she explains things at a five year old's level, very easy class
She is a very good teacher, if you ever have a problem, you can go to her, and she will give you all the help she possibly can. There is A LOT of work in the class, but as long as you attend, it's easy.
good teacher, but hard class
easy the hardest part is not screaming at her that we are not in 1st grade
pretty good!
She at times moved too slow.. as if teaching to elementary age students. Other than that it was a very good class.
if you have already had her you will know what i mean when i say "WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?"
Very helpful, and really enjoys teaching.
Good techer...goes over and over things

She talks like a kindergarten teacher.
Great teacher and very clear in her teaching!
She's an okay teacher. Class takes way too much time.
I dont get you people. The class is easy, but she is one of the most boring teachers I have ever taken. She takes way too much time to explain the homework, which we just go over again in recitaion. I don't think I learn much from the lectures. The TAs are the ones who really teach in my opinion
DONT TAKE HER. She's SOOO annoying to the pt that its hard to sit through her class. Her voice, omg. Class isn't too hard, I got a B. Have to go to recitations. She takes an hour to do a 5 min. problem. Its horrible to sit through. Tests not too bad, excels kinda suck but theres some easy EC
She is tiring to listen to after a while, but she knows the subject. You will learn what you need to know in her class.
I suggest going to office hours regularly both with the TA as well as the teacher. Material can be a little frustrating if you are not really intrested in the course. She is very approachable and will answer questions. Best teacher to take if the class is required.
This teacher is very helpful. She explains all the material clearly and always offers help. Very nice lady, take her if you can. But make sure you go to the friday classes, for all the quizes.
Very nice teacher, very helpful. Take her if u can.
Very nice teacher. Lectures get kinda long, but she really knows her stuff, and explains it well. Make sure you go to the Friday classes.
boring, does have a kindergarden-ness to her. but will help if you need it. recitation important.
Bogus class. Grades not reflective of whether you know the subject or not. She is nothing more than a two dollar ****.
Very nice teacher, knows the material well. Take her if you can
easy class just work hard in the beg and learn the concepts then for the next exams basically just go over the study guide she gives, i got an a, there is no reason you should get below a b if you try... bring newspaper to class to pass time, its pretty boring but she's nice...

Tough material, nice teacher. Responds to emails and accetps most excuses.
She an ok teacher, her voice gets really annoying sometimes. Her lectures are long and drawn out but she covers the material very well. The T.A.'s are always willing to help. Do the extra credit and you can get a C on every test and still pull of a high B.
Mrs. Madlinger's teaching style is very straightforwad and she's extremely thorough. Sure, many things that take me all of 5 minutes to do she'll spend 15 - 20 on, but I'd rather a teacher be TOO thorough than not enough. She encourages questions, and answers them respectfully and, go figure, thoroughly. She is very approachable and personable.
this class is a joke..i thought it was going to be hard & i have a 95% in the class...
This class isn't easy but it's a lot easier then my other business classes. Your grade isn't all based on exams which is AWESOME!!!!!!!!
She goes through the material very well. A class that is very easy to get the material. There is a lot of extra credit and stupid work that can get easy points.
There are a lot of points in her class, which help when it comes time for your final grade. Make sure you take the excel's and AFI's seriously, because they really do help your grade. If she offers extra credit, DO IT!! you'll kick yourself later if you dont. She is very nice and helpful, HATES cheaters, approachable. my TA was awsome!
too easy
Great Professor, you can expect to work hard though!
easy A - just pay attention & you'll be fine
Gives extra credit points, take advantage of it. She presents the material in a very clear and concise manner. Always asking and willing to answer questions from students. Do the homework prior to class and all class assignments, you will be fine.
Very excited about Accounting so that helps. Tests are hard but if you study you can get at least a B. Recitation is a must. I would be getting a C if it wasn't for my TA so make sure you get a good TA as well.
She is a great teacher but her tests are difficult. STUDY hard for the exams, do the easy excel and afi projects and you'll do well in her class. you DO need the book. Her slides are perfect for studying and she posts them online. so if you miss a class here or there, it's not a huge deal.
Great Professor! Helps out a lot! Trys to make sure everyone understands material! Recomended!!!
She is one of the worst teachers I have ever had. She puts me to sleep every day with her monotonous speaking, and she just reads from the slides. The class is extremely easy though. There are tons of little quizzes, homework assignments, and extra credit opportunities to boost your grade.
Really easy A. Do the homework, all AFI and Excel you'll be fine. The EC will save your butt too. For minimal work and showing us once a week for lecture this class was preety easy. Slides are easy to understand and a perfect reference for the exams as well as the quizes on friday recitations. Good class, easy going professor, easy A.
she is really easy, helpful, understanding, and willing to help you understand the chapter. Dont be afraid to ask for help , print powerpoint for each chapter, and she goes over each homework assigment in lecture.
i didn't like how she was so perky, kinda weirded me out since she's like that with accounting, but she's a nice lady. the lectures are boring, know the slides the exams are total crap, and the homework in the book is a little challenging. the excel assignments are pretty easy.
Lisa Maligner is a clear instructor who makes the material easier to understand the more you attend class.
She is soooo boring. reads from the slides that she posts on blackboard. no need to go to class, you will fall asleep.
She knows all about Financial Reporting and was able to convey the information in a clear manner so we all understood. Her exams and projects were not that difficult as long as you study the review sheet and do all the problems she assigns. Strongly recommend her for ACCY 331
She really wants everyone to know the material and do well in class, even in the big Barsema auditorium. She walks around the auditorium while teaching to be interactive with the students.
Very clear explanations- makes sure no one is unclear- Good teacher, knows what she is doing- good presentations
Shes a good teacher making sure you know the material, but talks to you like your in third grade. Class is really easy. do the extra credit its like 20 points. TAs are really helpful by going over material before quizzes.
Take this class at a community college if you can... I hated Lisa Madlinger!! She talks to the class like it is full of kindergarteners! I am an accy major, and I am rethinking that decision after taking her class. I had a hard time paying attention because the sound of her voice made me want to stab myself in the ear with my pencil!
I loved her! best professor ever!!
She is definitely the best teacher I have had so far. I got an A and did not read the book once but went to all the lectures and recitations. You need to take advantage of the study guides and extra credit. Do well on the quizzes and they will boost your grade. Overall, I would recomend her to anyone!
Very Enthusiastic about teaching accounting.
Boring but do homework and go to class so you can stay ahead and not have to cram b4 exams...u should be able to pass but do study and go to the TA's so you can get 100 percent on every excel and AFI assingment.
she is a great teacher, very clear in explaining things but you have to go to class and pay attentnion and also go to recitation. plus she gives extra credit!
Lisa Madlinger was a great instructor for this class. She communicates the material so everyone understands and doesn't move on until all questions are answered. This is the best class I have taken so far in Accounting. The material covered in this class is priceless for future accountants. Keep your book! It is the holy grail of information!
High fives to all the smiley faces. You have to be a failing loser to have disapproved of the accounting education that Lisa Madlinger provided. I can't picture anyone at NUI who could demonstrate Accy 206 as effictively as she does.
very easy to understand go to class and recitations. do the hw and extra credit and u have an easy A
good teacher
Great teacher. Very perky and enthusiastic of material being taught which translates to an easy understanding of the subject matter. Highly recommended.
As a business major this is the EASIEST class you will ever take. I'm in it right now and have a 103% in the class. She gives alot of extra credit so take advantage of it! I loved this teacher! She is really nice, easy to understand, and most importantly, always makes sure you understand the material before moving on.
Lisa Madlinger is by far the most amazing accountancy professor I have had. She explains the material to her students in a way that they can understand. It was the first accountancy course (and business course, for that matter) that I had ever taken and I got an A in it. She assigns hw problems and a few projects but so many EC opportunities. =)
Does a very good job at trying to help students out. Tests are a bit challenging at first but reviewing homework helps ALOT. Gives some extra credit. A few projects and "surprise quizzes" (she hints at them tho) but nothing too hard. Go to class, take notes, and study a decent amount for tests and should get an A with not too much problem.
She is very nice and always tries to answer students questions. If you can't get at least a B in this class you don't belong in college or you just didn't try.
Really helpful. She'll re-grade the excel for you if you think you deserved a better grade. Study the power points for the exams and go to the review for the final! she writes it based off the test and it helped me a lot!
She was a good teacher, there are tutor sessions for the class and exam review sessions, both of these are very helpful. Do the homework, make sure you understand it and you will do fine on the tests. I did the homework and read before the first tests and had a 97% in the class. after that i got cocky and didnt do the HW n my grade slipped to a B
This class was very challenging for me. The Professor is extremely helpful and encourages students to come to her office for extra help. The TA's and GA's are helpful and available to help as well. Professor teaches at a level that is easy to understand. The key to passing this class is to attend the exam review sessions.
I got an A in this course. This course could be challenging, but it depends,it's easy for me. There are several excels , AFI and homework, but if you listen carefully in class,go to review session,go to recitation every time you will be fine. My total grade of this course is 97% of total points.
She was really laid back. You have to go to all the recitation classes cuz there are quizzes almost every friday. The TA's were helpful. She gives a lot of extra credit like over 20 pts worth. TIP: Work really hard throughout the semester because the final was hard but because the class was easy overall I had 100% in the class before the final.
She is a great and helpful teacher. She helped me out whenever I needed her help and was not stuck up like my other professors. She was patient as she tried to explain the material to a rather dumb class. Highly recommended
Very clear and concise presentations. Power points are on blackboard. Homework is optional. Quiz every week in recitation. Just take advantage of the TA because they do most of the grading. Overall not a bad experience. Even easier if you actually go to class.
I didn't realize how great of a teacher she was until I got into the harder accounting classes. She is really nice, so be sure you pay attention to what she teaches to help you out with future classes!
Posts lecture slides online, gives 30 EC pts if you go to class when she sends around attendance. AFI/Excels aren't too hard, basic stuff from OMIS. Not too bad of a class considering it's accounting.
Good mix of book, handouts & lecture. Engages students and generates good class participation. Spends most of her time amongst students teaching via conversation versus from seat behind desk. Class exercises bring the lectures and homework together and reflect real world use & challenges. Tests are challenging but aligned well with assignments.
Make sure to go to class, an easy 35 extra credit points right there. If you bring notes to class for that day along with doing the homework problems, you should be fine for the tests. Make sure to go to review session and to pay attention when she goes over directions for the projects.
Attendance can be extra credit from time to time. I bs my way through the course and got a B in the class
She has the class set up very well. It was very organized. The homework and quizzes are not to difficult but the exams are. Study hard for those 4 exams, do your homework (you get all points just for trying), and take the quizzes (based off the homework), and you should be fine. Also hands out extra credit for attending the lectures.
Lisa was an awesome! Class can be challenging, but if you put in the work its an easy A. She gives extra credit once a week for attendance, completion points for homework, easy quizzes, along with projects. Tests aren't terribly difficult, just go to review sessions, and pay attention in class. Would highly recommend this professor!
Good teacher, she gives out a lot of extra credit for attendance which is enough to help your grade in the end. Try to do the homework that is assigned before classes because she'll call on you on the one day you didn't do it. Know the SI Reviews.
Lisa Madlinger is a great professor to have for your first accountancy course. She makes her requirements clear from the beginning. Even though she teaches in a big lecture hall, she provides individual attention that makes the class seem small. She is great at providing real world examples and makes the material interesting. Loved the class.
Apparently Ms. Madlinger decided to change her ways since last semester... she offered only 2 option for extra credit at 5pts each.. no points for attendance. Also homework is not completion points as mentioned. These two things alone will obviously not boost your grade as everybody says helps therefore the class is unfair basing it off RMP.
Lisa Madlinger was a wonderful professor. She teaches ACCY 206 in a large lecture hall, but she makes it seem like a small classroom. She always answers questions in class if you are brave enough to ask them. The grading criteria is also very clear. Accountancy is a very tough subject for some people, but Lisa tries to make it easy as possible.
Lisa was nice. Sometimes lectures are boring and a drag. But take notes to pay attention. Gives a lot of extra credit. SI sessions are great, TAKE ADVANTAGE. Exams are so bad. Go to review and study a week ahead, you should be fine. Don't miss extra credit, every little bit will help. No plusminus system.
Lisa was a great teacher. She always will answer any question you have. Class is tough but if you study and do all the assignments you will pass. Not a blow off at all! But a great professor would highly recommend
