I love this teacher! She is kind, caring and helpful. She even speaks fluent Spanish and really helps us bi-liguel students. I have taken both political science from her and communication studies and find her personality really warm and interesting. She is well educated, down to earth and knows her stuff. I wish I could take more.

I am a katrina evacuee and not only did this teacher help me as a student, she gave me names of places to go get help for my family, as we had to live in a motel and had no food or furniture. She has a kind heart and does more then just teach us.

Ms. Wyman is really great. I took her at CCSN/UNLV for POS & COM classes. Guess I am a groupie,lol. She is interesting, fun, caring and keeps it real. She takes time to help you if you need it. She makes class funny even when the subject is boring at times. She is a fair grader. Test are hard if you dont read the book. Wish I could take her again!

I just graduated and want to thank this lady for all her help. I am an older student. She goes that extra mile and expects students to act like adults. She makes us laugh with her sense of humor which took the stress off the speaking. I got a B but deserved it as I missed lots of classes cause of my job. I like she speaks Spanish too.

I am in this class now and enjoy the light hearted way Ms. W. teaches. She makes class fun and makes me laugh. Thats good when we have to give 4 speeches and have anxiety. It makes it easier. The lady jokes alot but she is strict too. I guess she needs to be as some students need it. I would suggest her as a good instructor! So far so good. :-)

I have taken speech before but like THIS profesor. CSN has a strict attencence policy I don't like that but I found out all the teachers at the department enforce it.she makes you laugh and remember the material. It seems you have to be on time with projects or lose points.

I am in her class now. I take it on base and am in the military. She is so helpful to us here. What I like is Wyman makes the class fun and keeps it going for the 3 hours. Very nice person. Grades consist of 4 speech outlines, 4 speeches, a mid-term, and a final. Very clear on what she wants out of outlines and speeches. Hardly goes over test material just gives chapters in book. Fairly easy tests, I didn't study at all for the final and got a C. May grade on a curve to help you out. Does some extra credit as well.

I was afraid 2 take speech. She made it fun with group activities that helped me get over my fears. Public Speaking does not freak me out no more. I did not think I would like this class but it is my favorite! I like how she teaches with stories and humor that help you remember things instead of dry/boring like other profs.

She gives inititives to help you overcome your fears.She brings snacks for us sometimes on holidays. She is like teachers from the old days because she cares about you and you can tell she likes what she does, after many years of teaching.

Ms. Wyman is a great teacher, and makes an otherwise unbearable class fun. But dont let her laid back style fool you, the mid-term and final are based all on book material and they are NOT easy.Other than that, she is very fair on her grading.

I LOVED HER....she was super funny....she made class reaallly fun...and had jokes...but dont piss her off...lol....had time to do your speeches...make sure you do them...thats most of the grade...the tests are by the book so make sure you study...would most deff take her again...i recomend her..

I like her because she is organized. She explains concepts well. She checked with the students to make sure they understand the material. I like the fact that she has a lot of experience in politics. When she shares the information to make a point it helps me to understand the material. I had to take this class before from another instructor and it was very dry because I'm not interested in it. But when she teaches it she brings the class to life.

How wonderful to have an instructor that worked in the field she actually teaches. Her personal stories as they relate to the material, bring the text book to life for those of us that are taking this as a required course. Ms. Wyman is professional. I like how she mixes group projects, films that are educational, lecture and guest speakers. It makes class interesting. With her political backgroud, she enlightends the class with real life situations that help students relate to the text contents. It helps because it is easier to understand with her stories.

I am really enjoying Wymans class. I am in it now and like the way she teaches. She is not like any others I have had and makes class easy and understandable! She has stayed late to help me with my assignments. She was an elected official and lobbyist so she knows how politics works practically! She reviews for all exams.

She does not allow students to text, play on the computer and goof off in class. She will call you out on it. I like that though as she maintains control of the class. She wants you to learn and cares.

Just do your work and be prepared. She sees thru BS. She will go out of her way to help you. She speaks Spanish which is cool for us foreign students. She can be strict but in a helpful way. She explains all the chapters in the readings well and handouts. Really tries to help you excel. Obnoxious students wont like her as she expects respect.

Otherwise, how can you realistically follow. She won't baby you as she expects college level behavior, not jr. high behavior. She incorporates real life examples with the readings, which helps.

I dreaded taking this class because I'm a medical student and didn't really see the need for political science but it is required. I enjoy this class because it made me think about my own life and how politics really affects me. you do need to read the chapters every week and stay on top of it because she has class discussions on it .Great teacher.

If you read the chapters each week, participate in class discussions, pay attention, put away your cell phone and not text in class, you will do great! Don't take naps on ur desk or talk when she is talking as she is old school and expects respect of herself and to other students. I liked it though. She gives great study guides 4 tests too!

I am a student from Mexico and I appreciated the fact that she spoke Spanish because she took time to help me with words I didn't understand. My english isn't perfect so I like the fact she helps the Mexican students like myself.

I am taking her right now. She gave us a detailed verbal study guide for the first test. Very helpful. I never fall asleep in her class as she has great real political stories and experiences that relate to the course material. She uses examples which makes everything easy to understand. She keeps it interesting and makes you laugh while learning.

I just got my test back and I got an A. I think she goes above and beyond the call of duty. She actually told us the actual answers for the test and I'm one of the students that listen to her. You have to show up for class and you have to read the chapter. Some students would rather blame the teacher then do the work because that's easier for them

I love her and the class. I would suggest to the foreign student to get a better grasp of English before taking colleg classes. Not to b rude but if you cant speak the language how can u learn? She helps you after class. She uses a variety of methods to teach. She won't baby you. Don't take her kindness for weekness as she is sharp. she will help students who are sincere about learning. She knows the book by heart. She will administratively drop disrespectful students as she seems like a tough lawyer previously. Love her class.

Lise is one of the best polici teachers I have had . She is caring and willing to help students who want to learn . Professor Wyman is such a character, and a very easygoing professor. She made me laugh, feel comfortable to ask any question I felt needed to be asked, and simply made the class so much more entertaining than I thought it was going to be. Huge kudos to her for being such a positive influence in the academic field, and for just being her.

I enjoyed this class. I have trouble in history classes because they seem irrelevant to me, but Ms. Wyman made political science relevant. She does help with study guides, but you don't need them if you pay attention each class. She brought in real politicians to drive home what we were studying that week. I would take this class again.

I am in her class this semester . She helped mgs get a scholarship when I ran out of money. No teachers do that. I appreciate that she gives open book tests when classes read the chapters and study. It helps! She told us to use practice exams and many of the answers were right there so it can really help you pass. She is also nice, kind and caring. She stayed after class about 6 times to help me with my paper as I re-wrote it and gave me cites and suggestions

I think that foreign student is very confused. This class is Nevada history and fulfills the Nevada requirement. It's also us Constitution. So it is a history class for sure in addition to being political science. I find the class enjoyable and I'm going to be sad when the semester ends because she's so much fun to listen to. She makes it fun.

Ms. Wyman has expectations... as do all professors. They would be that her students show up, act respectful and appropriate, and do what's necessary to learn. I find her classes enjoyable, as long as other students aren't being inappropriate or childish. Ms. Wyman makes learning easier, as well. I would take many more of her classes!!!

I just finished my final and she even gave us a chance for extra credit with an essay question about a political movie, so appreciated! She is beautiful inside and out. She really cares. I don't think she is rude but blunt and straightforward and that's great as far as I am concerned! Refreshing too. She has never been late to MY class .

I took speech 101 from her and I was thrilled to see that she also taught political science. I'm laughing when I'm reading that prior post of the student that expected her to put everything on the test. You have 2 work in her class and read the book and of course it's impossible to go over everythig . And yes we read chapters in college. Duh. Lol

I got an A in her class. I read the assigned chapters and I studied for the test. Gave study guides that helped for each test. Also for the final. Her stories are great because that's what sets her apart from other teachers and makes class interesting because she really worked in politics. Tests and paper were easy when you listen . If you show up late alot you miss alot of material and it is harder to do well. She expects you to be on time & present so you get all the notes and get a good grade. She was willing to help me and answered my emails right away. I loved the movies and her sense of humor as these things made a four hour class bearable. She is fair and really cares.

I enjoyed her political stories because it brought a reality to the class and help me to understand the textbook material. What some people think is going off on tangents I believe is helping me to understand better what I'm reading. It's not going off tangent it's explaining with real life situation what we're reading about. I love her.

Ms. Wyman has a political background which adds to her teachings, yet her methods of explanation and testing are abysmal. She has a personality, however studying material and preparation for quizzes is poor. Readings are barely gone over, and many tests have extra material not in the study guides. A hit-and miss teacher, all depends on your ethic.

I think she's great. Some students were not thrilled with her tonight because they thought they deserve A's. I think she's a fair grader and you get better than you deserve in her class. I find her to be well organized. She expects u to work. Some students are lazy and will blame her. if you read the book and do the work you will pass.

I'm reading prior posts on here I'm realizing how lucky we are that she gives us a study guide. None of my other teachers even do that. It's ridiculous to think everything on a test is going to be on the guide. I guess some students want you to Baby them. I don't expect her to go over the whole textbook. That's what we are supposed to do.

Prof. Wyman was one of the most intersting and engaging instructors I've ever had. She is clear, concise and more than fair when it comes to grading. I truly believe that failing any of her classes reflect on a genuine lack of trying on the students part. Ontop of everything she's incredibly funny and knows her stuff! Also, be ready to read.

Study guides for quizzes? I've never had a teacher give me a study guide for a quiz. I think that's pretty awesome that she does that. The extra-credit saved me 2, because I missed a test and I thank her for that. If you pay attention, and follow her you'll do well. If you don't - you won't. Show up, do the assignments and you'll do great.

Made the information relevant and she is very entertaining. She is not easy, though. You need to pay attention, be in class and pay attention. I would take a class from her again. Her personal experience and the speakers are informative and engaging. But this is not a class where you can just show up at test time.

I took her class for 4-hours, once a week. She is funny and keeps the class awake, but she cant admit when she is wrong, and she gets upset when people leave even 30 minutes early; she quit often threatens to mark people absent if they don't stay the whole time. 3 tests, a research paper, and final. READ THE CHAPTERS!!

I never had a teacher like her before. She's straightforward and funny and she keeps it real. She tries to help you if you need help. She gets back to you quickly on emails. Her syllabus clearly states that she will lower your grade if you are absent or late. No cell phone use in the class but I'm cool with it I'm there to learn.

4 tests and five page term paper. Make sure to read the book and attend class. She will work with you as long as you work with her. She can go off topic, but it usually relates to what she is lecturing about. She is also hilarious which made the class bearable.

It is the end of the semester and I think I am getting an A. She is fair, funny and knowlegable. She does expect respect to her or other students. She gives extra credit to help the end grade. I take my final exam next week. The teacher doesn't need to even give a review as we're all responsible for reading the book. I believe her reviews are fair and when you listen to her she practically tells you everything that's going to be on the test. I'm getting an A I think. The instructor is fair and honest. She explains book Concepts in a way I can understand since this was not my favorite subject but mandatory. I like the fact that she can speak Spanish. She showed interesting movies dealing with social issues that were relevant to the material and help me to understand it better especially civil rights. Helpful.

Ms. Wyman was a great teacher. I took her last year. My brother is going to take her this semester. She speaks Spanish which helped me alot as I just moved here from Mexico. Classes were interesting and organized. She is very helpful and kind. She worked in politics so that helped me to understand the text material. Class was 4 hours but fun!

I had to take this class and put it off to my last semester as I did not feel I would like the subject. She made it interesting. If you show up 99% of the time, participate and do the readings on time--you will probably get a good grade and enjoy the class. She had interesting guest speakers and people from the library and writing center. Not hard.

Smarter students realize that when she uses real life experiences, as a former politician, she does so to explain the concepts in the book so it's not boring. I thought I would not like PS but it ended up being my fav class. This has to do with the professor. She is organized, fun to listen to, helpful and accesible by email. If you come to class, read the text, attend reviews , you will pass. Students that don't attend just struggle cause they are not up on everything. She must have send to read the hand out over 20 times for a test. People that don't listen seem to have issues. Everything on the last test was on the hand out, just like she said.

I liked the class and the instructor. It was not a hard class for me. i appreciate the fact that she offered opportunities for xtra credit as it really helped my grade. (Since I am not the best test taker) She tries to keep it lively and to keep each student involved. You can tell that she cares. I hopes she teaches other things in the future!

She's awesome. 4 credit course, so you really have to put forth effort. Tests are so simple that you may read the questions multiple ways, 2nd guess your answers, & get a bad grade. If you don't read the chapters before the tests, you won't do well. Best advice: read, do all the extra credit, and don't go through the tests and change your answers!

Ms. Wyman worked in politics so she has a lot of real life examples to share & her lectures were very interesting. You know exactly what her expectations are. There were only 4 tests, 25 t/f, & 1 paper (5 page max) at 100 points each. You do have a lot of reading because you read & discuss the chapters each class.

She keeps it real and that's the best thing about her class. She's interesting and she's funny and she gave me extra credit which really helped my grade. None of my other teachers did that. You got to show up to class and you got to read the book to pass. I think she's a great and I did better than I thought I would. Thank you Miss Wyman.

3 quizzes, 1 final, 1 research paper. If you miss class/lecture, you'll miss questions on the quiz from lecture or videos shown during class. Research paper was simple. Only gripe was she was strict with cell phone use, no cell phones at all. Felt like grade school some times, scolds students, but then again she is a grade school teacher by day.

I was in her class last semester & a bunch of us got together as we're in a study group. At the end of the semester we looked at each other's grades and we all did a lot better than what our score averaged. She used extra credit to pump us up a lot. Cell phone policy with strike but without it we'd be screwing around on them. LOL

Attendance matters otherwise you wont know HOW to pass exams, study guides given, test are tricky, guest speakers for extra credit the choice is yours, She's very clear with whats expected If you fail you earned it, Passed A-

Really all I did was participate, show up every class, and did good enough on my tests. She is super funny and down to earth. If you hate politics like me she makes her class cool enough to where you can learn something and enjoy it. Great teacher!

Wow. Haters going to hate. I love Miss Wyman. Come to class, read the book, participate. I think she's helping us when she has us group working in class because half the people don't read books. She gives you class time to finish your chapter thank God. You're not supposed to be reading out loud, u're supposed to summarize your section. She's nice.

Will pass if you show up to class and do HW. One 5 pg paper and the HW was reading 1 chapter per week. Wont take any excuses if you miss a test unless your dying. Test are true/false questions. She will tell you exactly what to study for test. Extra credit offered and its events you attend and write a page about. Most were during my work hrs.

She works in politics so understands the real world concepts. I came not wanting to take this class but she inspired me. Students had the chance to meet the former VP of the US. Never would have had this opportunity otherwise. Got to also meet the secretary of state and a judge. I am now interested in politics and never was before. Love her.

I like that she gave me my test grade a week after the test where other teachers make you wait forever The Only Exception was the paper which had to go through some type of plagiarism software. Which is understandable to me. She is fair and won't baby you.

She gives you your grades as you go. If you attend and participate you get extra points and that's says that in her shoulders. She explains how to get certain grades on your paper in the syllabus also but you need to read it to understand. She gives you opportunities to meet elected officials which I never would have normally which is a big plus.

I don't understand what that one poster is saying because she gives you your grades as you go and she gives you the formula as to how to figure out where you stand on your grade. Maybe they didn't understand English very well. She keeps you up on your grades and she tells you how to figure out your current average. She is fair. Won't baby you.

Extra credit will only bump you up a little. Some students think they can screw around all semester and that the extra credit is going to really change your grade. If you don't participate you can't get participation points if you're absent you lose points for that. She's Fair. Some students want to be babied. It doesn't work

Test grades were given 7 days after the tests. Extra credit was used to bump up our grades. Reviews were given before each test. Handouts for given in class so that we didn't have to pay for printing off of canvas. Class material was made interesting because we got to meet candidates. Good instructor. Made class interesting.

to pass you need to read the chapters and stay on top of them every week. pay attention to due dates because there's no makeups for tests. she tells you your grade after every assignment and it's up to you to write them down. Don't miss more than two classes or you won't pass because you missed the material from her mouth. I enjoyed class.

She gives you your grades the following class after a test. If your absent the day she gives out grades you have to email her which makes sense because why would she carry all the grades around all the time. Some students don't like that because they want to blame somebody because they were absent. Good class.

She's a very good instructor. She's very kind and caring and helpful. During this coronavirus she even sent students information as to where they can get food bank health and counseling. She's worked in politics so she knows her material. I appreciate her helpful ways.

Prof. W is hilarious! She keeps things interesting by bringing in guest speakers. 3 exams, 1 paper (5pg), 1 final (Ea 100 pts ttl of 500). Goes over what you need to know for exams. 25 questions which were T/F so you have 50% chance of getting it right. Make sure you stay up with your reading. Nothing in life comes easy, so take her class.

Took her on campus class. She tells you like it is, if you have no sense of humor and expect an easy A, keep looking. Lots of reading for this is a 4 credit class. If you miss class you will miss out on hints on test questions she may throw in there. Very funny if you understand her humor. Lets you eat in class as long as you clean up

We went remote mid-semester due to the virus. She immediately started emailing us and sending us educational messages as well as messages to help us find a food bank, links for healthcare and jobs and financial assistance. There was a lot of reading in her class but she pretty much gives you the answers in reviews if you're willing to pay attention

I have taken her twice. The first time I had personal problems so could not complete the course but I liked her so I came back to take it again and this time I passed. She is of the opposite political party as me but she brought speakers in of both political parties. She does not try to force you to support any parties. She is fair. Actually cares.

She speaks Spanish if you need help. She is kind and caring. She does expect you to do the work on time. She refers you to resources to help like writing center and tutors, help desk for technology if needed. She is not an easy A. She gives you what you deserve. She may use extra credit to help a little but it won't move you up 3 grades. Good class

She is fair and she is kind and she is straightforward. She does not kiss a student's butt. Some students don't like that because they're used to walking on their teachers. She will give you the grades that you deserve. If you don't show up half the time you probably won't pass. I would take her again.

I'm going to miss her and I would definitely take her again. She was funny and she brought guest speakers and she told you from the beginning what to expect and she stuck with it. She gave you your grades every week after your test. She also worked in politics so she understands how the book applies in real life. She keeps things real.

Took her for psc101. Basically what you'd find for a typical high school govt class. Lectures were kinda boring. If you're shy there was a lot of reading out loud

Very professional and knowledgeable. Made class interesting and enjoyable with her experience in actual politics. Only a few tests and one paper. You need to show up and stay engaged in order to do well. I learned a lot from her. She is a straight shooter. She made government easy for me. I didn't think I would like the class but I really loved it.

She is kind but direct. She expects you to read the chapters each week & attend the classes. If you are absent more then a couple times, you will miss her test hints in the lectures and not do as well as you could. If you verbally participate, you will get bonus points at the end of the semester which will pump up your grade. A paper & tests rqrd.

I ended up homeless and living out of my car mid-semester and God love her, she brought me bags of groceries and discreetly left them behind her desk for me at the end of class. She did not have to do this, She actually cares about you. She's not rich but she could tell something was up with me. She expects you to attend class. Read the book.

She is very caring and goes out of her way to help minority students. You can tell she loves what she does to be in it and cheerful when teaching for many years. Not boring or monotone. A straight shooter, and blunt-- good sense of humor when delivering course material but expects you to read, attend, and do the work. She is friendly. 4 tests.

Take her seriously when she says put your phone away. Your grade will drop if you text or use your phone in class unless she lets you do it for research purposes. Don't constantly go in the hallway to use your phone either because you'll lose points for that. She expects respect. She's a good teacher. I learned a lot from her and would recommend

Top tier professor and human being, the type to care about your success inside and outside of the classroom. She has never had a bad day in class and was always in a loving mood, ready to profess and teach. Out of all the professors I had this semester, she was by far the one I learned from the most.

I took her class Spring of 2023. Teaches Pol Sci to the point where you actually want to get involved in your community. Loved that about her. She was passionate & funny. She had two guest speakers come to class - extra credit. She cared about her students. 4 Tests, 1 paper & final exam. Tests done in class. Do not text while in class.Take her!!

Professor Wyman brings passion and care to teaching Pol Sci. Lectures are engaging, and she encourages class participation. The workload is manageable, and Unstuck study proved helpful for exam prep.
