Esdaile is totally useless and has a chip on her shoulder. The worst class I've ever taken! What a waste.

STAY FAR AWAY She is a pain! You don't really do must in the classroom. She assigns about 3 books to read and we had no assignments. My whole grade depended on one 10pg essay. It was a pain to write as I had to fill the lines with nonsense. She mean, crazy, rude, unhelpful. Thinks she knows it all, and u should be able to read her mind! Never Again

Unclear about homework assignments. Makes it uncomfortable for most students to ask for help because she is so rude and unwelcoming. It is a film class but she talks endlessly during the movie. I took this class because I thought it would be interesting and while it is, it isn't worth tolerating her behavior. Take a different LEH class if you can.

Professor Lise Esdaile is rude and a bit of a snobb. The class is an easy A if you engage in daily class discussions , do blackboard assignments, and 10 page final paper. She stresses over attendance and make sure you are taking notes at all times. If you can do all the work and handle her aggressive snappy attitude you will pass the class.

By far the worst professor Lehman College has.

Professor Esdaile is one of the rudest professors I have had the misfortune of encountering. She stresses qualities in students that she herself does not have; such as organization and preparedness. It is possible to get an A but it is like pulling teeth. She claims that she is treating her students like adults only to avoid helping them.

Honestly, this professor gives me anxiety. I have been taking online classes and have not felt so overwhelmed until this class. Her announcements are super long and mostly her nagging students who don't do the work or are confused. She is very sarcastic and makes you feel as if asking a question is a waste of her time. Don't take her !

If I could give her 0 stars, I would. DO NOT take this professor whatsoever. The amount of anxiety and stress I was under was crazy, I ended up dropping the class. Shes plain out rude, ask her for help and shell make you feel dumb. Shes all over the place with the syllabus and assignments. Didnt grade anything but made us redo our DB posts.

PLEASE AVOID THIS PROFESSOR AT ALL COSTS. Due to the pandemic, this class was only available online- asynchronous. She instated a weekly zoom meeting that did not accommodate anyone's schedule. On top of that, her blackboard was extremely unorganized, no clear direction on assignments, she was rude and condescending. She also did not grade anything

This professor is extremely messy, unorganized and extremely Rude. I ended up dropping her class because of it. Please avoid her if you care about your G.P.A !! Its not worth it. Lehman needs to fire her! She should not be an educator.

She made a lot of people redo their assignments on blackboard and is a tough grader. Were in a pandemic but she's making us write a 10 page paper for our final and her syllabus is the opposite of what she post. I don't like how she talk to others as if she's their parent or boss. I told her I had a dead family member to make up the work she said no

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR AT ALL!! I had her fall 2020 and she barely posted anything and when she did she barely responded to what was posted and sometimes took things down. Her feedback was not encouraging making you feel small in a way. Find you a supportive professor that will work with you and help you out because it's not this one.

Honestly in all 4 years of my undergrad year, Professor Lise was by far the WORST educator I have ever came across. She is disorganized, unclear and down right rude. Shell minimize you at every opportunity she has. The ENTIRE semester was miserable under her teachings. I truly hope she comes across these rates and genuinely consider retiring.

I took this class online and this teacher was terrible. She never gave feedback on anything we did in the class which defeats the purpose of a writing class. The only feedback was that we must use MLA formatting which she constantly repeated. You also have to practically guess what your grade will be. Very condescending for an elective teacher.

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT register for her class. I ended up dropping the class halfway through the semester. She comes off as rude when you ask for help or clarification. She never followed the syllabus, she just randomly added lengthy assignments and NEVER graded them. The whole class was completely lost and more than half dropped it.

I don't recommend anyone taking her. She is just so rude to students whenever they ask questions to clarify one of the assignments and she also gives them attitude too. She acts as if we are supposed to know what she wants for every assignment, and very unorganized with her blackboard.

Do not take this professor. Comes off rude when asking questions like we should already know what were doing. Doesnt grade anything. Not organized. Goes of on random tangents that have nothing to do with the class. Wouldnt recommend to anyone.

This professor is very disorganized and always unprepared. It was awful having her online as well because she'd expect us to answer her quickly and doesn't understand internet lag. The only reason she has 5 ratings is that she is so disorganized, she barely assigns work. But Seriously avoid taking her if you can!

I highly suggest you stay clear of this professor. She retaliated against students who complained about her and gave them F's. She does not grade anything and you will only know your grade when you see it on CUNYfirst. She has favoritism and if you're not on that list, good luck receiving useful help from her. Disorganized, disrespectful, halfway through semester and no grade. RUN AWAY DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THIS PROFESSOR.

Shes a mean person tbh, shes condescending and rude. She expects a response as soon as the question is out of her mouth. She is unorganized and makes assignments up on the spot. None of our assignments have been graded, we have 1 final paper left in the semester and no one in class has an inkling of our grade. I get bad anxiety from a 2h45min zoom!

Lots of readings it's ridiculous to be telling students to read so much when she doesn't even incorporate the readings into the assignments given (we had to do two essays, scary to think about since we never received the first essay grade)I believe she is a tough grader and places very hard and confusing material. tbh never prepared, don't take...

We read a lot so when we have zoom meetings, it's draining. She will ask questions and expect an immediate response but how? Students have read so much of course it may take a little while to formulate these thoughts. No way she demands when we read dozens of pages so de lu sional.

glad i'm done with this class ben stressing the whole time professor can be a snob and act funny with you if need clarity or even complain a bit it's hard because English is not my first language so a student should have a right to ask, she is the one making it hard to understand too. also makes up the assignments during class is not professional

Assigns so much readings every week

This professor is awful. I don't recommend you take her class. I took her fall semester for LEH 353 and we meet on Zoom every Thursday. One week we spent 30 minutes waiting for her to let us into the class just to find out she wasn't in that day. She only made us write two essays and never gave us our grades. I wish I could write more about her.

Professor Lise is so unprofessional. I practically struggled getting through this semester because she was never on task with what she assigned. She would consistently change or add to assignments. Frustrating and baffling.

I managed to get an A but at what expense? She made it very difficult to get through. Not organized and makes you read so much it's unrealistic! She calls on students and you have to make sure you know the answers quickly. Unprofessional too bc the class saw her argue with students when it was the professors fault. Don't bother to speak up.

I don't even know where to start. Don't get me wrong, Professor Esdaile is a caring, funny professor. But my god is this class so unorganized. She makes up assignments on the spot and at times doesn't follow the syllabus. There is barely any structure to this class and she doesn't even post grades on blackboard. Do not recommend at all.

I remember taking this course and it was a nightmare. I would highly recommend skipping this course. Professor Esdaile is very condensing, and altogether just rude. If you send her an email, she responds in a rude manner and if she calls on you, she expects a quick and accurate response. She is very unorganized and would go off topic often.

In terms of grading, it was evident this professor struggled to provide timely feedback, which left many students anxious about their progress. Grading rubrics were often unclear, making it hard to know how to earn a good grade/expectations. Her communication skills were vague so one could not grasp the main points of her given assignments.

I'd take some classes over because I enjoyed them so much. For this one, I wish I would have walked out the class and gone to a different class. The way she'd run her class felt like gossip time with the girls. She disappointed me every time.

She is honestly the worst professor I have ever had. She is rude, very very VERY unorganized, encourages class participation yet interrupts every 5 seconds when a student is trying to speak. She always talks about our grades and how some of us have to watch out, yet she's never posted our grades and the semester is over in a week. DO NOT TAKE HER.

She is a very rude professor and is very aware on how rude she is. She likes to add textbook/books that's not on the syllabus. The class itself is very important and knowledgeable. You just have to take it with another professor. She also likes to gaslight her students when they participate. I should've listened to the other reviews!

This professor isn't the best professor. She has only graded one discussion board the whole semester. Professor Esdaile spends 40 minutes of the beginning of class talking about a whole bunch of nothing. So, by the time you actually start doing something. You are already drained and want the class to end.
