I am not sure why all the frowns...Dr. Lisa is a very energetic teacher who tries to implement as much fun as possible into the classroom. If she were teaching ENGL 1190,I'd be happy to have her again!

Wonderful Teacher! Yes, a lot of essays, but she has so much to offer as a teacher. I would take her again if I could!

I took a class from her a long time ago and was happy to learn she was my teacher last semester. She is super nice and really cares that students learn. It is a busy class, but I learned so much I wish I could take another class from her. She should be full time. Wait to take the class until you get her. She's a really great teacher.

I hate to write papers, but she has made it fun so far!The last English class I signed up for I dropped at South Campus with Dr. Goldman. Don't ever take him!

Lets face it, no one likes to write papers. But if you need to take and English class, take it with Dr.Lisa. She gives lots of help and advice. She actually makes the writing process go alot smoother. Not to mention easier! Macomb should hire her full time, but it's all POLITICS! Take this class, you will enjoy English!

Dr. Lisa was a terrific teacher. Show her your passion for English and she allows you to turn things in at your own pace and will work with you through anything. I dreaded going to an evening class but having it with Dr. Lisa made it all worthwhile. Highly, highly reccommended.

She was such a great teacher. It was my first semester in college and I was extremely fortunate to have this class. Yes there were about 9 essays but it was a composition class so it was expected. She is a really nice person and an inspirational teacher. =]

Great professor. If you put in the effort, you'll do fine. She was the most helpful teacher I had in my first year of college. If you do the work, you shouldn't get lower than a C for at least effort. Tests are never tough.

This is my 1st yr of college and 1st semester. I am a full time student with 4 classes, this is my favorite class and teacher by far. Dr Lisa is a very compassionate professor and truly an asset to MCC. She helps you to look forward to the learning experience.I absolutely recommend this professor. She is #1

If you don't love this professor you need to take a few English classes with full time teachers. She is kind, fun, and logical. I think the reason they don't hire her full time is because they know if she had more classes to teach, no one would ever take a class with anyone else. There's no other reason to keep her part time. Hire her full time!!

The best English professor I have had! She is very laid-back, compassionate, funny, kind, and teaches in a way that is very easy to understand.

She is one of my favorite professors I have ever had! I had her for ENGL 1180 and wanted her again for this class! She is so helpful and so understanding and I loved talking with her sometimes after class! Quizzes and Major Assignments and your main grade! SUCH A FUN CLASS! Take her! I am going to miss her!

This instructor is awesome. She's very animated, yet thorough. She doesn't mind explaining the assignment in depth and giving a lot of examples. She makes herself available to anyone needing assistance. I do suggest not waiting until the last minute to do your homework. I would definitely take her class again.

More than anything, she wants students to learn and do well. She is always willing to listen to and answer questions. She likes to laugh and that makes the class go faster. Why they don't hire her full time is a mystery to me. Why anyone would love her is a bigger mystery. FANTASTIC professor.

Anybody can talk to this professor cause she really cares. She wants us to learn and doesn't try to scare you. She knows that we have lives outside of class so she is good about being flexible on assignments. That doesn't mean that the work is a blow off. She's nicer to some students than I would be. Try to take Dr. Lisa for English. She's great

She's great clear,funny, and nice. Good teacher. Made English much better than the classes my friends took. Told us on the 1st day that she believed in us. She really means that. Noone will regret taking her class.

Nice, nice, nice lady. She's enthusiastic and funny and relaxed in class. It's not easy, but she makes it so you can get an A. It's important to study for the quizzes. They can mess your grade up. She knows a lot about English and she's good about knowing what's important and not important to teach. No regrets with this teacher.

I waited a full year to get into her class and today is the last day of the semester. I am so sad because she is a wonderful teacher and I am going to miss her and her class. I will always remember her. Anyone who doesn't like this professor should take a different one and then they will know how great Dr. Lisa is.

The work in class isn't the typical thing where you just write research papers. You do product reviews and visual arguments and stuff like that. The lectures and quizzes are not easy but the assignments are more interesting than stuff I did in some other English classes. Really easy going professor. Nice lady. Good sense of humor.

Took this online and loved it. Several small projects like product reviews and using powerpoint to make an argument.I dreaded this class and ended up loving it. Dr. Lisa answered all my email fast. She told us right on the syllabus that we wouldn't need the book. Saved me more than $100. Lectures covered everything that was in the book.

One of my favorite professors. Easy class, easy grade. Very clear and attentive to students. Not tests, just quizzes. Take her!!

Dr. Lisa was honestly a really great professor. You will NOT regret taking any of her classes. She is easy-going, friendly, helpful and wants you to do great in the class. My fav professor at Macomb without a doubt. :)

Very easy teacher, she splits your final into 4 quizzes so no worries for a final exam. Papersquizzes are very easy. Would recommend her to anyone if you have a chance to get her.

Shes great. She makes class fun and the assignments are really short. By the end of the class I could find my own mistakes. I really like how there was always time to talk to her in private because I would be embarassed to ask questions in class. She always made me feel I was really learning. I hope she teaches the next class.

Easily one of the best teachers I've ever had. She barely gives homework, you almost always get out of class early, she actually helps you when you ask without making you feel stupid. You do have to do some group work, but its actually really cool because the class actually communicates, instead of awkward silence all the time. Just take her.

She had us write research papers, but she does stuff like visual argument too. We still wrote a lot but it was so much better than other English classes. There's plenty of work, but it's pretty easy. She's really nice and great about helping if you get lost. After it was over I realized how much I learned. She made me think a lot.

The easiest class you'll take at macomb

I talked about her so much my Mom want to meet her. So we learned a lot of ideas in there but everyone says how Dr Lisa makes you feel good about who you are.

I was mad to take this class it doesn't count toward my major. But I'm glad to take it because Dr. Lisa is cool. She makes it fun. Even the grammer is fun because of the games. The essays are easy the quizzes are hard. If I had her in highschool I would of done better.

I took this online in summer so it was only eight weeks. The essay topics were interesting and discussion topics were great. The discussions were my favorite part of class because we really had to think about meaningful issues. I would love to take a class from Dr. Lisa in person. Very fair requirements.

This is the easiest English class I've ever taken! She does not give a final exam which is absolutely amazing and her grading is very fair. I was dreading English class but taking it with Dr. Lisa makes English so much better. Definitely recommend!

Dr. Lisa is a fantastic professor. She actually cares about her students and sees out everyone's opinions since you write 5 essays the whole semester. She is fun to listen to and I actually enjoy coming to class to see Dr. Lisa she is always very warm and welcoming. I highly recommend this professor you will not be disappointed :)

Dr. Lisa is so so sweet and really cares about her students. She knows English isn't everybody's strong suit and helps out when needed. The essays are really interesting and are easy to get into. The quizzes are really straight forward and as long as you pay attention in class and do the work, you'll get an A.

I would highly recommend Dr. Lisa. She's kind and caring, gives interesting lectures, and has a sense of humor. She's an easy grader, but encourages you to do your best. She's interested in who you are as a person. She's nurturing both academically and personally. She gave me the confidence to be more authentic and honest in my writing.

Dr. Lisa doesn't try to fill the class with lots of homework and she never keeps talking just to fill up the hour. She is good about deciding what the important ideas are and telling us what we need to know for AFTER we get out of her class. I learned a lot and I wish she could teach all the English classes here.

I tested into English 0055, and took the class with Dr. Lisa. She was by far one of the best professors I've ever had! I realizes that her class was to easy for me, so I tested into a higher English. If she taught the class I tested into, I'd take it in a heart beat. By far, one of the best professors at MCC!

So much writing! I understand it's an English class, but man! It's not hard at all, just tedious. 1 paper due, 3 quizzes based on your own ideas, and discussion questions. The quizzes were 4-5 pages of work. I just hate writing :) If you love to write, then this class is perfect. It is all what YOU think. That is what the writing is based on.

She was a really good teacher and easy class. Really went easy on online classes, opened modules early so you could do at your own pace if you wanted to turn things in early, and communicated really well.

Amazing professor.

The assignments are all proving that you can think and support what you say. Sure, I wish there wasn't as much writing, but I learned how to give an opinion and prove it with evidence. We also learned how to respond to someone else's argument. 1190 made me a better thinker. The bonus is that she was nice and easy to communicate with.

Dr. Lisa is by far my favorite teacher Ive had at Macomb. I decided to take her class based on her ratemyprofessor score and Im so glad I did :) You can tell that she genuinely cares for each of her students and I looked forward to going to her class. The class is very easy, little homework at all. I hope I get the chance to have her again!

By far my favorite professor at Macomb! She is such a sweet lady and is very understanding. She kept the classes short and only about what we NEED to know. She did everything she could to make sure we knew what to do on our assignment. The few assignments that we had were a little time consuming but can be done easily with good time management.

This is a very simple course! All she cares about is that you come to class and complete the assignments given to you. She is very understanding of her students situations and doesnt hold anything against them if they are unable to make class that day. She understands that us students have a life outside of school. I recommend her to everybody!

Easiest English class Ive ever taken. Honestly, I didnt spend a lot of time in this class, which is amazing because English is usually very time consuming. As long as you understand the concept its an easy A. Shes quick to respond with help from emails, definitely the best teacher youll have. Ive never rated a teacher before but I had for her

EASY A!!! The professor is OUTSTANDING!! She gives feedback to each discussion post and each essay. I took this class online and she actually has videos of herself teaching some lessons so it felt more personal and made it easier to grasp the writing concepts. The essay topics were personal which made it a lot easier to write.

One of my favorite classes and teachers, she was super caring and always gave great feedback. The assignments and essays were fairly easy if you put the effort in and were always super about interesting topics. I would 100% recommend anyone to take this class, it was phenomenal. She opened all of the assignments so you could work ahead as well.

Dr. Neal-Gillim is the best professor at Macomb. She truly cares about her students and wants everybody to succeed. She is available to answer questions at any time. Her lectures are very valuable and will help you succeed. There are 3 essays, 1 powerpoint, 2 quizzes and 5 discussions. If you attend lecture and take notes, you will get an A!

if you need to take an eng 1180 or any English class take her She is the sweetest soul and super kind I loved her energy. Her class is based on off essays and discussion questions but the topics were interesting. For the 8-week we did a total of 4 essays supa easy. at the end of the class there are 2 quizzes but they are easy. Take this class!!

How could anyone NOT love this professor? She is so caring and easy to work with! At first, I thought the class was easy, but as I think about it now I realize how subtly tough it was. She wanted us to learn to think and she didn't accept lazy work. I've taken classes with her in person and online and both were great.

When I had Dr. Lisa everything was bad in my life. Job. Marriage. Finances. I was going to drop the class but she worked with me so I could get through the assignments. She took so much time listening and reteaching stuff so I would understand. She was flexible with assignments. I think she was a real angel on earth for me.

I took her English 1180 online and it was easy. She made it fun and engaging. I wrote 4 essays, responded to discussions, and took three quizzes online and that's it. There were times where I reached out to her through email about needing clarification on assignments that I'm confused about and she responded right away to help me with it.

I took this class with Dr. Lisa because people said it was pretty easy. I'm so glad I took it with her because yes it was not tough. What I loved was that she cared about me and the other students. She taught us what we needed and didn't keep us busy with useless stuff. Her lessons were clear. She is a great person and teacher.

excellent professor. class was online asynch and she opened modules ahead of time. receptive to feedback and answers emails quickly. ENGL 2800 with her had some discussion posts, 2 quizzes, and a final project that could be a research paper or power point. all the assignments were easy. definitely recommend this prof.

I just finished a class with Dr. Lisa and it was great. She makes it easy to understand what I needed to learn. What I liked even better was that she showed how I could use what we were doing in class in other places like my job. I don't think a teacher has to be super tough to be a great teacher. You can be kind and be great just like her.

Grades very well, very encouraging. Didn't have any issues and when I had questions, she answered them in a timely professional manner. 10/10 would take again!
