Understand that English is not a very strong subject amongst people. He teaches at a level where there is everything to be questioned and the definition is in your mind and all you have to do is to think. Yes, all we do is read, but it's interesting on a point that all the reading is true. Take this class, I took it on a Friday. It was entertaining

I hate english but he made the class very interesting. Teaches with alot of clarity and makes the class very easy. You just have to pay attention of course. I recommend you to take english with him. You won't regret it!

He was a pretty good teacher. I liked the discussions. It's funny because if you are not planning to answer why you said something, don't even bother saying it at all cuz he WILL ask "why did you say that?". He's a good teacher though. He is helpful. I got a C in the class but I deserved it. I was always late and I missed a couple of essays.

Lots of reading, which sometimes are confusing articles and essays, but really makes you think and support your ideas. Group discussions, which if u don't participate may turn boring, yet u'll learn a lot from this class, not only about english because he's not that picky and respects your own style, but about life and culture. this teacher is pretty easy going however he grades very harshly all essays has to be 4 full pages and there are around 6 essays and a final research paper it is a lot of work..... i felt that the class was beyond eng 1c.... he grades really HARSH...trust me..... i would not recommand anyone to take his class

Aquino is awesome, this class is hard as hell so if you're lazy, go with another prof. but if you're willing to put in the work you will get alot out of his class. Great discussions, and he's really funny and helpful too. harsh grader, and will always ask you why? for everything. He'll teach you how to think, great teacher!!!

I would recommend this professor to anyone looking for a fun & interesting English 67 class. He grades the essays somewhat harsh but still fair, come to class or you will miss out on activity's and hw and essays. He gives out some extra credit so use it to ur advantage. Essay topics are fun to write about and do ur hw and essays & u will pass.

Brilliant teacher.I wasnt interested in Engl.before but he changed that.Hes also a great poet.Need to attend all classes not only because he requires you to,but if you dont youl miss out on class work and good knowlege.He does a great job preparing you for the upper Engl.classes.He is willing to work with you to get the most out of his class

I took this teacher for English 1A. His class is not hard but he does require you use MLA up to part and organization is a plus! He teaches diffrently, using diffrent teaching techniques. He challenges you to actually use your brain!! (if u dnt like that don't take him)... I liked this teacher i recomend him.

Lloyd is an amazing teacher. Looking at the hater below, it is clear why she doesn't like him: she needs to go back to engl 67 and learn some grammar. I used to hate English prior to taking his 1C class. If you can, take him. He opened my eyes to thinking in ways I never could before. Great class, I learned so much. I had fun in his class as well.

He's pretty chill. Keeps the class interested in what he is teaching. His grading, however, is a bit hard. His final was kind of fun to do. Not too hard, not too easy to pass. Fair.

My class read 3 books that were all very interesting. I never thought of critical thinking the way i do now till i took his 1c class. i recomend him. plus he grades on progress

This guy knows his stuff, and he'll help you with anything you need. I didn't read any of the required texts, and i still did fine.

He is a great teacher. Keeps the class interested. Has more modern books. Grades a lil harshly, but thats expected of all english teachers. Beware of essay formats, he strictly looks for prefection. But other than that, he's fun. =P

He is one of the BEST professors i have ever had. He helped me understand much so much that other past english teachers didnt; therefore, he is VERYYYY helpful. One of the greatest teachers i have ever had. Keep class interested and involved. Pleanty group activitiees and class disscussions. If you like to talk and read controversial stories. This is the teacher. You can email your essays to him and he will give you remarks on how to fix it. I did this at least 5 time per essay.He answers emails fast.

He is really an inspiration to us non english majors, makes class fun and enjoyable and takes as much time needed to hel students grasp whatever concepts they may be stuck on. HIGHLY RECOMEND. As I will be taking his class again for section ENG 1A!

This Professor is a great teacher, he never yelled expect when people sleeped in his class. He explains everything and if you pay attention youll pass really understanding and will help after hours. Must be awake and pay attention. Great teacher i recommend him.

Mr. Aquino is a phenomenal teacher! I have never been so easily captivated by a class in a very long time. He explains to you what he expects, but as long as you do the work, show up to class and read the assignments there is no chance of you NOT getting an A. It is such an interesting class and I was able to meet soo many new people. TAKE HIM!

Professor Aquino is absolutely amazing. He puts in as much work into a class as the students do. If you put an honest effort into his class, you will do amazing. I had his class Thursday nights from 7-10, and despite the horrendous schedule, I always looked forward to attending his lectures and partaking in discussions. TAKE HIM.

professor aquino was cool at first but then started getting tougher as the class went on, the class started off with 36 students and by the end of the semester there was like 15 students, i call him the grading Nazi, he grades your essays like if you were an expert at writing, he's an alright teacher but if you suck at essays, he's not for you.

The best lit class I've ever taken. The way he facilitated his lectures really made the class engaging. By the end of the semester the entire class had bonded and became so close! The class was from 7-10pm but no one ever wanted to leave. Take him!

Good teacher, seems cool at first then he goes ballistic and extremely harsh on your essays. He think we're school which is pretty dumb considering it's community college. He looks for every mistake so if you aren't great at essay punctuation or spelling he's gonna be your worst enemy.

I'm currently enrolled in his English 1C class. So far, he seems very clear and fair. Definitely a lot of work - but worth the while if you review your essay with him. GET YOUR ESSAY STARTED EARLY! (Best Advice!) It's only been about the 5 weeks into class, I hope he doesn't turn evil on us, which most people on this website is saying.

He's one of the coolest professors I've ever had. He is down to earth and is into good music and movies. Out of all my English professors he is by far the best and most helpful, i took him twice and got a B twice and probably would of gotten an A if I tried my best... Which I didn't lol. I loved him

He's just a tough grader in general, and he ditches class way too much, like about 6-7 times this semester. Just do all you can to get those extra credit and send in your essays online before turning them in, his comments are pretty helpful. He's pretty chill in class, but I would still say avoid him if possible.

Aquino is a decent professor. Honestly, it was probably only easy for me because I'm a good writer. So if you're a good writer as well, don't be afraid to take. You'll get an A. If writing isn't your strength, this class will be a challenge for you because he is a tough grader. Yeah he ditched class about 1/3 of the time but that was awesome :)

Took Professor Aquino during Summer Intercession for English 68 and all I could say is that I learned so much! It was such a difficult class to take especially coming out of high school but it prepared me for English 1A. If you take his class be prepared to put all your effort into passing. He is a great professor! Makes you think a lot as well ;D

Mr. Aquino is a tough professor because he expects a lot of you but I guarantee that you will learn something new everyday in his class and he will make you look at the things you read differently. Even though it was an English class, we studied the theme of Disorders during the semester. So our essays were usually based on diagnosing characters.

Took during fall semester, only read 2 or 3 novels. I really loved this class and how he taught it. He makes you work for your grade but it's such a great learning experience. About 5 take home papers, which he gives a lot of time to workget help on. 1 research paper, again lots of time to get feedback on. Not really big on tests. Take him!

Aquino is a great professor. Do not be discouraged by the level of work you need to put into the class. You will get an A if you work for it. DO EMAIL YOUR DRAFTS ANDOR COME TO HIS OFFICE HOURS, he is more than happy to give you pointers on how to structure your essays and what he is looking for in them. His clarity is always on point.

Professor Aquino is an awesome professor, but the class is not easy. In ENG68 my first essay was a C+, but I ended up with an A in the class. Then in ENG1AH, I also got an A in the class, but its with hardwork and preparation. One advice: Ask for feedback via emailappointments before turning it in! It can change ur grade tremendously!

Mr. Aquino was one of the best English professors I have taken. He adds humor and lightness to the class while also being very informative and helpful, not too many essay assignments, just enough to not be overwhelmed, but do be prepared to work hard for your grade. I definitely plan on taking his class again for Engl1A.

Professor Aquino makes you think deeper and write better. I enjoyed how unique his assignments were. A lot of his essays were related to psychology which is a plus. He makes you think instead of spoon feeding you the information. He pushes you to think out side the box and lets you be free with your style as long as you follow his guidelines.

This man changed my writing forever. Lloyd is such a passionate and exceptional writer that everybody could learn something from him. His lectures are fantastic and clear cut, his assignment are amazingly fun, and he is truly an exceptional writer. Professor Aquino was an easy professor ,but I did learn a lot from his class. He assigned very interesting readings. He also let us redo/turn in late one essay ,which is a win in my book.

Lloyd is the one of the most caring professors here. He's lenient and caring, if you have anything going on he's always willing to work with you. He's highly intelligent and gives amazing feedback.

Professor Aquino was awesome. He not only takes the time to explain what he expects from you in your assignments, he goes over the assignments so that pretty much what you're gonna be turning in will mostly be taken from what you just took notes on in class. He does miss a lot of classes tho, so check your email before heading out.

At first, his instructions may seems unclear & gives lots of work, but you'll get used to it as time goes by. If you wanna pass the class without reading the textbooks, just take notes during the class's discussion/debates and email him your drafts, attend class regularly.

If you go to all the classes the papers will be easy Since He provides explanations in class for them. You need to read what he provides when he assigns it. Mostly comic series. He has impeccable taste in literature and poetry and his lectures are very insightful. For sure take his class if you want to be introduced to some amazing authors!

He is an overall good professor but you do need to work to get a good grade. His lectures and the books he assigns are interesting. I learned a lot in his class and he definitely made me a better writer.

He's tough. He expects work but gives clear concise grading material. He's thought-provoking and demands critical thinking in his classes. He can come off stoic but soft at the same time. Some bias if he doesn't agree or see your viewpoint in papers. 4 papers for the class. flexible with due dates communicate with him and you should pass.

Gives amazing constructive feedback on rough drafts. Easy class as long as you understand the books and follow the rubric on essays. Lectures sometimes feel redundant as I felt he was stating the obvious, but that's just my opinion. Overall a nice person and would take him again if possible.

Aquino is a great professor. I enjoyed all the content that we read throughout the course. He gives good feedback and tries to connect with his students.

Grade is almost entirely based on essays, but he will give you feedback before you turn it in if you go to office hours. A few homework assignments but if you just follow his feedback exactly, you'll get an A.

Be prepared to WORK for your grade. He is hands down the best professor I have had, and I took him for both English 1AH and 1CH. I am not a strong writer, and I usually suck at writing essays, but his feedback allowed me to succeed. My best advice is to visit him during office hours to get feedback on your essays before submitting them.

He assigns assignments that lead up to the essays, 4 in total. I'm not a good writer but his feedback was helpful to getting a high grade. Not much extra credit but he allows you to rewrite/fix an essay to get a higher grade (if you turned in all the essays). Expects more than "good enough" from honors. Lets you turn in essays up to 48 hours late.

You have to work for your grade. He doesn't give perfect scores but you can still pass with an A if you follow all his feedback. He will read your essays before turning them it which helped me a lot. Professor Aquino was a great poetry instructor who encouraged all of us to embrace our own personal styles when writing. He did a great job explaining new concepts and inviting creativity. I looked forward to all of his classes and assignments. There is helpful readings and many good examples to help write poetry. I definetly recommend taking him!
