Took this class online. Class is exactly the same with any professor. It is all setup beforehand, not too much contact with professor. However, when I did talk to her or ask questions she was EXTREMELY NICE!!! I wish I could take an in person class with her. Only complaint is she didn't keep the calendar updated when dates changed due to Ike.

took mrs. wildermuth for art history; very interesting class; you have to read the book in order to do well on the quizzes. interesting class, liked the museum projects we did, would have liked to take the class in person with her as the teacher, extended due dates due to hurrican ike. great teacher!
I am currently taking Ms. W this semester. I walk into class fine; but when I leave I have a major headache. She is sooo mono tone and boring. She talks all class period and gives me a migraine. She expects so much as far as papers and projects and reading for an Art History class. Bring Tylenol!!
Took course through Distance Ed. Class is very interesting but ALOT of information and a lot of reading. Museum projects were fun. Instructions for projects and syllabus are very vague, jumbled, and not understandable. Professor DOES NOT respond quickly to emails and questions. Takes a long time to grade assignments. Does provide extra credit.
Easy class but too much work for a art class 5 eassys if you take her online you have to mail in 1 art project and help ler grade your PEERS papers DON?T TAKE HER IF UR LAZY
Took this as an online course. Class is very easy for the most part, but there is way too much work for an art class. Weekly journals, discussions, participation assignments and a research paper are all part of this course. The assignments arent hard, but there is a lot of busy-work involved.
The class is alot of material but she makes it pretty understanding. She gives extra review sessions and pretty much goes over everything that will be on the test. Three papers and one class project. Art history is boring period. This teacher makes it interesting
Took online for summer, very easy sweet teacher. Responded to emails quickly. I thought the workload was big, but it was VERY easy. She gives you sentence for ssentence what she wants on the research paper. Provides very clear directions on essays, and provides examples. I could do 1unit in 2 hours, and there was only 1 unit every 2 weeks. Easy A.
I took her online. She was ok and responded to email on time but she was just too slow with grading. You have no idea how you are doing in the class until the end because she grades at the end of the semester.I was thinking if she knew she was going to grade at the end of the semester, why does she set up deadlines for work.it is very annoying
Lisa is an amazing n sweet teacher. She is very clear from the start of the semester what she expects and how she grades. She does have opportunities for extra credit including on her exams. ArtHistII covers a great deal of material yet she provides extra slide cards and powerpoints to review. GREAT TEACHER yet you must do your work I PASSED w. A
I had her for art appreciation in a DE class. For a DE class I think she did a good job of keeping the class interactive. There were a lot of assignments, but I did get a lot out of the class, so I would say she is a good teacher. I am now taking her for art history, and it is of course harder, but so far I still enjoy it.
Very easy class. Basically, every 2 weeks you write your opinion on a piece of art, you have a participation grade and you write one short paragraph about another art in different writing styles. You also have 2 weeks to answer 22 questions that are word word out of the book. No tests, no final. One research paper that she tells you word by word wha
This class was the hardest of the 3 I had for semester. 3 units of 5-6 chapters, 3 timed tests & final. 3 discussion essays, 3 museum projects, & 2 opportunites for extra credit. 6 untimed short ch. tests (very easy). She is very helpful, replies to emails. DO EXTRA CREDIT!!! NOT A CLASS FOR THE LAZY, I worked hard and EARNED an A!
Prof Wildermuth is very helpful, answers emails, BUT there is alot of work in her class, she lets u print the test questions before taking the test, but her grading scale is kinda crazy..overall I give her a B
I took this professor in a disted ed class this summer. Along with govt and Nutrition. I made A's in my other two classes and a C in Art. I worked my butt off in this class - she grades hard and there is a lot of work.
took online summer 10'. Class is over but I am still unsure of what I made. she grades at the end. Assignments are pretty easy but the instructions are awful! When she makes an announcement you have to manually go to the discussion board to view it! She doesn't send u emails or "announcements" popups. doesn't respond to emails well either.
I took Engl and Astr this summer and made 'A's in those classes (both were a lot harder) and got a 'C' in art! Her communication is poor and grading style is VERY complicated. You will not know whether you pass of fail until the end! good luck!
she is really hard at grading, she posts grades at the end of the semester.I would say if u want to make a C take her!
one word..AWFUL!! I loved art until I took this woman. I am in the middle of the semester and wish I could drop. Her grading system is out of this world, its uncomprehendable! I swear if I didnt need this class for my degree plan I would drop it. You have no idea what she is looking for when grading something. Run from this woman!
Easy class but there is a lot of busy work. If you can't get a B in this class you shouldn't be in college. Follow instructions, easy. 600 Total points given in the online class. You can figure out what grade you are getting or what grade you need on the Research Paper to get an A. This is college, not high school. I got an "A" in the class.
Just finished the online class. I hate Art History but I did enjoy the teacher. She responded to emails quickly and was very helpful. You can earn up to 1200 points with 3 discussions 3 museum projects 3 test and a final. She is a very slow grader but I'm sure it's becuase she has a life to! If you're not lazy, take her!
Wildermuth is an excellent teacher! very sweet, helpful, and also very clear about what she expects from the students. its a lot of work, but its easy. she also gives plenty of extra credit opportunities!
Took her Art History class online. Almost all work comes right out of the textbook. Her expectations and grading on assignments are somewhat unclear. She provides opportunity for extra credit. Best advice: Read the textbook, don't just skim! An A is possible, but you will definitely have to work for it.
ART History 1 Spring 2011 Online: I am not sure what everyone else is talking about. I could have Aced this class but I procrastinated. Its a chapter a week, one museum project every six weeks if you space it out. You have to keep up, and read, and you will pass, She gives extra credit, I passed because she gave extra points at the end,
Do not take her... she gives you all this work and makes the work much more difficult than its worth. Even though you do all the assigned task she takes off several points A complete waste of time and I am not a lazy student, find someone else....
If you are a hardworking and intelligent person this class should not be a problem for you. Be warned the answers for the tests are quite confusing even if you study the wording is ambiguous. The class is interesting and I did learn a lot.
I took this class for the summer and had 5 assignments due every Sunday, along with a research paper, had to mail in a project, then go to the art museum for extra credits. Lots of work. Received a "B" for the class and had to work very very had for that.
This is the worst instructor I ever met in my life. She does not her grade in time for someone to correct his/her mistakes before the next assignment. I did all that is required in this class in spite of my Associate degree in Art, She gave me a grade of "C". This is the first in my career after almost two years in college. Please RUN! RUN!! RUN!!
I thought it would be an interesting online class, but I was very disappointed. She doesn't provide enough tools to help on the test. The final was the only easy thing about this class. I wouldn't suggest this instructor to anyone.
Took online class during 8 week summer semester. I received an A. Didn't read her reviews here until after I signed up for class. At first was going to dropp class. But the class was very easy. Some of the quiz questions were kind of hard to find. 5 quizes, 1 essay, 1 hands on project(mailed in), and 5 field trips(your view of artwork)
I took her online course over the summer; trust me if you can't keep with your work, you will not pass this class. We had 2 projects, 4 quizes, 5 exams, and 1 final. I did all my work and made good grades on all my assignments and still made a B. I think this class was one of the toughest ive taken at HCC; This is not an easy A class.
Good class. It was well organized and interesting.
Extremely easy class, she gives great feedback on each assignment. Would recommend her online class, as long as you do your work on time you'll pass with an A!
She is very hard. Gives a lot of homework (Quiz, discussion, test, & some sort of essay) due every 2 weeks. She is also a very hard grader! The quiz is open book with an unlimited clock. The exams are timed and it is very hard to find the answers. Not recomendable!
Mrs. W was absolutely amazing. We did an in class project that involved us curating and putting on an exhibition. I definitely think this class is worth taking! All of the tests and homework were straight forward. Just study your notes and you are golden!
Overall, she is friendly but disciplined. Make sure to take notes and attend classes. These counts.
I was very excited about this class and her assignments. The course made me look at art differently. I really enjoyed the course and the assignments, especially the museum assignment. The professor was awesome and exposes you to a lot of art.
I took this course as hybrid. She did no communication online but recommended we asked questions, did not respond to any email messages and should've because the course was hybrid. She encouraged me to continue on into the class knowing my situation. Doesn't give clear direction for test. Too much reading not enough lecture. She's sweet but Hard!!
The class is difficult, you have to work hard for your grade and try. No A will be given. I LOVE THE class, the professor is really good at emailing you back. GO TO CLASS AND ASK ALL THE QUESTIONS YOU NEED. She is really helpful and always is willing to help. I would take these classes again! Great teacher and great appreciation for art!
It is super tough class. I am an A student and am very interested in art. However, her online course is such a disappointment. Even though you have read all the text and taken notes, you still receive very bad grades. I asked some of students in my group, one of them got an honor in her major but was still struggling in this course just like me.
This class was a breeze for me! Pretty much do your work and you will earn your A! A lot of reading which I didn't like, but oh well gotta do what you gotta do. It was worth my A! I actually loved having to go up to the MFAH for a project. Would take her again!!
Professor W deserves better ratings; most of her classes are online (so people who gave her mediocre grades may just have difficulty with online courses - not the subject). I had her for a lecture course - amazing teacher. Her lectures are the only notes I studied. I fell in love with art more than ever! Very passionate art history professor.
Professor Wildermuth is an amazing professor. She's well informed about what she's teaching and does a great job passing on the knowledge to her class. Easy A! Group project was easy and I loved this class. I would recommend her class if you want to learn about arts while enjoying the experience.
Professor Wildermuth is a very great professor. I took a hybrid class (meet-up and online class) and It was very easy and simple. Exams were open notes and she was very told the rules and steps on how to do assignments until the point where everyone understood her. She has a passionate attitude towards teaching Arts and made the class very fun!
Very simple class. I enjoyed it because it was hybrid.
Professor W is an amazing teacher with a passion for art that she wants to share. Her lectures make art interesting. Offers tons of extra credit. Attendance is marked down, but don't abuse your absences. The exam review makes the test so easy. Definitely recommend this class Overall a really fun class and encourages social responsibility.
She is nice. Gives lots of opportunities for extra credit. You do have to read quite a bit for the class if you want an A.
This is a survey course with lots of reading, and lots of lecture, and a major group project at the end. Prof W. does a great job explaining the various pieces, time periods, and styles. This is not an "easy A", you have to do a lot of work. But she also has SO MANY extra credit opportunities, because she really wants her students to pass.
Shes really good! extremely passionate about art. Lets you know what is on exam its up to you to review material. Fair grader.
Although she takes time to reply to e-mails but, she is very kind and caring and she will go to details if you ask her. Homework were much but there were a week time for completion. I liked her and the class was good too. Diffidently very easy class to get an A.
Easy class with LOTS of extra credit. Most of the test answers are online. Really no need to buy the txt book. Just take her and pass already!
She is a great professor with many lectures, but very passionate about art. 3 major exams, but drops your lowest exam grade. There is no final, but there is a group project/presentation. For the exams, make sure you do the review and go to any study sessions that are available to you. Overall, she is a great professor and it is a great class.
Each week, you'll have assignments based on the textbook and powerpoints. There's also a weekly discussion board where the answers are essay format. These assignments aren't difficult, but a ton of busy work. Very time consuming. In addition you have 4 tests, but are very easily online searchable. You will get an A if you try and put in effort.
Prof Wildermuth is a great professor, but she is not a free credit. You will have to purchase/read the text book and participation in class is a definite plus. If she offers reviews for exams, take them. During the semester, she offers plenty of extra credit opportunities and they can be helpful. Overall, she is a very caring and attentive teacher.
I took her for two Art history 1 and 2 and she was by far the best teacher I've had for both semesters. She was always smiling. Very polite and enthusiastic. Everything was on point. You just need to study a lot. She got me so interested in art history. However, If you don't like notes, studying, and reading, you won't be so good in her class.
Prof Wildermuth is a living gem! If you don't have any experience or interest in art at all, you will really LOVE Ms. Wildermuth. She makes art history the most interesting subject. There was not a single class that I was not thrilled about. She inspires and cares for her students in an unimaginable way. PLEASE TAKE HER! No chance of regretting :)
Even though this class was just a credit class she was a great teacher. She made sure we knew what was gonna be on the exams and she was overall such a nice teacher. As long as you show you're willing to learn she will give you a great grade. absolutely no way to fail her class.
She is so sweet, always ready to helps the students. She is very passionate so makes the class very interesting. if you take this class you will love the art. The exams are all about the class, so it will be very easy if you assistance to class and pay attention.
Took her for summer semester hybrid class ARTS 1301. Just take her! She is the best. I did not buy the book, she will emphasize on buying the book but you won't really need it. VERY EASY A!
I took her for both Art HIstory 1303 and 1304. I made an A in both classes. Both classes requires a group project. The test are from the book and she gives extra credit during the semester. If assignment is not completed on time she will grade what is completed.
I took Mrs. Wildermuth Fall of '18 and I absolutely loved it! Look, I'm no good at art and didn't know a dang thing about art history, but she made the class enjoyable for us all. She understands that some students just need credit, but she has this amazing way of connecting with her students and teaching them about art. I HIGHLY recommend her!!!
Professor Wildermuth is a very sweet person. During our HONORS class, I struggled a little bit in the class, but she is always there to help her students and answers any question during the lecture. I had to work hard, but ultimately I received a good grade. I learned a lot. Abdul.
She was the best! I took summer 5 weeks hybrid class and she made it so easy. I got an A and there is a group project. Everything else is due online at home.
I took it for the five weeks summer (hybrid) Shes the best professor, her optimism is so big, her grace too. Shes a really sweet person. Theres one group project, and 3 major exams that are really accessible to take them at home.
One of the nicest teacher Ive had! As long as you read the textbook you should be good. Always willing to help her students out.
The course is pretty easy lot of extra credit in class mine was hi-bird class and she pretty funny and there will be a group project and if you just participate in class and do good in exam you will pass the class. try to take hi-bird class do not take online class.
I have had several professors at HCC who were simply kind and helpful, such as for general psychology and introduction to sociology, but professor Wildermuth was beyond extraordinary. She was very helpful, caring, and even inspirational. Me, being a dual-credit student and now a senior, have learned a little bit more about art. Take this professor!
I took her hybrid class, so half of the class was lecture, the other half was online. you will need the textbook in order to pass. tests, quizzes and everything really are online. she's very organized and runs the class very smoothly. the class was broken up into modules, which were basically 1 module per week. she is so sweet and I loved her.
She is wonderful and makes her assignments clear. Just make sure you have the right textbook to avoid getting behind with work. The group project is kinda tricky but no worries you will have plenty of time to work on it as best as you can. Always gives extra credit opportunities to improve your grade. Must take her for Art History Online 2.
If your major is not Art, you should take her class. She gives a lot of extra credit, and the test is based on the book. You should read the book carefully. She is an easy grader, but you should follow what she tells you to do.
Professor Wildermuth is the best, cool, and inspirational art professor I've ever had. I recommend you guys to take this art professor, she's the best!!!!
She's the BEST art Professor!!! I recommend you guys to take her for Art Class. She cares and helps her students out. She is good in teaching! Billions of times YESSS to Professor Wildermuth!!!!!
I took this professor, and she was the nicest professor I have taken at HCC. She is very caring, so as long as you show up to class and pay attention, you will pass. She drops your lowest test score.
I recommend you guys her because she's cool, nice, awesome, and she makes the class easier!!!! She's the best!!!
She's the best, fun, awesome, nice, she cares about her students, she gives good feedbacks, she's makes the class so easy. I recommend you guys to take her!!!!! SHE'S THE BEST ART PROFESSOR!!!!!
Ms. Wildermuth, she's awesome, clear, understandable, she makes the class so easy 100%. Also, I passed her class with a final good grade +A.
She rocked this fall semester because she makes everything so clear, good, easy, she cares about her students, and she's awesome too!!!
Took her for online Art History II and honestly, I don't really know what she's like as a person but this course was pretty easy to take online. She assigns everything due each month by the end of the month so you can work at your own pace to get stuff done. However, she still made us do some group work which was kind of difficult during covid.
Overall, I didn't have too man issues with the course pother than it REALLY needed to be separated out more. I work a day job, too, and am forced to approach my online classes a certain way - and the giant assignments don't help. I also believe that it would help tremendously with actually learning about everything available instead of thrashing it
Lisa is well organized and replies to questions in a timely manner. She is positive and helpful, which is vital in an online setting. I highly recommend her.
This professor was really good. She didn't have a lot of assignments and the assignments were very easy as well as the tests. The only difficult part of the assignments were that you would have to look through the textbook multiple times and it was kind of time consuming. Other than that, 10/10 , would recommend.
She is very passionate about the subjects she teaches and does an amazing job at keeping things interesting! assignments were very straightforward and she gave enough time to complete them. took her this semester for art history and I'm gonna take her class again next semester:)
Easy assignments and grades. Attendance will count towards a group project grade. The assignments are easy to finish, and all that you need can be found in the textbook. She has lots of random opportunities for extra credit as well. I would recommend her class because of the simplicity.
This class made me relaxed and enjoyable. The professor was patient and explained the questions and course rules in detail. This is not a difficult class, and assignments greatly help me learn the knowledge in the textbook. There is a group assignment, but it is easy to complete. I will choose this professor's class again!
Professor W is amazing! She is funny and really cares about her students. She laid out all the expectations during the first class, and she was very clear with what we would need to do during the semester. The PowerPoints can be a lot, but you have a lot of time to finish them, and the group project is easy and fun. She answers emails fast as well!
Great Professor overall! Very understanding of students and provides excellent feedback on assignments.
