What a fabulous teacher. She really cares about her students who are there in class, yet is not a stickler about missing class. She is very helpful and does not count off for attendance. Assignments are easy if you listen in class, which she makes very interesting. GREAT teacher!!

Best psychology teacher there is. She not only answers questions about assignments but is also very easy to talk to about other stuff and very approachable. Made osychology an even more interesting subject and made it fun.

She was fair. The quizzes were all online, which was great. There were assignments, which could help the grade. Only one test but from all semester.

If you ever have to take a Psychology class, make sure you have Professor Stoner. She is the best teacher I've ever had, and I learned a LOT about the subject matter and found out that I was much more interested in it than I thought I was. Stoner is an excellent teacher who is very helpful and grades quite easily.

I took Mrs. Stoner at SCC for 2 different classes and I would easily take her again! She was extremely kind and made every class interesting!! I would HIGHLY suggest taking her for any Psychology class at SCC. She definitely has experience in the field that she's teaching...overall great professor!

I took Lisa Stoner's Intro to Psych class years ago...she is the reasont that I continued on and now have my Degree in Psychology. She is amazing, and I am actually going to take class from her again just because...even though I'm done with school!

I took Adolescent Psych online w/Ms. Stoner. Alot of writing, but it was never difficult. She knows her material and is quite helpful. I was apprehesive about taking an online course, but she took away doubts I had. Would so take her for any Psych class! She's an awesome instructor who cares about her students and the material presented.

AMAZING teacher! All this class consists of is her telling you funny story's about her past profession. She lays out the course work in an organized and timely matter. Although the only days you must attend are test days, I try to catch her class just because she makes it so interesting. She is very down to earth, helpful, and brings life to SCC.

I took this class online, so I was having to teach myself, but she is still so willing to help and answer questions. She is a really involved teacher, which is nice. As long as you participate in the discussion posts and do the work, this class is pretty easy. I liked that I could work at my own pace, as she gives all due dates at the beginning.

Dr. Lisa Stoner is an EXCELLENT Instructor. She is very upbeat and treats ALL students FAIR!! She made PSY 101 very interesting.Her stories were hilarious and interesting! I encourage all students to take at least 1 PSY class from her. She exemplifies an EXCELLENT attitude and DEFINITELY a Role Model and Mentor for ALL students, faculty, and staff.

Mrs Stoner is a really great teacher. If your taking Psychology she is a great choice. She is very funny and really knows what she is talking about. She does both online classes and lectures.

I love this class, i love going to it. Her class is the reason I am a Psy Major. You can go at your own pace. Everything she teaches has a real life example, so its easy to memorize. And she is really funny!

Professor Stoner's lectures were very interesting, and she always provided plenty of examples to make the concepts very easy to understand. The homework is due in two large chunks, at midterms and finals, so if you don't work at it throughout the semester, you'll have screwed yourself over a bit and have a lot of last minute work to do.

Lisa Stoner is not only an awesome teacher, but a great person. She makes everything easier to understand, and is helpful. The class is mostly easy, but you MUST read the chapters prior to the pretests. Those will get you in trouble. I highly recommend her! Best teacher I've had yet.

She was an awesome teacher her lectures were so funny and interesting. I really enjoyed going to class. She gives opportunities for extra credit. The test are not to hard if you use your study guides. Attendance and reading the chapters before pre test is a must. I highly recommend Professor Stoner!

I LOVED HER! She was super funny and her lectures were always interesting! I was always looking forward to coming into her class. People have the option of either taking the test or doing a project over anything in the chapter. Requires you to read the book and pay attention during lectures. She is ALWAYS willing to help students! Easy A!

If you study the print out notes( on moodle) you should get an easy A. I highly recommend her to anyone. I wish I could take her again, but she only teaches 101.

took this class 2 years ago, after saying that i have 100% confidence that she is THE BEST TEACHER at scc. her helpfulness and caring for her students goes beyond the call of faculty and approaches a nearly co-equal status. she shows what few humans can, a genuine hope for your success. you can tell from day one that she truly loves her job.

I had her a year ago and I absolutely loved her. She knows her stuff and has some of the most hilarious stories. Just make sure you read the chapters to prepare for the pre-tests, and pay attention in class, and this will be an easy A.

Seriously such a great teacher! If you need a psychology class, take her! She was so much fun and knew so much about psychology by how much experience she has had. At first, I wasn't into taking the class but she made me completely change the direction of my career because the stuff she taught was so interesting.

She is an amazing teacher. She makes things easy to remember by telling stories, and is happy to talk about a related subject that interests you. There are 4 tests, and 4 one and a half page papers though out the semester. Overall this will be one of the easiest classes you will take.

Right now I am a Junior in college, I attend MSU right not but I spent my first two years at SCC and she is still by far my favorite professor. You have to work in the class, but it's not as hard as some others. Just keep up and you'll be fine. She is funny, helpful, responds fast to email, and is just wonderful. Take the class with her!

Great teacher! Works to help students pass as long as student works. Has many stories that relate to the class. Very knowledgeable and always was ready to go with an answer to questions. Will definitely recommend to others!!!

Tests are take home (3). There are four 1.5 page papers, and some online homework. Lots of extra credit opportunity. You should have an A before the final, and not have to take it. VERY EASY CLASS.

Stoner really tempted me to go into the psyc field of study because she made her class so interesting. She uses real life stories to explain everything. There is a ton of extra credit and tests are take home I got 105% without doing much at all.

BEST TEACHER AT SCC.

Professor Stoner is one of my favorite professors at SCC. Very laid back, extremely kind, very, very, funny and her lectures were always hilarious while being immensely interesting and very much so relating to the information being taught. Whenever I had questions I would often email her, and she always responded quickly with helpful information.

The class was pretty easy. You must show up otherwise you will miss group assignments but the work is easy. There were only 4 tests given out and they are all take home tests so you can use your book, notes, and anything else you have that will help you. Her lectures are interesting because she has some funny personal stories.

Lisa was such an awesome professor! If you're even the slightest bit interested in sociology I would definitely try and make it into one of her classes! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Great prof!

She came in half way through the semester because our other professor was on a leave. She writes the notes online and you can print them out and bring them to class. You can also use your notes on the tests. She uses a ton of real life examples to help you understand better. Her stories are hilarious and it makes you want to come to class

She's amazing! If you have any interest in psychology, take her! She tells stories all lecture! Her stories are so interesting and fun. The test are take home, and she gives online homework assignments. Attendance isn't mandatory but there is participation assignments, and her lectures are great anyway, so go. Definitely would recommend her!

She used to be a therapist. I enjoyed hearing about her experiences working with people that have mental illnesses: delusions, depression, schizophrenia, anxiety, etc. True stories help you understand the subject matter. Her tests are take home and open book! She is cheery and never makes people embarrassed. The funnest class at SCC!

I took her adolescent psychology04 class online and loved it. You have to do the work but it is completely worth it to have such an incredible teacher.

An outstanding teacher! She was so involved and always took it upon herself to keep the discussion boards going and really making us think outside of the box. The best teacher I have had so far at SCC. Always replied back when I had a question, and overall seems like a wonderful person who loves the profession she chose.

Mrs. Stoner is one of my all-time fav teachers! She's considerate, passionate about teaching and a real gem! I just love, love, love her! Plan on reading and quizzing on each chapter. We did a lot of discussions and I was able to get to know my classmates. Take her, she makes Psych fun!!

If you don't show up to class you miss out on her funny stories, plus the notes. She gave all take home test (god bless) but you NEED NEED NEED the notes to answer test questions. (plus she gives tons of extra credit)

She's hilarious. She has a story for every scenario. All tests are take home, and all the online work is short and simple. Three points of extra credit are given every week. (Do it!! It adds up in the end, just incase you forget to do assignments.) Missing class is not the end pf the world, all her powerpoints are online canvas. DO THE ASSIGNMENTS

Each time she has been extremely helpful and if you email her with a question she'll respond usually within minutes. She is an extremely funny and intelligent teacher.

I took an online course in the Spring 2017. Lisa Stoner was the instructor. Absolutely would recommend taking any class she teaches. She kept the class engaged, kept the lecture interesting and was very quick to get grades posted. She made me feel like I was in the classroom even though it was an online class. Easily one of the best professors I have take here at SCC. She does not have an educational background but between her professional experience and her personal stories, she makes you want all of your professors to be just like her. Lisa was a great professor! She goes above and beyond to stay involved in an online class. She communicates frequently and gives her opinion in the discussions. She grades things almost immediately and drops a couple of the lowest scores. Instructions are plain and simple and there is no final! I would take her class a million more times.

Lisa is a fantastic professor. This is my second class I took with her but my first online. As long as you do the work and participate on the online discussions you should get an A. Don't even bother trying to find the answers to her quizzes/tests online because they aren't there. The answers follow along with the sections/chapters in the textbook.

Professor Stoner is a great professor- she actively works to accommodate her students needs. Coursework is easy and instructions are overall clear. No textbook is needed for PSYCH-101 and she is easily accessible if you have any questions.

Lots of work to do, but graded easily. 5 big papers and mine were all about 8 pages long (title page and work cited included) but I got 100% on all of them. Just make sure you answer the question and are able to back it up.

This is one of the best classes I have ever taken. She is so funny and tells so many good stories about her experiences that honestly makes you wish her class was longer. Notes are online, so coming to class is just a bonus so you'll be up to speed. tests are all open note. Text book info. is the same as notes she provides so barely any reading.

I went to SCC before transferring, Professor Stoner was hands down the best professor I ever had at SCC. She inspired me to change my major to Psych and now I am a senior at SLU. She is funny and makes the material interesting. I always looked forward to her class, our exams were all take home and were pretty easy with notes.

Mrs.Stoner was the best professor i've ever had! She has a master's degree in clinical psych so she is very knowledgeable about every subject and always has a crazy/funny story to go with it. Professor Stoner created an environment where I felt safe to ask questions and better understand Psychology and its importance. She said prioritizing my health and my safety mattered more than making it to class on time, even if there's a small percentage loss. I hope to take her Psych 102 when I return for the next fall semester!
