Dr. Moyer makes her lectures interesting and her tests are take home (online). She uses the text book, but doesnt really assign reading. The only homework is weekly packback questions and occasionally some opinion writing. I would take her again, shes such a good teacher.

I love Ms. Moyers class! She is really clear about her grading. You need to read the chapters to help understand her PowerPoints but, mainly your only homework will be pack back questions! Her tests are always taken at home so you wont feel nervous and be more comfortable in your home. She is extremely helpful and reachable! Wants you to succeed!

Dr. Moyer is clear with grading, she shifted the exam layout (that we take at home to reduce stress) when she noticed our class was struggling, she gives extra credit, and is accessible outside of class. The main activities we have to do outside of class is PackBack questions (graded) and assignments she will post on occasion but will announce.

Dr. Moyer is definitely a teacher that cares about her students success. She gave random surveys for feedback and then she changed test format so that it is easier for us to do better. Tests are open note/book online so that you can test in a comfortable environment. Her lectures can get boring but read the book and you are likely to do well.

Definitely an easy class, she gives easy opportunities for extra credit and you can basically complete the whole course without even going to class. All quizzes, assignments, and exams are online and you can take them wherever you choose. I've heard other HDFS classes are actually hard so take Moyer if she has any slots available!

Professor Moyer is so caring! I believe she wants the best for her students and understands the material. Attendance is not mandatory but you definitely want the notes from someone. "Pop up" classwork is up anywhere from a few hours to 24 hours, so make sure you check canvas daily. I enjoyed this class a lot and I definitely recommend. all online

If you read and take notes on the textbook chapters you should be set to get A's on her tests! Overall Moyer has been one of my favorite professors and does an excellent job of showing her heart to students through her job. This class contains a good bit of tough/ emotional/ controversial topics and she does a good job of covering them efficiently!

This class is very easy, and while I always went to class, I probably could have skipped and been fine. Tests are open note/book and online. The only complaint I have is that she pushes her political beliefs on students. Also the class was at 8am and she would cancel after we already got to class which was annoying. Other than that, it was fine.

TAKE HER! Dr. Moyer actually cares for her students and their mental health. All tests were online and open-book so I didn't study and would just write page numbers next to terms on the study guide. Only assignment is Packback once a week and a super easy Friday assignment that you automatically will get a 100% on. Easiest A.

Took during Fall '20, so it was a hybrid class. Overall course was easy if you put time and work in. Tests were open book and notes. Professor Moyer is very nice and flexible. The only issue is the description of the class didn't match what we learned and were taught, but required to take it anyway. Still enjoyed the class.

i took dr moyer for hdfs 2000 and found her to be caring about us students. her actions showed she cared and she alwlays told us to be nice to ourselves. her tests are oaky but u can use notes which helps. not sure i agree wth her teaching about homosexual parents and couples, but most hdfs classes are the same way. u should take her at lest once!

Dr. Moyer is my favorite professor this semester! Her lectures are entertaining and she uploads them to panopto, so you won't miss any details from her lectures. A typical week of work in her class consists of a packback question and one short 10 min assignment. She is also very understanding and responds quickly to emails. A lot of extra credit.

Such a great professor. Open book open note tests. Final is not cumulative. Super easy to ask questions. One assignment per week and one pack back per week. They are basically 15 free points per week. Her lectures are short and sweet and she actually has a personality in them so they aren't boring.

There is a lot of homework but no tests so it makes up for it. If you are not great at keeping up with homework though dont take this class.

Probably one of the nicest instructors on campus. The class itself wasn't that difficult. Make sure to take good notes on her lectures because she allowed open-note tests. There was a project but it wasn't hard at all. She did cancel class a good bit of the time, but she communicated that with us well.

This class was interesting and one of the best classes to take if you're just getting started in HDFS! I enjoyed it so much I was disappointed when class was cancelled, I felt like there was so much we didn't get to cover. Her class was very interesting and the tests are a breeze if you go to class. If you like family, marriage, or social issues this is a class for you!

Lisa Moyer is a fantastic professor. I have had the privilege of taking two of her classes (HDFS 2000 & HDFS 4520). The course content she provides is not only relevant but interesting. She makes expectations clear throughout the class, making it easier to succeed. She also cares about her students, which really impacts morale for all.

Dr. Moyer is AMAZING!! Her lectures are very interesting and she usually ties it to her personal life, which helps with understanding the topics. We had four online exams and they were pretty easy. Each module had an online assignment due Sunday night, but she was really accommodating when I needed an extension. Be honest and she will help!!

Dr. Moyer is such a great professor! HDFS 3040 has a lot of sensitive information, but she's very adamant on not imposing any political belief on certain topics and creating a welcoming environment! There are 2 weekly assignments, but they aren't bad at all! Her loose due date policy is really helpful when you have busy weeks! Def would take again!

Dr Moyer is great and she is passionate about her teaching. I don't feel like I applied my learning very much other than exams which are open note/partner accessible anyway. The hw assignments were 5 points and often. This class is a little weird and uncomfortable to sit in lol but totally fine and easy A. She's a great professor though!
