Loved her. She really helped me. She's very nice teacher and person.
I have never taken a more politically biased class, not even Political science! Slyly, Mrs Sapra attempts to bestow her own values on the young, idealistic and vulnerable students. The text book she picked is very slanted and lines up exactly with her version of today?s issues that she laces so cleverly throughout her home work and lectures.
Great teacher! Fun class! Mrs. Sapra is a wonderful teacher and I loved her style of teaching! All of her handouts helped me tremendously! Fun essays, never a dull moment in that class!
she is very nice
As long as you show up and do all of the work, i dont see how you can't pass the class. A bit difficult though, but attendence is 10 percent of ur grade and so is hw, just dont get behind and u'll pass.
Amazing teacher, but not an easy A. You got to put forth the effort on an essay, it is not just handed to you. I would still take this teacher again though, I learned a whole lot and my essays are a lot better.
Sapra's nice. She's pretty easy to talk to. She likes to listen to different points of views from the students. The short stories she assigns us are very hit and miss, which can lead to writing an essay you struggle with, which is frustrating. She doesn't respond to emails right away sometimes. She's not the best teacher but she's okay.
Absolutly Horrible!!I would definetly recomend not to take her class. She is extremely rude, and doesn't teach any valuable information. If your opinion is different than yours... god help you. She doesn't respect others opions and will "make fun" of them. I would never recommend her to ANYONE!!!!!!! DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!!!
REEEEEALLY RUDE, MEAN AND DOES NOT LISTEN TO OTHER'S IDEAS. SHE ALSO PUTS YOU DOWN AND MAKES FUN OF YOU IF SHE HATES YOUR IDEAS ON TOP OF THAT SHE LIKES TRYING TO MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE AN ASS IN FRONT OF THE CLASS
I am a bit dissapointed that everything she tought us is 300 is what i get graded down for in 302. I changed my writing style because of her and if I havn't i would have been recieving better grades in my 302 class...=(
Wow, i didnt realise how bad of a grader she is until i took another english class with another professor. 101 she is an "okay" grader, 300 she is the WORST! her topics are all over the place, and we even had in class essays with no idea what we are going to write about (stress!!). I really regret taking that class. all she talks about is politics
Prof. Sapra is very sweet, smart, funny, and helpful. I like the way she deals with students and like the feeling that I'm being prepared for other classes and papers.
an amazing teacher! extremely helpful and personable. she is an easy A as long as you do your work. she may talk politics, but the point is to get you to think and analyze the literature you're reading, which makes the class that much more interesting.
best professor ever. very helpful. took a different one last semester and this sapra is nothing like the other teacher. would recommend taking her.
Sapra's class is extremely helpful. If English is clearly not your best subject i could guarantee that Lisa will greatly help to improve your writing skills as well as your grammer and if not teach you some great writing tips.
Professor Sapra is not easy but she is helpful when asked or approached by email or office hours. Interesting class, learned a LOT but had to put in a lot of effort.
I did not like her at all!! Do not recommend her at all!!
Horrible teaching ethic. Do not take her class! prude, irrational. Just a complete amatuer. Has no buisness teaching at a college level!
A lot of people would say she is tough. She does push you but i guarantee that you will leave this class as a better writer!! she is very helpful with any questions or concerns. Follow the format of a typical essay or you are screwed. she grades highly on the structure of an essay.
complete oppisite of a teacher! she made me feel stupid if i asked questions, didnt expalin hw clearly. and the hw was mostly pointless. and we spend half the class goin over the hw every detail. and shes a over achiever at grading talk about red pen everywhere!!!!
Best Prompts EVER! Excellent teacher for Critical thinking. Her prompts make you really think. If you approach her essays with an unbiased mind, your grade will be very good. Overall, great quality teacher.
Follow your syllabus like it is Your Bible. Attend class ON TIME. Make sure you know her take on an essay topic. Ex:ur against abortion & she isn't=NO NO. She is brutal when it comes to grading essays. Use sources correctly in all your essays or she will deduct a HUGE amnt of points off your essay. She grades really hard for a engwr110 class.
Professor Sapra greatly improved my writing! She is tough, but as long as you stay caught up with the assignments and ask for help when you need it you will do fine. She is very clear about what is expected of every essay and will gladly walk you through any obstacles you may come across.
Took prof for online 302. Was very nervous but Sapra was a great teacher! Made online class very organized & detailed. She was constructive & helpful in her feedback. If extra help was needed, you could stop by her office hours & she provides wonderful support one on one. I would take her again!
this class was two levels lower than what i was suppose to be in. However,(:) <--- i learned that) i still found myself learning new things. i thought this class was a great refresher and she was pleasant and easy to understand.i don't know about the red marks everywhere and rude discriptions of her because i never seen any of that.total opposite
Also took her for englt360. She is awesome! Not easy but you will learn a lot and she is very helpful by email or in office hours. Loved her!
She is awesome :) Her essay prompts are really good and she's clear in what needs to be done. It's not the easiest class ever, but if you do your work and try hard on your essays, you're good to go :)
Sapra is a GREAT teacher! She gives out homeowrk but not alot. The hw is VERY easy and it helps your grade alot. Extremely EASY class if you follow the directions for the essay, attend class, and actually do your work. IMPROVES YOUR SKILLS AS A WRITER BY 100 PERCENT. If you have the chance to take her, do it. One of the best professors for sure!
Was a great teacher. You need to do the work though. Her lectures are awesome.
Overall pretty good, tough essay grader...I think she lets personal opinion effect essay grade. Other work very manageable.
Great english professor, defiantly knows what she's doing! Very organized and hands back essays in a timely manner. Gives easy homework that boosts your grade a ton. Grades fairly and always gives a ton of feedback so you can improve. went to her office hour and she always helped me with essays! Highly recommend!!!! Take her you will not regret it.
Sapra's class is hard if you are a bad writer. If you are okay than she will make you better. She doesn't push her political agenda like most English teachers do. Many of my essays disagreed with her and I did fine. As long as you can back up your argument, she won't dock points.
Sapra is very nice. I had to miss her class for a couple days she was not happy but helped me stay on track. Has you annotate text, no public speaking, and essays of course.
Sapra seems nice at first but she doesn't like to help her students and can't answer and question without going completely off subject. Take someone else if you need a lot of help and are not a natural writer.
Sapra is an excellent teacher who will make you a better writer. She offers many extra credit opportunities and is very willing to help you in any way possible. A good amount of reading is assigned. I always skimmed chapters at the very last minute, and got 100% on all reading quizzes. Take her class.
Professor Sapra is an incredible professor. She is super approachable and has the sweetest demeanor. If you are not serious about progress she will see that and you will be treated accordingly. I attended this class not knowing what to expect and ended up with one of the best! I really enjoyed this class! and yes, shes gorgeous, inside & out duhh!
Super friendly prof. Essays and some hw must be typed. There're very little quizzes and only 2 essay exams but they're super easy. Got an A on all. Hw is little and should only take you a few min. She goes over them and will answer questionsgive feedback only when you ask for it. Class is based on D2L for essay submission and EC opportunities.
Very political. If you are far left and ready to write essays about your beliefs (that match the professors) this is the class for you. Very tough grader on essays. If you need an A do not take her! Peers do reviews for each other, so you get very different and not so helpful feedback. The prof feedback only comes after essays are done.
was really worried about taking women in lit at beginning of semester, but LS showed me I could write great papers and analyze literature. always available to help at RWC, clear grading criteria and essay prompts, in class discussions of readings extremely helpful, you must go to class and you must have the books
Online class was pretty straight forward. She was already there to answer any questions, super nice about it all. She doesn't seem to knock you down for your political views if you have a good argument. 6 essays, they aren't too bad. One is 7 pages and worth 25% of your grade though. Make sure to stick to the prompt, she gives decent feedback.
Professor Sapra is an AMAZING teacher! She's passionate, engaging & this class was the best one I've taken while at FLC. Not only was she awesome, the students were as well. We all wanted to be there and it showed! I'm taking her again!
If you need credit for transferring don't take this class. She is very much into details. You can work hard on the long essays but if you miss a bit of the prompt you will get an F.
I have intentionally taken hertwice. She keeps focused on learning goals, she cares about her students, andteaches you everything you need to know to not only pass the class, but also to take with you when you leave. I would recommend her to anyone. The best thing about her is that she genuinely loves this subject, and her positivity is infectious.
Professor Sapra is a sweet, caring person. I took her hybrid class and she was always there for me through email and her office hours. She gives good feedback if you send her a rough draft of your essay and if you stick to her prompts--her class is an easy A. There's a total of 6 essays that are assigned and one of them is a research paper.
professor Sapra is one amazing teacher. She loves proactive people. Ask questions, show up to class, just try your best. She is not all about the perfect grammar but will mention it. I took her English comp 300 class and plan to take her online English 302 class. If you don't turn in your essays or come to class then you will not pass. love her
I have always done very well on my essays, and have received mostly A's and high B's, until this class. She is a hard grader and has given me low B's and C's, she provides some feedback but it doesn't equate to the letter grade i was given. Bottom line expect to have an excellent/perfect/flawless essay to receive a decent grade.
Professor Sapra is an excellent tutor that really cares about her student's success in English writing. She was always willing to help with editing errors and sentence structure for essays. Professor Sapra has a great personality and she was always willing to address and help fix errors with essays. I loved being in her English Lab 71 class.
Sapra is the best English teacher I have had in college. She clearly outlines her class from the first day and strictly follows it. Class discussions are inspiring and motivating. She really makes the space a welcoming environment to voice your opinion. Take her class and follow through on all of the assignments. It's worth it.
Class seemed more like a race/ethnicity class than it did ENGWR. If you don't agree with her views, then you're wrong. Essay prompts were ridiculous and it seemed like she had her own agenda.
Professor Sapra is a great teacher. I have taken ENGWR 300 and ENGWR 301 from her and both classes were good. In both classes I had to write four essays ranging between 4-6 pages. She is a tough grader though. I had weekly readings that you will end up having to write the essays on and take quizzes on, so you do need the textbooks.
Online English Writing, at first I was hesitant bc of reviews, but now that it's over I can say I had nothing to worry about. Put work in and you'll get the grade you deserve. She's an awesome grader and gives a ton of advice on what to do in order to succeed in her class! Definitely taking again.
Online Summer- The readings & the essays were not hard. What is hard is writing your own opinion. I got an A on my 1st essay because I wrote about my own education experience, but when I started to write my own opinion on the readings, she graded me Cs because she did not agree. Answers to my questions never made sense. I worked hard for my grade.
Took her full semester online ENG300 class - total of four essays ranging between 4-6 pages. She is a very tough grader, which is fine except her feedback is not as specific as I would hope for an online class, no comments or marks on the essay itself, just a paragraph of "feedback" under grades. Textbooks are required.
By far the worst professor I've ever took out of my 4 years in college. She's a harsh grader. Doesn't believe in opinions. Wants everything to relate to the textbook but doesn't have any work that reference back to it nor does she have a rubric for any of the essays. Kinda just winged the class because thats all you really can do.
If you agree with her opinions, you will do great in this class! If not, good luck! Just barely passed the class. I would suggest taking someone else.
Sapra is a very good professor, she gives solid feedback and plenty of opportunities to bring your grade up. There was one textbook which we used for half of the semester. 4 essays total and you can revise one of them for a better grade. Attendance is around 10% of the grade so you need to show up, but participation isn't very important.
Professor Sapra is a very well respected professor and Im so happy I had a chance to have her. She assigns four essays for the whole semester and gives very good concise feedback. If you go to class, participate in class discussions and write ALL essays, youll be sure to get a good grade!
I won't be taking this professor anymore. because she grades to hard. I have a learning disability and I have hard time with essays. She grades really harsh. Take someone else for English.
Worst teacher Ive ever had. Her essay rubrics are impossible to understand the main concept of, she grades you so harshly after she failed to give you a good idea of what you were writing about. Failed all my essays. She is awful. Do not take her. If you do be prepared to wing it, shes hard to please.
The worst Teacher I've had this semester! She failed every single of my essays and doesn't give you clear comments on what she wants you to do. She grades really harsh and she's really hard to please! Don't take her for English! You'll regret it later!
She would ding you for every single mistake. Student's success is not her business.
Professor Sapra is wonderful! She is a fair grader and gives constant feedback! She is caring and respectful. If you do the work, and follow directions properly, you can easily get a good grade. I would take her again in a heartbeat! Lots of writing, but what do you expect? Awesome teacher! I am not an English major, so this class was hard!
I had Professor Sapra in an online engwr 300 class. I see reviews saying that she grades harshly and failed a lot of essays. I am not the strongest writer, but I worked hard for my grade. My advice is to show initiation go see her in the reading writing center and she would love that! Also, read her directions carefully the rubrics are important.
She assigns work constantly but it is all the same so you know what to expect. She gives a lot of feedback, even on DBQs which is nice, but sometimes is very vague. She is always available to the students and seems to care about them.
While there is quite a bit of reading and a significant amount of writing involved, it's a writing and critical thinking class! That should be expected. As long as you understand basic essay structure and answer all aspects of the prompts, you can easily get a B or higher. Also, the required text is an *excellent* writing resource.
Professor Sapra's classes involve a lot of writing so be prepared. Although, she gives extensive and very helpful feedback on all essays and gives you a chance to revise an essay that you didn't do well on. Just make sure to read all her corrections and work on fixing them in your future essays.
Professor Sapta is a great professor. She's a good grader. While the class has a LOT of work, the assignments she gives are pertinent (little to no busy work) and very helpful when you start working on your essays. Her essay instructions clearly outline what she wants to see in your work. The readings assigned were very informative.
You will be a better writer but the course materials (book and readings) aim to brainwash you. If your politics and opinions are different than hers, you are screwed. You either have to pretend your opinions aligned with her to get a good grade or be prepared to get an F.
honestly just make sure you read through the essay requirements because I made some wrong assumptions with the third essay and had to revise it, love her though
After you take a handful of classes, you start to see what is exceptional and what needs improvement. Professor Sapra is above Exceptional. Great communicator, everything you need to be successful in this class is provided in an organized way and delivered with a smile. Tons of feed back and encouragement.
Really rude. Gives no rubric so she kinda just takes off points for what she feels like. Really belittles you when you have a question and pawns you off to the TA when she doesn't feel like talking to ya. Avoid at all costs. I've never gotten this bad of a grade in a writing class and I'm an active writer and journalist.
Rubric is unclear, tough grader in Essays. Impossible to meet her criteria. Good Luck.
Here's the thing: she can give you 100% on "Notetakers" and and yet, when it comes to essays don't expect to pass it. She accused me of plagiarism even though I got a 100% on my Notetakers. Hypocritical. Now here I am, about to fail the semester all because the essay I got accused of plagiarism, when it wasn't a problem before. Don't take the class
Professor Sapra is such a great teacher, giving great feedback and providing constructive criticism that really makes you grow as a writer. Her assignments and the way she grades them are crystal clear. Thanks Professor Sapra!!
Her feedback on essays was limited, the discussion boards had very specific requirements to meet, and she can be a tough grader. The material was frequently copied, pasted, and lengthy, and the homemade videos were hard to listen to. I would highly recommend taking this class after you've had a little college experience.
Sapra was a good teacher, in the way that she gave her students a lot of information (this was an online course) and she gave a lot of detail, but it made the homework and Essays extremely heavy and detail specific. I personally did this course in highschool and found it very difficult, and also very demanding.
Would not recommend her to anyone , will give you 100% on your note takers then fail you on your essays . Very heavy reading and does not try and communicate with you . Save yourself and pick another professor
If you're looking for a good English teacher, avoid this one. She may seem good at first, but once the good reviews suck you in, you'll wish you hadn't enrolled. She gives a ridiculous amount of work, not considering that we have other classes/outside lives. She asks far too much from us and only gives so much time.
I've seen a couple of posts saying that if your opinions don't align with hers, your grade will suffer. I just found out how true that was when she graded my essay. She left rude comments on my essay, especially on the parts she didn't believe in. Avoid her at all costs.
Professor Sapra is an amazing teacher. I enjoyed her class and I felt that she has great communication with her students and offers amazing help. She is one of the best English teachers I have ever had. Highly recommend you take her if you want to excel in English while not feeling overloaded with work.
Very constructive advice on essays, gives announcements every week, offers extra credit As with other reviews, she does give 100% on notetakers with no suggestions for improvement, which made my first couple of essays hard to get a good grade. Revise them If you struggle with english, take her, it will be hard to begin but you'll learn so much.
Tough grader. Gives full credit on weekly modules but then takes off so many points on essays making it difficult to understand what she really wants. Recommend taking a different professor especially if you are not a english person.
Loved Professor Sapra! She was very kind, helpful, and caring. Always gave good feedback and was supportive. ENGWR 301 course was not very difficult, but a good amount of work every week. Total of 4 essays and weekly reading/writing assignments. Only read one book and it was actually enjoyable! Had office hours and tutor. Would recommend!
I wouldn't take her she never gives full credit, when you email her about what you can do better, she won't ever get back to you.I turned in the wrong assignment for the essay. She gave me a zero after I resubmitted the right assignments, Meaning I will not get full credit. Her grading criteria is unclear . Save your time and take another teacher
Professor Sapra is amazing! She genuinely cares about her students and their success. I was always given thorough and clear feedback, and I really enjoyed the themes of the papers. In my experience, her criticism was honest and not tough all. I loved being in her class.
Professor Sapra is a good teacher. She teaches you as if her students where her kids. Took both her 480 & 482 honors courses and she expects you to be on top of your A game. It might be challenging and daunting at first but she is really good at teaching you how to write. Her feedback is straight up and she guides your hand step by step in class.
My experience has been less than ideal. Be aware that she'll take points away if your personal believes don't align with hers and her corse material is quite political. Just stay away from her if you actually care about your education.
Sapra was an amazing professor. She gives incredible feedback, and if you have further questions or need for clarification she is quick to get back to you. Her course is engaging and class participation makes it incredibly easy to grasp the topics. Sapra is also very understanding on a personal level and offers support as much as she can.
Appears nice at first but is very sassy and rude when you make one small mistake
Make sure to show up. Personally I felt like she was an easy grader and all her work is straight forward. If your struggling with a paper show up to embedded tutoring bec
very caring professor, treats students like her kids (in a good way). reasonable workload, but can feel like a lot if you procrastinate on essays and cram last second. can be quite a bit of reading towards the end, but manageable. definitely progressive political views, and you may have a harder time if you express disagreements.
Not too much reading or busy work, everything had a purpose. Make sure you do your notetakers and put in the effort because it'll help out in the essay portions. I got an A easily but she offers essay revisions and extra credit if you need it. I would definitely recommend her for beginning at FLC.
Her classes are engaging! I was genuinely excited to go to her class and hear her speak. She is a very fair grader. Go to her office hours and use your student tutor for the class to achieve the best grades. Homework is very light. For my class, there are four essays, five pages minimum. The essays are spread out nicely. I recommend!
