.
Professor Lee is such an amazing professor! she is always willing to go out of her way to make sure students understand the materials. I took her online class and it was VERY DO-ABLE even though I haven't taken math in a while. There are extra creds available so make sure you participate in discussion forum to earn them.
Dr. Lee is INCREDIBLE. She's accommodating, caring, and superbly helpful to students; she takes her job as professor seriously, even in an online class. Dr. Lee is generous with grades and offers tons of extra credit. Stats is a tough class for anyone, but she made it possible! I highly recommend her for any math class, as I took C045 with her too.
As an online class, the textbook is free. There are online discussions, homework assignments with unlimited attempts, and 4 tests with 3 attempts for each problem. 1 midterm and 1 final study guide that prepares you for the exams well. There are youtube videos with answers to each problem. She's nice and responsive, just try to learn the material.
I took CALC 1 over the summer which was probably my first mistake. Lots of homework and most of the students taught one another through the course. I never actually met my teacher until the day of the final. I would recommend taking math like this in class. Online is really tough.
Very organized and straight forward. Professor Lee is quick to reply to your questions and her online Calculus course is fairly easy. Just do all homework. Best grade of 3 attempts on each quiz. Midterm and Final are similar to her practice exams.
She's hard to understand but she has helped me more than any college professor I have ever had and I have been going to community colleges and Universities for 5 years, in and out of California. Free graphing calculator, tutor in class, and free books. She also lets you use a cheat sheet for your exam. She's amazing, another student recommended her
Awesome and will take again. Clear grading criteria and lots of resources available for online students.
Prof Lee is responsive, just ask her questions on the discussion board weekly. Answers for the hw, midterm & final review are listed out by other students for points. Just learn the steps by practicing on your calculator, it's simple. The reviews for the midterm & final are VERY similar to the exams. Study them, put in effort, and you'll pass.
Very good experience in this class. Took Intro to Stats this summer, she lets you redo all assignments and tests besides exams during the last week of class, so don't stress if you miss a couple points here or there, chances are you will have a better understanding later on and be able to go back and fix them relatively easy. Overall, good prof.
Prof. Lee is great! I ended the class with a B (thank god she rounds). I'm not the best at math but the course was alright overall. You need to study and put in the effort in order to get a B and above. Whenever I emailed her she was extremely helpful and kind. Would 100% take her again
Easily the worst teacher I've ever had. Current taking stats online and this course is completely being taught by Chegg and Khan Academy. She will not help or instruct other than a few problems in the discussions. The textbook is free and I can see why. Be prepared to teach yourself statistics if you take this course.
I enjoyed taking Professor Lees class for statistics, the homework problems are unlimited attempts and around 15-20 questions per unit. The textbook is available free online, which was a HUGE help. I would *highly* recommend attending the online tutoring service as well because they break down your question step by step and are really helpful.
Truly awful online experience. She rarely posted in discussion boards, didn't answer emails, & posted weekly discussion boards 5-6 days into the week leaving us with little time to post. I had to ask for the midterm review because she had forgotten. She went 15 days without posting in the course. And this is the chair of the dept. What a joke.
The homework has unlimited attempts, the tests have 3 attempts, midterm and final only 1 attempt. Get ready to teach yourself as there is no lecture video or meeting, just a free textbook and discussion boards that allow you to ask/answer questions from students. Midterm and final reviews are similar to the actual exam.
The professor does not provide lectures or any instruction at all, you just read the book & hope you understand the formulas & how to use them. The hw is done through MyOpenMath, but when you get to the midterm & final the questions are nothing like the homework & are extremely confusing. Even my tutor was confused & found errors in hw & tests!
Ive never had a teacher who relies on a textbook (which had errors) to teach a class, a difficult one at that. You will not pass this class thanks to the teacher. You will have to find outside sources to help, as she suggests to do. I cant believe she gets paid to do practically NOTHING. Whatever you do, dont take Lisa Lee.
Dr. Lee makes it very easy to pass this class, but only if you're willing to teach yourself statistics to get by. She doesn't teach at all, you rely on classmates and online resources to learn. She is nice but is barely present. This is an easy class ONLY if you are math-brained and VERY self-motivated to learn on your own via Khan Academy, etc.
Do not take this teacher online if youre not ready to teach yourself. I had to pay for Chegg study so I could really learn anything. She was condescending and rude when I privately emailed her. She wants to put in no effort. I passed with a TON of work on my own looking up hours of videos and solutions. If you need an involved teacher, shes not.
Covid so online. Unlimited retake on homework, a few quiz retakes, one shot at midterm & final and those two make up most of your grade. Midterm and Final follow the study guide. She doesn't teach and she's extremely hands off. You need to learn on your own. Pay a very, very, very involved tutor yourself and figure out how to pass on your own.
LOTS of homework. You have to study or you will not pass. Midterm and final are weighted heavy. Both consist of 15 questions that are definitely on the review exactly the same or very slightly different. Tests are remotely proctored with Proctorio. All HW has unlimited tries. Professor Lee is a great educator and will respond quickly to messages.
This professor does not teach at all. When you ask her questions via email she does not answer them and tells you to ask your classmates in discussion. The videos she has for teaching statistics are extremely outdated and the website she uses to have you take tests and quizzes has glitches, when you put in the right answer and marks them as wrong.
Professor Lee is great! She understood my fear of math, always guided me from the easy step, one by one. I am so thankful to have her as my teacher, she was so patient. I was so amazed by her quick response. Her lecture explanations were clear and precise.
Don't take her if you want to pass. She gives NO lectures, so it's all up to you to read the book & take your own notes. Tests are graded heavy but you get 3 attempts. Unlimited hk tries, midterm & final are worth a lot of points but only 15 questions, with study guides. This is not an easy class, very frustrating with having to learn on your own.
I liked how in the discussions we were able to help each other out in our homework. Also, our professor is very patient and wants you to succeed. 10/10 would take this class again (:
Follow syllabus to do weekly assignments, put any questions on the discussions board, Professor Lee will reply to you quickly with solutions and step-by-step explanations.
Do not take ever. Does not respond to any emails. Plus most of the work needs to be learned from looking up other resources. Videos attached to lesson were unrelated to topic. Had to even pay for a tutor to solve a specific problem just for her to correct herself that the answer was never going to be right so nobody should spend their time on it.
If you do the necessary work, her tests and homework assignments are very easy. Great teacher.
Very straightforward class. We were given a 40 question practice test for the midterm and final, with 20 of those questions getting randomly selected for the exam. I had taken Calculus 1 before so for me this was very easy, but I can see how students would struggle considering I took the online class where it was all self taught, no lectures.
STAT160 with Prof. Lee is challenging, but manageable with dedicated effort. The class is self-paced, with unlimited homework retakes and a heavy focus on the midterm and final. Unstuck study and other study resources can be extremely helpful for preparing.
ok so i would say the same thing as the other reviews that she was basically MIA for the entire course. i used online openstax lectures to understand the material as i cannot read. im math brained and took calc classes so if you are a similar case then i would recommend. exams are easier than the practice material, imo.
Obviously overwhelmed by her position as head of the department and taken on more classes than she should, especially as someone with no media literacy. She spent every first 20 min of class explaining how Proctorio works, never responds to emails, don't get a study guide for exams until right before exams and only get a score and no feedback
Professor Lee responded to my questions with explanations in detail so fast. The Discussions forums are helpful and interactive with my classmates and Professor Lee. Excellent class!
the thing with this class is that there is limited instruction but the tests are on the easy/lighter end. she seems like a nice person and she offers midterm/final exam review tests which represent the final. i would recommend if you are a good self learner.
Stats 101 was my first ever concurrent enrollment class, and it was very manageable. Each week ~6-10 chapters to read, 1-2 homework modules (ea 10-15 questions), and a test for each section (x3 attempts). Prof responds to canvas msgs in 24-48 hours. Discussions are easy credit. Tests and midterms have a lot of typos. Free online textbook.
Professor Lee is awesome! Super organized and always responds. Homework is simple with helpful videos, and discussion posts are easy credit. Quizzes can be retaken as many times as needed. Study guides match the midterm and final closely, and the free online textbook is a plus. Great teacher and great online class.
