Shuchter is hard to rate because yes she is helpful and kind. But no, she doesn't teach you anything. She gives out A's to everbody so you think you writre good. Then you get to another course and you find out you never learned a thing and you're essay

I had Dr. S. for comp, lit, tech wtg and communications. She is the smartest, most beautiful teacher at NVCC. She showed me how to write essays and use WebCT vista. She helps you with papers from other classes too. We gave team speeches, which was the most fun I ever had in class. She makes you feel like she has all the time in the world for you.

She's a very nice person. She's very helpful, and she's really cool. She gets along with her students, and they seem to like her very much. She's also HOT!!! One of the best teacher's I've ever had, and also one of my favorite.

Very nice and helpful will make sure you do good in the class if you show some interest. Lets you hand in papers late and only takes 10 points off no matter how late. Easy class room assignments as long as you read the stories shes gives.

Dr. Shucter would be a better teacher if she wouldn't let so many of her students get away with things during class...computer games etc. She also needs to find a way to make this class more interesting. We spend most of our nights doing research...something I could have done from home!

I had Lisa around 1996. She is hot and very exysae. It wasn't that she was easy, it was that she kept things simple.Composition doesn't have to be egocentric and hard. It just needs to be well spoken and easy to understand by your reader. You can also get rid of acccess words. I'm at Central now composing "A" research reports based on her teaching.

Great teacher. I got a promotion based on the proposal research report I wrote in her class. She also showed us how to write eResumes, and two guys in my team actualy got jobs. One guy in another team got his report published in the Watertown newspaper. This was the most practical course I’ve taken at this college.

I did my work, and I went to class (sometimes) and I got an 'A'. A fellow classmate did NOT do any of his papers (3 of them), and he very rarely went to class and pulled off a 'B'. Take what you want from it, if you want to learn she's an excellent teacher. If you don't want to learn, that's OK too, you'll probably still walk out with a 'B'.

I would take her again; however, some people didn't do a damn thing and they still got a B. I got an A but I feel somewhat cheated because I did all my papers and went to most of the classes and someone that doesn't do any papers still gets a B? I like you Lisa, but when are you going to draw the line with your ease?

I took an on-line course with her over the summer. It was a great experience. We had weekly reading to do and just had to do class discussion on what we read. Attendance is important and participation too. Great teaching skills.. I loved her class. I recommend her and plan to take future classes with her.

What an awesome teacher. Easiest english class i ever took in my life! Be prepared to read every night and you have 3 papers to write throughout the year. You hand them in by sending them through blackboard, which is excellent because it isn't due until 12 that night. Very nice and willing to help you with your writing skills.

OMG Lisa is an amazing teacher. I took her class online over the summer so it was very compact. She expects 3 posts per week and 4 papers but she makes it so easy. ENG 101-easiest A! read a few short stories,got into groups to answers questions in class. wrote 3 papers(reflection,evaluation, persuasive) she will help you find a topic and give you plenty of time to work on these in class. no midterm, final was open book/notebook.u get graded on class participation. I love Lisa! I have struggled with English as a subject since primary school, and have never enjoyed writing; Lisa changed that. She is far too forgiving in her grading, but that is far overshadowed by her kindness and desire to see each student give their best. I had her for both ENG101 and 102 and got A's in both. Take her at any chance you get!

Her English102 course is amazing! I couldn't have learned literature and poetry better without Prof. Shuchter. She is a great professor who makes students feel comfortable around the classroom environment. She is flexible with students and wants everyone to pass her class. I would also recommend taking her 101 and 200 as well.

Always willing to help you. Always available anytime of the day and night too. Two papers and two test. Class discussion with groups or class.

If English isn't your strong suit, TAKE LISA'S CLASS! She is super thorough and takes her time to really help you understand the work. She is probably the best teacher on campus. Her midterms and finals are the easiest as she WANTS her students to excel in her class. Two papers! That's it! She is incredible and it's impossible to fail!

INCREDIBLE professor!! I have her for English Literature and Composition (ENG102) and I take her class online. She is very kind and even was willing to give phone calls to her students to introduce herself at the beginning of the semester! As long as you participate you will pass with an excellent grade! English isn't my best but her class is easy!

Lisa was amazing. I took this class online and I loved every part of it. I read a few poems and articles each week and then we had discussions about them. There were 2 essays throughout the semester. The midterm and final she let us have 3 tries at. This class was amazing and I'm not even into literature, I'm a business major.

One of the best professors I've ever had for an english class. Weekly discussions are pretty much all you're responsible for in this class other than 2 papers throughout the year and a midterm and final which you have three chances to take. Overall she is an awesome professor and person, very caring and happy to help to get you that A.

Hands down the best professor at NVCC. She makes class very fun and engaging. She's always available outside of class to talk to if you need help with your essays. Also gives great feedback on them too before you fully submit them to her. I would take her again if I had to!

She is my favorite professor I've had throughout my time here. You can tell she truly cares about every student and their success. You really have to try hard to not get an A in her class. Taking her again this semester for another online English class and I'm very happy about it!

AMAZING professor!!! Prof. Shuchter is supportive, encouraging, and attentive to her students. Grades work super fast. Her class is a piece of cake. If you want an A, take her class. I'm not great in English, but I got an A. Her online class had weekly discussions and 2 papers. Easy peasy! Can't say enough good about her. Love her!

She is one of the best professor I have ever had. she is a very caring professor if you are sick and not able to do the assignment, you can ask for an extension. her goal is to help students to succeed.

She's the sweetest!! Her work isn't crazy hard and she gives many chances. She's very caring and considerate of others. If english is challenging for you, I really recommend her. In general she is just the sweetest thing.

Professor Shuchter is wonderful! Even though people say the class is easy, she has a great way of generating discussions on interesting/controversial topics. This is important in the writing process. She gives great feedback and is VERY timely in grading and email response. Students who struggle or don't like English should consider her class.

I've always done very well in English classes, and Prof. Shuchter sent the experience through the roof. She puts effort into making sure everyone understands what they're doing, is forgiving about late work, and even got me to ENJOY discussion boards. She's highly supportive of LGBT+ students too, and did her best with nonbinary he/they pronouns.

Extremely accessible and will do anything to accommodate you help you be successful in her class. If you struggle with writing this professor will definitely help you!

Professor Shuchter is an incredible instructor, she's always willing to help you succeed, she's caring and fun to learn through, she accommodates everyone as best as she can and keeps teaching simple which helps many students out of all different skill levels. Take her! She's an amazing professor. She gives great feedback on papers and gives you more than enough time to complete assignments. She responds quick to emails and thorough with explanations. No textbook required which is nice! If you do the work, it will be an easy A!

She is truly one of the best professors. I really loved learning and reading the material she assigned us. Professor Schuchter is very knowledgeable. Make sure to participate in class and do the work and you'll do well. I would take her again for sure! very helpful and gives extra credit which helps a lot. She gets a 10/10.

I took this course over the winter I was nervous about taking the class because of how fast paste it went. Luckily taking this class with professor shuchter she made all work assignments simple to understand, extra credit, and she is always available for help. I would highly recommend her to be your future teacher. FYI the finial was easy.

Professor Shuchter was the best professor I ever had in college. The syllabus was very understandable and easy to read. She excepted late work with no penalty and gave amazing feedback on every assignment that was turned in. Including homework. She was always available for extra help. 100% recommend taking her class.

Lisa is a wonderful professor who genuinely wants her students to succeed. This was a very easy class for me. Assignments consist of reading, making Blackboard discussion posts, and writing a few essays. Lisa is responsive to email and, if you ask her, will critique your work before you submit it for grading.

Lisa is very kind and this is a relatively easy course. 3 discussion posts each week based off of some fictional works, and only 2 essays for the whole semester. Midterm and final were just multiple-choice tests on Blackboard, and she gives extra credit too. There is a schedule, but you can do all of the work up until the end of the semester.

Professor Shuchter makes this class a breeze. With her helpful feedback and easy assignments, even struggling writers can ace this course. unstuckstudy was a game-changer for my essay prep.

She was such an amazing teacher. She gave out her phone number & had open hours to meet with her if you needed help, even in the middle of the night. She left amazing feedback on every assignment and was so nice. I took her classes twice & was looking to take a third class with her when I found out she passed away. She was such an amazing person
