I have noticed Liza rushes through her power points because she has so many,so try to stay on top of them or you will fall behind. Get ready to memorize every other PowerPoint.

Liza is a good teacher. The only thing I dislike about her class is how her powerpoints are sooo long. Minimum 80 slides every week : Because her notes are so long she tends to rush through the material which makes everyone confused. But overall she's an okay teacher. I wouldn't mind having her again

Liza Sutton is an amazing biology teacher at Douglas. I will definitely be taking her class for 1203. She's very helpful with giving proper study tips. I love the examples she gives when she is explaining something confusing in biology. Biology has honestly been one of my horrible classes but after learning with Liza I can comprehend everything!

She is so nice. She loves teaching biology. However, I would have to agree that her lectures are so long and very boring. She is also a tough marker. She gives bonus questions on quizzes worth 1-5 points, it depends on the chapter. She gives those bonus points because she knows that no one will do good on her 25 quiz questions.

Liza is amazing! She's the nicest and best bio prof ever. I found her quizzes to be easy. Just study her powerpoints and the course pack and you'll be fine. Her lectures may be sometimes boring but its really not that bad. She gives a lot of bonus questions on her quizzes that can boost your mark up by a great amount. Take her class!

Liza is probably one of my favourite profs at Douglas. She is so nice and if you ask her for help she'll explain everything for you in detail. Her lectures are great and weekly quizzes are super easy. I hope I can have Liza for Biol 1203!

Liza is one of the best profs ive had. She is so helpful and very clear with what will be on all her weekly quizzes. If you read her lecture notes the quizzes will be a breeze and you will never need to open the textbook. She is willing to spend time after class if you are struggling or need help in any way. I highly recommend Liza shes the best!!

Liza is super friendly and nice. She'll explain everything if you tell her that you don't understand something. Her quizzes are great and she always has bonus questions that help a lot with your grade. Midterm was super easy. One tiny bad thing about taking her class would be her accent. But its really not that bad.

Wonderful teacher. She made bio interesting and provided many examples to help her students understand concepts. Taking her again this summer for 1203. Highly recommend! :) very nice teacher.

this was my second go at 1103 and liza made it so much better for me to understand,she explains things crystal clear and if you don't understand all you need to do is ask and she will help you until you do. not sure what that person meant below about her saying don't study the recent chapters for midterm, she told us exactly what to study....

very easygoing. her notes are very straightforward and only tells you what you need to know. gives hints for exams . always has time for questions. review questions each week go over exactly what you need to focus on for quizes. i would defintely take her again.

Liza is amazing. Her notes are all you need don't bother with the textbook. The notes cover all needed concepts and details for the midterms, quizzes and finals. She makes the learning great by not rushing through lectures and fully explaining concepts with examples. Ahe is always available for extra help. Don't skip and you will get an A+.

I am really enjoying having Dr. Sutton as a professor. She is very clear on what is important and her lectures and examples are very helpful. I hope to take another class from her this summer. As a side note, I find the ability to rate a professors "hotness" really creepy and objectifying.

Liza is an amazing prof who takes a LOT of hard material and makes it easy to understand. She's caring is willing to help you succeed. Only problem is that she doesn't mark assignments in a timely manner so you won't have feedback on how to improve for the next assignment. Also her group project: easy assignment but pick your partners carefully

Love Liza! super nice and makes a hard class fun. Comes up with shortcuts to help you memorize material. Quizzes are fair. Straight from her slide show. If you study her slide show you will get a 100% on the quiz. Probably one of the best bio teachers at douglas. Really cares about her students, comes up with activities and super funny.

so amazing! i love her as a teacher. lots of opportunity for bonus marks. cares about biology and making sure you understand. easy to learn from, quizzes not difficult, just study. come to class, she drops hints and her lecture slides have blanks that get filled in class.

Liza is amazing, I had her for 1103 and now micro 2401. She is kind and actually cares for her students. She is a failry easy marker and allows you to do well if you work hard. She teachers in a way students understand, and overall maeks the class more enjoyable. Would definently recommend her to anyone looking for a good prof!

Great bio teacher! this is my second time taking bio 1103 after not meeting the prerequisite for bio 1203 with a different prof. I am now getting above 70% with Liza. she is super nice and quizzes are straight forward. Would highly recommend!

Liza is my favourite bio prof and I had her for both 1103 and 2401. She's very good at breaking down difficult material in ways her students can understand and helps you focus on topics that will be covered on exams. Microbiology requires a lot more work/time than 1103 so be prepared to work hard in order to get a good grade!

Very enthusiastic, explains the material well, and genuinely wants students to do well. I found her quizzes prepared me for the midterm and final, and she's aware of which parts of the course students struggle with and tries to help out a bit.

Liza is a phenomenal prof. She's enthusiastic, brings energy and jokes to class, and loves a good wine. Her quizzes prepare you very well for the final and she marks fairly easy. Attend lecture to understand any difficult material as she does a great job of explaining + her slides are clear yet detailed so don't bother studying off anything else!

Liza is the sweetest prof I have ever had, but this course is extremely heavy and you can tell that she feels bad and tries to make the process as simple as possible but you do have to pull your own weight in the end.

slides are very clear and you have access to them after class, exams are all about what you study in class only, fun lectures, easy to understand the material and she would explain everything 3 times if needed, gives review questions after every chapter. one of the best professors I've ever taken!

Liza is by far the best prof there is! Her quizzes and tests are basically what's on her slides. She's very generous w/ giving half marks as long as you show your work! Plus she gives you chocolates so that's like, 11/10 would take her class again!

Liza is organized, energetic and clear. Her slides are very well constructed and the other resources on Blackboard make it possible to not purchase a textbook (bonus). She responds quickly and thoughtfully by email and is accessible during office hours. This course is TOUGH, but Liza is helpful, approachable and wants to see students succeed.

I did not even look at the text book once and have an A. She really cares that her students do well. I recommend her 100%!

took bio 1103, 1203, and 2401 with her. i really enjoyed her teaching style! there are weekly quizzes (easy marks if you study), she doesn't use the textbook, everything will be from her ppt slides (all on BB) - which are pretty straight forward. her lectures are helpful because she teaches things in a way that makes it a lot easier to understand!

I found her class to be pretty straightforward. We get weekly quizzes which have a fair amount of content from the previous lecture but nothing that will confuse you. Overall she is open to help you through questions and is really nice

It was clear that a lot of thought was put into how to make the concepts approachable/memorable. Good worksheets provided. Such good instruction that I didn't even need to use the textbook. I wish I could take all of my bio classes with Liza.

SUCH A GREAT PROF! She explains difficult concepts in an interactive way which helps a lot. Her creative mnemonics really help when trying to memorize. Exams and quizzes are based on pp slides (don't need the textbook) but pay attention to things she points out during class, those are often on exams. Make sure to constantly review material!

So, I was lucky to have such an amazing and great teacher. Lots of sense of humor. She communicates well with all her students. Her tests are from her notes so make sure you dont miss any class, no tricks. She goes above and beyond to make sure you learn things that are important. Lots to read and study, but you can do it, if you put some effort.

Liza is one of the best profs I've had so far! Her quizzes are a little time constricting but easy questions. Midterms were broken down into 3 parts and were overall easy. The Final is non-cumulative. Make sure to do ur citations and species names properly for labs and mini papers. She often gives bonus marks during collaboration sessions.

TAKE HER! Clear quizzes, attendance is an easy 10% and you learn so much in class. She teaches so well that you almost never need to use the textbook. ALL questions are from what you learn and from the notes. Most clear and organized bio notes I've had at Douglas. It has a terrible lab section but Liza has nothing to do with that. shes amazing

Professor Sutton is so sweet and very encouraging. The notes that she provides are very helpful and don't need to reference the textbook at all unless you are not able to understand a certain concept. She provides weekly videos with the concept you will be learning and when attending class she gives good practice questions to test what you know.

Liza was great, 1209 Biology weekly quizzes were tough as she only gave us 15 minutes for 20 questions but the weekly group activity really helped to anwser questions together and understand material. Final exam was tough, as lots of material to cover but very energetic and gave us feedback on quizzes every week I would take her again for sure!

One of the best profs at Douglas. Don't understand textbook readings? Her lecture will help A LOT. She adds memes to her lecture slides and does skits for better understanding of material. She's funny but she does take up the whole block and sometimes a few minutes longer. Weekly quizzes, but lenient with marking because she adds easy bonus Q's.

Shes the best Microbiology teacher ever. Definitely recommend!! She gave us treat bags after lab final and chocolates on the last day of class!! She treats the class with group quizzes to thats a bonus treat. Overall 10/10 would recommend. She really cares about her students getting a high grade so she gives bonus marks :)

Best prof at Douglas College. Her enthusiasm for the material is contagious and inspired me to learn. She makes boring content engaging and creates a safe environment to participate. The textbook isn't needed as her slides are comprehensive. It's important to attend lecture in this class since the content is dense, but Liza makes it enjoyable!

I think it was just the course itself that was hard and I had an 8:30am class which is brutal. Otherwise, Liza was super helpful in terms of when I had difficulty in a concept. Loved that she gives practice quizzes and online quizzes to help you for the actual quizzes.

Best professor I have ever had. Ever. Seriously. Take her. You will not regret. This was a content-heavy course, and may be difficult for some. However, Liza made the course fun and engaging. Do anything in your power to get Liza as your professor! Liza is very funny, clear and easy to follow. She makes memorizing tough subjects easy. I had her for 2200 and 2401 and I wish I could take her for every bio class. The worksheets and case studies help, she gives them out for a reason!

I wish this professor could teach all my future major courses. She is an excellent instructor, and although her classes are heavy, she encourages students very well. This is a dense course from lectures, to case studies, to blackboard pre-quizzes assignments. I'd highly recommend Liza her quizzes, and exams are fair. If you pay attention in class, do your worksheets, and study you will do good in this class. Liza truly does want her students to succeed, and is not trying to trick you when it comes to exams.
