Moliski is the newest stats prof for STA309. I highly recommend her. Very articulate in lectures and brings in real examples from her experience. This is a standardized course so she doesn't grade per se. I felt she well prepared us for the test if you come to class.
While her explanations in class are very helpful and relevant to the homework problems, her test questions (especially the theoretical ones) are too tough for an intro class. She assumes that we understand the material as much as she does but most of the class has no idea what those questions are even about.
Class is standardized, but Moliski makes it bearable. She lectures relatively well--you need to go for participation (online questions) and to learn how to use technology. There is weekly HW that help a lot for tests. Two exams (20% each) and a final (30%), all pretty easy. The final will replace lowest test grade if it is higher than said test.
Professor Moliski is an awesome professor. She involves students and allows them to feel free to ask questions, explains statistics in a tangible way, and truly helps those in her class to learn the material. You can also definitely tell that she really cares about the students in her class, and I highly recommend her!
Great professor. Stats can be a hard thing to get conceptually but she really tries to empathize with her students and find out what we struggle with most to help. Little to no math, she is very aware that modern stats is driven by computers and teaches accordingly. Lectures can get a bit dry, but it helps if you actually participate in class.
Extremely boring lecturer. Talks SO quietly. Just spews out information, but is incapable of explaining. Had to break my back and spend hundreds on tutoring to get an A.
The material in this class is not necessarily difficult, but for me, Moliski makes it harder than it needs to be. Monotonously going through lectures, convoluted explanations for simple topics, and tests with class averages below 70 just made this class difficult and stressful. The practice tests are good practice for the actual exams I will say
Stats is difficult and most of the classes are coordinated. Moliski was super sweet and helpful in 309 but I would NOT take her for 371. In 309 if you really had a hard time she would sit down and help you out, but in 371 she literally cannot explain the concepts. Her response is always "you have to think about it." Good for 309. Bad for 371G.
Stats is either really easy or really hard for most students. Moliski is really helpful in office hours. The class is standardized across professors, so all of the tests and grade breakdowns are the same.
As a person who loved stats in high school, Moliski made me almost despise it. The course is easy enough to learn on your own and the textbook is helpful but the lectures are just awful. Its boring and confusing and she cold calls. If you havent taken stats previously, then good luck. Also, the tests are much harder than the class examples & HW.
Professor Moliski is outstanding, kind, and always willing to help. I took her for both STA 371G and STA 309, and I loved her teaching in both! I found the class(es) to be useful, fun, and easy thanks to Professor Moliski's awesome teaching!
I don't think I've ever seen someone struggle to hold the attention of a room that badly in my life... If there are no other professors then I guess the course material is easy enough to learn yourself. Just don't rely on her to teach you the material, think of her class as more of a review session.
I give her credit for really caring about her students and trying to help us do well. Class is very boring though and can be confusing at times. I'm really terrible at stats and I wouldn't recommend taking her if that's the case, but if you have a background from before in stats then you'll be able to do really well.
She is the worst teacher I have at college because of three main reasons: 1) She does not listen to questions and you walk away more confused 2) She is incapable of keeping the class attentive because of her dead and annoying energy 3) She routinely says answers from people are "dumb", "awful", "terrible", etc. These traits create a miserable class
hard to learn, doesn't teach during class, just goes over a bunch of examples. don't need to read the textbook but need to buy it for the online homework. take lukoff instead of her, he is much better and actually teaches
One of the few genuinely horrible teachers at UT. She is discouraging, quiet, monotone, condescending, and not helpful in office hours. She has made me and many of my friends cry and overall ruins the college experience. Im not the type of person to complain but she really is that bad!
one time I got the flu and was happy about it because it gave me an excuse not to go to class because I could be miserable at home instead of miserable in class
Moliski is very knowledgeable about how stats applies to the real world and has really cool work experience prior to teaching. However, the lectures put half the class to sleep and she cold calls almost 100% of the time. Slides are really unhelpful for studying-I got a friend to send me Greenberg's slides ( recommend doing that if you have her).
Shes AWFUL. Take any other Professor.
Moliski is not a good stats prof. She is a really nice person, but her lectures are sleep-inducing, she never answers your questions, and oftentimes you'll have to teach yourself how to do the homework. PLUS Sessions were not helpful either. Take Lukoff, he's the only good STA309 prof. Otherwise good luck learning anything from Moliski.
I enjoyed this class, but that's because I like stats. I came in with AP credit, so it was a bit of a learning curve learning R while trying to remember old content. She lets you take cheat sheets to exams, which help immensely. The mts and final are MC and fair; the practices are good for prep. During finals she has group presentations for a proj.
Worst professor I have had at UT.
Took AP stat in high school and didn't take this class until sophomore year, came in and didn't remember a thing. As it turned out this is more of a programming and concept comprehension class than actual hardcore statistics, very easy once you get a hang of it. The professor while very boring, has good notes and is willing to help out
Prof. Moliski was nice outside of class... but for some reason, she always seemed upset at us during lecture. The class eventually turned into a meme because she just fed us the code instead of having us figure it out during lecture. The class isn't hard, if you did well in stats before. But there are some questions on the exams that are tricky.
Honestly one of the worst teachers I have ever had. A lot of this is due to not understanding statistics, but the really big part is she doesn't know how to teach anything. I taught myself everything from the textbook and a part of me is considering paying for a part time tutor when I have to take 371. You've been warned.
Professor Moliski is a nice person. However, she expects you to just "get" stuff. When asking questions, many times she replies with "you don't know this already?" She responds in passive aggressive tones to reasonable questions. The class itself is not *that* hard but you will have to teach yourself. Go to class to get participation points.
Professor Moliski is a hit or miss for some people. I thought she was delightful and thoroughly explained topics, although she could be a bit flustered at times. She is honestly really engaging, and as long as you pay attention in class and understand the homework/reviews, you will do fine!
I had Professor Moliski for STA309 and decided to take her again for STA371G because she did a great job and its recommended to continue with the same professor. This class was awesome and the entire first unit is basically a review of the topics covered in STA309.
Stats is unconventional and that's why people have a hard time understanding the professor but READ THE FREAKING TEXTBOOK @those that are complaining. It's easy to read and just do the practice problems. The HW helps and the test is EXACTLY like the practice test but it's easy to get an average grade bc there's only lik 20 questions.
I like how people are only putting a thumbs up on the negative comments and a thumbs down on the positive comment:)Just do your sh** and you'll pass. Read the textbook before or after class if you're more confused. People are really used to being spoon fed especially when the simplest solution is putting effort outside class.
I don't know why Professor Moliski has so many negative reviews prior to the most recent semester. She has been very kind and does everything possible to make sure that students understand the material. Sometimes she comes off as a bit condescending , but I really don't think she means to be. Attend lectures and read textbooks and you'll do well.
Dr. Moliski is very, very knowledgeable and experienced at what she does. She can sometimes come across as disorganized or overwhelmed. TA reviews and office hours were crucial. She seems to be the best pick for 371 and was certainly passionate about stats. Only problems is she often had a hard time understanding "what was hard" about the class.
Truly my least favorite professor at UT. I don't know how the other stat professors are, but there has to be better. If you found a person who knew stat, could effectively teach it to students, and wasn't condescending to anyone who moves, you'd have found a far better teacher than Moliski. Every day I spent in this class was worse because of it.
Good proeessor who helps personally explaining home works. Grade curve after final. 50-60% people get A grade.
She was amazing. As someone taking this class during COVID, she established multiple surveys and consistently changed the course in response to student feedback. No assignment is worth more than 5% of your grade. She is caring, loves the material, and voiced that she isn't here to stress us out. There is some disorganization, but was fixed quickly.
Moliski's MIS class was easy if you do the readings and keep up, but unfortunately the class was very unorganized compared to other online classes during COVID. Communication was sparse but she is very considerate and does not punish students based on circumstances. She's very sweet and really does try her best at making the class interesting.
She's nice but loves to brag. But the TAs are terrible people. Policies and tech issues every week. Assignment instructions are obscure and Excel worksheets are full of holes that we have to get by ourselves. Quizzes are so hard and does not match material. Maybe it won't be this bad if TA didn't treat us like crap and just brush off protests.
She is the absolute most unorganized professor I've ever had in my life. The class material isn't even difficult but her incompetence with technology in a technology class amazes me. She is obsessed with bragging about her career and focuses on that more than teaching anything. It is truly the most frustrated I've ever been with any professor.
She's not as bad as everyone said!! Yes her class can be disorganized, but she actually cares about her students and is super accommodating. You have to reach out to her w/ your concerns and she'll work with you. Excel problems could be hard though, but if you pay attention in class, it helps a lot
Prof Moliski is one of the best I've had at UT. Although the material can be a little disorganized at times, she really cares about her students and wants everyone to learn the material and gain a better understanding of the world around them. The excel skills taught are super helpful. I never found the class to be extremely challenging.
Dr. Moliski is very caring and knowledgeable on excel. I took this class asynchronously so be aware that there are a lot of lectures to watch. Only hard part was excel set HW but she gives you lots of opportunities to keep your grade up.
Prof Moliski is a very caring Professor and if you really needed help there are like 5 TAs to help you on your assignments. If you take MIS302F online, TAKE IT ASYNCHRONOUSLY because the live streams are awful and it's the exact same class.
I would not recommend taking this professor for online classes. She was not well-equipped to handle the semester online, leading to much frustration on behalf of the students.
Professor Moliski is a kind professor and she cares about her students. However, for a technology class/prof, there is an overwhelming amount of disorganization and confusion with canvas and recording lectures. There are a handful of big projects that make up the majority of your grade but they are very easy even if you dont pay attention in class.
The major downside of the class is that it is curved down to a 3.2 GPA, so the class average has to meet that. However, the material is not hard at all and If you really wanted to, an A is easy.
I love her so much. She is such a sweetheart and you can tell that she really cares about the material. This class wasn't easy, but I feel like she has done a lovely job of teaching it.
In the beginning, the way the syllabus is set up is super confusing but once you figure it out, the schedule is straightforward. Watch the lectures, if you don't, you will be confused. I really liked that there were no exams, and was more quiz based. Moliski cares about her students and really wants you to succeed.
This class alone made up over half of my workload this semester, and I was taking 15 hours. You are taking two classes in one, essentially. One side is a ridiculous amount of Excel work. Seven projects that are at least thirteen, multi-part questions long that aren't even graded correctly, as well as weekly quizzes and homework on top of all that.
A very content heavy class but very do-able, especially if you like excel. One of the few classes where I've actually learned valuable skills and the case studies are really interesting. No tests just quizzes which are easy if you study and do well on excel. Put in time and you'll get an A she's so nice and understanding!!!
I took this class during the covid months. It was pretty easy for me in the online format. The class is half excel, and the other half is quizzes based on case studies. Some of the class is disorganized, but who wasn't disgruntled by the pandemic. Love the teacher would take it again!
so much work. you have two things due every week that are pretty extensive. takes multiple hours outside of class. I had it async, but you have to answer instapolls during class. dr. liz's lectures were hard to follow and did not reflect what was on the quizzes a lot of times. she is very nice, though, and cared abt our wellbeing.
Professor Moliski was a great lecturer. For the most part, the class is very lecture and assignment-heavy since there are no exams. It wasn't too bad taking it in the summer, but I could not imagine this workload during the semester. She's upbeat and nice, and I would definitely take her again if it weren't for the grade distribution.
So much work. Hour long excel videos in addition to two weekly lectures. Gets easily frustrated with student worries. Beware of instapolls, she doesnt understand why we care so much when they effect our grade, since they only count a little but refuses to get rid of them.
She does not care about whether or not you improved throughout the course. If you do bad on one quiz in the beginning there's no coming back.
She is a really sweet lady and the class is pretty straight forward, but her quizzes were worth half of your grade and can be very challenging.
This class was really easy if you just watch the lectures and read the textbook. Quiz questions are usually definitions or specific examples from the book and Excel questions mirror what we learned in class. Instapolls can be annoying sometimes if you can't make the class but she gives 3 days to complete them and drops like 20 of them.
Dr. Liz is super sweet and accomodating to her students. Her class is pretty difficult and has hard quizzes. There are also roughly 4-5 assignments a week, which can be pretty overwhelming. None of the assignments are too hard but if you do not reach out to TA's during office hours they never respond to their email and it is hard to get in contact.
im sorry but her voice is so annoyinng
Avoid this professor at all costs! She loves to discriminate and embarrass students who ask questions during class. She is angry and in sensitive to students. Her goal seems to be to create mental health issues for her students rather than help them succeed. By far the WORST professor ive had at UT. She is not qualified and confused all the time.
I liked Dr. Moliski's class, and I didn't think she was rude at all. When you have to deal with so many students, you don't have time to answer every question... especially when the lectures are recorded and she stresses office hours. There are a lot of assignments and the quizzes are hard, but it is easy to get B< if you pay attention and study.
This professor sucks, seriously. I have never written a review but I am sitting in MIS304 clawing my eyes out right now. She only talks about how she worked at apple so she must be knowledgeable and we should listen to everything she says. She doesn't actually teach anything and just gets angry at students for not immediately knowing how to code.
I so badly want to like MIS - I read about Zara and Amazon - it is so cool to learn about certain business concepts and how the companies grew to be successful. But at the end of the day, no matter how much I want to learn, it just saddens me that no matter how much I try, this class is designed for you to fail.
I took this course during COVID. She was really nice and give really comprehensive lectures. Have to do well on the quizzes. I missed one and it was so hard to get my grade back up. If you want to learn Excel, this is the class to do it, tons of practice.
Dr. Liz give engaging lectures and cares a lot about her students. The class organization can be confusing at first, since you learn Excel as well as other topics, but you'll get used to it quick. The textbook mostly just covers case studies of how different companies use technologies which I found pretty interesting. Great class overall!
Coding assignments are hard if you don't have any coding experience in python before actually taking the course. She is always worried about the people that have more coding experience feeling like the class is too easy, leaving all the nonexperts extremely confused. Midterms are from the book but are very tricky and cover a lot of content.
no clue why she is rated so high. her face is fking stiff af, looks like she got botox.
She gets a lot of hate because this is an intro pure-python class with a comp sci textbook, so some people will be weeded out. She is caring though and makes herself available outside of class. She is clear in her expectations and makes sure students know what will be on the midterm. Overall, good professor, just a tougher subject.
Loved this class. Textbook reading very interesting. Lectures pretty interesting too. Very useful excel skills. Textbook had a lot of practice resources. Quizzes were challenging mainly because only a small amount of time available, but there were several curves built in throughout the class.
She is making us pay over $100 to be able to access the content of the course. Upon payment of the fees we can finally access the modules, homework, etc.
Terrible terrible terrible class. She is the most disorganized, passive-aggressive professor I have ever had. For an IT Management Class, she doesn't know how to use canvas or any technology. Takes weeks to release online exam scores, which were all MC. She is also very rude anytime you email her and gets annoyed easily. Avoid her if you can.
She does not have course material prepared, she is often late to class. She becomes significantly frustrated and annoyed when you ask questions whether it be on lecture or Python. Do not recommend, please avoid if at all possible.
Took the class for a computer application credit. There are probably better options in terms of difficulty and workload. This class is unnecessarily hard and time-consuming. She is not very accommodating and is rather rude to anyone who asks a question. The cutoff for an A is ridiculous and she's a very below-average lecturer. Avoid if you can.
she is so obnoxious and passive-aggressive towards students. This class is hard for no reason and she is so disorganized. None of the due dates are ever right in canvas. She has all these technology degrees, but can't use canvas. The workload is crazy and she doesn't like responding to emails as it's "hard to do." Avoid or take at CC if possible.
The one unit about multiple excel functions was more difficult but you have to go to office hours if you need help and you can google a lot of it or use the practices to figure it out. Easy to get an A, just pay attention, do the homework, and ask questions if you need to. This is a class with over 100 students so not all emails will be replied to.
just not great at answering questions or making things clear. She almost always canceled her office hours. pretty nice lady tho.
The Cengage excel assignments absolutely sucked. The software basically cucks you out of a couple questions in almost every quiz. The training modules made me want to drink bleach. There's usually 40 tasks, and restrictive definition of what was considered a "right action" would void your answer and you would have to restart.
So unresponsive. Tells students to go to office hours and doesn't show up. Discourages students from sending emails. Exams are unnecessarily hard and don't reflect assigned work. I got 100s on all the homework and still failed the midterm. Purposely makes tests harder if students do too good. 0/5.
Extremely disorganized class. Assignment due dates were constantly changing, Prof is hard to contact, and office hours were frequently cancelled. Weekly work is tedious and often challenging, but def doable. Tests (open note) are challenging, but not unnecessarily hard. It def helped that I had taken accounting/finance before this class.
This was such a terrible class. She's so disorganized and changes her mind every week about how she wants to run the course. She literally said and I quote, "too many people have A's, so I made the test harder." She's never available and the TAs are barely helpful. The material isn't necessarily super hard, but you have to teach yourself a lot.
Liz fr don't care about this class.Due dates & office hours changed constantly. Inaccessible over email.Unclear instructions on assignments & projects.Exams had little to do with material we were told to study. Instapoll answer choices posted without questions so it was just a wild guess. I'm an A student, material not hard but scared I might fail.
Despite the technical issues at the beginning of the semester, this class carried on with relative smoothness. None of the technical issues was her fault and she was constantly berated with questions from students who refused to go to office hours. She was a great professor and the class taught me a lot about excel and the infotech area of business
This class was messy from the get-go: tons of technical errors, postponed deadlines, and an incorrect syllabus for weeks. Lectures and Info-tech readings aren't reflective at all of the exams. Doesn't really know how to teach and once spent an hour figuring out an excel error. She calls our tech issues "fake news". Ur better off teaching urself.
This class was simple for me because I had previous Excel knowledge. In the beginning, there were a few technical errors. Throughout the semester, deadlines for assignments were constantly postponed. The tests were worth a lot, but there were many study tools online that helped. Put in the work to complete assignments and read the textbook!
This class was absolutely horrible. She has three degrees in tech but doesn't know how to use technology. She doesn't respond to emails and is not very helpful during office hours. The class itself is so much homework, but it's not super hard. There is the possibility of her curving your grades down, so watch out for that. Very Unorganized.
MIS 301 class was super disorganized. Exams have very high weightage, but there are a lot of other assignments to boost your grade. Doesn't really respond to emails, but TAs respond very quickly. I don't think she is a terrible professor like many are claiming, but I feel like there are better professors out there for MIS301.
Dr. Moliski is a great teacher and even better person. Loved having her for MIS 301 this semester and she really understands the concepts she is teaching
I was worried about MIS being difficult, but I found it to be one of my easier classes this semester. If you pay attention in lectures and take notes, it will definitely help when it comes time to study for the test. Test questions largely come from chapter quizzes at end of chapters in the textbook.
MIS 302 isn't bad at all. Excel is super easy and I've never touched it before this. Tests are open note and open internet. It is an easy A if you do the bare minimum. Just go to class do the reading and the excel and you will be fine. She's also really accommodating. The only con is that she can be a little passive aggressive.
Such a nice understanding Professor who clearly knows her stuff. She has such an impressive career and accomplished so much but never makes you feel stupid or her content difficult to understand (can't say that for a lot of profs). I am not a huge fan of excel or passionate about business but taking this class was fun and definitely manageable.
While this class is doable, outside work must be done. The professor is nice, but is not a great teacher. She lectures quickly and for very long periods of time.
Moliski was super nice. The class itself was not super difficult. Reviewing the textbook is crucial to doing well on the tests, as the tests are not on the lectures but are on the textbook. She encourages participation and is not bothered when someone would get something wrong. I recommend taking her.
The class wasn't too hard but the quizzes were obviously made to tank people's grades to meet her GPA average requirement. As long as you complete the assignments and study you'll be fine in this class. But she's kind of rude in her lectures and the class overall doesn't feel very organized.
This class has a lot of homework/assignments. The weekly quizzes are very hard, with little time to complete them. Professor Moliski is outgoing and continuously tries to engage the class which can be hard to do over video streaming. The information I have learned in this class is very useful for jobs and work with computers/excel in general.
Her class isn't hard but her lectures are so miserable to sit through (boring). To prepare for the exam you literally just have to read the textbook and hope for the best. Her HW load isn't bad though compared to other MIS professors
While Professor Moliski is nice, her lectures were long and felt like they would never end. The workload isn't too bad for the class, and the textbook is your best friend. That being said, I liked how Moliski would encourage participation and I've definitely learned a lot of applicable content through this class (mostly from the textbook).
She changed it up this semester. The timed quizzes are tough with only 15 mins to answer 10 poorly worded questions. I spend more time trying to understand the questions instead of doing them. She claims that the quizzes should be super quick, but not with the fact that she has you do a whole 10-step problem to answer just ONE question.
I don't recommend Dr.Moliski. She seems nice at first but comes off as really passive aggressive and degrading towards her students. First time I've seen a professor actually want her students to do bad...she preaches the fact not too many students can get A's in her class...kinda messed up :/
Grades for class come mainly from attendance polls, a few group projects, and exams. Dr. Moliski is pretty chill and caring but might get upset if you ask her to repeat something. Make sure to read the online textbook since the exams exclusively cover that content.
Worst teacher ever. Really two-face to be honest. She'll act nice in front of us but actually want us to do bad. Her true colors started to show later on in the semester and so many things she said were so backhanded and mean.
The class was just eh. I feel like I learned a bunch of useless information that I won't be able to apply anywhere. The teacher is also bad. She was alright at the beginning but her lectures soon turned into reading off the slides and copying whatever the textbook says. Test and quiz questions are uncomprehendable and made to trick you.
Really nice and seems to care about her students. Lectures were boring, but not important to listen to. Tests were basically just based on textbook info and homework load was pretty light.
The content of the class is simple but her timed quizzes and tests are not. You have to watch lectures and read the textbook to get all the material and the questions are weirdly worded, making things harder than they need to be. She's very nice and helpful but even with putting in full effort and understanding, this is not a straightforward A.
The quizzes are tricky and not the best worded. They are timed 15 minutes for 10 questions. They are open book, but she usually asks very specific things so the book isn't much help when there's a time constraint. You have to read the whole textbook in order to take the quizzes/tests to feel somewhat prepared. The hw assignments are easy at least.
I don't think that she was that great of a teacher. This class was supposed to be an easy A for me as a comp sci major but I barely got an A-. Tests had really dumb questions and it wasn't easy to know what she'd put on there.
She is extremely inconsiderate and really just a terrible professor. She acts like she teaches everything but really just teaches the easiest parts of each excel unit/tech chapter. I couldnt tell you a single thing she taught me but the excel textbook was good. Dont take this professor.
Honestly, the content is not difficult, the professor is. The lectures are pretty awful, the exams are completely random and up in the air. The homework is frustrating, you'll see if you take the class :). At first, this class will seem organized, but it is so thrown together. This class feels like if Michael Scott ran a class, hilarious, but bad.
Alright all. I want you to imagine getting tortured in fire. This is what this class is. Not only does Liz proudly announce that not a lot of students get A's, but she makes the exams extremely random, the quizzes and homework so frustrating and lengthy, and its almost like smashing your pinky toe into a wall 400 times. Take the class, you'll see
Ive never met a professor who is hell bent on giving as few amount of A's as she is. This class is disorganized and honestly makes no sense. You learn excel and random mis topics. The tests and quizzes are SUPER difficult, and her lectures are way too fast. Go to the ta for help, he is the polar opposite of the prof and only reason im passing tbh.
I felt so cheated on the exams, especially with the Excel questions. They are unlike what is asked of us on the HW and assignments. I think Liz is nice, but I dislike how she touts that this is not meant to be a hard class, while also saying she doesn't give out many As. There's an annoying amount of HW and reading/review quizzes due every week.
I went into this class so excited to learn more about Excel because I had used it all of high school. I was so disappointed by the professor and her ways of teaching. Oh, wait... she basically does not teach you anything. She is unclear about what she is doing when she is saying things. She is also so insanely inconsiderate. DON'T RECOMMEND!!!!
This class was hard for no reason. She made the tests super hard so no one could get an A. Her lectures were way too fast and she always contradicted herself. The TA was the only good thing of the class as he explained things a lot better than the professor. Problem was he was not the most available. Take this at CC or w a different professor.
This class was difficult but the content was very interesting and usable (especially the Excel portion). If you want to do well in the class you need to put in a lot of work. Reading is heavy. There are reading quizzes and content quizzes every week along with homework assignments. Be ready to put in the time and effort for an A.
Be prepared for a rigorous academic journey. This class is challenging, with an abundance of work and numerous projects to navigate. While it demands a lot of time and dedication, it's a testament to the depth and breadth of the subject matter. Despite the workload, Moliski is a good professor.
She is a snarky professor who, at times, does genuinely care about your learning but is also not hesitant to question your intelligence. Very easy to get a B in the class with the curve, but if you are seeking an A, expect to work for it. I wouldn't recommend taking this class if you don't need it, lots of time and stress for an intro-level course
I didn't like her as a person, she seemed kind of entitled, however the class itself was informational and I didn't find it too hard to make an A. Just need to make sure you don't get behind on anything
This class is online but does require attendance along with in person exams. 2 exams are worth 25% each and requires self studying to be successful. Overall, the class wasn't too bad and the work besides test prep was pretty light. People don't like the class because of the test weight but also dont study for them on their own. Review the textbook!
Shout to the ta nick, he fr the only reason a lot of us passed. the prof is hard to get in contact with and doesnt help with answering questions. She is a little stuck up and not the most organized. tests were insanely hard, but ta holds test reviews; go to those. be prepared to do a bunch of work for atmost a B+/A-, she aims to give few A's.
She is absolutely the best professor I've had at UT. She is incredibly caring and its clear that she wants the best for her students and prioritizes being accommodating and responsive with the chat. Her lectures are well structured and move at a great pace with weekly quizzes at the beginning of the week and instapolls throughout every lecture.
Do not take Liz Moliski. She yelled at me during office hours over Zoom. Personally, I understand that screen sharing takes a bit of patience due to the delay; however, her reaction towards me was extremely unnecessary. The material wasn't too bad, but it was extremely textbook heavy, and the tests were difficult. Choose another professor!
Worst lecturer ever, but even worse person. I am a disability student and she straight up didn't give me any accommodations and after, shamed me for not being able to keep up with the class due to my disability. rude, unhelpful and exercises her privilege to shame others. save yourself some emotional distress. don't take her class.
Completely incompetent in everything she does
I do not see why people say this class is hard, as long as you know how to use computers its a fairly easy A. The professor has been kind in most interactions in class however, she tends to go off topic often and somethings talks about things that do not pertain towards the lesson. Overall she's decent and the class was pretty easy.
Very kind and caring professor, being an online class with so many students she really did try to reach everyone and not make it overwhelming. Also sends reminders for due dates since sometimes all the assignments can be confusing. Overall, she has more patience than any professor I've had and tried to give as much credit as possible.
Her class is structured extremely well, she cares about what she's talking about and is interested to hear from different perspectives. The assignments are very easy and won't take long at all. Consists of reading reviews, excel trainings and projects, instapolls, and 3 group projects. There are 2 exams but as long as you go to the lectures, EASY A
She's great! Genuinely cares about her students and is very accommodating toward people's circumstances. The workload is a little heavy, but it's mostly busy work and not hard at all. Tons of drops too! Overall, this is a very easy A
I found the class hard largely because the content is hard to understand and goes super in depth with technology. She will not teach Excel, so pay attention to the trainings. The few times I interacted with her she was not very kind, although I think she is good at lectures and the InstaPolls make you focus in class. Make sure to read!
Moliski is sometimes very nice and understanding but also very passive aggressive. Regardless, the lectures are not very important and everything tested on is within the textbooks. There are many assignments, however they are all very easy.
Moliski is boring during lectures and somewhat unorganized. She seems busy af and comes off as passive aggressive/not super friendly at times. Read the textbook and you'll get a A on the exams. Class is honestly really easy, so professor didn't matter too much. Slightly pay attention for instapolls during lecture (she drops 20 tho)
She was a very good professor who actually listened to student feedback and made changes to her course accordingly. There's a lot of content, but tests are all open note and internet so it's honestly not difficult. Weekly quizzes but they're only 6% of your whole grade. Harder of the business minor classes for sure, but not bad at all.
Okay... Alright......
honestly i feel like this class is what you put into it, i am in the 9 week course so its more fast paced but still able to pass. although everything is open note, i still struggled lol
As long as you stay on track with the readings, quizzes and Excel assignments, you'll get a decent grade. Lectures are about interesting topics, but prof teaches them in a boring way. Textbook readings are long, relatively unnecessary. Exams were mostly fair and not proctored, so no issues on that end. Go to office hours for Excel help.
I contribute most of my learning to the lecture slides and textbook. The lectures were straightforward, and she cared for the students' learning. I did really well in all of the assignments, projects, etc. However the grade is test heavy, and the tests have uncovered questions. In the one time I've talked to her, she was passive agressive and rude.
Super rude both in person and in emails. If you come to her with an issue, she will just make you repeat everything you've already tried and then act like you're brainless one. Any solution she does give will be one that completely misunderstands the problem. Textbook readings are too long and mostly useless. At least the class was really easy.
All I have to say is don't take this course if you can find another. She is extremely rude to students when they have a problem especially technical stuff. It seems she is too busy to be a kind person. She makes it very clear that she's the smartest in the room. Not a good way to encourage learning in my opinion!
If you're taking this you better be brilliant and not sensitive. She makes me cry just about every interaction
If you can find another course — take. It. The class of great content and overall very easy but the professors presence is extremely stressful. She is a master at excel and will not hesitate to make you feel stupid.
Quizzes and tests are designed to trick you. Even if you fully understand the content, you will likely get a 70 or 80 on an exam just because of how she words them.
Very confusing class. She says one thing in class and the syllabus says another thing. She does not acknowledge when she's wrong in class and will blame students. There are definitely other business classes you can take instead of this one. Excel HW's are easy. Quizzes and reviews get more difficult as the class goes on.
Not the worst professor to exist, but definitely doesn't make the content more digestible or enjoyable to learn. Pretty straight forward class in terms of layout but in general the questions aren't clear. If there's a problem with the instapoll during class it's overlooked and considered a drop but they should be used for absences/fault of our own.
The exam and quiz questions are NEVER straightforward, and the content is hard to understand, especially as a class taken by many non-business majors. The professor said she was satisfied with the midterm average being a B, which is nuts. This has been the most challenging class I've taken so far, take something else.
The class is manageable if you stay on top of the readings and assignments. Lectures can be dry, but unstuck ai was a lifesaver for exam prep. Overall, a decent course.
I think Dr. Liz is misunderstood. She cares deeply for her classes and is always willing to make changes for her students. She doesn't repeat herself sometimes bc she really won't tolerate questions she already answered, but lowkey fair. They truly hate to see a computer-savvy woman in STEM.
Based on past reviews this class has clearly got better. Not too difficult but SO boring and SO disorganised. Canvas page is a mess and you're basically working around her to post assignments last minute so you can never plan your schedule ahead. Online lectures take so long as she's always checking the chat!
This professor does not adequately teach the material. The material that she does teach in class is never actually included in her AI-generated tests. If you have to take MIS301, and she's the only option, take it next year instead.
She was kinda impatient with people. After seeing her answer questions from my classmates during times when we were working on a project, I never dared to raise my hand. She is a decent lecturer but this class made me not want to pursue MIS anymore.
This is the easiest of the business minor classes. You'll get out what you put into it. Try and you'll get an A, don't and you won't get an A. Tests are open note and quizzes/projects are easy if you try. While the content itself is boring, the lecture slides do a good job of outlining what's important for the test. The Excel stuff is useful too.
Not sure why her reviews are negative, she is a great professor who knows what she is talking about. There are no midterms or finals, just 3 tests that are not cumulative. 2 group projects that are very easy, easy excel work with many attempts, lowest quiz grade is dropped. To make it all better: extra credit at the end. Highly recommend!
Honestly super easy class. There are 5 instapolls every class, but she posts the slides before class so you have the questions. Excel projects are super easy and she encourages AI usage to learn how to use excel. Two group projects which were annoying but easy. Exams aren't difficult if you pay attention in class.
She's awesome. Very very smart woman and she is super flexible and understanding with her students.
I know Liz has terrible ratings on here but I really don't see why. This class was super straightforward especially after watching lectures and reading/skimming the book. If you put in the effort you will do fine.
she expects you to already know what she's talking about. if you don't already know about tech, good luck. very fast paced and passive aggressive with questions. 2 tests worth 55% of your grade is insane. also expects you to just know excel and follow her within 1 second
Class of doom and despair. She will mention at least once per lecture that she's worked at Apple. She will yell at you if you ask questions, and yell at you if you don't. Group projects are so bad. Overall not that hard. Hardest part is sitting through the lecture, and acting like you want to be there.
Lectures are pretty good. Got to learn a couple of cool things that are applicable in terms of business and excel. She flexes a lot about working at Apple and investment banking. Tests are decent - some confusing wording but overall not bad. Excel projects are very useful. Definitely not as bad as people make her out to be. I would recommend.
Overall, the class is not that hard, if you keep up with reading and do excel homework you will do fine. Dr. Liz is not the friendliest, she will call you out for not engaging in class, be condescending in emails, and brag about herself only. The hardest part of this class was showing up, lectures are boring and she doesn't make them any better.
She was a great professor for this class. Instapoll is only 3% of your grade, and there was extra credit for the class. The exams are easy if you go over the material and practice Excel, and she drops 2 quizzes and one Excel homework. This class was super chill, and she was a great lecturer. I definitely recommend taking her.
lowkey skimmed the textbook but took good notes and passed. she's a little snappy if no one answers. take notes bc u can use them on exams. 2 group projects and 7 quizzes that are 5 questions each done in class. she lectures well but the class is kinda boring. excel part was useful though and the excel HW is also easy
This class isn't too difficult if you study and compile your notes (ctrl+f is your friend). I didn't love the professor because she would occasionally make rude comments about students, not necessarily to their faces but still frustrating. We had a handful of group projects but they weren't too bad and were graded pretty fairly.
The class was not bad and is doable. There are only 2 exams so they are weighted quite a bit and the true/false ones are tricky. Hardest part about group projects was getting group members to respond to you. She is also very rude for no reason and will yell at you. She has an attitude when you ask questions in office hours or through email.
Dr. Moliski creates her tests to trick students. She says she doesn't but all the answer choices will have the "good" answer and then the "better" answer. Her lectures were extremely boring, and the textbook was extremely long and tedious. She will test you on random things you read. She does not prepare you well for the exams.
got a 53 on exam and ended with a B so huge curve. lectures are useless. probably the most bs mccombs class ive taken and one of the worst profs. but at least it was online so...
Miss. Moliski was a caring and compassionate teacher overall in my experience. On the excel homework we had, we only get 5 tries but when I showed up to office hours, she gave me 5 more tries just so I could get the perfect score! She always had office hours available and the assignments we had were easy and doable. Overall, excellent teacher!
I recommend going to every class. I found the exams to be pretty tough, but if you read the book, you should be fine. Overall, it's a great class with a dedicated teacher. (Also, don't be afraid to ask for help; other comments here say she's mean, but I found her to be easy to talk to.)
She never releases the grade
Very kind, and makes sure to answer all questions. The group projects in an online course are annoying but straightforward. Excel homework allows multiple attempts with specific feedback, quizzes are timed 15 min, tests are long but there's only 2. Mostly open resource, no lockdown browser. Instapolls in every class.
I was worried about her RMP rating, but the class was super easy. You have to have a good understanding of the material for the test and study the week before, but the tests are open AI and book. Try to raise your hand in class or she will get a little frustrated. Learning Excel is so useful! I would 100% take again. I learned lots about technology
I have no idea how her RMP is so low. This class rocks for what it is. Prof. Ghini is so sweet and really wants every student to succeed. Tests are open note, open internet. Not sure why she is getting so much hate, I maybe spend >5 hours a week on this class and have a 100%.
Dr. Liz's RMP is misleading. She really cares about the content, and the textbook, assignments, and lectures are coherent and well-integrated. At times, she can come off as condescending, but she truly just wants people to participate and understand the content, and she means well.
Love love love. She is the most caring professor I have ever had. Easy A. Tests and quizzes are open note, open AI, open everything. 8 homeworks and they are easy, 1 drop. 3 projects, also easy. You have to be actively trying to fail to get anything below an A-. I would take all her classes if I could. You can tell she loves teaching and the topic.
55% of the grade is based on tests. Attendance is mandatory (she does 4-5 instapolls each class). The tests are online and the excel homework can be time consuming but not too difficult. She is a kind and caring professor, she just takes a LONG time to grade stuff. Group projects are also graded difficult and not "give me" grades.
Attendance is mandatory through instapolls, but you get about 5 days you can miss so not too bad at all. The exams were long and tricky, if you don't really learn the excel they will be difficult, there are also quizzes every two weeks, online, but not enough time. The lectures tried to be engaging but felt short sometimes.
Ghini ensures students understand the material. She ensures to read questions and comments. The class felt like common sense at first, but then the first exam came up. She makes her exams to test critical thinking using class concepts. She provided extra credit opportunities. 2 Group projects, and weekly excel homeworks very doable.
