I was so scared about anatomy. Liz made it fun. Lab was always light-hearted. I learned a lot from her!
Awesome! Love Liz more than words can say
If you get a choice BE SURE to get Liz's lab. She is absolutely hilarious and really knows anatomy. I love that she is a nurse and can give a different perspective on how anatomy works in the real world. She is really fair with grading. If you come to lab, stay, and participate she will make sure you have a heads up for what's on the next quiztest
Anatomy is hard. There is no getting around it. Plan to spend hours upon hours of studying for this class. I looked forward to class every week, though. Liz is smart, sweet, and, lets face it, extremely hot. Don't be put off by her young appearance - she is amazing! You will learn a lot in her lab.
Great lab! Get Liz if you can- you won't be disappointed
Let's get real. Anatomy is the hardest class I've ever taken. Don't expect this to be an easy A. That said, Liz made this class is so much more bearable. My favorite professor so far.
Elizabeth ( Liz) is an awesome teacher for anatomy. I had to take anatomy again because I missed to many classes for work. Taking it this time from Liz was SOOOOO much better. She grades extremely fair (doesn't worry about spelling like some teachers), but you need to study for a quiz as there is one every week. Her test are easy though if u study
Great professor!
Liz has rocked my socks. I'm actually sad to see this semester winding down. Lablectures are very engaging and informative. Liz clarifies concepts that I struggle with. Working with cadavers is not my favorite part but I suppose it's necessary. Be prepared to study HARD for this course. Liz will make you work for your grade - but I love her!
I am so thankful for Liz this semester. I can tell that she really cares about us and our success. I am impressed with her knowledge of anatomy and medicine in general. Her nursing background mixed with anatomy is really interesting. Thank you professor Liz!!
I can't place, exactly, what it is about Liz. She just radiates and you can feel it. She radiates her love for anatomy, for her students, and for medicine. Anatomy is the hardest class I have ever taken but I looked forward to seeing Liz every week. She is so cute - at one point our class was laughing so hard we were in tears.
How do I love thee, Liz? Let me count the ways. Nope, not humanly possible. My pre-med life sucks but Liz is one of the most amazing professors I've ever had. Isn't there some sort of award she should be getting?
Liz is hands down the best professor I've ever had at SLCC, and Im graduating this semester so I've seen my share. She makes an extremely tough subject, easier. She wants to see you succeed and will explain things until you understand. She's so sweet and will help you if something comes up in life. I'm sad to not see her anymore!
If you do ONE right thing in life it will be to take Anatomy lab from Liz! There is a reason she is in the top 5 highest rated professors in all of SLCC! This class requires a lot of studying but she will make sure you are prepared for the quizzes and that you understand the material. She genuinely cares if her students succeed!!
Oh my gosh, Liz there is so much to say about her! She is the greatest professor I have ever had. This is my second time taking anatomy and if I had to take it ever again (Which I hope not haha ) I would take her a million times over. I cannot believe I didn't take her the first time. She really cares about her students. I looked forward to lab.
Be sure to take lab from Liz. She will make it so worth it. I actually looked forward to lab - a rare occurrence for me. Hands down, one of the best professors out there. What matters most is that Liz actually cares about her students and whether we succeed or not. What a breath of fresh air! I learned so much this semester my brain could explode!
Anatomy about killed me but Liz was so helpful and wonderful. I had some stressful life circumstances and Professor Romrell worked with me (and gave me one of the biggest bear hugs I've ever had). It was so nice to know she was always there for us. Not only a wonderful professor, Liz is a beautiful person inside and out. A heart of gold.
Can't say I love cadavers but I suppose it's part of the course. I love that we listened to classical music during the final to soothe our nerves. This was such a unique experience for me. Thanks Liz for making it so incredible! I admire your intelligence and way with people. I've never felt accepted in social settings but you made me feel special
Definitely a massive amount of information being thrown at us every week but that's anatomy for you. It was easy to get discouraged but it was comforting to know Liz is on our side and wants us to do well
Best professor ever! I wish you taught more classes. There's always a waiting list :-/
I think the thing that I love the most about this class is the cadavers. Putting them together with the way Ms. Romrell taught really solidified the information in my head. I can see how this course would be very difficult if the time required studying wasn't done. I would plan on at least 2-3 hours a day of studying.
This girl loves her student and will bend over backwards to help. I think, in my inexperienced state, that I'd prefer a professor who cares about ME as a person, than the grade that they can be pull out of me. Not to say Liz isn't challenging! You'll work for your grade! But she is at least resonable and easy to work with
Liz was such a good professor. She is fair with grading and gets you well prepared for her tests. She doesn't count spelling against you which is big in anatomy because most professors doc you for incorrect spelling. Show up to class, go to as many open labs as you can and you will pass. Seriously take lab from liz!
Anatomy is one of those classes that humbles you to the core. I thought I was smart but as I got into anatomy I realized I know nothing! I don't know how Liz does it. She's a triple threat but she saved me!! She won't bs you but, damn, this girl is brilliant. And she LOVES us and isn't about trying to impress though. I kinda wish she was single
Awesome lab! I learned so much from Professor Romrell. This was a great experience!
I really hope Professor Romrell teaches lecture in the future. Also, I've asked her this before but can she teach physiology too? This would make things so amazing!
This semester isn't even over and I'm already going to miss Professor Liz. There's got to be a way to get her teaching more sections. More lecture? Physiology? Why isn't she being utilized better? This girl is priceless! A true testament that amazing things come in tall, unlikely and beautiful packages
This was a very informative class! And not just because I learned anatomy. I like how Liz ads clinical experience into her lectures. This really made the information stick!
This was a really great well-thought out class. I can't say I really enjoyed the cadavers but it's necessary to use them. Liz is great! She made a really difficult subject and situation (cadavers) bearable.
I am writing this from the perspective of being Liz's TA. This was one of the most valuable experiences I've ever had. Liz was very respectful of me and treated me as an equal colleague. She gave me the opportunity to actually teach a few times! I love the confidence she gave me and I learned so much as a TA!
Although I didn't get the grade I hoped for I still really enjoyed this class. Professor Romrell is so pleasant and fun. Hard class with so much to learn.
Killer class!
Best lab teacher to have for anatomy by far. It is not an easy class, but she makes it manageable and helps you learn the material you need to know. Take her if you can!!
I've been dreading anatomy so much that it's set me back a year. Liz said that she was sad that so many future excellent healthcare workers are weeded out by this class. Because of her I didn't drop out when I wanted to. I passed but mostly because I didn't want to let her down. If you're like me DON'T WAIT! Liz is inspiring and amazing!
Seriously brilliant. I loved having Liz as my teacher. Hands down, the best professor I've ever had and I'm a transfer from the U.
Format of course was very organized and clear. Grading criteria was clear as well. Ms. Romrell was very fair (sometimes more than I deserved) and I appreciate the time and effort that she put into the course. Nothing to do with Ms. Romrell but I wish there were more ways to get into her lab. There seemed to be enough seats but was capped off at 25.
By far the best class I've ever taken. SLCC has more cadavers than I've ever seen at any other college. Liz was great! She really wants to us to do well. Sometimes I feel like professors are angry at the world and just want to take it out on us. Not so with Liz. So refreshing to say the least. Give her a big hug and kiss from me please!
Professor Romrell was an answer to my prayers. I actually felt at total peace after I finished my first lab. I knew I had been inspired to have her. Anyway, her bright personality, wit, sarcasm (in a fun way) and extreme knowledge in anatomy saved me this semester. She is a breath of fresh air - especially when the air smells like cadavers :)
Liz is really amazing she takes the time to make sure you know what is expected and I feel like she is very understanding. She has funny little things to help you remember certain pathways. She really is amazing!! TAKE HER! I suck at anatomy and she was so much help! And she does not make you feel stupid EVER!
Liz is an excellent instructor. Shes whip smart, funny, and really cares about her students. Show up and actively participate and she will help you in every way. Take advantage of open labs and don't hesitate to ask questions.
I can't remember the last time I became emotional over the end of a semester. I was really sad to see this class end. This has been my favorite class EVER and mostly because I will miss Liz. She is one of my most favorite people inside and outside of school. You will never regret taking class from Liz!
I LOVE HER! Probably the best anatomy lab instructor to take this class for.
Summer semester was brutal. BUT I thoroughly enjoyed coming to lab! Professor Romrell is very fun, witty and ultra knowledgeable in medicine and sciences. She is very approachable and interested in our feedback. Don't assume her sweet personality means she's easy, though. She makes you work for your grade and expects very much out of her students.
I loved this course and hope to TA for Liz in the future. But, I was disappointed in some of the students in the class. I could see that they were trying to take advantage of Liz's nice personality. Thankfully, she didn't have anything to do with it and expected the same from all of us. She is very understanding of life but expects errort from us
I like how Professor Romrell sticks to the material. I felt like my time in her class was well spent. A lot of professors fill their time with you dont need to know this but... information.
Liz is an amazing teacher! She knows that Human Anatomy is a difficult Subject and she will help you in any way she can. This is my second time taking Human Anatomy and I believe it will be my last. She offers extra credit and her lectures go smoothly and quickly. She answers questions and is always extremely nice and approachable.
Liz is an amazing teacher. She made a hard class fun and exciting. Be ready to study though. She tests you on things you go over in class so no tricks and she gives you a chance to earn extra credit on your midterm and final. Plus, she is one of the sweetest teachers. She is easy to get a hold of and posts your grades quickly.
Holy smokes! That was the HARDEST class Ive ever taken in all of my 40 years. Be ready to study, study, study (at least a few hours a day). That said, Professor Romrell is the BEST instructor to take it from. She is very clear on what will be tested on. There are no surprises come testing time. The tests are practicals so be prepared!
Run, do not walk, to register for Lizs class! This is my third time taking Anatomy and it finally makes sense - thanks to Liz and her TAs. She respects our time and doesnt add extra information that she doesnt think is immediately helpful. Its easy to get overwhelmed with the required information so its nice to not have to worry about that.
I will be taking this class again but I will definitely be taking it from Prof. Romrell again. I know that I didnt pass because of my own issues. Next time I know to stay the entire lab time and go to open labs. I learned so much from her lectures I figured I could leave right after. Thats not a good idea, FYI, since half of the tests are cadaver
Liz is so sweet! She really wants you to succeed. She doesn't try and trick you with her tests or quizzes. I am going to miss having Liz as my teacher. I would recommend her to anybody.
Liz really cares about her students and she's an excellent professor. Having good professors like her always encourages me to succeed. There's a catch though, as least for this semester, her lab assistant did most of the teaching. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against her lab aid, it was just unfair to have someone else teach the class for her
I had such a great semester! Like the previous reviewer said, there was one class where the lab aid taught but it was one of the more senior ones. Professor Romrell was still there and helped her teach. I think she was under the weather. I love that there werent any surprises or tricks on her tests and quizzes. We got a lot of fun bonuses too.
She is incredible and more than willing to help. So very sweet and knowledgeable. I recommend going to class and as many open labs as possible. Incredibly tough class but she helps things be easier to remember.
She is very compassionate, helpful, caring . Extra credit is available. But its human anatomy, you will have to do your part. Tests are before every lab class. I would absolutely take her again.
Im only halfway through this semester but I already know how much I love Liz. Lab correlates beautifully with lecture. I appreciate that Liz doesnt try to make things harder than they already are. The required content is near impossible already but she whittles it down in a way that makes it bearable. She has a great sense of humor that I adore!
This is the best class Ive ever taken. I have enjoyed every bit of Liz. I have learned SO MUCH from her and am now extremely excited to move forward with my medical career. Clear grading, testing, and lectures are phenomenal. The world makes just a little more sense now :) Not to mention she is EXTREMELY easy on the eyes...
Only one month into the semester and I already love Professor Romrell. She is very straightforward, no nonsense, and clear. Her lectures are captivating and so helpful. She is also very fair and encouraging. So glad I was able to get into her class!
Amazing teacher! She is hilarious and understands anatomy is a difficult course so she helps you a lot. Daily quizzes worth 10 points each class, 1 midterm 75 questions and a final 75 questions. No extra credit. Expect to study and go to open labs because it is a hard class but manageable.
Great semester! Quiz every week, one midterm and one non-comprehensive final. Totally doable especially if you attend open labs. Liz is super knowledgeable, approachable and one of the best professors out there. This is a tough course so make sure to leave plenty of study time. Save it to take alone or with another easy course.
Toughest class Ive ever taken but there was so much help! Open labs saved me. Liz is so great! So very knowledgeable and super willing to clarify. Lizs lectures made so much sense and helped me immensely with lecture too. SLCC has a great anatomy program and its because of the teachers and aides. Such a great experience! Plan to study a lot!
Liz was awesome. Anatomy is a hard subject but she gives you every tool to be successful. This class definitely requires effort. STAY AFTER CLASS IF YOU WANT TO PASS!!! I would stay after and she and the lab aides would review everything over and over and over again until you are satisfied. Liz has a plethora of knowledge. I passed because of her.
Professor Romrell is awesome! She truly wants us to do well and gives us all of her time and energy. Be prepared to study A LOT and go to open lab. I have learned so much! The lab aides are all amazing as well. Love this program!
Liz makes Anatomy a little less stressful. Anatomy is an extremely time consuming class and you need to be prepared for it regardless of which professor you take. Liz was always fair, and her lab aide was always very helpful. Go to open labs, but dont let lab take over your lecture studies either. Take it from Liz, you wont regret it.
Prof. Romrell is amazing! The department is standardizing its tests so its so nice Liz is fair with her grading. I also like her method of teaching with a little bit of lecture/instruction after the quiz and then the rest of lab is cadavers. I can tell really loves teaching and cares about us!
Liz is really sweet and cares about her students. She wants everyone to succeed and will help you get there. You'll need to study a lot for this class and really put in the amount of effort for the grade you want.
It's anatomy so get ready to memorize - that can be hard. But Liz really wants you to succeed. Very generous with her grading. She answered every email quickly. So accessible. I wish she would teach every class I have to take.
Pretty much your standard professor. You do the work, you get your grade.
Anatomy is a HARD class and you have to work for your grade there is no way around that but taking lab with Liz makes it less stressful. She is very easy with grading and understands the load of material and does not expect you to know every little thing. I had her as a student and I got to be her lab aid so trust me when I saw she is the BEST!!
Liz is a phenomenal teacher! This class was really hard. Especially since it was fully online. But Liz was available to help, had great Aids, and was overall understanding and great to work with. Would 100% take a class from her again.
Liz was amazing. I wanted to become her aid and help her in labs with getting such a good grade. Than covid happened. Take her by all means. Hands down best anatomy lab instructor at slcc. So nice and friendly. Very professional as well.
I didn't even have Liz as a professor this semester. With online school, all of the professors offered open study sessions and labs to any student. I always made sure to attend Liz's study sessions and open labs because I learned the most from her. She makes everything so clear and learnable. She is also very encouraging and supportive. I'm in awe!
Liz is, hands down, the best professor Ive ever had. She was always accessible to reach, legitimately cared about us, and gave amazing lectures. She is VERY underutilized by the college. I am sad that she only teaches a couple of labs. She could be doing so many amazing things. Please talk her into teaching Physiology (at least)! A hidden gem!!
Pretty much your average class at SLCC. She told you the schedule on day one and stuck to it. Tests are normal; lots of reading. Get in a study group if you can - helps a lot. Lots to memorize.
Liz had three Zoom study/help sessions every week and worked one-on-one with me for hours! Doing the practice quizzes is a must. I also attended open labs and they were awesome! Make time for open lab. Youll get much needed instructor time. Im sure things will change with COVID and lab being in person soon. Liz is great! Highly recommend her.
Professor Romrell (Liz) is fantastic! Super knowledgeable, fair with grading and was actually the reason I decided to continue in the nursing program (havent heard great things from former retired RNs about the current job market). Great instructors are becoming harder and harder to come across. Liz is the very best Ive had and is amazing!
The anatomy program at SLCC is phenomenal. Most of the professors and aides are incredible. Prof. Romrell definitely lives up to the hype. She is smart and capable but also super approachable and kind. My lecture teacher was a bit of a nightmare but I had Liz to counter that in the cadaver lab. She is not afraid to give out As if you earn them!
Best experience I've had at SLCC yet. I had Dr Romrell for lab & Dr Farr for lecture and it was the BEST combo ever. You will learn so much your head will explode. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Open labs are a MUST. All of the lab professors are great. I went to a lot of open labs and they were all so helpful and nice. Dr Romrell was a lifesave
Liz is THE BEST choice for lab instructor at SLCC. she is compassionate and realistic and she wants her students to succeed. Anatomy lab is just hard, but she made it doable. We had other lab instructors sub during the semester, and it made me even more grateful for Liz.
I really enjoyed this lab. Liz had three lab aides and they were all incredible and so helpful. The grade was based off of weekly quizzes, participation in lab, practice quizzes on canvas, and a comprehensive final. There was a little bit of extra credit too. Liz is such a great professor. Shes totally invested in helping us do well. Amazing!
I would really recommend this course be taken by Liz. It was extremely hard. I would not plan on taking this class with any others. Liz is very encouraging and was understanding of our stress. I recommend going to open lab as well- like set aside a time to go every week. The cadavers still freak me out a little but you get used to it with time.
Liz is a very kind, hard working nurse. But the teaching style just didnt fit for me at least, the class would split up, and listen to liz or her aid go very fast over the content by the book. Its more useful to watch the videos at home, but attendance is graded and missing 1 class is a lot of points. She did seem yo try to pick easier test Q's.
Take Liz!!! She is a great professor who understands what it's like to be a student. She doesn't go out of her way to make things overly difficult as some professors do. She is kind and encouraging and truly wants to see her students do well. Attend class and make sure to put in the work and you'll do great!
I loved Liz as a person. There is so much info given in this course. The class splits up, and you will listen to Liz or her aid go very fast over the book chapter. Spending all of the lecture time doing this didn't help me one bit. A lot of the class would just zone out. It would be better if they gave you time to start memorizing. Quiz every week.
The first 30 minutes Liz & her aid Liz (how funny is that?) went over the stuff in the lab manual as groups then the other 2.5 hours Liz & Liz helped us one on one with cadavers, bones, and organs. She even let us work on some dissections too. I think the people who are not happy are the ones who left right after they were done with the manual info
Professor Romrell is the one to take for lab! She is super fair with grading and we knew exactly what she was looking for as far as which parts of the cadavers, models, etc. It's still an extremely hard class that takes up a huge amount of time. Prelab quizzes every week, in class quiz every week too. But the prelab are open note. Midterm and final
She is amazing. She is so caring and helpful. She makes coming to class very enjoyable and I would Definitely take this class again. She is ver nice when it comes to grading and her teaching skills are the best.
Absolutely the best teacher I've ever had. Truly cares about seeing you succeed and will help you as much as she can. Truly recommend taking her for anything she teaches. Couldn't ask for a better teacher.
Liz is by far one of the most amazing teachers that I have taken at SLCC! She is so caring and happy to help whenever she can. Her class was not only super fun but I am definitely going to miss her class. Anatomy is a tough subject to study but Liz makes it fun. Overall, I would 100% recommend taking Liz for your lab you defiantly won't regret it!
Anatomy is a difficult class and requires lots of studying but Liz definitely made my anatomy experience a good one. I am so glad that I took this class from Liz, not only did I learn so much I had so much fun doing so. She also offers an extra credit assignment around the end of the semester to help boost your grade!
Liz is an AMAZING teacher and person. I looked forward to this class each week and felt Liz did a great job teaching us the material. She gives you helpful suggestions for memorizing information. The structure of the class helps the material to stick. It is extremely evident that Liz greatly cares about her students and loves teaching anatomy.
I absolutely love her. She is not just a great instructor, but a class act human. She will work with you to ensure your sucess. I looked forward to her class each week. While it is a hard class, Liz makes it incredibly interesting and engaging. You might have to choke back tears during the last lab. I was lucky to be her student. I will MISS HER!
Liz is the awesome! The best teacher I've ever had! She truly cares about your success and making sure you understand the material. Liz made class so fun for me and I looked forward to it every week. This class is hard, I won't lie, but if you study and put in the work, you'll do fine! I highly recommend taking this class with Liz!
Liz is an amazing person and teacher. She cares about her students and she is willing to help you learn. There is a quiz every week, but as long as you study, you will do fine. She makes class fun and is super understanding of how busy life can be. I loved this class and she was the only reason I passed Anatomy. I would take her again.
This semester was so great! Liz is the best teacher I've ever had. Like someone else said, you'll cry when it's over, because I did!! There was a weekly quiz on the week before's material. A midterm and a comprehensive final. You also get participation points so plan on being there every week. If you miss you'll be very behind!
Liz is a fantastic instructor. She knows her stuff and is able to convey the material in a fun way that helps you remember what you are learning. She is fun and makes the course fun.
Liz runs her lab like the other anatomy labs. They're all in the same format. Attendance is mandatory, as is the cadaver aspect. That said, Liz is an incredible teacher. She defines what a teacher should be: patient, caring, knowledgeable, and good-natured, but encouraging excellence. I recommend dedicating much time to this class. It isn't easy!
Liz is by far the best professor I have had during my college experience. She knows what she is talking about and is very specific on what she expects from you. This is a tough class but she offers plenty of resources to help you study. She was always good at keeping the class engaged, and I would definitely recommend taking her!
Professor Romrell is fantastic. All of the labs have the same material they cover but I love the way she presents it. I had to attend another lab as a makeup and it made me appreciate the way Liz covers everything in the lab manual instead of making us self-teach. The cadavers aren't very fun but you get used to them :)
Professor Romrell is amazing!!! She also had some helpful lab assistants. Combined, all three were dynamite! This class is HARD! Be prepared to study your buns off! There's no possible way to dumb down when working with body donors. Be prepared - you will be working closely with the cadavers and it's expected that you touch them with gloved hands.
I love Liz, she is a caring and amazing professor. this class is one of the hardest classes at SLCC, be prepared to study your butt off. Liz's grading is clear and she doesn't trick you. We had weekly quizzes, a midterm and a final. The lab is definitely harder than LECTURE so don't plan on taking other classes besides the LAB and Lecture.
Hardest class I've ever taken! Understanding lecture was overwhelming. Then I go to lab and Liz makes it all better. She has a very engaging personality. You can't help but be drawn in. Lab made lecture make so much more sense. This was because of Liz. I think she would make an awesome lecture instructor. Take Liz for lab! You will not regret it.
I seriously loved Liz. This class is so so tough. The amount of material feels impossible to retain. Liz taught it in a way that was memorable and a way that I could understand. She offered so many resources to help study for the quizzes. I don't think I would have passed lab or lecture without her. Highly recommend!!
Liz is a great teacher for anatomy lab!! She comes across as scary but is so sweet and wants the best for her students. She gets straight to the point and will tell you what she will test on. Would take Liz's lab over and over again!
BEST PROFESSOR EVER!! I've attended multiple colleges and Liz is the most caring, fair, and approachable professor I've ever had. She has so much knowledge and pulls clinical relevance into anatomy which makes it easier to understand and remember. Liz is a nursing professor at another college so if you're going into a medical field she is priceless
Professor Romrell's class is challenging but incredibly rewarding. She makes the material engaging and provides great resources to help you succeed, like using Unstuck study for study prep. Highly recommended!
I very much enjoyed Liz's class even though I didn't do as well as I hoped. She is extremely smart and quick-witted. I've also never had a more compassionate professor. She's not a pushover but creates a very welcoming atmosphere where you are never made to feel or look stupid for asking dumb questions. Liz is so so down to earth too.
Liz is a remarkable teacher. Among the best professors I've had. Weekly quizzes on the week's prior information, weekly online post-lab quizzes, a midterm and a final. She explained material from lecture to make it easier to understand. You won't regret taking Anatomy from Liz
Liz is a great teacher for anatomy. I DO NOT like cadavers/donors but she worked with me to become more comfortable. By the end of the semester I was able to work with them along side the other students. I love how patient and nonjudgemental she is. Even with a head injury she made the semester great ;-)
Summer semester is brutal. I am having to retake anatomy after taking it at the U. But, I freaking won the jackpot with Liz! I know that I would have totally failed the semester without her. She's so smart and helpful!! I dare say I enjoyed taking anatomy at SLCC instead of the U. BUT it's NOT easier at all!! Some parts were actually harder. STUDY!
Liz was great! Prelab and post lab activities which were fun. There were weekly quizzes and a ginormous final. I wish there had been more exams to help my grade but I think there wasn't time because of summer. She had two lab aides who were also so much fun. We separated into three groups and rotated around to each one of them. Love Liz!
Professor Romrell is definitely one of the best at SLCC. I've never felt so seen and respected. I transferred from the U because I wasn't happy. It was the best decision ever. My advice is to get right on registration the minute it opens as her classes fill up in minutes. The material comes fast and furious. Pay attention and attend, study and pray
