Highly recommend. She gives very good notes while describing what she is talking about on the chalkboard. She gives you an outline to go by and tells you the exact questions to study for that will be on the test. You know what to focus on. Great Teacher!! Very nice too!

Best BIO teacher there is! I feared taking BIO, but Ms. Wrenn made it so easy. Definately knows her subject and is very clear during discussions. Never even had to use my book. Everything is straight off of her notes. Had her for lecture and lab. Highly, highly recommended!

Prof. Wrenn is really interested in the subject matter she teaches as well as her students understanding and passing the course. She teaches and tests directly from her handouts. She is a very nice person at the same time. I recommend her highly.

Mrs. Wrenn has so much passion for the subject of biology that she makes it hard not to learn. I was terrified to take Biology again after a 6 year break from college and this is the class that I am doing the best in. If you really want to learn about the subject of any of her classes, take her. She actually cares that her students succeed.

Great teacher, but was hard on the quizzes (mostly fill in the blanks). It prepares you for the practical, but for the quiz there's no real chance to jog your memory if you couldn't remember something. So much info to learn in so little time, it can get overwhelming.

Wrenn was an excellent professor. I had her for lab and lecture. She was tough in lab just bc of the quizzes, but study for those just as you would a test and you'll make an A. as for lecture, she gives you handouts and well pay attention, study the handouts and you'll make an A ... easily!

She was a very good teacher; however, I don't think she explained certain subject matter in a way that pre-bio students could appreciate and remember. There was more writing notes in her class than anything. Above all, she wasn't a bad professor at all (even though I failed on my own account).

Ms Wrenn is an excellent teacher of biology. Her tests match the notes and the notes are very clear. Her class is an easy "A" if you put in the effort to study. I'm definately taking her for 102.

LAB. She is a good teacher. There is an incredible amount of information to learn/memorize, but you can do it if you spend the time on it. She is very professional, and expects you to be the same. For my class, she made the midterm practical. Quizzes are fair. Study until you got it down pat and you will do fine.

Are we talking here about the same teacher? I had Ms. Wrenn for 101 and 102, she is the best in what she does. She gives you a study guide for every single test and she tells you exactly what to study for the essay questions. Did I just made an A for not studying? Absolutely not!!! You still have to do your part and do the work. She is the best!!!!

I have never been interested in Biology, until I took this class. This was a great class! If I take bio 102,i will be taking it with her! Take good notes, study, and you will do fine! Seriously.

She is nice. Lecture is easy. Her tests are multiple choice and there is a written part that is easy if you study. For her lab, her quizzes are hard, they're fill-in-the-blank. Study for them like you are studying for a test.

It really does help to have the same lecture and lab teacher especially if it's Ms. Wrenn. She's a great teacher who gives you every chance to pass. Having awesome and highly motivated lab partners really make a difference. Thanks 'A-Team' and Ms. Wrenn!!!!

She is very strutured and I like that. I always used her study guides with my notes to study. No reason for you to get lower than a B. Final exam is all tests combined.

Mrs. Wrenn was very nice and well structured. She would give study guides that pretty much outlined the entire test. Pay attention and take notes. Overall I really enjoyed her class! Just a warning- Do not text, she will fail you.

had her for lab, though she was clear about what she expected us to know and she was very approachable, the lab was just hard. the lab quizzes were hard. but you can earn an A in this class if you do go to the lab during the open hours and u take pictures of what ur learning, you just have to study a lot. but she is a nice professor

MrsWrenn is a great person/teacher and LOVES biology. With that being said, her class is still very hard. She is VERY detailed, more than she needs to be. If you are majoring in Bio then she is the perfect teacher for you because she is so knowledgeable. If you need a science elective your better off taking another professor whos life isnt biology

I love Mrs. Wrenn I took her for lab last semester and I'm taking her again this semester for lecture and lab. I wish she taught 142. No need for the book for lecture she gives handouts and funny to. This professor is the one to take! It's Biology class so it's not super easy, but she makes it not hard! She's so clear all of the test questions are on her notes. She gives out hand outs. Also she gives out study guides for tests! Which NO teacher does!!! She's the best whether it's your elective or major!

Mrs. Wrenn is a great teacher. I had her for lab and lecture in bio.101 and got a very high A in both. The lecture is made up of 4 tests and a final, and her lab is made up of 10 quizzes and two practicals. If u study hard for the tests/quizzes you will ace them and if don't study u will fail.I would highly recommend Mrs Wrennn for bio.101 at tcc.

I like Mrs.Wrenn I can assure u I have good grades and mrs wrenns class kicked my butt Dont listen to anyone who talks about principals list and its soo easy. I promise you I know many Straight A students who have taken her class, studied very hard and got a B. I also know of students who have BA degrees who will tell u for 100 level shes hard.

Great teacher. I had her for lab and lecture, highly recommended! If you fail..its your own fault, if you get less than an A, you werent focused. She gives review sheets for tests (4 and a final). Lab quizzes every week, she tells you what to focus on. Super Super awesome. Take her.

She is the best Biology lecture teacher at TCC hands down. Don't need the book. She gave several extra credit oppurtunities that bumped me up to an A! The lab is more difficult, there are ALOT of models to learn and memorization that she could have went over better. Biology is a difficult subject, yes, so be prepared to study.

Book is NOT needed. She writes all notes on the whiteboard. Attend all of her classes and study, you WILL get an A! She gives study guides. Tests are 40 multiple choice & short answer part. She clarifies what questions will be short answer. You can tell she loves her job through how she teaches. If you fail, it's your own fault. Highly recommended!

If you want to take bio and have an amazing professor, you need to get in this class. She is an amazing professor for lecture AND lab. While you will need to study and attend class for the notes, she gives study guides and is very very clear on what you need to know for her tests. She is very helpful and enthusiastic. This was my first year at TCC and I only took regular biology when I was in high school so I was bit worried of failing but literally, she taught me so many stuff and this class is not just teaching, she actually make us understand the materials. loved the class, enjoyed coming in, and recommend this class to anyone with or without any knowledge.

You have to be present. she willing to drop on exam grade. come to class take your notes study them and you will do well in this class. no cummalative final.

Ms. Wrenn is super intelligent. Everything she writes on the board will be on the test. The tests are half multiple choice, half short-answer. She hands out a study guide before each test, and if you know everything on the study guide, you'll get a 100%. Everything is written clear, and explained very well. HIGHLY recommendable teacher.

Mrs.Wrenn was an awesome professor. She is very interesting, and easy to listen to. Her classes are packed full of information, but like she always said students retain only 20% of what they see and/or hear in class. The other 70% will come with studying and revisting materials. This class is an easy A. However, Professor Wrenn fails when it comes to teaching. Professor Wrenn needs to improve upon engaging her students within the learning content and is unsuccessful with encouraging her students to understand the material. In other words, the lectures are boring and Wrenn focuses on pure memorization.

I had her for BIO 102 lecture. She is absolutely AMAZING! I've heard she's great at teaching lab also! All of the notes she writes on the board are very clear and organized. If you have a question she will answer it. If you attend class and study your notes outlined in the study guide provided, then you will pass the tests with an easy A. :)

I love Ms. Wrenn. She's adorable. You can tell she's passionate about biology. The textbook and lab book that go with the class was written by her. You can tell she is very smart. She lectures and gives out 4 tests (lowest is dropped). Everything on the test is in your notes. If you skip class a lot you'll get behind really easy and won't do well.

Great teacher! She comes off really stern and uptight but she's the sweetest thing. I took her for both lecture and lab. She has tangible examples for everything! If you have questions, she's more than willing to answer them or just chat with you. she's super helpful with dissections. However, her exams are pretty hard. MEMORIZE THE DIAGRAMS!!

Professor Wrenn is absolutely amazing. This class will forge a strong foundation in BIO, she writes all of her notes on the whiteboard and will test you on what she has written. Attendance is mandatory. Chances are the notes you missed out on will be on the test. Earn your grade! So study even if its just for 15 minutes a day.

Amazing professor! I had prof Wrenn for BIO101 & BIO102 lab and lec. Everything on her tests is straight from the notes, so you shouldn't skip class. She reiterates the info so much that its impossible not to get an A. Her lab practicals are difficult because she is unclear about the info that will be on them. I never used the txt book in lecture.

Wrenn is legit for bio. If you can take her for both lab and lecture. She is great for lab and lecture. Lecture Tests are based on class notes and study guide no tricks. She looks out for you if you need help on your work during office hours. I finished the course with an A. Can't get her take sugarmeyer or Frank Trace. The others are not good.

Professor Wrenn knew every student's name by the end of the class. She wrote clear notes and drew diagrams on the whiteboard during lectures for students to copy down, and the 4 tests were based off these. Tests were long - about 70-80 multiple choice questions + a written section, but she dropped the lowest test grade. Would recommend.

I took Ms. Wrenn for both lab and lecture and she made a very hard class easy for me. I was always showing up in her office and asking a lot of questions and she explained everything thoroughly. She is one of the most amazing people I have met, yes the class was hard but I suck at science and got an A. Study guides match the test exactly.

She is the best professor you can take. I took her class over the summer, which makes it more fast paced though that didn't matter since she teaches so well. I would recommend her for bio 101 and 102 along with lab. Just take notes and study those and you'll pass.

Professor Wrenn is a pretty easy teacher. She lays out all of the material for you and everything she lectures on is on the test. She even gives you a study guide. She's a nice lady. I have her for lab and lecture right now. For some reason I find myself studying for her class the most. She gives study guides so you wont get an A unless you truly study it (no skimming). She tells you whats on the lab quizzes and most of the time 90% of the questions are what she said would be on there. Only lab manual needed.

Prof Wrenn is lecture heavy, but her tests are straight from lecture notes/study guide. 4 tests (lowest is dropped), no homework, no extra credit. Only 5-6 people would get A's on the tests. They aren't hard, but you have to study, aka memorize. Bio is memorization. It's "easy" if you put time in it. If you don't then you're wasting your money.

I have had nothing, but bad luck with all my science teachers here at TCC until I took Lisa Wrenn! She is very straight forward, always willing to answer questions, and her lectures are awesome! She covers everything within the class period though, so don't expect to leave early, BUT you won't want to! I am fascinated by her lectures til the end!

I would recommend Wrenn to any student needing to fulfill their BIO101 credit. She is straightforward in lectures and what material will be covered on the tests. Professor Wrenn is a master of organizing notes in a way that makes it easy to get by her tests. That said, Bio is all memorization, so if you don't take the notes to study you will get into trouble. The terms used in the book are different from the notes, so don't miss class. Great teacher, if it weren't for her I wouldn't have done well in lab.

Her lectures are not that interesting but she is very thorough. I took this class over COVID and we only had 4 tests (she drops the lowest). We also only had 2 homework assignments that are super easy. Tests are straight from the notes and you don't have to take extra. Not the most interesting but easy. We didn't use the txtbook but we bought it.

Absolutely AMAZING professor. Although I took this class fully virtual, I can already tell she is an amazing professor. She provides her students ALL the sources they need.
