Overall this was a fun class. If you're looking for an enjoyble class to help boost your GPA this is it. I wonder if BUSE 155 will be as fun.

She is so awesome! I learned so much in class. She explains things very well and she does a lot of group work to help you learn from others. I learned a lot of helpful techniques to use in the future. Take her class its worth it. She is not boring!!!:o)

Mesa is lucky to have her, I real teacher! There's a lot of class participation but it is a communications clas. She's VERY clear about what she's asking for in homework so you'll be confident turning it in. First GE I've had that I remember after the class and use in the office. Others who've had her before said she's great in all her classes.

great teacher! for a lecture class, made class really interesting. projects were easy and fun while still helping you learn and understand. DON'T BUY THE BOOK! save your money. all her quizes are based off her lectures. i didn't even open my book once.

Professor Shapiro is a Great teacher. She is firm and to the point, but in a good way. She will always take the time to help students NO MATTER WHAT(You can tell she's from the East coast). The class is revolved around 6 different project some more challenging then others. And don't get caught using your cell. Overall, she tight TAKE HER!

3 projects, 9 quizzes, and no exams. The projects are graded very easily by her. But some of the quizzes are pop quizzes. You don't need the textbook. She has pppt which is very organized. Highly recommended!!

Awesome professor. She changed the course of my business and now I am making it reality. She told us that it was better to make mistakes in the classroom than out there. It was very informative and down to practice. Strict on attendance but there?s a good reason to it. Small Business Management, take it!!!!

Awesome class. Prof. Shapiro was an easy grader. Only projects. No exams or quizzes. Final = Presentation. Very easy to communicate with after class. Looks intimidating at first, but she likes to joke around & includes everyday news. Attendance is MANDATORY. 2 missed class days = DROP. Take this class!

She is wonderful, every class she lectures but the topics are interesting and enjoyable. No hw or tests, just 1 presentation the entire semester. Strict on attendance but thats not a big deal. Great!!!

The utmost professional professor I have ever known!She's all business, but she keeps it business casual. She teaches you everything that you need to know to be successful in the business world. Awesome teacher. Im taking 2 More business classes with her this semester because she was soo awesome. She's really cares about having her students understand what she's teaching. If u ask a question ,she will take the time to explain it to u soo u will understand. Easy grader,she gives clues onto what will be on test soo show up for lectures.

She is amazing! She focuses less on flooding you with useless work and actually teaches you very valuable info that you will take with you through life and in to your career. Grade consists of 4 projects, 12 writing assignments and no tests. You will get an easy A just be sure to attend class, participate, keep your phone away and be respectful!

Awesome Professor!!! I loved her lectures...didn't miss one! Easy online quiz assignments, two group projects or you can do on your own, and one individual project. Pop quizzes...so attendance is a must. Overall I learned a lot from her, very business oriented. I would highly recommend her class. :)

GROUP PROJECTS. Pick a group in the beginning of the course, or work alone, and do 3 projects on the same topic leading up to a final presentation in the end of the semester. Online homework is SUPER easy. NO tests! She's big on tardiesabsentsphones in class. Marks you absent if she sees your phone out. Drops you if you have a lot of absences.

I took this class because i had no idea what i wanted to do since i just graduated high school. I do not regret taking this class though. She was fun and totally understanding. 2 group projects and all the quizzes are online and very few pop quizzes. My favorite class by far and will be taking another one of her classes this semester!awesome teach!

Cool teacher. Better show up or you won't pass, she's strict about it. Won't let you out early, once or twice we got lucky. Participation is important. Homework is not so hard, as long as she sees you getting better shell give you a good grade, final project is important, don't mess up.

Great teacher. Has greatfun lectures. No tests, only quizzes and online homework. Fun easy projects too. Easy A. Advice: You have to come to class or else she takes points off. Don't use your phone, she doesn't like that. And don't come late... she always does quizzes at the beginning of class. Do all of the homework (it's online).

I took two classes with Shapiro at Mesa and she was fantastic! What a knowledgeable and yet humble professor. she really makes you think like a businessmanwoman. She doesn;t try to get you to memorize anything; she tries to teach you how to think. I go to USC now and I wish she would taught here. Show up and be polite. put your phone away!

Great Teacher. Love her narratively explained lectures along with a lot of good examples. Clear on assignments, i always knew wHAT DOES she want exactly. Helpful. Home work very easy (online) 4 projects. Group work. Fun!

I really appreciate this professor. Very knowledgable and intelligent. Good sense of humor. Talks about relevant, real world stuff and teaches useful skills. No exams, easy online homework, expect group projects.

This professor is usually clear in communicating what she wants on assignments. She grades hard on the final report, a lot of people got low C's. She forces students to discuss a lot of hot button topics. Some of her comments are abrasive, and even obscene. Overall she is not bad. I was misled by the other five star reviews into taking this class.

Easy class as long as you show up and make an effort. Do not go on your phone during class because she will hate you. A couple big assignments but they are not difficult.

Professor Shapiro was an amazing professor. She made the class very interesting and fun with all the different topics of conversation. There were two presentations and some online homework assignments due weekly but it very very easy to accomplish. I would definitely take this class again. Easy A if you show up to her class very consistently.

Group Projects and attendance are everything in this class, sure there is online HW but its pretty easy. Make sure from day one you start scouting out your classmates for good team members as they are the key to an easy A.

Such an amazing human! Professor Shapiro is so knowledgeable on the business world. Her BUSINESS 119 class has ZERO TEST and QUIZZES, EASY online homework which can be completed in literally 1 day, & 4 presentations which you will learn so much from. I really wish she taught econ and accounting. I'm going to miss her class.

I love Prof Shapiro! Her class is easy, just show up to class and do a few group projects. She's super badass, she's published a lot of books and is clear-cut about what she expects from you. She's also very, very nice and helpful! Take her course, you won't regret it :)

I can say that this is the first class that I've taken where I've learned real life skills. Prof. Shapiro has such a great way of teaching that is unique and extremely knowledgeable about standing out in the business world. All you have to do is care and you should be able to get an A!

I had professor Shapiro for BUSE100 and BUSE119 and loved both classes. I learned more in both of those classes than the rest of my other business classes by far. Would reccomend

Easy A Teacher if you show up to every class and do you assignments. Your grade is calculated by online homework (28%), group projects (26%), Individual project (20%), and pop quizzes (26%). She's a very lenient grader on the projects and all the online homework can be completed in a day. She also takes off points if you don't show up to class.

Shaprio is literally one of the greatest teachers at Mesa. She's highly educated and really gets to know each of her students. She allows you to miss a class but you get deducted points. The lectures are relatable and really gets you thinking. Be sure to do the online homework. It's super easy so sometimes it can be forgotten.

By far one of the best professors I've taken. She is very understanding and willing to individually work with each student to ensure their success. Super knowledgeable about the business world and lectures are relevant and interesting. I had to be out of class for two weeks and she worked about that. So kind and caring. Take her!

Shapiro's business communication class has easily been one of my most favorite classes I've taken at Mesa. She grades a handful of projects throughout the course, some individual and some group work. Her lectures are thoughtful, precise, and interesting-- she always forms good class discussion. Follow her guidelines and you will get an A.

I took her for Business Communications, one of the easiest classes I've taken. You have online homework, but it's all simulations or short videos on MyBCommsLab. She has no quizzes, test, or exams. Only lectures every class, and she has about 4 projects. 2 group projects, and 2 individual projects. SHOW UP! She says uhm a lot too.

Awesome teacher and easy A if you put in the effort. There was a group project but it was by far the most fun group project I've ever had. Professor Shapiro made this class fun to come to!

Go to classes, for she tells you exactly what is going to be on the "pop" quiz. Do not use your phones. There are couple papers you have to write but it is clear and business-related. She is open and willing to help during office hours. Fun and interesting lectures - connects recent social issues and events to business and discusses.

She is a really good professor that knows her stuff, very lenient with grading, show up to class if you don't you will lose points and don't use your phone in class, the online homework was easy.

I enjoyed our business communication class. Lots of group projects but they are fun and a great way to help with presenting to the class. I would take her class again!

Pretty easy class if you do the homework and participate in the discussion boards. Took it during summer 2019. Gives good feedback. There is no exams, just a few projects and a written report that is due towards the end of the semester. Great professor!

She has a good knowledge about the business and answers all questions. very serious on pop quizzes!

I took prof Shapiro's 8 week online course. Her projects/writing assignments were fun to do; her instructions for them could be a little bit more specific, but nonetheless, easy to follow. Have fun with it and get creative! The homework was easy and manageable as well (keep highest score).

I took her Business Communications course online during Intersession, and I really enjoyed working with her. She's a tough grader, but if you put in the work, go the extra mile, and respect deadlines, you'll do well. I learned SO MUCH from her class in such a short amount of time and I'm so grateful I got to work with her!

Took this class online for an 8 week session and I am so glad I did. She is an easy grader, you have assignments due at the end of every week. No book. As long as you turn everything in on time you should be fine. Take her, you will not regret it! I loved this class.

I deeply appreciated what I have learned in Business Communications class. The assignments are so logically connected and practical. The text book is helpful. Professor Shapiro was very professional and efficient. You have the option to get ahead if you want. She always had clear instructions for projects. Be prepared to get creative and showcase your self in electronic format. A very nice grader as I got 100% on basically everything I submitted. I recommend taking this class.

I loved learning from Prof. Shapiro. She doesn't allow technology to be used in her classes (phones and laptops) The content of the class was easy and interesting to learn with her. She's honestly hilarious and a joy to be around. One group project at the end, and grades fairly.

This is a super easy class to do online, and Lisa is very understanding. I had some trouble with the course and emailed her on a few different occasions, and she's (surprise) a very good communicator. All you need to do is the textbook questions, some resume building, and questionnaire creation. A good class to balance out schedules with.

I enjoyed my time with Professor Shapiro. She was very laid back, instructions for assignments were clear, and you really felt like the projects you were doing had meaning. I would definitely take her again. Prepare for 8-10 small reading quizzes after each chapter, and 5-6 assignments that cover various business communication subjects. No tests.

The instructions she gives are sometimes unclear and she also doesn't provide examples which made it hard to do projects. The textbook readings aren't hard. Generally just follow her rubrics and ur projects should be fine. She does answer clarifying questions and offers good resources for more detail

I took this class over intersession and she was very helpful describing all of the assignments clearly. She also responded to my emails very quickly. Take her class!

She does a few projects throughout the semester along with biweekly Cengage assignments. I thought the written projects (which are the most weighted) were pretty informative yet a bit challenging. Not a super challenging class, but she definitely expects to see you put in some real effort.

Professor cares for her students, she gives great lectures and enough time to work on projects. She truly inspires her students , very proud of her success. She is professional and a great educator. 10/10 recommended!!

Great Professor! Always helped me out when I had questions. The workload is very manageable as well since she gives more than enough time to complete assignments.

Online course is easy, grades nicely and gives out a light amount of homework

It was a fairly easy class, but beware you will have to buy the textbook with homework access code ($100+). Additionally, for all of the assignments she expects us learn how to do them based off the textbook. There's not really any teaching involved given that the textbook is the only resource given. But still pretty easy.

One of the best professors, I have ever had. I have learnt a lot from the assignments, and I think her assignments are very practical for the job searching in reality. Thank you so much professor Lisa Shapiro!!!

Mainly projects and quizzes however if you manage your time and put in the effort you will get a good grade. If you lose points on anything professor Shapiro will give clear and helpful feedback on what to improve. I WOULD take any classes of hers again.

Took Professor Shapiro for Fall of 2024 online. The class was easy enough to get through. You use Cengage for chapter assignments and all other assignments were reports. Sometimes her instructions can be a bit confusing but she does respond timely to answer any questions. Be detailed on your reports and you'll get high marks. 9.5/10 for me.

I took BUSE 100 with her last semester and loved it, so I'm taking BUSE 119 with her now. She's engaging, explains concepts clearly, and offers helpful feedback I've applied in real life. She's responsive and even reviews assignments early for improvement. One of the most supportive and caring instructors I've had. Highly recommend!

This class was a lot of projects, but it was super fun. She will respond to your emails on time, and will give great feedback. You will have to get creative, and there are no examples, but just give it your best shot, and you will succeed in this class, trust me.

I had her years ago, in a literature/writing class. Lisa is hands down one of the most inspirational people I have ever met. She puts in the effort for her class. Lisa is a very passionate instructor, and her mind is very analytical. If you did not achieve an A, you simply did not put in the effort.
