I really enjoyed this class. I took it online and when i had trouble understand something I emailed her and she called me the same day. Some assignments take more time, but they are enjoyable

Professor McDonnell gives a lot of work, but if you follow instructions you will receive a good grade. She is tough with research paper, but still fair. Responds well to email and will help if you ask.

Dr. McDonnell is a very good professor. Her syllabus is very detailed and she is on the ball with grading and keeping in contact with her students. I would take another class with her in a heart beet. Needs offer more classes to students.

I would like to say that I really liked her class even though she gives ALOT of work, I turned ONE assignment in late. I have never turned anything in late and get good grades but I turned one thing in late because of a personal emergency and she would not budge. I am so dissapointed I really could cry! I hope she doesn't mess up my GPA.

Dr. McDonnell ran a great online class! Syllabys is easy to follow. The class had a nice tempo, you have to write 4 essays (not that bad) take 8 quizzes (open book) and participate in discussions weekly. The pace is perfect! I spent 1 hour reading a week, 1 hour participating in discussions, and studied for 2 hours before I took the quiz. No FinalE

I took Women and Society with Professor McDonnell. She does give a lot of work but it isn't too difficult and it is very thought provoking. An A is definately possible. I didn't turn in two assignment and I got a really high B which sucks but its my own fault not Professor M's.

Took social problems with prof. she is a totally cool prof. loved the class and learned alot.

easy a. there were times i didnt read the chapters and wrote my discussions just fine. weekly discussions and quizzes every other week. easy A class for online. take her.

I took Business Law as an online 8 week class and had no issues, the professor was very quick to answer emails and stuck to the sylabus! If you keep up with the work you will have no problems. Weekly posts and tests, the tests can be taken twice. There was no final for the 8 week class. I would highly recommend Ms McDonnell

Professor Mcdonnell's class can be hard if you do not do your work but if you do your work it is not a hard class to pass.

On the first day I thought I was going to hate this class. She did things that seemed so unorthodox, but later had a purpose. I love her class, I wish all of my Professors were as cool as she is :) Don't get me wrong, you have to do your work and show up for class, but I've learned so much from her and we are only 1/2 way through the semester!

She is hands down the best professor I have had at this school. Just follow the syllabus and you can earn an A. Took online always responded to emails swiftly and I enjoyed this course.

Class is tough but if you can focus and do the work its a piece of cake. weekly quiz and the answers came right out of the online book she gives you for free. She is a stickler when it comes to the discussions make sure you always beat the word count. overall it was easy she is a little slow with grades

This is the best class I have taken so far, and the first professor that has made me tears as I left class today. Her discussions kept the class entertained and she teaches about the topic of sociology with real life scenarios, would recommend this professor to anyone who has to take this class!

I took this class online, her syllabus is very clear and organized. Her grading is very fair. Weekly quiz, one paper and 4 large postsresponses. The workload was not overwhelming, it was really a great class.

Took her online class. Very clear expectations found right in the syllabus. Quiz once a week, one large paper, and four large discussion posts. Easy to pass as long as you try. I personally loved this class and plan on taking another of her online sociology classes over the summer wish I could fit one in next semester.

I love Marriage and Family class. It is online. Every week there are timed quizzes, two chances and both chances are averaged. The book is $10 on Amazon!!! If you have the book and read the chapter, you will pass. Every 4 weeks you have a 1000 word multi questioned "paper." It is all opinion so it is easy. Two other assignments. Easy A.

At first Dr McDonnell seems like she might be a hard nose teacher but she's really great. There is a good deal of work to do weekly but as long as you do it and do it on time you are pretty much golden. Loved this class!

Just a midterm and a final which are both very difficult if you don't memorize the material. The weekly discussions were more personal opinion than directly from text and required a word count. The class was self explanatory and the teacher would assist when necessary.

I took this class in the summer and it was so easy. You only had two test (midterm & final) and it was all from the Best Book. You had 3 discussions, and these take a little more work because it is about 15 or more short stories you have to read and answer but I don't think she reads them. Got 100% on all 3! Easy class!

Great class. Easy online course. Professor very clear on what she wants, and there is one large discussion post at the end of each 4-week module. Quiz every sunday for attendance. On the quizzes, be sure to read the notes/powerpoint/chapter or else the timed quiz goes by quickly searching for the answers. She is an awesome grader

Dr. McDonnell is the sweetest ever! Her online course consists of weekly quizzes for attendance and 4 modules due about every 4 weeks which consist of maybe 9-12 questions each. Easy course if you read the textbook, take the quizzes and do the modules. Replied rather quickly to emails. Would take her again, if needed!! Easy A for sure!!

This class was so easy. You have a small quiz each week and every 4 weeks a large discussion post, which is basically just your opinion to 12 questions. There is one major paper, but it's nothing difficult. Oh, and the best part - the text is FREE!!

she is kind and caring but she will put you in place if need be. her class was a lot of taking notes but the way she gives notes is easy to understand, she puts all big subjects on the board then elaborates them verbally. moderate homework, moderate studying. i enjoyed her especially bc she's respectable. come to class, pay attention&you'll get a B

I took her for the online marriage and family class. You have to write a lot of essays and do a lot of writing online, but it is worth it because she follows a very objective grading rubric and is clear about what she wants from the students.

Dr. McDonnell is by far the best teacher I have ever had. I would recommend taking her for Introductory to Sociology. If you study the worksheets she gives you, you'll do fine on the tests. She is very personable and has a good sense of humor. . I wish i could take her for all of my classes.

Took Dr. McDonnell's class and as long as you show up and do the work per the syllabus, it's an easy A. Some have said that she is liberal but she makes it clear that the information presented is from research and studies, and not necessarily representative of her personal beliefs.

This course is amazing, especially for full time workers!

Professor McDonnell kept her class very entertaining and interactive. Her lectures were also unique in that she presents them in the way she thinks of the material herself and also has us use the free online textbook which really helps contain the information. I don't find studying for exams difficult in the class, the lectures are so effective

Dr. McDonnell's face to face class was truly amazing. I wish she did more face to face courses! Her teaching style is strictly lecture and a TON of note taking, however, I've learned so much and really appreciate all of the information presented and will likely remember it for years to come as it was very impactful.

Was worried about taking this class online, but it was so organized and the assignments and grading were clear. I highly recommend taking her for sociology online! Complete all your assignments and you're good!

I took Professor McDonnell this semester for Social Problems and I loved this class. I found it was interesting and actually read the chapters instead of skimming. I liked the way the online class was set up, the assignment deadlines are clear and you have plenty of time. I couldn't recommend this class and professor enough. :)

I'm just now wrapping my SYG2000 course, which has been a breeze for me personally. As long as you submit your work on time and put forth effort you'll be able to get an A in this class no problem.

This was my favorite class I've ever taken. Do the work and get credit. Each module had a 12 question discussion but I thought the questions were relevant to the module and actually thought-provoking. I would definitely recommend this class with Dr. McDonnell.

Dr. McDonnell is a great professor! The lectures are fascinating, and she encourages discussion. The class is straightforward; take notes during the lecture, and the textbook is free online. You have a long time to complete the final assignment. I strongly recommend that all students take a course on sociology, it is very insightful on the world.

Totally love Dr. M!!! She is so knowledgable like a walking google! I have taken her online and face to face and she really kept my attention. She is funny and makes her lectures so interesting. I would take more classes with her but have already taken the 2 soc classes she teaches. I wish she taught more. Highly recommended

Mrs. McDonnell is a great teacher, she was very considerate during a very emotional time in my life and helped me whenever I needed it. However, before this event, she took a while to respond to my emails. So be prepared to wait a couple of days for a response. Besides that, be prepared to read and write. There are a LOT of questions to answer.

The layout of the class was easy to understand; just a weekly quiz based on the textbook reading as well as a discussion or textbook assignment at the end of each module. She always responded in a timely manner and overall it was an easy A.

I wish I could pick this professor for more classes because she was amazing! I had no trouble getting through this class and all the modules were set up easy with no confusion. Graded by discussions and textbook homeworks/quizzes. I love sociology and I love how so many of these assignments were opinionated. Fun class!!

easy layout to understand. Do not miss any classes as the notes are strictly her lectures. There is a big assignment that you have all semester to complete. It is not hard just a lot of work so get started on it early. There are 4 exams and 4 worksheets to complete before each exam. Just show up and do the assignments, you'll get an easy A.

This was my second time taking Professor McDonnell but for a different class. I love how her courses are straightforward and easy to follow; you always know when something is due. Each module was a few weeks long, consisting of a discussion and video questions, and a quiz each week. Easy A in my opinion.
