One of the best teachers I have had. Makes everything so clear and assignments and tests are pretty easy if you just do the study guide before the test. Very nice teacher and a pretty easy grader. Made classtime interesting.

One of my best teachers EVER. Makes class fun and interesting. I changed from getting a minor in psyc. to getting a masters because of her. And this was just a GE class. She's great. Can't say enough good things about her. Tests are fair, even though I did poorly on my 2nd.
One of my best teachers EVER. I changed my major and decided to get my master in Psyc. while taking this class. Another classsmate I talked to is getting a minor in psyc. after this class. Teacher is SO fair and nice, you can email your papers to her, so if you forget about it the day it's due, no sweat! I learned SOOOO much from her class!!
I loved her! She is an excellent prof. She actually cares about what you have to say. The lecture was very interactive. It felt like were just talking, so it was not boring at all. Her class has several assignments so if you do bad on a test you can still do good. Her tests are easy if you do the study guide. I woudl recomment you TAKE HER CLASS!!!
She is very nice and interesting. She is straightforward. The class is pretty easy. You do need to read because some of the questions on the test are from the book and not the lecture. She is an easy grader. I was interested in taking this class before and she made it what I expected it to be (interesting and easy). I LOVE HER. taker her if you can
Lisa is amazing! She is such a great person & teacher. She makes the subject interesting. Her class isn't hard at all. She gives points when you show up! My advice buy the books because you will find a lot of test questions that come straight from them. If you show up, do the assignments, and read you'll do fine. You will not regret taking her class
Lisa is an incredible person and teacher. This class can change your life and the way you view the world. You will become a better critical thinker just by taking this class and the assignments are really great. I highly recommend taking her!!!
Wonderful, engaged teacher who is interested in her students' success. Clear lectures and extremely enthusiastic. Great class; a must take for Psych majors or just for fun. One of the best Psych teachers at CSUF!
she's one of the best teachers i've ever had seriously! class is mandatory if you want to do well on the tests cuz it comes straight from her notes. if you dont go to class then get the books and her study guides are easy to follow! so either way your good! she talks a lot but its interesting! TAKE HER!! you'll pass easily and actually learn!!
Shes really nice, and always willing to help student, she really explains psychology and wants students to use the skills learned in class. I highly recommend her. Shes not difficult either.
She is very sincere and knowledgeable. Her lectures were interesting and straight to the point. Her exams were from both lecture and some from the text. There were 2 papers that were easy and fun because they were about us and our opinions. Study guides were helpful and she was available for help.
Really nice. Really easy to talk to. You need the book though because a lot of things on the test aren't presented during lecture. Gives study guides for every test and if you know them, then you'll do fine. 2 papers but they were pretty easy. I recommend!
wonderful prof.easy&interesting material.study guide provided. exams are multiple choices and easy.one paper(no APA)and one research paper(APA).but she grades easily.she kind of talks too much sometimes but she is a good speaker!loved to listen her lectures.
SHe talks to damn much Repeats herself over and over. Her little comments towards men pissed me off but she swears every women acts the same & that is totally not true. I wanted to walk out in the very first lecture and I regret not doing it. Exams are based on lectures but mainly from text so make sure you read it carefully. And she is not hot!!!!
A nice and talkative teacher. While you don't need to show up everyday, its generally best to do so since you might miss out good notes on the lectures. Tests are pretty straightforward, the study guides cover all that needs to be covered and you do ocassional paper essays and group work but not too much. Overall, a really cool kickback class.
Very nice teacher that learns everyone's names, I don't really like how she facilitates notes-she just writes tidbits of info on the board. There really is no structure so sometimes it's hard to fill out the study guide. But her paper's aren't that bad. I would take her.
Very nice teacher. Very talkative, and approachable. She cares about her students and she wants you to do well. Should attend class because notes she goes over in class are on tests. You have one or two papers that are easy. Though you need to work for your grade, if you answer stuff on study guide you should do just fine
WEISMAN! is a doll. She was always willing to help you out and answer your questions if you had any. Her class overall was interesting and her examples are very clear. She likes using Freeway examples for a lot of things. She's corky and i loved her class.Take her!
Lisa is the most amazing professor. I've read a comment saying that she is biased towards men and that she feels women all act the same, when I have heard her say the exact opposite. She actually cares about her students and is genuine.
Psych of Women (and Men) I wish everyone could take this class and have their minds opened to more than just media ideals and stereotypes. Lisa is a great professor and uses examples from everday life even from her own. Everything is relateable and interesting. It is not just about women, all guys are more than welcome and make the disc better
Lisa is Amazing! She explains everything real well and makes sure you understand it. She tries to get on a personal level with her students so the subject is more applicable to life. Tests are based on her powerpoints;take notes and you'll be fine. There are 2 case studies, 5 tests, and you watch a movie at the end and all you have to do is show up
Lisa is such an awesome professor! She made class interesting. She's funny and really does want to get to know you. If you go to class and take notes you'll do fine. 5 tests and a few easy assignments. Do them and you'll do well. Its a cool class to take because she gets you interested and involved.
Absolutely loved this class! Learned so much from it. Lisa is very helpful and clear on what she expects. A Must takee class!
this ended up being my favorite class. attendance wasn't mandatory but the lectures were worth going to.take this class!!!
Really easy class. Most of the subject matter is pure common sense. Lectures were pretty interesting. You don't need the books if you attend lecture. She even gives you study guides for the exams. Overall, good professor.
Great teacher i loved her class she was really helpful. Absolutely interesting class you will not regret taking this class. Just go to class take notes and you'll do fine if you study those notes.
She tries to give interesting PP lectures but is very bias and I was rather bored much of the time - but that's the subject. (You are basically being force-fed opinionated rubbish) All in all, she is a good person and might make you laugh, or cry. Expect to pass, don't expect to love it. My only grade that wasn't an A.
Awesome professor!!! Made class so much more interesting!!
She is clear from day one. Her lectures are interesting, and the assignments are pretty simple. A lot may come off as common sense, but she puts everything into perspective, so be prepared.
Basically I had to take this class for the Freshman Programs, so as times it was really boring. However, it is a REALLY easy class and Lisa is really nice. She really cares about you as a person and wants to see everyone succeed. No final exam, just a bunch of short quizzes and essays. Everything is easy, but it can get extremely boring.
She was a great teacher! She knows what shes talking about and is open to hearing about our opinions on things. The way she teaches is excellent. She is super helpful and interesting. Come to class to understand the material, do the work (its easy), and you will get a good grade. I don't even study and I get Bs on everything.
I found her to be extremely biased and is a stickler with grades (she won't round up even if you are .1% away from an A.) The class was entirely taking notes off of a powerpoint during class & the tests weren't very hard. There is no homework so what you get on the tests is your grade in the class.
There is no hw for this class, so the grade you receive on projects and tests is it! Overall, the class was easy. You don't necessarily have to read the text if you attend class regularly, but have them nearby for studying references. She was very nice, always offered office hours and assistance when needed. Great professor for a GE requirement.
Dr. Lisa is such a sweet lady!! She is a truly good person! She really wants everyone to succeed. She tries to get everyone involved too (our class is very dead--8:30 in the morning). The class is a little dull but it's easy.
Great teacher! Unlike most teachers, her tests are actually based on the lecture. Make sure you get the book; some study guide questions can only be found in it. You make a virtual child, which was interesting. She's funny, too.
I loved this class and this professor! She was so nice and was excited about what she was teaching which helped to interest me. Its hard to pay attention when teachers are monotone and she was not. She is very helpful and cares about her students. Every test is the lecture notes from powerpoints. So, you study your notes you'll be fine!
This was my favorite professor that I have had this semester! She was consistent with what she promises on the syllabus. Attend all study sessions to get good grades on her tests. Despite my B I am happy to have met this professor she cares and has a great feel for what she does. She was always releasing good energy and overall interesting class.
I highly recommend to go visit during her office hours. Must attend her lectures; very helpful to prepare your exams.
She is an awesome teacher! One of the best teachers at CSUF! I was never interested in psych until I took this class with her. Her tests are really easy and all is based on class notes so you better attend class. I would highly recommend her :)
I came in as a Freshman and the first class I had was her UNIV 100 course. SOOOO happy that was my first college class. I learned she taught a GE I had to fill (PSYC 110) and just had to take her class! She's humorous, caring, makes class incredibly interesting, and always open to help! I work with her in UNIV 100 and want to take her PSYC 361!!!!
She doesn't take roll but you need to attend class to get a good grade. Her tests are based off her power points, so take notes. She gives you a study guide before the test. She is an understanding teacher and listens to what you have to say. Four multiple choice tests, one project, and small activities. I highly recommend her
Lisa is a great teacher and really cares about her students. her tests are really easy if you pay attention and go to the lectures. tests are based off of her lectures and she doesn't post them online so you need to go to class. good class to take if you are a psych major. I would definitely recommend her!
Great interactive lecturing nature. Thoroughly engages students with real-life discussion and examples throughout lectures. Life-long learning.
Great professor, her lectures are super fun. Both lectures and assignments get in point to cover everything you need to know for exams. Lisa definitively gets my recommendation as a professor to take.
One of my favorite classes. There was nothing about this class I disliked. Study guides cover everything on test, occasional class participation, and a very passionate, friendly professor. You need to put in effort to get an A, but its a class worth taking and extremely informative.
This teacher was interesting and funny. She makes you think without you knowing youre thinking, if you know what i mean. It was one of my favorite classes. No homework or quizzes, but STUDY for the tests because theyre specific. You don't need to buy the books, but know the notes from her power points front and back.
i feel attendance wasn't mandatory to succeed in this class, i do highly recommend it. class was always enjoyable, and a learning experience. Lisa guided discussions in a professional, friendly/ inviting way. not to mention she knows how to give a good laugh. she explains the material clearly, and was just a great professor, i hope to take again
Do not take her class lightly you will have to do some work in this class to get an A. Other than that she is very easy and as long as you can FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!!! you will prosper
I loved taking this class! She is very funny, kind, and interesting. I definitely recommend taking any classes with her -- she's amazing!
Dr. Lisa is a great teacher that really cares about her students. Very understanding and makes the lectures fun by relating it to life on a daily basis. It is an awesome class to take in order to learn about yourself and others. Her test are fairly easy if you pay attention to her power points. STRONGLY RECOMMEND.
She is an AMAZING professor who cares about her students and wants you to learn. She is super passionate about teaching and helps anyone who asks. She wrote the textbook herself and it is neat because it speaks to you as her student. This class counts for GE credit but everyone should TAKE THIS CLASS. REAL WORLD AND LIFE SKILLS ARE DEVELOPED!
Her tests were a little tricky. it seemed she always asked about little details that you didn't bother to study too much. I barely passed her class. she grades pretty tough on the smallest things. her lectures were really entertaining and I did learn a lot. if you want a good grade you really have to put in a lot of work
My favorite class for fall semester! She's a tough grader, especially on little grammar mistakes. Her tests are fairly easy if you really read the books and study. Also, her lectures are really interesting and applicable in real life. Enjoyed it very much and would definitely take her class again.
Super nice and helpful. Very knowledgeable and gives lots of good advice. There's 4 tests and no midterm or final, but a fair amount of assignments. You pretty much need to show up because her powerpoints give you everything that's on the tests, but otherwise you're fine.
the class wasn't too boring although some topics could be repetitive and common sense. there are four exams which were easy. they could be tricky and textbooks are not necessary. she put a only a few questions on the exams that required you to read the textbooks to know. i think she just did that so we would have to buy her book.
4 midterms 1 final. You get to raise a child and there is few assignments that need to be done it's worth same as a midterm. Her class is easy if you attend and pay attention. She is very funny and I loved her lectures because they were really interesting.
No +- grading in her class. Pretty straight forward class. Assigns a few in class activities and for homework. Tough grader and rarely gets full credit. Provides study guide for the test. You can pass without the books, but some material is n't covered in class and appears on the test. Learn some new things, but it was an eh class. Easy B
You will raise a virtual child and have 4 questionnaire's about it. She grades them really tough. You can always email it to her or TA's to make sure you're going to get a good grade. 4 Exams that have study guide. If you do the study guides you will be fine. you must turn in 2 of your study guides for pts. must turn in 2 study guides for grade.
Awesome professor! Her study guides are on point with the exams along with a few easy assignments. 50% of the exams are from lecture and 50% from the book. Take her!
She is an amazing professor that you will have. No cumulative final exam. Instead, she gives 4 exams consisted info of 3 or 4 chapters. You get to raise a virtual baby and write four short paper about hisher development in according to theories. Turn in two study guides to earn points. Some in class discussions to turn in. No powerpoint online.
She's an awesome professor who really cares about her students and gets to know you. Very sweet lady. Class is very straight forward and as long as you come to class you will do just fine. Overall amazing person! highly recommend!!!
Amazing Professor, my first semester at CSUF and couldnt have taken a better professor than her. I guarantee that you will learn alot. I would recommend her for those who are interested in a child development career.
Power points are easy to follow and help fill out the study guide (not mandatory). She's really funny and down to earth. Take her and you won't regret it! As for the textbooks, some questions from the guide aren't in her slides. I'd share the books with someone. Make friends cuz if you skip class, get pics of their notes.
Just show up to class and copy whatever is on the powerpoints. The tests are tricky but you can still get a good grade if you don't do so well on those. I didn't get any of the 3 books she required and still got a B. Just make friends with someone who has them. She has quite a few writing assignments throughout the semester but they are easy.
Dr. Lisa is AMAZING!! Class was never boring. She knew how to tie things into every day life so that it made sense to us. She is so funny and nice. Tests are not too hard if you study. Know everything on the study guides and you will be fine. TAKE DR. LISA!!!!
Powerpoint lectures. Tries to be funny. You will raise a virtual child and be given 3 questionnaires worth a total of 25% of the class. Hard grader on the study guides. 4 multiple choice exams.
She lectures off her powerpoint but she has so many examples and stories to tell that keep you interested. All the of assignments she gives really makes you think, but in the end you learn more about yourself. As long as you go to class, take notes and do her study guides you are good to go.
Great professor, would take her again. Study before exams and you'll do great. Overall easy A and you get to learn something new about yourself as the semester proceeds.
Go to class, she's pretty funny, and the lectures are interesting. Exams are mostly based off her study guides, do them! Raising the virtual child is simple, and questionnaires are fairly easy too. You'll pass if you apply yourself.
Fairly easy class to take, this class comprised of 4 exams (none of which is cumulative), 4 introspective questions paper, one essay, weekly online assignment and quizzes, and one very extensive project ( a 20 page paper). Overall, it wasn't a difficult class, the assignments are actually really easy but herexam questions are definitely tricky...
Dr. Lisa is funny and relatable. She makes class interesting and lively by allowing us to tell our own stories (and no worries, what is said in the room stays there). We do get to raise a virtual child which is also fun. There are several papers you have to do on the child, and two study guides are mandatory, but I would recommend doing them anyway
She is soo nice and really wants you to pass this class! 4 tests (but if you miss one you can take a cumulative one at the end), 2 study guides, 2 in-class assignments, and 3 homework assignments. Make sure you do the study guides! They are EXACTLY what is on the exam. Not hard to get at least a B in this class.
Critical thinking Paper is incredibly extensive, I wrote a 20 page paper and received a C on it!! (I am definitely not a poor writer and I poured my heart into the assignment). Lots of reading, 3 books needed, plus online assignments and quizzes. Her online book/website has so many bugs, very frustrating!
Great professor, interesting class for both GE and psychology major in general. The final isn't cumulative which I love and the study guides for tests are really helpful. She's funny while still make you pay attention to the material well. Take her class & you won't regret.
Her slides help a lot with exams. She teaches the course in a way that makes the material fun and interesting.
She is an amazing professor to listen and learn from. I enjoyed every day I was in that class because she made you laugh, taught you life lessons, and made lots of real connections to the material. Her assignments and exams are very fair if you put in some work. Test study guides are amazing and if you do those you will do very well on the exams.
She is an average professor in my eyes, but you can tell she truly loves her subject. She does tend to contradict herself and a lot of the material seemed pointless and a waste of time. You have to buy into it to do well imo. I'm an A student and struggled for a B. Take that for what it's worth.
She is truly amazing! The lectures were always interesting! Lots of material and consistently reminded you to do the study guides and readings. The textbook is necessary! She doesn't post her powerpoints so attendance is mandatory if you want to truly pass.
Prof. Davlantes is great! I enjoyed going to class every time. Her lectures are so interesting and she is able to relate the material to real-life situations. She gives out study guides and they help so much when they're done thoroughly. 10/10 recommend anyone to take her. You definitely have to read the book along with the lecture notes.
Dr. Weisman is a warm and easy going lady, but if you do not follow her instructions, can grade pretty hard. While her books are mandatory reads, the Senses is the most important. Feelings and Ethics are hardly used (only for some specific test questions), and one of the latter two can be found as an online PDF. Study guides are provided.
She's a relatively good-natured professor. Has funny and interesting lectures, mainly because her lectures consist of her telling stories/ranting. She's open minded but her mild dislike towards Christianity was off-putting. Memorize definitions of stuff word-for-word and try to remember examples cause she is very particular about vocab on tests.
probably one of the nicest professors and she's super helpful
Great teacher! Her tests are difficult but as long as you go to class, and write down all the notes, you'll be fine. By far one of the best professors you'll most likely get at CSUF.
Professor Lisa was extremely hilarious and brings her lectures to life by sharing her personal experiences. I just wanted to put it out there that the reason why people fail her class is because they think it is common sense and don't study. You actually have to put some time into the class if you want the grade you desire. TAKE HER!!
I've had Dr. Lisa for both of her classes, and this class was my favorite. The discussions were engaging, her papers were interesting to right, and she makes it all about learning about yourself! She's supportive, helpful, funny, and really does care for her students. TAKE HER AS MUCH AS YOU CAN AND ENJOY IT YOU WON'T FIND SOMEONE AS GREAT AS HER!
Shes amazing and is very organized and on task. Plus she is very sweet and willing to help anyone
Dr. Lisa is such an amazing professor! She makes her lectures incredibly interesting, she enjoys teaching and she is very understanding of her students. She makes every class so much fun! Her assignments and exams aren't too difficult. Overall, fantastic professor and would definitely recommend.
She is a great professor and her lectures are always interesting to hear. She is fun and can give you good feedback on your papers. Her exams weren't that bad. Her study guide follows what will be on the exam, and if you took good notes in her class you should be fine if you study them. Her papers are okay. Definitely put some thought into them.
AMAZING. If I could be a freshman again. I would take this class all over again. I simply love her. She is the best professor I have ever had. TAKE HER!!! Easy class.
The written papers are weighted the same as tests. she's very specific on how she would like the written assignments to be organized. organization is her top priority and the content of the paper has little significance. These "rules" and expectations for the organization are not clearly stated . Trying to guess what she wants is a headache.
Amazing professor and enjoyable lectures! Super sweet and always willing to help! Class is easy if you just follow her guidelines. Exams directly reflect the study guides so as long as you do them you'll be fine. She doesn't post powerpoints but her class isn't one that you wouldn't want to skip anyway. No papers and the final is not cumulative.
Very sweet professor who does care about her students. Her writing assignments are graded more on grammar/writing style than content from the class. Do the online homework!
BEST PROFESSOR EVER! SERIOUSLY TAKE HER!
One of the best professors at CSUF! Dr. Lisa truly cares about every single one of her students and goes out of her way to ensure that we understood the material. Tests may seem hard, but if you use the study guide she provides then youll be fine. Online homework is also essential to getting a good grade! Really apply yourself and youll be fine!
You have to buy her online textbook and do activities/quizzes for a grade. I think test and quiz questions can be a little confusing but you just really have to know the terms/ideas. She also grades very strictly on papers, which we had 4 of through the semester. Overall, she knows what she's doing
Dr. Lisa is a must take for psych 110. She is such an amazing lecturer and will really open your mind up to new things. Her tests are straightforward if you follow the study guide. There are a lot of writing assignments but I enjoyed them a lot and she gives great feedback. She is very caring and will help you if you go to office hours.
Great class! Dr. Lisa gives amazing lectures but it is important to show up to class because she does not upload them online. She does not take attendance. There are a few writing assignments throughout the semester, along with online reading and activities in the online textbook you HAVE to buy. She is very caring, don't be afraid to ask for help!
Professor Lisa is such a sweetheart and is very passionate about what she teaches. The papers were quite easy to manage, but the big paper you have to do does require a lot of thinking and revision. She also requires you to go to the university learning center, which is really helpful in the long run. Tests are straightforward and so is the topics.
Such a sweetheart! Love her so much! Please take her, she's very organized and her study guides really do reflect her exams. Her lectures are great and she really does care about her students! She is very clear about what she expects from you, not an easy A but she does give you great tools to succeed. Very doable for a 300 level course.
3 exams and final is not cumulative, few writing assignments that are not that difficult if you don't procrastinate. Her study guides are great and super helpful. Her lectures are interesting, she is very sweet, and caring. You can get away with not buying the textbook because her tests are mostly lecture based, other than that great choice!
Dr. Weisman-Davlantes was the best psych teacher!! I loved her style of teaching! She was super funny during lectures and made everything super relatable (but not in a cringy way lol). Be sure to take notes on powerpoints because most of the tests focus around them. Also the online quizzes were chill just don't forget to do them because easy points
Dr. Lisa is amazing! Her lectures were always enjoyable to be at and she is funny too. There is a book you have you buy for the class because it has all of the assignments. It's an easy A and she assigned just enough work to keep you engaged the subject. She's really nice and encouraging. Take her!
Omg where do I start? Dr. Lisa's class was one of my favorite PSYC classes I've taken so far. You do have to attend the lectures, because she doesn't post notes online, but I honestly loved going to her class so that was never really a problem for me. Also, the study guides she gives do help a lot with the tests and there are two easy papers.
AMAZING professor. Her class was very well laid out, I felt like I actually learned a lot from her class. She doesn't post anything online so you have to attend classes (wasn't like I wanted to miss her class anyway, she's so funny!) Planning on taking her again for future classes!
I'm taking the class right now and she is my favorite professor! Her lectures are funny, she has a great sense of humor, and she tells a lot of stories while managing to stay on task! Do the work and you will be fine! Best professor ever, take this class!
An absolute gem of a professor. Not only were her lectures entertaining and engaging, but she also gives great and CLEAR feedbacks, so there's no guessing as to find out which points you missed. This class is easy to succeed in, just complete the work and you'll be fine. She's also super understanding. My favorite professor this semester! Take her!
BEST PROFESSOR AT CSUF! Took her for this class and PSYC 361. Both classes are Easy A's AND you learn SO much. Make sure to complete the study guides because they are all you need for the exams. Every psychology student should take her. Such a sweet, respected, and inspirational woman! Absolutely love her. One of those classes where I LOVE lecture.
I thought this class isn't that hard. The exam questions are very wordy. Study the lectures and book well! The homework assignments are super boring. I spent lots of time working on them and get many points taken off. But, she does provide great feedback. She's always there for her students. She is also strict.
My favorite professor for spring '21. I look forward to watching and listening to her pre-recorded lectures. She is funny and she gives great examples so it was very easy to remember concepts. She assigns essays but they allow you to reflect and I enjoyed typing them. The exams are very passable as long as you take notes, watch the lectures,& read.
My absolute favorite professor this semester! I'll be honest and say that I didn't always watch her pre-recorded lectures instead I would go over the PowerPoint slides and take notes- I still passed with an A! There are 3 writing assignments that are easy and enjoyable considering they are all about yourself. Overall pretty easy and fun class!
Dr. Lisa is a sweet teacher and super funny in her lecture recordings, however this class is tough! She is a tough grader! she is very strict about deadlines. My friend claimed to have submitted their homework a minute late and they weren't able to get credit. You only get 30 minutes for 25 question exams so you have to really study! get the book!
She is a tough grader. Sometimes it is hard to reach her. At times it seems like she does not like to answer questions. Her TA' s are good for nothing. Her exams are easy. The lectures and videos are helpful. It just sucks that you can't ask questions on the spot because this class was asynchronous.
She is alright. Dont waste your time watching her lecture videos, just take notes from the slides only. SHE GRADES VERYYY HARD on the homework, and the homework is EXTREMELY boring!!!!!
Her grading criteria isn't super specific, yet she asks for the absolute most. Her and her TAs for the class were terrible at responding to emails. If you want an easy A, her homework and writing is HARD, but the tests are based off of good study guides she gives. She's also quite the hard-a$$. Enormous ego.
I have taken multiple classes with Dr. Lisa, and I have enjoyed each one. She relates the material to real life situations in the lectures. If you dont like it when professors use their life stories to relate to the material then dont take her class, she does this a lot. She is a tough grader and very strict with deadlines.
Her TAs suck. Tough grader, which the TAs do most of the grading. Takes off points for the smallest things. HAS A TEST EVERY TWO WEEKS LIKE WHATTTTTTTTTTTT??!?!?!?!?!!? never again
Took her class online. Lisa Weisman-Davlantes has an army of TAs, all of which do not seem helpful since it takes weeks to get HW scores back. HW assignments have a mini quiz at the end. She has great reviews and I am sure those are from people who are Psych majors. But if you need this for a GE, pass on this, it's a lot of work for a GE class.
Rants so much in the $70 textbook that you are forced to buy from her own website. Has a bunch of TAs like 5+ yet somehow is still behind on grading all the time. Points get taken off for the smallest things. So much work that I forgot I was taking a GE class. Also, she's condescending in her book, but at least she has some good lessons.
This is the internship class so the assignments are just journals and discussions. Very easy and Dr. Lisa is understanding if you are behind on your hours. There is a PDF of the textbook but you don't need to read it. Take her if you want an easy internship class.
I had her as my internship professor and even though it was online (and very easy), I went to her office hours for guidance and advice on grad school and she was extremely helpful and wants all of her students to succeed. Definitely recommend taking her.
I love her! All the work was super manageable, attendance not mandatory but you'll never want to skip. Amazing, applicable lectures and by far the best class I've ever taken. She grades super fast (exam grades back in the same week) and is super caring. If you have any questions ever about life or the class, she's ready to help!
This is my first time, EVER, rating a professor. I cannot begin to express how inspirational Dr. Lisa was--a literal angel. She is the sweetest, most caring professor ever. Everything she provides has a purpose. Her class was literally the highlight of my weeks. I highly recommend taking her in person as I treated her classes like therapy.
Honestly top 3 professors at CSUF. Her lectures feel like a story time session that is always relevant to the subject. Lectures are somewhat heavy but do not at all feel like it. Time goes by fast with Dr. Lisa. Also such a funny and entertaining professor! TAKE HER YOU WONT REGRET IT!!
super caring prof with an army of TAs that are itching to help u. attendance is not required but u have to buy her textbook and since its hers u cant find it for free. weekly homework through her textbook website. exams are in person based on in class lectures so if u pay attention they r easy.has a couple papers as well but provides great feedback
Dr. Weisman is exactly the person you want to take for PSYC110. Her class was enjoyable, and her lectures were fun. She truly cares about you as a student and will listen if you are struggling in anyway.
Dr. Lisa is an inspiring professor. Her engaging lectures and manageable workload make this class a joy. Unstuck AI was a huge help for exam prep. Highly recommend taking her in-person if possible.
Highly recommend this professor, she helped me understand the material and is very caring about students. She was open to students sharing their experiences and provided a safe environment. Her assignments were easy, just do the work and study and you will pass!
Great Professor! She is very caring, organized, and gives clear criteria for what she expects us to do on each assignment. She is strict about grammar and the quality of the essay, but if you follow her guidelines, you'll get good grades. There are 4 exams throughout the semester. The study guides she provided were super helpful. Easy A, fun class.
Super nice and easy going. Very easy to approach and ask questions and wants to see all of her students succeed. Great professor.
