this class is boring she dosen't really help you. her test are online and timed. You have to do stupid projects and article review which she dosen't help you. Take a different teacher if you want a good grade
The class is horribly boring. She will NOT help you, believe me I asked. She CANNOT teach! If you want a good grade run in the other direction. I normally am an A+ student and I am barely scrapping by with a B.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! If you want a good grade, run in the other direction. The class average is 60%!
she is the worst teacher ever. don't take her for nutrition. and she doesn't help you if you have a question. she'll just say something totally different then what you asked.
DO NOT GET HER! SHE IS A HORRIBLE TEACHER. SHE DON'T EXPLAIN NOTHING AND SHE SUCK AT ANSWERING QUESTIONS!
Bad Bad Bad. This subjuct is near and dear to my heart and I couldnt follow anything she taled about (notice I did not say teach) Chose another Professor.
Okay the woman is boring. She teaches nothing to you. She goes over everything way too fast. She answers questions with questions. You get nothing from lecture time. It's just better to take online that to hear her drone for an hour and fifteen minutes. Don't do it !!!
She is very intelligent but doesn't teach very well. She talks to you like someone one her level. There's multiple papers to write and projects. Her study guide, worksheets, notes and lectures are all different and shes rude when you ask a question.
HORRIBLE INSTRUCTOR. Just readig off a powerpoint is not teaching to me. She does not give you time to take notes and forget asking questions..she just passes you off like your crazy!! i was excited about this class now i just want it to be over. SHE IS THE WORST!!!
The questions that are on the quizzes and test are random. SO IF YOU THINK YOU KNOW IT, YOU DNT. unless you took all your bio's, anatomy's, && physiology classes. HER CLASS IS COMPLEX PERIOD. She wants you to do 2 papers, a page long each. The computer project is awful as well. I will update you later on what I passed her class with.
Hi. I'm here to tell you about Lisa Mosing. What I have to say is LONG and continue reading the posts under this one. Right now I have a high 79 C in her class. I am trying extremely hard to do maintain it. ONE WORD I CAN SAY IS "AWFUL." Anything worksheets, study tips, study guides that she gives you are NO HELP. Continue reading below.
She is a sweet lady..but she does not teach where you learn and know what to study for the quizes and test..her reviews do not help..her test and quizes are online so make sure you have google, book, and a buddie on hand if you want pass the class..and as for mid term and exam just pray..love lisa but sry yo need to work on your teaching skills...
Avoid! 1 ST yr unfocused & unrealistic Prof. Overload & useless online info & big waste of time that could be spent on her wonderful BS projects. If you do not have Bio and AP I & II, you better not take any other classes & pray. She said with a straight face our class is her best, yet the class avg is in low 60?s. I have had demanding profs and e
Do not take this teacher! Worst teacher I have ever had. She reads her powerpoints quickly, but there is no point paying attention anyways. Tests and quizzes are impossible! Half of the questions were not even touched on, and the information isn't even in the books half of the time. You're setting yoursf up for failure, beware.
I took her this fall. Nutrition and health has almost always been a hoy or desire of mine. The First section starts out ok but after that it gets complicated and hard. The book is easy to read, but there is just too much information to memorize to be prepared for her quizes and tests. She does not prepare you for them at all.
ABSOLUTELY THE WORST TEACHER IN THE WORLD ! TESTS AND QUIZZES ARE ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE TO DO GOOD ON. SHES HORRIBLE AT HER JOB AND SHOULD BE FIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHE DOESNT LIKE ANSWERING QUESTIONS ABOUT ANY TOPICS DISCUSSED AND SAYS YOU SHOUDL ASK A DOCTOR. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE, WHICH I DID NOT. RUN AWAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This teacher knows her stuff. If you're looking for an easy class, this is not for beginners. You have to do your work, there's a lot of it. Teacher is very helpful, all you have to do is ask. Very informative, but fast paced.
Horrible teacher, nice lady. Knows her stuff BUT does not teach well. Tests do not follow the book. She only reads through power points and at a pase that is too fast to take notes. Make sure you have a good study group if you take her, b/c you will be teaching yourself!!!
Took this class online, I only listened to the videos for the projects, to get more info. I had to teach myself, but it was easier than listening to her in class. I made an A, but there were a lot of tears and sweat that went into this class.
Knows subject matter - but needs to slow down her lectures. Extremely helpful in and out of classroom.
Apparently she must have dumb downed the class & became helpful since I took her class in order to get some good ratings like the ones listed below. I earned an A+ by teaching myself. Her lectures are near useless.
I like her as a person but I am lost in this class it is sad that it is possible to pay all this money and have a teacher who can screw you right out of you A average because the material is not what is on the tests and the tests are a major part of your grade ou either have to be a nutritionist already to get it or sit with the group of randoms wh
READ, READ, READ!!! This is the only way I choose classes now, and reading this has helped me with performance in her class. Like all previous statements, you can literally teach yourself, buy the book, read ALL material before lectures to cement facts.
I was afraid to take this class because of the reviews here. If you attend class, read the chapters, and complete the assignments on time you will do well. This teacher is amazing! She gives specific instructions on all assignments follow them. Do not fall behind on the reading and pay attention to the syllabus. Happy studying.
She dose not clarify what will be on the tests. She does not respond to questions during class. Overall I would not take her as a professor again. :(
DO NOT TAKE INTERACTIVE TV CLASS!!!! It is like being at a BAD business seminar! she rattles on, doesn"t answer questions and the only information you will get is from your fellow students. IRSC is trying to make money by teaching 4-5 classes at once. And the student & material suffer. !!!!!!
Only into the first quarter and I find her lectures completely boring and hard to listen to. Her chapter reviews are detailed but it doesnt seem that her quizzes follow them so whats the point? Her mid term review is going to be all missed questions on the past quizzes..How about a study guide to review everything that will be covered?
I would NEVER in MY LIFE reccommend anyone take this class. If u get stuck with her like I did, gather a large group of people in the class, and form an organized "study group" *wink wink*. You should maintain an A with this strategy:)
I thought she was a great teacher, very helpful at all times. what she wants done is very clear. I would recommend her to anyone you really do learn a lot.
Interactive TV class was very difficult. No time to ask questions. Very fast pace and tests are hard. Form a study group and help each other!!!! She is very helpful if you visit her in her office and helps you with questions missed on past tests. Very hard teacher but she know her stuff.
I took online and it was ALOT of work. She is helpful s she adds projects to do to help out your grade if you are not a great test taker. All tests were online and timed except for the midterm. You must read the textbook and to help study for tests be sure do the online quizzes and WATCH her videos and TAKE NOTES!Great professor, she knows her stuff
I had her for Nutrition, and it was a good class. She is very thorough in her lectures and what she expects for assignments. Ample extra credit. The key is to take notes on her video lectures. I made an A and I just did the lectures, assignments, the quizzes, and the exam. She is very quick to help you , so I appreciated that alot
Just a great teacher, knows so much about the subject matter, very helpful with all assignments. I recommend Mosing to anyone who wants to really learn about nutrition. Fantastic!
such a great teacher, If you want to learn about nutrition take her ! the class is not a give away but if you study and follow directions you will get an A. I would recommend her to anyone ! 5/5
She was a great professor to take online. She really does know the material and wants you to pass. It is not an easy course, you do have to study for it, ALOT. But I highly recommend her! And it is a great class to take online if you are unable to take the lecture. Her videos were extremely helpful!
She knows her stuff about nutrition but she teaches the course like you're majoring in nutrition. Quizzes and tests are very hard, nothing she gives is helpful for them! She gives you a question, when you ask a question. I took the course online..BIG MISTAKE! Yes there's extra credit but it doesn't help because the course is IMPOSSIBLE with her!!
She is very knowledgable. The class is very difficult. All of the tests and quizzes are online except the midterm (which is easy compared to the other online exams). YOU HAVE TO STUDY for this class. Get a study group together. Read the chapter and highlight. I got an A in the class, but you have to actually put forth effort and know the material.
Teches Nutrition (easy Topic, right?) - NOT WITH HER. She is unclear as to goals and spreads your study resources out over four different areas (3 Internet sites and txt bk) - She is not clear as to expectations and is of NO help - cold as a clam. You'd do better to take this course online with anyone but her.
She really isn't as bad as everyone makes her out to be. I took her during summer and still managed an A. There is alot of work but all of the tests are online besides the midterm and the two essays are simple. questions from the quizzes are on the test too. just read the notes/powerpoints she provides and you will be fine. easy A just don't slack.
TAKE THIS ONLINE! This class could have been taught MUCH better. All but 1 test are online. She's the only teacher.. HAVE to take her. To get an A for online, read notes, book and watch online lectures. Testing window small. Sometimes only 2 days. Rough in the summer.
Took this class online for Summer 2. She really isn't that bad. If you ask her for help she will give it to you. If you read her notes, and watch her videos that is pretty much the tests. I would take her again if I had too. Just don't slack and you will receive an A!
Took her online. There is alot of studying and easy projects to do. But the exams, although timed, were not hard simply because it was taken at home and open book. She is a good teacher and easy to understand.
This instructor knows how to teach online, other instructors could learn a lot from her. The class takes work, but if you put in the time you can get an A and learn. Instructor is very responsive, and you don't miss out by taking it online. Great class!
This teacher knows her stuff. She is great at responding to emails and gives out easy projects to help your grade. I passed all of her test with flying colors. Just watch her videos read the chapters and you will do just fine. It's not an easy A, but if you put effort into it you will get the grade you deserve.(All test are at home except midterm)
Awful teacher, took the interactive TV class, her lectures and her tests did not match at all wouldn't advise taking her
She was very confusing with the side homework assignments she assigned. Missed a B- by 1 point and she didn't bump me up. Her online lectures are raw, and boring, it was more like nails on a chalk board the whole time.
Teaches as if you are a Med Student and is highly fast-paced. Her lectures are drawn out and a bit dry. However, she's approachable after class and allows you to see wrong answers on quizzes and tests (great mini tutor moment if you are struggling). She's passionate about nutrition and gives ample projects to boost points. I got an A.
Professor Mosing is extremely professional and demands hard work from her students. I took her for Nutrition last semester and I enjoyed the class. I can't say that she is easy, but if you study hard and read the chapters then you should get an A.
She was great teacher.
Online class, Summer II. Class was fast. Professor Mosing gives you plenty of assignments to help boast your grade and the final was online at home. I would recommend taking the class just be aware that the summer workload seems high
Online: DO the work and you'll ACE the class. I say that with 100% certainty. She has videos & notes. All test are at home besides the midterm (even for non-online students.)People said "this class is hard and it's a lot of work"... college is not the easiest for me and I disagree! Once again do the work and you'll be fine!!!!
If your IQ is above potato, earning a good grade is easy so long as you read the book. If your concern is quality, then avoid. I honestly think I could have gotten an A if I'd been handed the book and just showed up several weeks later for the final. Instruction was verbatim to book, at times confusing,& ineffectual. Monotone, bland pedagogy.
This course isn't really difficult with Prof. Mosing. She provides lecture notes & records each lecture. All exams & quizzes are online expect for the Midterm. She give bonus quizzes & projects to help boost your grade. Easy A if you read lectures before each exam & quiz. :)
3 labels, 2 review articles or 3 (you'll see) and she skims what you write, quizzes, exams, midterm & final. Everything online (even if you take the class in person) besides the midterm. The midterm has to be taken in person. She gives a study guide for it. If u have q's go to her office she is helpful. Just ddddddo the work, easyyyy A!!!!!!!!!
Very organized, provides all the dead lines on he syllabus and sticks to them. Provides notes, records lectures, gives extra credit and Is very clear on what you need to do to pass. Willing to help if you come to her office , all work is done online and works with you if there are system issues. Has good nutritional tips and I find her funny.
DR. Mosing is a wonderful teacher. She is very quick to answer any questions. She leaves comments on completed quizzes/tests; With this being a summer class, it is VERY fast paced. Keeping up can be difficult; do NOT miss a single day of class or you will be confused. Overall, I really enjoy this class and Dr. Mosing being my instructor.
She's very helpful and knowledgeable.
Took online during Summer 1. Definitely fast paced and you need to keep up with timelines found in syllabus. Study lecture notes and watch videos to do well on tests. Opportunity to earn bonus points. Instructor is responsive to questions and provides feedback quickly. I would take this instructor again.
I took this class in the summer and it was fairly fast paced. Really all you have to "learn" is the first 8 chapters because she gives her midterm on campus. Every other test is taken online. She is VERY quick to reply to emails. She is fair with her grading and she is pretty lenient with grading as well.
I took this class online and had a very hard time understanding the material. The professor offered no help at all. You cannot review the test and quizzes to see what questions you got wrong or what you need to study more for
Great teacher took her online and her videos really helped me. Take notes while you watch the videos! Tests can be tricky but she will let you know what you need to study. I got an A shes great:)
Very good teacher. Easy A
hard test (lectures and her tests did not match), no test reviews
Lots of assessments and a couple of projecrts but overall the class is Easy, Just make sure you do ALL assigments on time. She responds to emails within 24 hours and will answer all your questions. Quizzes are open book! so how could you not pass??
For me this class was an audio-visual class. This means that we were in a classroom and all we saw was her computer screen and heard her voice. It was one of the most worthless and unnecessary classes I have ever taken.
I don't know why so many people complain about her. I think she is in excellent teacher and a very easy grader. Definitely one of the easiest classes I've ever taken! I also learned a lot in the process. Try to get her for an online class. DO NOT take the broadcasted classes unless it's your only option.
Lecture was videoed on a different campus so just heard her voice and saw powerpoints. Talks super fast. Flips through slides too fast. No opportunity to ask for clarification because she is being taped. Can't see which tests questions were wrong so can't learn from quizzes or tests.
Dr. Mosing is an awesome teacher for Nutrition. Since she is a Registered Dietitian, she has real world knowledge and experience in her field. She gives good feedback if you ask for it. She posts the lecture notes online and they really help as study guides. Be sure to get to class on time because she is very punctual.
Nice lady, super monotone. Kind of hard to stay awake. Majority of the class is done online. Easy A
She only communicates through a broadcasting system. She has no cellphone number available, she's hardly ever at any of the campuses, and she takes forever to respond to email (although that's the only way of getting in contact with her).Taking this class is taking a risk!
she's awesome! very easy grader.
Dr. Mosing clearly knows her stuff, but she reads straight from the powerpoint which is straight from the book, almost word for word. Her notes that she provides to you are redundant and I often found myself going back and forth trying to understand why the same info is written 2 or 3 times. Easy grader, tests are online so that makes them easy.
Dr. Mosing is very knowledgeable about the material that she teaches, yet doesn't make it interesting for the class to go the extra mile to learn. You can do the bare minimum which is look up the quizzes and tests on quizlet and get an A. If you don't prep for the midterm you will do poorly. Easy A, but I remember none of the material unfortunately
She knows her stuff but her lectures are long and boring. She goes almost word for word by the powerpoint. There's not really much class participation. Attendance is not required and all tests and quizzes are online except the midterm. She replies back to emails in a decent enough time. Not my favorite or most interesting teacher, but easy enough.
Mosing is incredibly knowledgeable in her field of nutrition! Be careful though, she talks fast and will fly through slides because she expects you to have read that weeks chapter. There is a test or quiz almost every week and are easy if you have READ the content. She is sarcastic and implies dry humor at times. She doesn't drop any grades
Dr. Mosing is very knowledgeable and passionate. However, her lectures can be boring at times as there is not much interaction. She does expect you to read the chapters, and if you do that it will make tests and quizzes a breeze. She is there for you if you need it and is very understanding. I enjoyed and would recommend this class to others.
Very nice teacher. She will help you if you need it but you won't need it much as long as you pay attention and take lots of notes. Read the book !
Reads PowerPoints basically the whole class period. Little explanation on the stuff she reads. all work is online which works for me but gave no study guide for midterm which was hard. easy but not the best.
One of the first courses I ever took when I was a dual enrollment student... She was so ridiculously boring. There's no class interaction, and she has no enthusiasm at all for her menial task of reading from a powerpoint. By the way, it's hard material, and a lot to remember. She's no help. Read the book.
Dr. Mosing was a very understanding professor. She allowed several late projects due to a family emergency. I feel like the class was fairly easy but I learned a lot. I took this class in the Summer online.
At first, I thought this would be an excellent class because Professor Mosing seemed to be organized and experienced. This quickly became my least favorite class. She is judgmental and the opposite of body positive. Get ready for extremely boring lectures. However, if you study and do the assignments, you will pass the class.
There is a test or quiz every week sometimes both, if you read the book you will pass. VERRRRYYYY boring lectures!!!!
Mosing is a okay professor if you're looking for a easy A but if you truly want to learn i recommend that you take someone else.
Lisa Mosing is a fantastic professor. Not sure why I see a lot of bad reviews on her. She responds to emails. The syllabus has all of the projects and you can start them early. I did a lot of the work early on. I got an A in the class. The tests and quizzes aren't hard online. One exam is on campus (midterm). Use Quizlet and READ! the! chapters!!
Though her lectures were long they were interesting and helpful , while lecturing she would flat out tell you hey what I'm about to teach is on the next test. I'm going to be honest her voice is ANNOYING but she's a great teacher! easy homework , fun projects!
She's the worst!!!!!!!! Her timing for her exams are very short kmt.
Show up to the first couple classes. All the work is done online disregarding the midterm. She is incredibly understanding if you talk to her. I highly suggest taking the 1 hour class 2 days a week. I took the 2 hour 1 day a week and it was impossible to stay focused because she has all the lights turned off when she lecture. EASY A.
I took this class over Summer and passed with an A. The midterm was the only test that was proctored and with the little bit of studying I did I got a 72. Summer was fast paced and we had 2-4 quizzes and test a week. You can find all the answers on Quizlet. Easy A. Books not necessary. Her notes cover the important items you need to know.
A really great professor who WILL work with students. Replies to emails and helps with questions. Midterm is proctored but everything else is at home. Be sure to put effort in (read the chapter + watch the lecture video) and you will do fine. Easy A is you are willing to put in the time. Overall, great professor worth taking again!
Read the chapters and watch the videos and you will pass. All exams and quizzes are take home except the midterm. A couple projects but they not hard.
I would not recommend taking her course online because she only allows you two days to take tests and quizzes and turn any homework in. Most people take online classes because they want the extra course work to complete but already have full classes or a job. Her class is not organized well and if you have any questions she doesnt respond.
Professor Mosing was a wonderful professor! A lot is packed into a lecture but if you pay close attention, write down what she says is important to know, read the text, and watch videos provided, you will do great! Lots of little projects but not too challenging. She will work with you and help you with any question and wants you to succeed!
Professor Mosing is an excellent instructor and really knows what she is talking about. The only downside to the online course was her due dates that didn't make sense/she only gives you two days to take her tests. The midterm is the only test required to be taken at the testing center so that's nice. Quite time consuming but not overly difficult.
caring and helpful when falling behind.
Very informative1
Took her online class over summer. Project heavy. Test heavy. Schedule was quick. First two tests were over seven chapters in one week. Not willing to adjust schedule when I asked if she could open one test earlier. Tests are doable. But taking her online, find your strategy for open searchable notes. Her lectures are DENSE and boring.
Dr. Mosing was a great professor, and she is prompt. If you do not do the work you will not get the grades.
Honestly she was great. People say her work is hard but honestly she shows you to do it. She makes sure that you are able to know how to the project and gives you examples. She doesnt critique and has great lectures. Do your work to the best of your ability and she with surely give a good grade.
Dr. Mosing was a great professor. Her lectures were very interesting and to the point. Dr. Mosing even had videos in her powerpoints to help explain some ideas. The tests are all online except for the midterm. There are 3 projects due and two article reviews that are homework. I would 100% recommend this professor for nutrition.
This specific class has A LOT of lecture heavy material, but the course is SUPER guided keeping you aware of due dates and upcoming assignments. Professor Mosing is always available and has definitely made it easier through the semester by sending our friendly reminders of when things are due.
I really enjoyed getting my A for this class. She comes off a little weird, but trust me you'll passed. All her tests and quizzes one word SOCRATIC, you're welcome!!
I really enjoyed her class. I learned alot and would 100% take her again as a professor. I really enjoyed her teaching methods and feel like if you read your textbook, know your definitions, and pay attention with the powerpoints you will now the material.
As long as your put effort in your homework and review the chapters this is an easy A in nutrition.
I took this class during COVID in the summer term. 13 assignments, 6 quizzes, 6 exams, 1 final. I don't know how people think this class is hard. I was on top of my work and used prior exam material to prep for the midterm (proctored) and final which are both cumulative for all the material covered. Tip: Take her and study questions from the exams.
If you miss an assignment, there are no makeups, so be prompt. I hated that once you completed a question on the test or quiz you can not go back and change your answer. I took the fast track class so it was alot of work 3-4 chapters of reading and 3-4 lectures over an hour long each every single week!!!
Dr. Mosing is okay. The assignmetns are due when the SOA say they are due. No make ups. So make sure you get the work done. Very sarcastic but in a funny way. Over al she is a oretty good teacher and the only teacher that theaches this course i believe
Be ready to listen to long lectures and don't slack on reading chapters first. Only thing I wish was different is that we could see what questions we got wrong on the tests and quizzes so we know what needs improvement. Be aware that if you haven't taken biology or similar already, like me, it will be tough.
Dr. Mosing is the only Nutrition professor. She is lecture heavy and lots of reading to be done. A few projects but she is an easy grader. If you just try on her projects you'll get full credit and just study for the exams you will do fine. Honestly I'd take her again.
shes nice
