she is the coolest she makes you feel at home and is very helpful she might be tuf on the importance of the culture but is awsome and funny i love her shes the greatest.

She was hard, but I learned alot. She expects alot out of you, so expect to work in this class. It also helps if you had her for 101 and 102.

Great teacher!! You have to work hard, so be prepared. You will learn a lot! She is very nice, and is willing to help any way she can!

This teacher is awesome I love her. She is very demanding but I gaurantee you she will not set you up for failure. Success is the name of her game and sincerely teaching is the same. She cares about her students. She is the Boooooomb!!!!

great teacher took all my classes with her from 101 to 299 special projects im in Cal state san marcos now if it wasn't for her i would not have been so prepared for the upperdivision courses.

VERY tough and demanding but you WILL learn and is ALWAYS willing to help (even if you can't make her office hours). HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you are interesting in learning

This is the best teacher you could ever come by. Her students come first and if you do not understand the lesson she will make time for you to help. She is very funny too which helps make the class go by faster. Even though there is attendance policy I would not even want to miss any of her classes. Take her you will not regret it!!

She is awesome! She does demand quite a bit but its easy enough and only to keep you on track. She is fun and interesting and very helpful. I am taking her in 102 of course! Pick this teacher you wont regeret it!

There is a ton of work in this class but you will actually learn. She is an amazing teacher. This was the funnest class I've ever taken. This class makes you feel like a kid again :)

Be prepared to work hard! She is extremely challenging but a very good teacher. Make sure your cell phones are off..if she hears it, there is automatically a quiz the next day! She is always willing to help you however and really wants you to succeed. Totally recommend her.

ALWAYS TURN CELL PHONES OFF OR YOU GET A QUIZ!always go to class because then she allows you to drop your lostest test score. She is the head of the department so it doesnt get any better, she also expects alot form her students. She expects alot yet,she is always willing to help if you ask.umm.. she start off class with a scream but you get used to it. i recommend her !!!!!!!!

WooooHoooo! Professora es muy ESTATICA! It's obvious she loves her job. It's not the easiest class, but you really learn in her class. She's a very energetic lady and participation is a huge part of her class. Don't expect to stay in your seat. I absolutely loved her class. My one piece of advice is to make sure your cell phone stays off ;)

Profesora Castro es mi profesora favorita! She is the most fun. I promise you will not be bored in her class. Lots of speaking (en espano) with other students. Homework and tests are average. But overall the best spanish teacher I've come across!!

Profesora Castro is a fantastic educator! Yes, her class is difficult but you will actually learn Spanish. Do your homework, study for tests, and keep your cell phone off. I have had her for 3 semesters and love her!

She is the best teacher i have ever had in college. Her class is hard but you learn a lot. She makes sure you understand the material before she moves on. Make sure you go to class everyday! if you take her class you wont regret it. She makes herself available whenever you need her pretty much. I took her for 101,102,201,and i'm taking 202 next sem

Ive had Lissette for 101 and 201 and she is the absolute best! i wish i had been able to have her for 102 because no one compares. she pushes you to do your best and you actually come out of the class having learned something. she is such a great teacher! highly recommended

Lissette is AWESOME! I recomend her to everyone. Every day is different and exciting. You really do learn a lot and she is extreamly helpful and kind. I've had her for 3 semesters, spanish 101,102 and 201. Just study, keep your cellphone off and pay attention in class and you'll be fine

She was the best Spanish teacher i ever had. I came straight out of high school and took her 8 week course, and it was extremly challenging and i struggled but I learned more in 8 weeks than I did in 2 years at my high school. She is very funny and you really will enjoy going to class with her and you will learn a lot. TURN OFF YOUR CELL PHONES!!!

Great teacher. It's quite a handful of work, but in the end it pays off. You must do your work in order to good on the tests.

OMG Just an AMAZING instructor. Yes the work and vocab can be much but super friendly attitude and is right to the point with her lessons giving enough time in the beginning of class to tell a 'weekend story' if there is one. A MUST TAKE professor. TURN OFF CELL PHONES!! that is a biggie. LOVE HER and hope to take her in the future:)

Professor Castro is amazing. I took her for Spanish 101/102 and will be taking her for 201 as well. She has a great attitude and loves her job. I HIGHLY suggest her but seriously TURN OFF YOUR PHONES. This is NOT an easy A course, but Professor Castro will help with any problems. Very fast with emails, but doesn't post grades. Take her class!!!!!!!

Professor Castro is a wonderful professor and person, you can tell she loves her job and cares about her students. HOWEVER, she expects a lot, HW, exams, quiz, plus additional vocab. Be warned that if you fail any one of her 3 final exams she will fail you for the entire course regardless of your cumulative semester grade... lots of pressure!

My response on the negative reviews: final exam rules apply to ALL language classes, & she isn't arrogant. She is such a great and helpful teacher, and you can tell she really enjoys her job. She's a tough grader, so don't take this class if you want an easy A & don't wanna work for the grade you earn. TURN OFF CELL PHONES or put on airplane mode.

She is a good teacher overall but its a lot of work all at once that gets overwhelming and she doesn't give you a break, ever.

I did not like her teaching style at all. Randomly calls students to the board to answer questions. Makes everyone read their homework answers out loud so make sure your homework is right or you will be embarrassed. Quizzes are no more than 4 minutes long and Test are only 1 hour long. Very hard class. Wouldn't recommend her. GOODLUCK

She teaches her students in a way that you really gain something from the class. Although she does assign a lot of work, it helps more than you know. Just do the work and put effort into the class and you will be fine. It doesn't matter to her if you are naturally an "A" student. As long as she sees the effort, she will help you in any way she can.

She's amazing at teaching the subject! I loved her. She will however, make you participate in EVERY SINGLE CLASS. Also, I hated how all the tests/quizzes were timed. And be prepared to SING in front of the class if you're late. Yes, singing in Spanish is a part of the class EVERYDAY! Gracias, por su tiempo! See, I learned something. Lol

Absolutely loved her class !! I took her for fast track 101 & 102 . The class is not easy and you need to work for your grade, there is a lot of homework, as well as studying involved. I love that she reviews for each exam. There are many quizzes announced and unannounced. You can't miss more than 3 classes or she drops you.

Prof. Castro is one of the best teachers I've had since attending MSJC. She understands the language and the subject. Be prepared to complete a workbook daily, attend a video chat with a Spanish coach weekly, and stay after school at the language lab. If you relax and put in the effort, Prof. Castro is the best Spanish teacher around.

she is a tough grader but if you put in the time and effort you will pass. she is nice and funny, but she has no problem failing you or giving you a "grande EFE" . you are required to do a hour a week outside of class hrs in the lab and if you do not do your video chat once a week for 30mins you will fail no questions asked. but over all a great

Lissette is a great knowledgeable professor. You will have homework daily. Tests are hard, however she is a fair grader on the written dialogue/story and if you take great notes and read you will be fine. I had her for both 101 & 102 in the short term courses. It was intense but she is an amazing teacher.

The infamous Profesora Castro... she's great! If learning Spanish is the goal, I highly recommend her. She actually cares on how you are doing in the class, and wants to help you get A's. Just be prepared to work hard, devote time to this class, and sing your heart out!

Lissette is a great teacher who actually cares about her students learning. Her class is hard but its because you will actually learn to speak Spanish. Her teaching style really works and if you are willing to put the time in and study, you will do well. Lots of extra credit and shes always happy to help during office hours. Very rewarding class!

Professor Castro is amazing! The class is easy if you pay attention to lectures, participate, and asks questions. There are 2 projects, they were fairly easy. Homework was mostly from an online workbook and studying grammar/vocab. YOU NEED TEXTBOOK PACKAGE (with online access, the physical workbook, and textbook). There are lots of quizzes too.

102 was probably the hardest Spanish level class I've taken because there are A LOT of different kinds of grammar involved (vocabulary was easy though). But the way Profesora Castro handled the online class transition due to COVID-19 was amazing. For the semester: 2 projects + 5 exams + book required for HW (workbook). She wants you to succeed!

This was one of the few professors on this campus that really made me feel like I was part of a family rather than just... there. She cares about her students and strives for you to succeed. She's truly one of a kind and I miss her to bits. Best Spanish Professor by far! Actually learned a lot! Take her amongst others! You'll have a lot of fun! :D

She is an amazing teacher and she cares about her students, she is very tough on grading but she is awesome, she is always there for her student if you dont understand an assignment she will take her time to help you out. I really recommend her class ����

She's a great professor; the only problem is some of her assignments are in Spanish, and if you're barely learning, I recommend taking SI and asking her lots of questions. She's a tough grader and gives lots of daily assignments. She also encourages other students to talk to each other. Just complete the work and attend the tutoring sessions.

She is a great teacher, she is a sweet person and she care for her students. Always available for her students and offers office hours. She is a tough grader but she always makes sure her students understand the lectures. Before exams she always do a review that is similar to the exam.

Professor Castro is the best Spanish teacher I have ever had. I would not take the summer course if you are new to Spanish, but Castro offers good homework and review to prepare you. She is available easily outside of class and offers good feedback on all writing assignments and quizzes. She gives grades after all chapter tests and when you ask.

Mrs. Castro is very caring and great with communication. I took her online class, and she always responded that same day. The material difficulty is average, but if you pay attention to the lectures and study you will get a good grade. The quizzes are multiple attempts and exams are very similar to the study guide.

For native spanish speakers, Prof. Castro is fairly easy. Gives great feedback, and is very upfront of your responsibilities in her class. As long as your on top of all assignments and watch lectures, you'll be fine. She accepts no late work (no excuses), all quizzes/exams are based on lectures. For those who aren't native speakers, it'll be tough.

Overall, she's one of those teachers who is so awesome to talk to. She's kind, caring, and can take a joke. Her syllabus seems strict but if you email her, she is quite flexible. I just didn't care much about the class as a whole since I'm not a huge spanish person.
