I throughly enjoyed this class. Not the easiest, but mifsud keeps it interesting. She tells great stories and can be very funny.
Really intelligent woman. Definately knows her stuff. If you go to class and take good notes there is no reason you can't pull a decent grade.
Good and funny teacher

I have not even finished the course but I like the way she teaches already, she is very understanding and will help you if you need it!! =D
Great Teacher!!!!!!
awesomeness!!! i really liked her she was SUPER clear on what she wanted you to know!!!!!!!!! she's really funny in a geeky kind of way and i LOVE to have a class with her again! ATTENDANCE is a good idea. most her her test questions are from the lecture.
Great teacher!!! She is very orginized, has her own web site which has the syllabus and all the study guides(yes she gives out study guides, which means you shoud get an A on tests) FUN CLASS, if you are interested in Physical Anthropology. Attendance is very important, lecture notes are very important in passing her tests. Overall GREAT TEACHER
Very funny, and interesting lectures. Class is always interesting, and her stories are hilarious.
The hardest test taker I've had in 4 states of community college service, but wonderful...she IS the smartest person in her classrooms and a powerful, attractive woman as well. Good luck!
very interesting and fun class. its very hard, but the only reason i make myself go to class is so i can go to here class. she is very funny, and if you ask for help she'll give it.
She is an inspiring teacher and really knows her stuff. Going to class will ensure you pass, tests are not too hard, but studying is necessary. Easily the best class I've taken in Anthro.
I love Dr. Mifsud. She is so perfectly organized, my notes were beautiful. Classes were facinating. She seemed to know everything, and our class would often ask her other-subject questions out of curiosity. The final in the forensic anthro class was probably the hardest test I've ever taken. Take her classes if you want to work hard and have fun.
She's a fun teacher, but her tests are killer! I've had her for 3 classes. I love her teaching style, but her tests are unnecessarily hard and questions can seem obscure and irrelevant to the course.
She's an awesome teacher. Prior to her class I had barely any interst in Anthropology and now it is my major. I highly recommend her classes, even if they are a bit of a challenge. They are worth it 100%!!!
She is a really nice person and extremely easy to understand. Tests are hard, but not impossible. Extra credit possibility in the 203 course. Read Victims of Progress in 203 and I personally loved it, amazing book for the class. Other then that, really easy to sit through class most of the time and just generally a good teacher. *Shes NOT a Dr.*
I am so happy I took this course. I was expecting the subject to be difficult to learn. Mifsud had such good lectures I didn't study more than 1 hour for 2 midterms and the final. Got A's. Xtra-cred is 10 points. There is an 11 page paper. It's not MLA. Just answer 10 questions which you can turn in early and she returns for re-writes for an A.
One of the most passionate teachers I have ever had. it is mandatory to go to class because all tests are based from the notes and the tests are difficult but the material is interesting, the teacher is energetic and I loved this class.Physical Anthropology rocked.
She makes a difficult subject very accessible. I found out that I really don't have a huge interest in physical anthropology, but she keeps the class interested and entertained with her (sometimes) corny (yet somehow relevant) jokes, and humerus stories from her anthropological life.
I have to admit, she is entertaining but by far the most difficult class I've ever taken. I attended every class and took notes on almost every word, however, she only gives you 3 mid terms and she will give you a study guide but this one time i studied my ass off and nothing on the study guide was on the test!
awkwardly funny and so passionate! i changed my major to anthropology because of this class. pay attention and take excellent notes!
Great teacher. One thing I didn't like...this one unit class is a ton of work! Has the makings of a 3 unit course, in my opinion.
All in all she's a pretty cool teacher, but not the greatest. Her lectures are kinda sporadic and disorganized. You MUST do the reading from the book because her lectures can be pretty different from the reading and the tests go off of both. Gives a couple EC assignments, non-comprehensive final, no homework. 10 page paper on a boring book as well.
I took her 8am anthro. 225 class. I went every class because the information was VERY interesting. She is passionate about her teaching and is very willing to help. Read read the book and study like crazy for the tests because they are most of your grade. ten page paper was not too hard, but took lots of time. Great teacher!!
I took the Lab class thinking it would be an easy unit class to add to an already busy schedule... Bad move!! This class is easily as hard as a three unit class and takes a ton of time to study for. It is a cool class but, keep in mind it is NOT easy. Tons of memorization of totally abstractly named bones and no word banks on tests spelling counts
The class is interesting, but it seems like just a bunch of memorization for three scantron tests. It could be a better class if it consisted of more than just note taking and regurgitation of a bunch of dates and various sites.I did not retain anything. I memorized some dates but im at a loss for the concepts.SCANTRONS are useless for learning...
Although the class was much harder than I expected, Lise Mifsud has a great passion for what she teaches and loves what she does. She tells funny personal stories and has a very upbeat and positive attitude. I found the class material to be a bit on the boring side w/ alot of memorization of dates, but she made the class bearable for me.
She does not require you to go to class, but it is essential that you do to get notes. You are better off if you know someone in the class or get to know someone so if you do miss a day, notes are easily obtained. Her tests are very specific and difficult, and that is a huge part of your grade. GL!
Don't let her goofy personality fool you. Her 1st test hit me like 1200 lbs. Gigantopithecus blackii. Despite the difficult tests though, she's really cool, super clear and willing to help a student. Taking notes is essential in this class, and reviewing daily isn't a bad idea. Although the material was a bit fragmented, it's very interesting.
Very fun teacher, I never wanted to miss a class! Very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject and tells hilarious stories! Her tests can be harder than you expect them to be, so review your notes well and be sure to take good notes on the reading too!
I'm pretty good at science but failed miserably on the first test. Being as impartial as possible; the notes were extensive but interesting. Lectures have tendencies to jump around. Most of the material on the test was in the book. She's interesting and enthusiastic about the subject. I'd recommend reading every word in the book...
DO NOT take her if your not good at tests... thats all there was. We had 2 papers and 3 exams so if you fail the first one your basically screwed. Ya... I get that she loves her job but her ways of teaching are confusing and only she can understand them. Her study guides were way to broad to really be helpful.
Way harder than I thought, but she is so much fun & has unlimited energy! She's always happy! Tells funny stories & is very intelligent. Loves what she teaches. Got a great grade, but it was a TON of work. Detailed notes are really important. Save the lab for another class. Would definitely take her class(es) again!
By far the best teacher at Cuesta. I took her 201 and 203 and they were both really interesting and fun. Her classes were my favorite, and she is a really great teacher!!
AWSOME lady. really fun and makes the information very clear and memorable!
Prof. Mifusd is an amazing professor! she inspired me to change my major to anthropology! i fell in love with the subject!
I loved this class! I'm not going to lie,the information was a little hard to grasp but if you ever have problems she is super willing to help! Great atmosphere, great teacher! Study your butt off and you'll get a decent grade!
This class is challenging if you do not take copious notes and study. Mifsud is a brilliant teacher who is a complete nerd (in a good way) for anthropology. If you attend class (even though you are not required) and do the simple extra credit assignments you will succeed. Mifsud truly cares for her students, but will be tough on those who slack off
Very nice teacher and a fairly easy class. Just keep on top the report and study for the tests (which are all multiple choice).
Enthusiastic, informative, helpful, and eccentric teacher. Lectures are very well prepared and always interesting. I took the Lab as well, which is quite a lot of work, but you will learn a lot if you do it. Good balance of text and lectures on tests.
SHE IS AMAZING. One of the best teachers I have ever had. Super sweet, clear, helpful and knows her stuff. She wants to see her students do well.
She knows her stuff! She is willing to help, as long as you ask for it. Tests are very hard. Especially the 2nd mid-term! Overall, great professor!
Awesome class! Prof Misfud is very energetic, a complete nerd for anthro, tells funny stories, makes class fun & interesting, passionate & adorable personality! 3 exams, 1 10-pg paper & some extra credit. Lots of material to absorb and exams are much harder than you'd think, so DON'T MISS CLASS and TAKE THOROUGH NOTES! Loves squirrels haha
Professor Mifsud definitely knows her stuff! She is a fantastic teacher, even if you're struggling but you're trying your best, she will cut you a break. She honestly wants her students to succeed! Use the study guides, take notes, and do NOT text in her class. Ever.
This class was interesting and fun at times, but the tests are unnecessarily difficult. You have to go to class every day and have to memorize too much information. I would not recommend this class to freshmen. I'm a "A" student and got a C in the class and worked really hard to get that grade. Most people failed their tests.
Awsome, intelligent, helpful, fun, nerdy, energetic. she makes learning fun and is the true ideal for a college professor.
There isn't much you can take away from this class. It was not interactive or inspiring at all. You take three tests on unnecessarily specific facts that were lightly covered in either lecture or the text. In each lecture, you copy each of her powerpoint slides, as they have notes on them. Unless you like history, stay away. I ran out of characters
Professor Mifsud is one of the best teachers!!! shes hard as all hell but thats because she has a passion for what she teaches. Very knowledgable and fun and energetic! love love love!!! I have taken all of her classes! and yes it is possible to pass her tests! its called studying. Its college you gotta do some work DUHHH!
I am an A student and I got a C in the class. She is really high energy, nice, and funny, but if you do not need this class DO NOT take it. It is NOT an easy A!!!!
Overall great teacher and person, but the lab class is super hard. I am an A student that barely passed. It is way too much material for a one credit class. If you are willing to work really really hard and you are interested in the subject, then take it. IF YOU DO NOT NEED IT DO NOT TAKE IT!!! NOT AN EASY A!!!
BEST TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD. She's so much fun. People say she's hard, but she really isn't, the subject is hard. Her tests aren't tricky, you just have to really know the information and show up to class. And her study guides tell you exactly what's on the tests.
Plus the lab. This class is not one that you can slack off with. It requires a lot of studying and can be very difficult. Misfud knows this and does her best to help you. I have the greatest respect for her, but I am so happy I got this class over with. Actually put effort into this class, and you will pass!!
Mifsud is AWESOME. Knows her stuff and happy to share what she knows. Very passionate about her subject and her job. Doesn't take garbage off of anyone and will put people in their place. Loved the class and adore this instructor!
Prof Mifsud is hands down the best professor I have ever had. Her enthusiasm for anthropology is truly contagious and shines through in every single lecture. She makes everyone's input seem worthwhile and I genuinely enjoyed studying for her class even though I'm not an anth major. I'm just wondering why she's teaching at a CC and not Berkley.
She is super passionate about what she does and loves sharing it her lectures are fun and fulfilling. She doesnt offer any EC or HW and strongly relies on the four tests you take to grade. So go to class take good notes and read the book, you will pass. She is willing to share anything and everything about the subject you just have to ask!
Mifsud is an amazing teacher. She's passionate about anthro and it shows in every lecture. This is NOT a class you can pass without putting in effort, but she gives very detailed study guides that help a ton. She makes her lectures super fun and is willing to answer all questions. Basically, she's the best.
Mifsud knows her stuff. She's happy to share what she knows. She makes subject relevant to real world events. Fun but takes no crap. She demands the best from her students and cuts no slack for slackers. If you want an easy A - this class is not for you. Expectations are clearly communicated. Wish more professors were like her!
Great women. She is amazing but I hated this class. I took it thinking it would be an easy A and I was so wrong. Tests are very specific and her lectures are long and usually full of off topic side stories. She loves what she does and wants others to take it serious which ended up having the opposite effect on me. It was a bad experience#GPAdropper
Super knowledgeable and passionate teacher that will go out of her way to help you. You do have to put in effort, but nothing remotely unreasonable is demanded. Every bad review is from people trying to skate by on easy classes, people that will not be making it very far after transferring.
Mifsud is amazing!! She's so passionate about anthropology and it made my first experience with the subject unforgettable! Beware though, the tests are tough and there is a lot of note taking but it is such an interesting subject that I did not mind at all. Planning on taking more classes from her, she makes it fun!!
Excellent instructor!
Lise Mifsud is a very energetic professor with hands-on experience in her field. She may be my favorite teacher at Cuesta because of the combination of knowledge, humor and care that she puts into her class. Be prepared to read; If you find the subject interesting, it will be very rewarding. She enjoys telling stories as they relate to lecture.
Professor Mifsud is so incredible! She makes lectures so hilarious and is absolutely sure that everyone has what they need to succeed. There are only three tests and one writing assignment due at the end of the semester. Super fun class and I learned so much.
I went to her office hours at least once a week or two. She was so willing to help me. She also has amazing stories that regard to the information. Read the textbook!!!!!! This class is not a walk in the park. There is a lot of memorizing involved, but she gives a study guide. I recommend her 100%.
she is the best
This teacher is great, she's very entertaining. She clearly loves her work and will inspire you! Make sure you go to class and get the notes, the exams are very specific and fairly difficult. You will have to read, but the books you get to choose and are really interesting. Fun atmosphere in the class, I recommend it if you love animals and fossils
If you are looking for a class that is easier than BIO this is not it. Lise cares way too much about her ego to even give you a break. There is way too much information to be able to memorize and prepare for this class. The study guides usually have nothing to do with the tests. To be able to pass make sure you love chimps and everything about them
I do NOT RECOMMEND this class UNLESS you are majoring in Anthropology. I took both the anthro intro and lab. This class requires far too much effort and time for just credits. Mifsud is a great teacher, but goes into far too much detail, making her tests difficult. The lab has weekly quizzes, and will doc your grade at the slightest inaccuracy.
If you're looking for an easy class to take instead of BIO don't take this class. Mifsud is great but she makes this class very difficult. Plus study guide is in no way helpful.
Funniest class, she is super quirky and has so many stories to tell. DOES NOT like phones in class. If she catches you with a phone during a lecture you will surely be called out. It's more because she cares that you learn, which you should focus on because her tests mirror directly to what is taught on in her lectures. The tutoring really helps
Mifsud is passionate about the subjects she teaches and is willing to help each student succeed. This course is interesting, entertaining, and inspirational, however, it requires serious effort for those who wish to earn an A. The grade you earn is determined by three midterms and a book report, so attendance and much studying is essential.
Fun class! Lise is very educated and knows her stuff! She stays up to date with the newest scientific data. You have one big paper plus tests to get credit so you have to study for the tests. I would take her again.
I've taken every class Professor Mifsud teaches. She's the best professor I've ever had, I adore her. Her classes are not easy, you will have to work for a good grade. There's a paper due at the end of the semester & three exams. She knows what she's talking about & will go out of her way to help you. If you like anthro, she's your gal.
The lectures are really interesting, it's like storytime for adults. She obviously loves her subject and will research anything you ask her that she can't answer right away. Her testing is very straightforward, do the reading and take notes in lecture. She gives amazing study guides that are exact questions on the test. She gives extra credit.
Class was way harder than I anticipated and I barely passed, but she's an awesome professor. Just stay on top of the reading and attend her lectures. She's a great lecturer, very funny, and she's hot. I'd take another class with her, despite the difficulty.
Class was way harder than I expected... I do not recommend any of her classes if you are not an anthropology major. She is nice and has great lectures, but the class is not an easy A. The lectures are nice but her tests are way harder than what they should be.
I love professor Mifsud. Shes extremely passionate about what she teaches and is funny&energetic making the class anything but boring. Her lectures are organized and easy to follow, and she always has fun stories or bits of information to share. As far as the workload goes: yes, you have to read and study and put in the effort but its rewarding!
Excellent teacher for the California Indians course. She's passionate about anthropology which makes for a better, more interesting class. There is rarely any homework, and few quizzes and tests. So, study and you will do fine. Highly recommended. Cuesta is lucky to have her.
Such a sweetheart. She is really into what shes teaching and very concise during lectures. You have to pay attention to the whole lecture but she doesn't make it hard since she is funny. The first test shocked me because it was hard, once I realized all I needed to do was look over the study guide, the tests were doable. Recommended for any major!
The sweetest and funniest professor I've ever had. She's so knowledgeable and it's easy to follow her lectures. As long as you take the time to study the study guide and take good notes you should pass. It took me the shock of how hard the first test was to realize this but once I did the class was enjoyable. Hardest and best class I've ever taken.
If this is not your major take this and do a P/No pass. Class and information was awesome, I really enjoyed it and the Prof is so passionate about the information that it's hard not to find interesting. But there is so much information covered and new vocab that you need to know in order to ace the tests. For this reason I really struggled.
Ive taken Mifsud for both my ANTH 201 & ANTH 201L classes and have loved every moment of them, because you can tell shes passionate about Anthropology. Its definitely a class you have to be ready to put work in, so unless the subject interests you or you have amazing work ethic I wouldnt recommend it.
Dont take if youre not an anthropology major or if youre taking a lot of other hard classes. By far the hardest class i took at cuesta. She is amazing with her lectures but her tests are insanely hard and no amount of studying could prepare you.
THIS CLASS IS REALLY DIFFICULT but with that being said, I really enjoyed it. Lise is so fun and passionate which makes class enjoyable. Her tests are extremely hard and require a lot of studying, but she tells you what she expects you to know. Grade consists of 3 tests & 1 paper. Not an easy A, but a rewarding A. I would absolutely take her again.
Amazing professor, amazing method. If you rely on notes and attendance for an A, this class will trip you up. Read the book, embrace the lecture and top marks are doable. 10 pts EC after first test, and 1/4 course credit is a write you can submit early for tips on revision. Generous and fair. She inspires and rewards your interest .
I took anthropology as a general ed required class but it turned out to be my favorite class I've taken at Cuesta! Mifsud is very passionate and knowledgeable about what she teaches, her energy and excitement is infectious. The subject matter is somewhat difficult but you'll learn a lot. Definitely recommend taking her class
The most phenomenal professor I have ever had. Mifsud is extremely enthusiastic and passionate about what she teaches. There is a lot of memorization - don't skimp on studying and don't miss class (you'll miss crucial lectures and visual aids), study your notes (the tests are hard & very specific but exact info from her lectures & study guides).
On a power trip as a lecturer. Seems interested in students but wants to move on always to get through her lecture. Tough tests. Be prepared to read a lot and take good notes. Very professional to a fault. Would take her again.
I have taken Prof Mifsud for 3 classes and I think she is amazing. She is clearly passionate about what she does. Her exams are tough but she provides clear study guides, and all of the information is in her lectures or in the textbook. Even at 8 am her lectures are engaging and thought provoking. She has a great sense of humor also!
Being an A student all of my life, let me tell you that this is the worst class I have ever taken. Lise does not teach well and its mostly based on memorization. All the tests are super hard and very challenging. The only thing you do every class is copy the lecture down. This class that WILL drop your gpa
I understand how some may find Professor Mifsuds classes tough. You do have to attend most if not all lectures and retain a large (not vast) amount of information. Taking notes is a must as these form the majority of exam questions. Having said that she makes the classes enjoyable and accessible, just a great teacher in the true sense of the word
Mifsud is great. Absolutely fantastic. The class? Well, let's just say I've been a straight A student my whole life and I have a 63 right now. Professor Mifsud is fun, easy to talk to, and ready to help you, but if you're looking for an easy lab credit, this is NOT the class you want to take. If I were rating strictly the class I'd give it a 2/10.
She is one of the most interesting teachers I've had, and I truly feel I learned a lot, but the sheer volume of information I had to memorize was more than I have ever experienced. I think it's very common for even straight A students to struggle immensely. She's honestly so sweet, energetic and funny, but if you care about your GPA, don't take it.
Avoid at all costs. Horrible teacher, unhelpful, disrespectful to students, arrogant, awful communication about assignment specifics and then blames you for it, doesn't post any material, and tests are absurdly difficult for an INTRO/3 credit class. Study guides are 12+ pages and nearly useless. 4.0 for 3 semesters before I took this instructor.
She seems like a good person, just a really tough teacher and her tests are insane.
She is very passionate about teaching and does a really good job preparing her lectures. The tests were the most difficult part, study the lecture notes heavily and the terms in the book from the study guide. You also have to do Ethnography papers which are easier if you start early on them because if you turn them in early she gives you feedback.
Very passionate teacher with interesting lectures. I would suggest not missing a single class of hers, make sure to start your semester-long assignments early, read and record anything written on the board, and study hard. Her class isn't easy, but it's worth it.
So if you need a lab class and youre not an anthropology major skip this class. It is an amazing bombardment of information, wrapped up as a single unit. Wonderfully entertaining and incredibly difficult. Mifsud manages to take even the most benign of subjects and creates amazing learning opportunities.
Whelp u pay for what u get. Want to breeze thro college? Want waste your time and money? Then skip this amazing, funny and encouraging teacher. Sure u may learn some stuff u didnt already know. Shock. U paid for that, right? She tells u right from the get go what u need to do. If u r lazy and want easy As find another venue :)-
You couldn't pay me to take this class again; seriously avoid if you care about your sanity or your GPA. For an Intro Class, the exams are incredibly difficult and require ridiculous amounts of memorization. If you don't dedicate your life to this class you will most likely fail. If you just need the credit, find an easier science or skip Mifsud.
Great person with interesting lectures and a good sense of humor. No homework assignments, grade based solely on 3 tests and one essay. Study guides nor lecture notes did not align with the material presented in the tests. If you decide to take this class be prepared to study the required text and memorize material.
LOVE her she is an amazing down to earth teacher but if you dont try you will fail. Just do the study guide and youll be fine.
I just finished the final for Cultural Anth. Fall 2019. Yes she is difficult, but not impossible; I made the "mistake" of taking her course my first semester of college, however the challenge was well worth it. (BTW i'm not typically an A student, yet just got an A on the final).
If you're taking anthropology 201 because you think it'll be easier than biology, just take biology. Mifsud's classes are difficult but if you complete the study guide you should be fine. The only grades in this class are the tests so you have to review the information. Mifsud is also is pretty rude so be careful.
It was an absolute pleasure learning with Mifsud. She is passionate about Anthropology and makes it very interesting. You wont want to miss class, not just because the course is note heavy, but because each class covers totally new information. You will need to study and work for a good grade but I promise this class is worth it!
I took her physical anthro class for credits and I loved it so I decided to take the Cultural Anthro class and loved that as well, then I took the California Indians class and loved it as well. She loves teaching and it shows. Almost all of her classes are graded by 3 tests and 1 project, but if you take notes in class you do just fine if you study
Prof. Mifsud is one of the most amazing professors every. She is just a ball of loving energy and absolutely loves what she does. She is so knowledgeable of anthropology and really cares for all of her students. The only thing Id have to say that is negative is ALOT of memorization. Its only a 1 credit class but definitely 3 credit workload.
I almost switched my major to Anthropology because of how much I love this professor. Lise is a stand up woman who walks with integrity. Every sentence she speaks is worded with intention. Her lectures include visual, auditory, read/write and kinesthetic learning styles. She is very easy to hear and understand. I highly recommend her classes!
Professor Mifsud is a nice teacher, do not go on your phone during class, she will tell you this. My class was transitioned to online during the COVID-19 Pandemic and Professor Mifsud did not make it easy. Her lectures were long and her tests were incredibly difficult due to a time limit and many of the questions were difficult in true/false format
This professor did not adjust well to online learning.
Mifsud is a wonderful teacher, in-person and online! Her online format has an informative lecture video each week, and a clear study guide for exams. The class is graded by three exams and a book report. The exams are challenging but definitely fine if you just make sure to study! I recommend taking a class from her as you will learn so much.
Her lectures make anthropology a really interesting subject to learn, especially for this survey class. She tells you exactly what you need to know for her exams and also creates a study guide for you to follow for each exam. There is no homework or"busywork" for this class, only weekly lectures and a book report which I really enjoyed.
The lectures were enjoyable and funny! It was hard as I am an engineering major and memorizing does not work well for me, but prof Mifsud makes the lectures funny, intriguing, and interesting. Class consists of 3 tests and a book report, the report sounds scary but there are book choices and you would not regret reading as it all ties to lectures
3 exams (non-cumulative) and a book report. Read the textbook. Attending class is really important, and take notes of everything on the slides. She is really inspirational and has funny stories, really making this subject come alive. You can tell she loves anth and it can rub off on you. Yes, this class can be a challenge, but its so rewarding!
Funny, Passionate Professor. Loong Lectures--1hr and 50 mins is the longest, but you will be pausing to take notes, so make that 2 hours. Average reading for a college class. Midterm/Final question time given too short and Uses videos w/ bad camera angles. hated taking those test. this would be a better in person class. Class takes up A LOT of time
Super lecture heavy, up to 3 hours per week (about 1 h on average). Graded on just 2 midterms, 1 final and 1 book report. Take lots of notes, the tests are not easy. On lectures she'll deviate from the content for a while, I played them at 2x speed on YT to save time. She's passionate and knows her stuff. Good amount of extra credit available.
great teacher
Best professor of my college days.
Online lectures felt like I was in class she's funny and makes the lectures understandable she knows her stuff. Make sure to keep up with lectures and readings. No homework are assigned but she does give out a book report due a month before the semester ends based on reading a book she assigns. Amazing class
Professor Misfud expects you to know your information, however, she truly is passionate about her content. Lectures are admittedly long but very interesting. The grading is a bit difficult because it is all based on midterms and one book report, but if you take great notes and do the exam study guide you will have no problem.
Every bit of loving work that I put into Professor Mifsud's amazing course has paid off. She is warm and funny and her lectures are rich and orderly. Take detailed notes and complete extra credit work offered. This is the second class that I have taken from her and I haven't had a better professor in college or university. Highly recommend.
My favorite professor I've had so far. You can tell she's passionate about her job when she lectures. I like her enthusiasm and humor, because it made the class more enjoyable. Though sometimes we had long lectures, she gave study guides which helped me A TON. Was bummed I couldn't take her this semester. I definitely recommend!
I had Lise Mifsud for multiple classes during my 2 years at Cuesta and she was amazing. She was helpful inside and outside of the classroom and always went the extra mile to help her students. I am happy that I took her classes as an anthropology major now that I am at a major university where I apply what she has taught me to other classes.
Wonderful teacher and wonderful human being. I had to take Anth for bio credit and ended up loving the class because Prof Mifsud is so passionate about it. Definitely take the Lab class too, it's difficult and there are a lot of quizzes but it's my favorite class I've taken here. If you don't mind a bit of studying her classes are great!
Professor Mifsud makes Anthropology fascinating. Her lectures are engaging, but the course requires diligent studying. Unstuck AI was invaluable for preparing for exams alongside the textbook.
Super sweet, can tell she is passionate about the subject. My online course was graded up 2 test 1 final and 1 big assignment, I would highly recommend this teacher if u are interested in the subject.
This professor is one of my favorites so far. There is a full book report, so be ready for that. It is lecture-heavy, but they are informative and engaging (also integral to the exams, so make sure to take notes). Overall, she is a wonderful, passionate, kind professor and makes me wish I were getting an ANTH degree so I could take all her classes.
Mifsud is clearly passionate about this subject. She grades strictly based on the exams, the end-of-semester book report, and a few extra credit opportunities. All in all, she has been my favorite teacher thus far at Cuesta; she makes everyone feel included and is generally a fun presence to be around. I could not recommend her enough.
You only have 5 changes to influence your grade. Three exams, an essay, and an extra credit assignment. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. I had a 4.0 as a senior in college. After her class, I will never have a 4.0 ever again. I hate her and this class.
Lectures are dense w/ info so you NEED to keep up with them + take notes. However, she's extremely passionate, knowledgeable, well-spoken, warm, and funny, so lectures were easy to get through and never boring. 3 noncumulative exams, a book report, and 1-3 extra credits. Exams are multiple choice and ask for specifics straight from lectures.
10-page BOOK REPORT! Open from Jan-May and is worth 25%. Has very few assignments so if you dont do so good during an exam good luck trying to get your grade back up. There are very few extra credit opportunities worth 5 points as exams 100pts. 3 exams, multiple choice, and the 10pg book report. Video lectures are 1 hour- 40mins long each.
