I had her for Social Problems and she was awesome. She's not boring at all and she's very personable. If you need help or anything she's always there to help you! Very awesome teacher, I'd take another one of her classes.

I took Intro to Anthropology online. It was pretty easy, read the chapters, do the ch. objectives, take a quiz and then a test. Plus two discussion postings. Just do your work and get it in on time. I emailed her and got a prompt answer, other than that I didn't really need any help. She was a little slow at grading, not too bad

Took her online and it was a little challenging. Just have to read the chapters which i didnt do but still came out with an A. I enjoyed writing about the topics she chose. Only 6 200 word essays (which are a breeze) and 6 50 word responses and 6 tests. Really pretty easy. I enjoyed it.

She's a great professor. This semester, instead of quizzes for every chapter she made it into Unit tests for every two. So we as a class, had to read to two chapter but we got to discuss various subjects on hand. So take her and you'll pass!

i took this course online and HATED IT! there are five unit tests and they are extremely tough and detailed! her discussions and papers are easy. please please do not take this course online or any other course online. they are tough! I made a 96 in BSC1093 but a C+ in SYG?! STAY AWAY FROM ONLINE CLASSES

I had taken sociology before at another school. I hated it so much that I hardly went to class. Mrs. Sim's made this topic fun. Lots of classroom discussion and lots of information. Sociology is truly a class that you have to take in person. I recommend Mrs. Sims to anyone needing to take Soci. or Anthro. Just make sure to participate, its more fun

Wonderful person! However, I studied and tried in class and could only pull a B. She really tries to make the test understandable but some times I just couldn't understand some things. That is very unusual for me I had a 3.92 before this and nutrition dropped it to a 3.86 =( even though I didn't make an A I would still take her in the future.

Sweet teacher/fun class! Take notes of EVERYTHING she says, do your writing assignments, turn in your notes on test days for ex. pts. do end of the chapter ?'s, don't miss a class (when I did, I made a B on a test when I usually made A's). Don't rush through the tests...so many people did and had problems. Think them through and you'll do GREAT!

I am taking this class online. I am an "A" student, and I work hard to be as such. This class online is INSANE! ONLY take this class online if you are looking for a good challenge, or just have extra time on your hands. If I had this to do over again, I would be in a classroom setting. Mrs. Sims is very nice and fair. My only realy complaint was her essay grading. I get great grades on papers in english, but she could never give me anything but a C on my essays and I have asked her what I could do and tried to apply it, but nothing changed. So, she grade essays pretty harshly. Her tests are pretty hard, so I really had to study.

Very discussion-based class, so if you just want to listen to a teacher, this is not the class for you. She is very good at tying discussion back to the topic, however, and teaching in a clear way.

This was my first online class. Mrs. Sims was very organized and gave us a clear syllabus. One paper, 5 units, and she gave out extra credit. Each unit had a test, two quizzes, and a webography. If you stay on top of it, the class is super easy. I would recommend :)

Great teacher! She had everything structured very well. The Final Exam came straight from the 10 question quizzes after each chapter. Lots of extra credit. You do have to read the chapters but overall easy.

Easy Class. Requires a little bit of writing but it is graded very leniently. Had to read the textbook to do well on the tests.

She provides you with class notes that are amazingly helpful for tests. As long as you pay attention during her lecture, plug everything in where it needs to go, and then study that for the test you will do fine. Homework assignments are very easy to handle. She makes the class enjoyable and talks about her own life as it relates to the lecture!

Tests were sometimes tough. The questions can range from basic definitions to long scenarios related to the concepts in the book. You have to read the chapters to do well and questions can come from the smallest details in the chapters. No research papers just weekly web articles you find on the topic for discussions and then respond to classmates.

Her class is easy except for her test. You have to read and study the vocab and even then her test are hard. Her other homework is easy and is an easy grader on it. Mrs. Sims is a great professor. She makes it very hard to NOT do well. At first this class will feel like you are a freshman in high school. ENJOY IT. It is very structured and she hols your hand through the whole course. She allows you to use a notecard on every test. Take advantage of this. Very sweet woman, scatterbrained, kind of motherly.

I took her online Sociology class and got an A+. This was probably my easiest online class I ever taken. I originally signed up for this class on campus with a different instructor but I'm so glad I switched to online with her! You will write a few short essays but they were easy and I got full credit on all of them. Take her online class! Easy A

I had to drop her class the first time around in the first week due to medical issues, came back the next semester and she remembered me! She is really one of the kindest, sweetest professors I've had at PSC, she made the class really fun and easy to understand, she really aims to keep your attention, and I love that she allows for class input!

Even online, (non-synchronous) Sims is excellent at teaching and being receptive. She is actually interested in your life, and shows it. Instead of bashing due dates on you, she encourages gaining insight from the assignments. It isn't about the work, more so about what you learn, which is how it should be. Love her! Mrs. Sims is the sweetest lady ever! She tells you straight up you don't need the text book. The homework is super easy there are only 3 home work assignments and 3 papers. The papers are 500 words and the homework is 250. Her lectures are super interesting and she tells super interesting stories. If you pay attention tests are easy as well.

Prof. Sims is a great teacher. Be prepared to write. Doesn't use the book, uses PowerPoints instead. Applies lessons to life. She wants the best for all of her students.

Mrs. Sims is an absolute gem. She's one of the sweetest people I've ever met and that reflects so much in her class. She's very engaging, so her classes are never dull. Her class is also super easy. Tests are open notes and writing assignments are very short. Unfortunately, she is retiring this semester :( It was great having her, I love her.
