Really nice and easy-going lab instructor. Quizzes are hella hard (really hard greader), so make sure you read your lab manual well before you take them. Otherwise, doesn't really care about too much. Can be funny at times, and really just laid back.
She is a really nice and helpful teacher. She takes a great interest in the class and encourages questions. If you do her objectives before the test you will do well. straight from the book. take this class!!
She is a very good teacher and relates everything to real life. If you're willing to work for your grade I would recommend this class.
cool cool class, you can tell she didnt major in anatomy, but she tries hard and wants her students to do well.
I took her class at Annandale. She is a great teacher. Make sure to study and you will do good.
Very difficult class...dont take it with her. She is hella tough and unclear.
she's a good teacher..she is pretty hard...but just study..u'll do fine....very nice though!
Stay away from this professor, she is horrible. She teaches at a higher level even though its an entry level class.
She was great! She tested on material covered & took the time to explain what ever you needed. She was helpful & easy to understand. Most of her lectures were on power point & labs were easy to understand. I would definitely recommend her. I wish I could take her class for the second half of Anatomy! She is worth it!
After i heard her first lecture, i knew i wouldn't do good in the class. She explains biology at a level of a BOTONIST; as she is, making you not able to comprehend her definitions. She's nice though, and if you study and come to class everyday, you should make a C. Study real hard for her tests though; they are hard!!!
She's perfectly nice but she makes so many mistakes. All her lecture notes end up being wrong and this frustrates me beyond belief. She's good if you can pick up on the mistakes and learn yourself.

Good teacher, pretty easy, she has all of the notes online so you dont have to take them in class. She doesn't take attendance for lecture but does for lab. Tests are hard-definately study good. She is really nice and not too strict.
Terrible teacher. She is unclear about everything. Her tests are hard. She doesn't even cover the material that is in them. She is very unorganized and forgetful. I highly recommend you take someone else.
Pleasant, nice-cares about students and not too strict. also approachable. A&P is just plain hard (its college remember) but she is patient and will answer questions and help readily. Exams are hard but if you put in the time u should do great.
she a very nice person and a good teacher. Be prepared to study a lot, because exams are hard. she posts PwPnt notes in the class website. Answers for the exams (60%M.C/30% short "clear" answers/10%matching ) are found in the class notes+ book. Exams can be tricky. You NEED to know well the subject, memorizing will not help you. overall she's good.
Her lectures may get a little boring sometimes, but she's really nice and very passionate about what she teaches. Her tests come straight from her study sheets and you can print her notes of line. I'm not a bio major, but I managed to sneak away with a B (almost A). I highly regret switching to another professor for bio 102.
Ms. Williams is nice and means well but she is disorganized and gets off track during lectures. She also tries to cram too much info. into some of her lectures. She uses the same tests from previous semesters so she does not let you review what you got wrong. I think she lacks creativity and I would suggest taking BIO 141 from someone else.
NICE, hardworker, but a little bit of attitude, just reads off power pt. doesn't teach well unless you are in lab
Mrs. Williams is an awesome teacher...everyone complaining here obviously didn't want to be in bio and didn't try...I went to just about every class and paid attention the whole time without putting too much time in studying and I'm either going to get an A or B....highly recommended!
Awsome teacher, very clear and easy to understand. One of the most helpful and approachable teachers I've had at NOVA. If you plan to attend regularly and listen in class then you will do well!
Touch but good Professor.
best teacher ever...easy going and very helpful. just go to class and do the study guides!
I love this class. Recommended. Tests are directly from lecture and lab no curve balls, Great teacher!
She is a great professor. I41 is a hard subject so if you are in it, you have to study hard to get a good grade. Mr William is always there to help after and before class. she loves the labs. which makes your work easier to understand and her tests are out of the study which you really have to study. I wish i had her for 142.
REally really difficult i would not suggest her at all
I had this professor for A&P with Microbiology. She was awesome. Instruction was at a level that everyone could understand. She made sure you understood what was taught. I was always happy to go to class, just a WEALTH of information. A+ in my book.
Took anatomy over summer at Mason w/ her. She thinks the course needs to be hard, so she makes it hard. You get no breaks. Power points impossible to read, hard exams, no curve. Attendance dropped to 30% after 2nd exam. Avoid if possible, I think she has it in for Mason students. I don't think she smiled once during the whole course.
i had her at gmu. what does it tell you when no one comes to class? exams are really hard. she doesn't curve or give extra credit or drop anything. terrible rapport with class, probably why less than half came to lectures. really odd situation. seems like she is angry or something. exam 3 was killer... punishing students? avoid this professor.
She is a great instructor, she helps in anyway she can if you become lost or confused with the material. She provides plenty of study material for her exam and lab practicals.
Best teacher I have had in a while. You have to know that you cant take a biology class without studying. With that being said, she gives GREAT study guidelines and everything that is on the tests are taught in class. She is very helpful and grades fairly. I recommend taking her. I would take her next semester too if she was teaching BIO 142!
An incredibly humble, approachable and cooperative teacher.she tries her level best to cater to every student's individual needs and answers questions no matter how many times you ask.Learn the class notes and bboard stuff well.DONT BUY THE TEXTBOOK(unless you want it for personal knowledge enrichment). She maybe really boring sometimes;blame botany
The nicest and sweetest woman I have ever met. Infinitely helpful and understanding. She is a great counselor too; you can ask her for so much help beyond the classroom crib, and she is ever ready to assist students with their work. Amazing person, I LOVEEE HER!
Shes the best! learned so much in her class. I strongly recommend her. Shes very helpful too.
She is very nice and understanding. Hard class and lots to learn but with lots of studying and paying close attention should have no problem getting the grade. You have to work for it but she provide plenty of grades.
Love this prof. She wants u to understand material & do well, & lab was always fun. Go to class bc she gives 3pt quizzes @ end of lectures, which add up if u miss them. Do the study guides - very helpful! Uses Bb regularly (I say is a plus), posts her PPs, but go to class bc she goes in-depth w/some processes which are worth bonus pts on exam!
Great professor! For someone going to school at night while working full time, this was a great class! She is very helpful and wants you to do well! Make sure to go to class, study for the tests and quizzes (which she gives you advanced notice of what's going to be them) and you will do fine. Received an A and her class was manageable!
Wonderful experience in this class. Prof. Williams explains everything in detail and is willing to give extra help if you need it. You have to go to class and study review questions. Many opportunities for extra credit too! Easy A if you read the material and study.
Not easy by one of the best at NOVA. Must do your part (read text, take notes, follow power point in class, and definitely attend lab), but this prof. is willing to offer as much help as you need as long as you are doing your part (read, study, attendance). Bio 142 is way easier for those who take 141 with Williams because you are PREPARED.
She mainly use powerpoints as her notes and give great examples in order for you to remember it. She is very helpful and easy to understand. There is alot of quizzes but they are pretty easy if you paid attention in class. I definitely recommend everyone to take this class
Mrs. Williams is an amazing teacher!!! I am an older returning student and I'm so happy I took her. She teaches by way of powerpoint and provides study guidelines. There is a lot of material! If you do her study guides, you will be fine in the class. She's very helpful and you can tell a very nice person at heart.
SHE IS AMAZING. She is one of the best teachers at NOVA! She is very organized, has great PP's that contain info. that you'll be tested on, she puts grades up quickly, and is so easy to follow because she tells you exactly what you need to do to earn a good grade. I wish she taught 142 as well. More teachers need to be like her!
You'll never know where her grades come from because she doesn't grade anything.
Professor Williams is the best professor I have had while attending NOVA. Took her Bio 141 class my first semester and no other professor has yet compared. She is not only an incredibly Kind person, but also one of the best (and clearest) lecturers, providing essential information in a quick and coherent way via her powerpoints. I RECOMMEND HER!
Professor Williams is knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and encouraging. Her class is definitely not the easiest, so if you're looking for an "easy A" then this is not the class for you. With that being said, she is extremely informative and interactive with her students. She is always willing to help and is hands down the best professor I've had.
She's a nice lady, but she expects you to know the material and it's too much material to actually know. Somewhat helpful, but not really unless you kiss up to her. The class is hard as it is and she doesn't really help make it easier. Take her if you know how to answer your own questions because she always says " I don't really know" :/
Excellent professor. I'm an older returning student and fell in love with A&P as a result of this class. Prof. Williams' passion for the subject is infectious. You need to do your part: study and be engaged. But she will go out of her way to answer questions and clarify material; very generous with her time. Highly recommended.
She removes the lowest exam which helps but her exams are difficult even though they're multiple choice. She gives a paper assignment for extra credit which helps. Her lectures are almost impossible to keep up with. Very boring and confusing.
She's one of the best professors I have had at NOVA. I don't understand why some people say she is hard bc she provides you a review sheet with everything you need to know for all quizzes and exams. She expands on the material during lecture so attendance is mandatory but she is more than willing to help when you ask for it. Awesome professor! A+
She's a good professor. She really knows her stuff, but she's very disorganized. She usually forgets to post stuff on BB, or arrives late. Lab was good nothing special. Her lectures are based on power points, but you really need to read the textbook, for more understanding. Her exams are not too hard, but they can be tricky. Overall, she's good.
She is a good professor but very very disorganized. I personally loved her but i just wish she would have plan ahead. She comes to lectures late most of the times and doesn't post much on blackboard. She is one of those teachers that you can't hate because she is so nice but at the same time knows how to get on your nerves by her approaches.
Very very nice lady but super unorganized. You'll have a D in the middle of the semester but you'll realize that you actually have an A because she waits until the end to add your grades in. Study guide isn't that helpful. Study her powerpoint instead. No textbook needed. She'll help you when needed.
To be honest, I didn't attend class that often. I only showed up when there was a test (I followed along by doing the connect readings). She provides study guides that are extremely helpful!! Her lab exams are pretty hard though. Just do well on the exams and do the connect work and you'll definitely pass
Although she very unorganized, she is personable and willing to help those who ask for it. You have to work for your grade, it's anatomy what do you expect? No science course is an easy A. She gives study guides that are very broad, but that forces you to learn the material.
It was a tough class. I got a B, but I had to earn it. I would suggest sitting near the front. Its a lot of information but Williams is prepared to help. I do think she is the best professor to teach BIO 141, I wish she taught BIO 142. Show up to class, do all the assignments. Don't skip lab because you lose points. Reviews/extra credit are given.
Very unorganized professor. She worked in labs with rats all her life, do not know how she landed this job. Doesn't put ANYTHING on BB until the course is almost over so you think you're failing and by the time everything is up you don't even have a chance to get a higher grade. Show up to labs, gives extra credit. Study guides did nothing for me.
I think she's a great instructor and not unorganized. Anatomy is a tough class, so you must prepare for it. She posts all lecture notes and other materials on Bb to help you study well, and exams straight out from the study guides. She's extremely friendly and helpful at her office hours. If you are serious about learning, she's there for you.
She's great. Always in a good mood, always willing to help, and explains things clearly. It helps that she's very passionate about Botany, which made the class more engaging. She's a fair grader. But, be prepared to attend the labs or you won't pass.
Excellent professor. Very kind and helpful and knows her stuff. Always, always willing to help. Not unorganized at all and in fact, is very organized. Always in a good mood, explains well, and is very fair with grades. You just have to put in the time like with all classes.
Prof. Williams is kind, intelligent and passionate. She really enjoys teaching and is always available/willing to help. Sometimes lab seems disorganized but it is a lot of material to cover. Pay attention in lab on what you will need to memorize for lab exams and take advantage of your time viewing models/slides. Study guide clear for lecture.
I can't say enough good about Mrs. Williams. She's smart as a whip, loves teaching A&P, cares about her students, and is willing to help any time. There are study guides for every lecture and lab exam and she has printable PP lecture notes available before each lecture. Go to class. Go to lecture and lab prepared and study.
pretty poor in the lecture area as she just reads off the powerpoint and hardly anything on her study guides ends up on the exam. Her labs where pretty good and probably the best parts of the course, but she makes the course harder for some reason and I think the place has better professors for the subject at this place.
Loved her lectures, she really went in depth about the subject we were on. She was passionate about the class which made everyone look forward to her class. She explains things in different ways when you don't understand or asks classmates to help if needed. Study guides were super helpful for the tests.
Professor Williams enjoys teaching and overall answering any questions students may have. If you are a visual learner you will really enjoy her class, her Power Points are very helpful to both lab and lecture classes. I highly recommend her!!
Mrs. Williams is a wonderful professor. She really cares about how she teaches so that her students can get the most benefit. She takes the time to explain difficult concepts and is always willing to discuss further after class. This course isn't easy, you have to work for it. She will expect you to put in the work for your grade. Take her for 141
THIS IS NOT THE CLASS TO TAKE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO PUT FORTH THE EFFORT. NO CHEATING!!!!! She makes all her students hand in their phones before a test.
Prof Williams is without a doubt, the best A&P professor at NOVA. I strongly encourage you to take her if A)you have the eager to learn and B)your willing to put the effort. Its a biology course so you OBVIOUSLY will need to study and show up to class. Take her only if you have those qualities, if not, save your $ and dont even register for A&P.
Ms. Williams is an awesome professor. She really cares if you put in effort, she tries to make the class fun. If you try to high five her though, she will leave you hanging. I like her humour, she is very passionate and really knows her material in which she covers very well. 10/10 would recommend to people who are just starting to learn anatomy.
Professor Williams does a very good job at helping you understand the dense material of this class. You need to show up and take notes. If you're a future medical professional this class is for you, she's very passionate about the content and you will leave her class knowing so much! As long as you put in the effort you will succeed. She's v kind:)
Prof Williams is a great professor for A&P. If you put in the work outside of class/lab for 8-10 hours you will do well. Those who don't do well, are careless & make no effort to learn & understand the material in class. She is very approachable & can explain things in more depth outside of class. Manage your time, read, and use CS-132 lab!!
She is a good teacher who is very knowledgeable about what she's teaching. That being said you do have to put in the time studying if you want a good grade. She post's everything on blackboard which is helpful as there is a lot of info covered. Also study guides and tests don't usually match. Willing to help outside of class
Lecture heavy makes the class harder than it needs too Very static
I love Professor Williams! If anyone has said anything negative about her, they probably didn't put forth enough effort in her class. A&P is not an easy subject by any means. You have to put in the work and study A LOT. She is extremely smart & passionate about what she teaches. She cares about her students and wants them 2 succeed. 100% recommend!
Prof. Williams is a very nice lady. She knows the material well and teaches in way one can understand. She tends to forget certain tasks and can be disorganized at times, but that's normal. The material is heavy, but she offers office hours, study guides, time after class, etc. to help one understand the course. Try to attend every lecture!
Professor William's is a very caring and intelligent professor. It is a lot of material but she provides study guides, Skype on weekends before tests for students with questions, and is always willing to answer questions in class. Her tests are a little tough but doable. She almost always curves the test 1-3 points.
Professor Williams is a very nice lady, she is easy to understand and straightforward in her lectures. She gave study guides and went in depth. Down sides are she is pretty disorganized and makes a lot of mistakes. She also will say a quiz will be a certain page or picture and it will be something completely different.
Prof. Williams is really kind and sweet but doesn't test you on the material she teaches. Also her study guides are not accurate whatsoever. Also if you're looking for a teacher who gives quick feedback, I'd recommend you not to take her. Attendance is usually taken in lab, barely in lecture.
I seriously do not recommend this professor. Shes a good person, however she reads directly off the power points and it can be very hard. Her exams are extremely difficult and do not even mention the cumulative final. I'm an average student, studied extremely hard, however I ended up with a C. If you don't want to ruin your record, don't take her.
Be prepared to teach yourself! Super sweet lady but her teaching style is not good. I passed but that is ONLY because I have prior knowledge in the course.
She is very nice but her teaching style is not very helpful. She knows a lot but she doesn't explain things very well. She does give a study guide for the tests but they are only about 60% of the test material. I would study the power point slides instead. She just reads her slides for lecture. The tests are what make up most of your grade.
She is the worst instructor I have ever experienced without exception. She is completely unprepared for class and unresponsive to emails. She regularly makes mistakes in her lectures from what the text says, often talking in circles then makes more mistakes on her tests and will not answer questions about her errors. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!
Professor Williams is a kind and caring person and very knowledgeable about her subject. She gives great powerpoint slides and study guides. You will have to do a LOT of textbook reading for this subject and maybe even watch some videos on the internet to really grasp some of the material, but you will get a good grade if you do the work.
Professor Williams is a great teacher. She posts PPT, study guides that match the exam, and video resources. She also has a clear grading criteria: 3 exams, quizzes for each unit, and a final. Most exams are multiple choice but some have a mini essay which is in the study guide. her response time isn't great for emails try canvas. She's very kind.
I wish there wasn't a limit on here! When it comes to remote learning she's consistent. Even though attendance isn't mandatory its best not to skip since she doesn't record lectures and doesn't know how to allow students to record. Pay attention to lectures they're very helpful. She also gives extra credit at the end by attendance.
Prof. Williams is a fantastic teacher! She is very knowledgeable about the subject & willing to answer all questions. She helped me to truly understand the subject so now when I'm working in the hospital I know things and can pick up on things that would have gone over my head before. I totally recommend her for anyone looking for a great teacher.
