Pilkington is good teacher. All his notes can be printed off his site, so you dont have to worry about copying down notes, and you can just lession to his lectures. Just do all the homework and you will be fine.

He is a good teacher who will teach you every thing about his subject, but he has hard test, and is very (and I stress very) specific.

Great teacher who takes the extra time needed to be sure you understand the material. The material itself is hard but he is realistic about it. He always seems to have a smile and I've yet to see him lose his temper or b/c frustrated. Highly recommended.

EXCELLENT instructor!!! He makes his classes very interesting by the way he explains things. Class is never boring. Class is not hard as long as you study and do the work, even if there is a lot of material to cover. He is very helpful and will assist any student who needs help.

Great teacher! Hard class! Just do the work in the workbook and read the chapters and you will do fine! offers extra credit..so making a good grade is easy as long as you do the work. He will keep you interested in the material. I really liked him alot. Very by the book kind of person (type A) but is very nice and easy to talk to!!

Dr.Pilkington was a very good instructor and I really enjoyed his class, he will work with you and has lots of extra credit. For the person that said his class was horrible that must have been someone that did not study, and you know some students blame instructors when they fail, Imean you can't expect the Professors to do the work for you.

i love mr. pilkington's class. when i leave there in the mornings before going to work, i feel as if i have just had an appointment with my therapist. (the one i don't have) he makes class interesting, and everything is there for you to make good grades.

He is a very good teacher and you can tell he loves his subject. He makes sure you understand everything by putting them in everyday situtations. He is a great teacher but yeah his test are a little hard but they are the department test.

Best teacher for psych. He really cares about his students. I managed an A in the class, and his grading system is great. YOu have 1050 possible points, and after each test he tells you what you have. You can then figure out what your grades need to be in order to get an A. Do the work and study hard, use the mods and Cdroms to study.

This class was a lot of work but if you read the book and pay attn in class you will do fine. There are a bunch of tests so it's not like if you fail one you are doomed...

You can pass this class with a C if you just do all the modules, and do poorly on the tests. Ofcourse you have to do very well on the Psych Trek modules, but they're pretty easy. And if you study a bit more for the tests, you can easily pass this class with a B. He's always there to help if you need it too! Very enthusiastic!

The best MTC has to offer-he is interesting, fun and will explain in different kind of ways-no matter how you learn (visual, auditory-etc) he hooks you up all the way. Do the work books(they served as my study guide for tests) you do have to do the work but it is reasonable and he makes you want to know more-I am disappointed class is almost over!

I loved his class. He is the best teacher ever. During class I was so fixed on to what he was saying because he is so fun and he makes you want to learn more. I loved this class it was very easy. I miss going to that class you will learn so many things!

This class was awesome. As long as you pay attention and understand the concepts, you will ace the tests. There is no homework, which is a plus. The tests are multiple choice. If you do the extra credit, it will add five points (or half a letter grade) to your average.

Dr. Pilkington is the definition of a great teacher. He makes even boring subjects interesting and really wants to see his students succeed. He is more than patient and will work with a student until they understand the subject matter. Also, he is always happy and in a great mood. He made me like psychology.

I struggled on his tests. To me some of the questions had two corret anwsers and you had to pick the best one. He wants everyone to succeed and very willing to help you out. He is excited and teaching and always happy. Makes everything interesting and very clear. Great teacher!

Interesting class, He actually loves to teach which seems rare at Tech! Tough class though. Studying is a must if you want a good grade. His tests are challenging and the average grade on the final is a 65% according to him but all-in-all I would take him again.

Love, love, loved this professor! I always looked forward to his class. Take advantage of his lecture notes on his website and the extra credit. If you study and apply yourself, you can pull a final course grade of an A before you even take the final.

Mr. Pilkington has got to be one of my favorite teachers ever. Tells funny stories about his wife and kids to help you remember the subject he's teaching. Study his online lecture notes and you will do well on the tests! Easy grader on the projects. TAKE HIM!

Nicest teacher I've ever had. He helps you with anything you don't understand and his notes are very structured. If you don't want to read your textbook take another class. Easy as long as you study and he provides extra credit.

His notes were exactly like his tests. Psychology can be a very different subject to learn especially if you have a specific way of seeing things. Just pay attention and if you don't understand something ask he won't bite.

I was completely fooled by all of the comments the other students have left on here. He is a good teacher and makes the information interesting but the test are hard and not straight from the notes. you have to also read the chapters and do activities online to know all the material. He gives 24 pages of notes to study for one test.

While he does have strong opinions on certain things, he is very knowledgeable and passionate about psychology. He managed to make every topic interesting and I looked forward to class every day. His papers can be on the difficult side though because he is very strict about APA format.

I have had this professor for psy 201, 212,and 218. I loved them all. He is a great professor. I got the most out of his 201 class because it was harder than the other two that were hybrid courses. I had to study more for his tests in 201 but it was worth it! He is very nice but does require you to do some work and show up!Great teacher!

He makes the class seem much harder than it is. He gives a lot of extra credit. You can make an A, he doesn't make it seem like you can but you really can. He will not round your grade up whatsoever. If you have an 89, you have a B. So work hard the whole semester. Six tests including midterm and final and an easy project plus learning modules.

He is a great and helpful professor. However you must study the notes that he gives you. Pay attention in class, and study the study guide, but he gives you all of the notes, materials, and questions that you need. Just keep up with you tests, etc.

Mr. Pilkington is the one of the best teachers you could ask for in College. One of the things that was so inspiring about him is that he always came to class happy and ready to go. He makes psychology so fun to learn and exciting. His test are pretty straight forward if you study. He gives extra credit and an easy fun project to do. I made an A+.

GREAT TEACHER! Very good a explaining things in a way you'll understand and gives memorable examples. You can tell he loves teaching and loves psychology. It's a lot of material but if you study the lecture notes he puts on D2L you should have no problem! And, he makes sure you know where you stand throughout the semester. I easily made an A.

This teacher was fun. He know how to explain everything in a way that made everyone understand. His lectures are awesome. If you want to pass the tests then you have to study. Make sure you do all the extra credit, it helps you more than a ton. He is very helpful if you have any questions. He always keeps you updated on your grade.

GREAT TEACHER!! he loves his job & he loves what he teaches. he doesn't do test reviews or study guides but if you read over the chapter in the book & review the charts in the back which are guidlines they help a lot! i liked the fact that he gives you chances to earn more points & doesnt base your grade soley off of test grades.

This is an AMAZING class. EVERYTHING that's on his tests, he covers in class. Saying that, YOU MUST TAKE NOTES. If you do the modules and extra credit, you will pass the class. I also suggest doing the multiple choice tests on the disk-they help. He gives you all the tools to succeed, but it's up to you. If I can take another class, I will.

The BEST teacher I have had by far!!! The lectors are very interesting, and he is the sweetest guy ever. I recommend anyone taking PSY 201 to have him for your professor. You have to do studying out of the classroom, but the professor makes it very learnable.

He is an awesome teacher! I'm in my third semester here, and he is my favorite teacher out of the fifteen that I have had. You have to study a moderate amount,but he is super easy to understand and his Power points are really clear. He also offers a good amount of extra credit.

If you want an A, be prepared to work hard for it. He gives you all the tools you need, you just have to put in effort. NO RESEARCH PAPER which he understands is mostly an English Class Time Waisting Project for PSY. His lectures are really interesting. Keep an open mind and you'll learn things from him that will help you the rest of your life

I took him for 101 and am currently in 212, I have enjoyed both of the classes. He is a great teacher and so passionate about his profession. I highly recommend him, I would take him again if I could! For non hybrid classes there are extremely easy "homework"s and a weekly test online, straight from the book. Lecture is more supplemental so you understand the concepts. Take him!

He is by far, one of the best professors at Midlands Tech. He seriously loves what he does and his classes are very interesting. Even though the test questions are mostly from the book and not so much on the notes. He is very strict with attendance, but always is on top of grades and emails you when you have a problem. Best psych professor.

Absolutely loved Dr. P! He is very passionate about psychology and makes learning it so much fun. My favorite class so far!

He was very upfront before the start of the class of his expectations. Things were laid out in the open and he was always available. Multiple chances to take tests and no mid-term just a Final. Being that I took this class in Summer semester that was helpful for the extra study time because the Summer semester is shorter. Good approachable teacher.

He has a detailed video showing you everything you need to do. He also does weekly updates. You NEED to read the chapters! Tests are 25 Q's and you are given 30 min to answer. He's very prompt and friendly with email replies... I really enjoyed his class! My advice: build your final exam study guide as you go through the chapters! He is awesome!

This is the best psychology class I have ever taken. He has amazing lectures and is very passionate about what he teaches. I recommend his class to everyone who has to take PSY-201. His tests are not easy, but he posts amazing study resources on D2L.

Mr. Pilkington is amazing and understands that we have a load of other classes and doesn't try to overload the students. If you do the required assignments the exams will fall right in place. We need more professors like him at MTC.

Mr. Pilkington is really into psychology and knows his stuff. My only compliant is that he can be a little bit opinionated as he is not a big fan of the medical side of psychology.

The material was straight from the textbook. There were powerpoint & summaries for each chapter along with videos to watch for extra resources. There are 10 tests, 2 media assignments for each chapter, & drop questions that need to be completed each week. Be prepared to read, read, read! As long as you read the material, you'll do fine.

One of the best professors I've had because he has the skills to teach and not just the degree. If you want to learn about psychology, this is the class to take. He is very approachable and classes are very interactive. The course was hybrid, very organized, required lot of reading but the exams were not hard and final was easy also. TAKE HIM!!!

He gives you all online tests except the final exam. He also gives you a week to take the regular tests which is great.

Abnormal psych was the perfect class for me. Dr. P. is so passionate about psychology. No papers, weekly quizzes for each chapter that you can take on lockdown browser. No midterm and an easy final exam (if you study) where you match the mental disorders to the definition. Great lectures! If you're interested in mental disorders, take this class.

This is probably Midlands Tech hidden gem. He is absolutely amazing as a professor and deserves all the credit. You can tell he is extremely passionate about his profession and not just there for a paycheck. Hoping to take him again as I continue with my degree. I took a class with him during the COVID fiasco and didn't do well but that was mostly on me. I retook him this semester in a harder class and he helped me work on my study habits. My grades improved dramatically and honestly, I've never really felt bored when he's lecturing. Truly did enjoy his classes and would highly recommend them.

I took several of his classes and wish I could take more! Genuinely cares about his students and is very understanding. I talked to him a few times while I was going through a rough time and his words were really valuable. Amazing professor and person.
