Eco. is not easy but he does good job of teaching it. Taking class with him means you will learn economics not just an easy pass. He is very engaging and interesting. Slackers take Silvester for easy grade but Beckles is the man if you want to learn! First exams in Micro & Macro are nearly identical

Anyone not happy with this instructor must have a personal problem; or are just overly sensitive. Mr. Beckles is a very concerned instructor. Those who think he is arrogant need to grow up. If you want baby food stay at home! Take this class, take his class.

EXCELLENT PROFESSOR! Was dreading any kind of eceonomics class, but he makes it SO interesting. You really need to do the reading but his lectures are very helpful in pulling it all together. Exam reviews are AWESOME! I agree that if someone doesn't like this class or struggles in this class, the problem is theirs and not Mr. Beckles.

Mr Beckles is extremely helpful when you have problems in any situation. He tries to make sure you have full knowledge of the material before you take tests, and if you don't, he will try to help you understand. If you want to do well, take him.

Good, funny, teacher. The class is easy. My lowest test was a 98%. He offers lots of extra credit an A is easy to get. He also drops your lowest test grade weather it is a 98% or a 0%.

Prof. Beckles is awesome. If you have the chance of taking him, you would be stupid to pass it up! He explains everything in layman's terms for us college students to understand. Listen to his reviews! They are very helpful for the exams. However, for his finals, YOU MUST STUDY EVERYTHING. They are very difficult. I am taking him again for Micro!

I took a 3 hour economics class at night with Beckles and I was awake the entire time. He is really funny. Always gives test reviews and tells you (while giving notes) what to remember for tests. I hated economics and still do but he made the subject so much better. As long as you are there for the reveiws and study your notes, you'll be fine.

Professer Beckles is an awesome teacher. You do have to do your reading because you can expect a quiz at every class. He is very helpful and makes sure that you understand everything in class. I will be taking him for Micro as well. I work full time, have two kids, and am taking 3 classes and have an A in his class. GREAT TEACHER!!

Makes economics funny. Gives a ton of extra credit. Show up so you can get all the extra credit. Final is optional. Definitely take him if you need any economics courses.

He is from Trinidad and he has a cute accent. Its hard to sit in his class and not crack a smile at least once because he is so funny. Very good teacher but you need to go to every class to make sure you dont miss anything. Quizzes and test are a little difficult but if you have good study habits you will do fine.

Very good teacher. He goes fast but you get used to it. Learn the powerpoints that he gives you and jsut read the book. Mostly what's italics in the book he will ask in exams and learn the quizes and the powerpoint. If you do not want to study don't take this class, but I garantee you that he is a good teacher and funny too.

Amazing professor! While giving his notes from PPT, he tells you what to expect/know for the exam. There's a quiz (simple) for each new chapter when you come to class; scan that chapter. He gives a review for each exam; GO TO THEM! If you ask he will answer. Also, what you see on the quizzes (u keep) you will see on the exam. TONS OF EXTRA CREDIT!!

The level of ease in the class should be left up to each individual student. I personally found it to be a lot of material & hard. BUT!!! He is an AWESOME professor! This is one of the best professors i have ever taken at SCC or SSC he is very knowledgeable and genuinely cares about the students success in the class he is very clear when presenting information, gives bonus points, and makes economics fun!! He is the only teacher i would recommend to take this course with, he really is the best SCC has to offer!

Keeps things interesting. Students must read their chapters before going to class as he gives quizzes. You should expect to go to class having read the material. Bases lecture on power point and will provide it to student. He likes trick questions on exam but gives opportunity for extra credit.

Very fun teacher, very smart about economics and gives real world examples. TONS of extra credit available, test follow the lectures which follow the textbook. He gives you his powerpoints, usually lets you out early, always answers students questions!! LOVED HIM :D

Hes hilarious, some people dont like his dry humor at times. it kept me awake during the night class. Gives plenty of extra Credit, and will go over a problem you have as many times as you need. Which helped me out a ton for the quizzes, which are based on the test. this helps a lot with the mathematical problems. Definitely will retake him.

Great sense of humor, engaging and very helpful. The tests are NOT easy, although he does give you plenty of opportunity to gain extra credit points, that will help your final grade. Don't skip out on class; trying to 'catch up' on your own will leave you clueless. Highly recommended.

If you are visual learner take this class on campus. It is a lot of info and chapters per test. Its hard for him to give you the help you may need because he does not have office hours if he did he would be very helpful. If you take the online course and you cant keep up don't settle on failing go to the economics office for extra help.

I was NEVER good at Economics so I didn't expect to get a B.3 assignments,3 Tests,3 Quiz.He offered two types of extra credit. USE THEM! I never really read the book. The tests are times but it is enough time to finish both quizzes and take tests. He grades quickly & offers to explain things you get wrong on assignments. I would take him again.

Class seemed too easy at first, the last week required a extensive amount of material to learn plus an exam and other assignments, kind of felt like half of the class was crammed into the last week. Exams seemed a bit more difficult than they should have been for being a principles of macro class.

I took his on line class of ECO2013 and like this Professor. He is very kind and helpful to students. I wish I could take ECO 2023 with him, but he does not have ECO 2023 class. Many Thanks!

In this class you must participate in everything. Being online I understand that communication is crucial in understanding the material but I felt like this class went a little overboad in the discussion dept. As long as you read the chapters and study a few hrs a week before taking any exams you will do fine. Make sure to do your work!

Took this class on-line. Manageable work load and quick feedback. I emailed him a few times and he got back to me very quickly, I was shocked, since I took another economics instructor the semester before and she would take several days to respond, if at all. Enjoyed the class.

This class was not easy but not hard either. Course was outlined well and he responded to my questions within a few hours. I would definitely take him again. All exams and stuff are open for a week or more, overall, enjoyed the class a lot.

Pretty easy. Homework one week, quiz the next. Every so often there was a discussion post. The only thing about online is that everything is posted one week ahead of time so you can't work ahead and ou have to check back all the time to make sure you're not missing anything.

For the professor I have to work really hard for tests, assignments and quizzes and they are all on mindtap. So my teacher is okay this semester. But no extra credit or rounding the grades I get what I earn.

Very kind and funny professor. Every assignment is done online, and he will not extend any due dates, so make sure to do it on-time. If you miss one assignment, it will be hard to make up the grade. Overall, his lectures were entertaining, but I recommend reading the text book a lot to get more coverage.

Dr. Beckles is a good professor, but the material in the class is pretty hard. He explains things a lot easier than the book. All of the assignment, quiz, and test questions are on MindTap, so if you just study those questions, you'll be fine. There are barely any assignments, so you need to study. There is one essay, but he grades very nicely.
