fairly young prof who is really charismatic and makes lectures pretty interesting. he says ok a lot and you can tell he hasnt been teaching long, but the material is hard no matter what. he drops a test, so dont worry when you fail the first midterm. he gives extra credit homeworks and is really helpful in office hours.
his class is very tough. most students fail the first test. i got a 53 on it, but after that i got 3 "A's". if you talk to him in office hours you will do fine. he is an excellent teacher. attendance is not mandatory but you need to go to lecture to understand the material.

Probably one of the best professors I have had at Kent. The exams are hard but if you got office hours he makes it a lot easier to understand. You can tell he has a lot of interest in what he teaches and tries to make it as easy as possible for students to understand. Highly recommend taking him for micro!
This is one of the better profs I have ever had. He is extremely helpful if you attend the lectures and listen to the explanations. MicroEcon is a difficult course, but this guy teaches it. He is an brilliant guy but brings things down to a nice colloquial level. I would highly recommend this professor for any ECON class.
He is a great professor; he's young and super nice, which is refreshing, but he still seems to really know his stuff. Course content and exams are kind of tough; but he's definitely a great professor.
wonderful professor, intelligent and passionate about his work. highly reccommend him. very friendly and open to helping you. wish i had him for all my classes!
great guy. made class interesting, didnt put me to sleep. highly recommend!
Wonderful professor. Gives you the powerpoints, practice tests, everything. willing to help out. Gotta study for the exams, kind of tough. No need for the book. Beautiful teacher ;)
Best professor ever! Changed my major because of him. Do the practice exam and go to class and you will get an A. Optional final. So easy to work with and his lectures are very clear.
I hated going to this class. Lockwood is extremely attractive, but his teaching is lacking. I had a hard time grasping almost every topic, and I'm an A/B student. He does give half a letter grade of extra credit, but in retrospect, it's not enough. No curves. I'd recommend taking someone else.
This class wasn't too bad. He's a pretty good teacher and will always help you if you need it. All of the homework is extra credit and if you do it all, ir really helps your grade in the end. He gives you plenty of practice study questions and study guides so the tests aren't too bad. Plus he drops an exam. I recommend taking him.
Reynolds is a nice, attractive guy, but he is a bad teacher. Everything was explained poorly. The powerpoints don't really make sense and you have to struggle to understand them. I went to every SI study session and every class, and still only ended up with a B-. I urge you to take another professor if you have to take micro!
Probably the best professor at Kent State. Really good teacher and he's passionate about economics.
Best Econ teacher ever! He knows his stuff and he relates the material to real life situations so it's easier to understand. His homework and practice tests are exactly like his real exams. He's attractive and he has a dorky sense of humor and he offers extra credit.
Professor Reynolds is a great teacher. Previously, I had no interest in microeconomics but he is great at explaining its diversity & getting people interested. It's not hard if you pay attention and he provides extra credit & drops your lowest test scores. So far, my all time favorite class. Take it with him or you'll definitely regret it!
Very knowledgeable and helpful. You can tell he really cares about and wants the best for his students. One of the most fair teachers I've ever had as far as grading is concerned. The course was not at all interesting to me but he made it bearable. Be aware that he takes attendance about 5 times randomly throughout the semester for a grade.
Best professor ever. He makes economics very interesting. As long as you do the homework, go to class and study it's fairly easy. Everything he puts on the homework and the study guides for the exams is exactly what you'll see on the actual exam. He's also pretty funny and relates the subject to real situations.
Dr. Reynolds knows his stuff. He understands that most of the class doesn't like Econ, and makes it as exciting as possible. He is very helpful, and going to SI helps a lot. This class is HARD. But, he does a good job. I would definitely take him again. Also, he's one of the top-rated economists in the country right now, so there's that!
Dr. Reynolds is one of the smartest professors I've ever known. He knows his stuff and can teach and deliver it well. Very understanding of students needs. Very helpful. Wants for all students to do well. Awesome man
Dr. Reynolds is a very intelligent man, that can teach so well, and make tedious, dry material ... very, very interesting. I declared an econ major since I thought it would make myself marketable in the job market, but really didn't enjoy the material, and I loved this major after his course. Really goes out of his way to assist and help students
He is a great professor. highly recommend for any economics courses. always refreshing to see professors that love what they teach and help students in any way. best professor i had at kent state
Had him for Micro, and couldnt ask for a better professor. I dont have good math or problem solving skills and detest graphs, and ended up liking the course very much and passed with an A. Sometimes all it takes is an intelligent, helpful professor to make you enjoy something boring. Highly recommend!
The very best professor I ever had at KSU. Wants all students to do well, and helps students beyond measure. Very wonderful person. I am glad he is now chair of the economics department, and he really goes out of his way to help students in that area as well. Ive learned so much from his class. Highly recommend him
Dr. Reynolds is a very knowledge professor. He is passionate about the subject of economics, which helps engage his students during class. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Dr. Reynolds is such a great professor. I took him in intercession 2015, and although the course was hard and he has 18 chapters to shove into 2 weeks, he tried to make it as easy as possible and was always available if we needed help. He gives practice problems prior to every test and truly cares about your success in his class. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Best professor I have ever had at KSU! He was the reason I became a business economics major. I ended up loving the subject immensely. Highly intelligent, very great person. Wish he taught all econ courses.
This man is the most brilliant person Ive ever encountered, but is so down to earth. He is an awesome prof. Makes economics fascinating. Relates well to students. Tests are more then fair. He's also phenomenal as coordinator of the BBA in Economics program. Goes out of his way to be helpful in every facet.
Dr. Reynolds is awesome. Intelligent, funny, an all around great professor. wants all students to succeed, and will do anything to help you succeed in the course. Prepares you so well for all exams. Take Micro with him and if you can economics of labor markets. highly recommend
This is the best prof. at Kent State! Super smart, funny, all around great guy. Take Micro or upper division econ with him. No matter how many students show up, he still helps tremendously during office hours, and uses the conference room. Tests aren't difficult. Roots for everyone to do well. Very encouraging to students since is coordinator.
Dr Reynolds is the man! Awesome person, even better professor. Abundantly helpful to students since is coordinator of the department. Gives you all the things you need to succeed in his classes. Tests very fair. Interesting, knowledgeable lecturer. Will do anything to help you learn and succeed in all your pursuits. Will take Labor Markets with him
great professor. come to class, pay attention, and you'll walk off with a decent grade
He invested so much time in helping me when I took Microeconomics with him. Cant ask for a better professor. Very nice especially when you see him for advising for the economics undergraduate program. Take his labor markets too.
Very, very, very, very (did I say, very?) very helpful. He is a huge asset to Kent State's economics department. Great professor and amazing coordinator of the program.
Best professor, you'll have at Kent State. Seriously.
Dr Reynolds really knows his stuff and relates well to students. I learned so much from his class. Great person!
If every professor tore a leaf out of Dr Reynolds book, there would be substantially more college graduates out there. I dreaded taking this class, and now love this material. He is awesome. I give him ten out of ten gold stars.
walked into his course as a freshman with 2.1 gpa, couldnt care less about this stuff. Dr Reynolds made me love econ that semester, earned an A, switched majors to econ, made me want to be a better student and all I could be. Now I am a senior with a 3.7 gpa and want to get a Columbia MBA. a young, great prof can make all the difference
Dr Reynolds is the best!!!!!
Professor Reynolds is by far my favorite professor I have had yet at Kent. Super helpful, and makes hard material bearable. I loved his class so much I decided to take Macroeconomics next semester for fun. Hope the next Econ prof. is just as great!
He is really funny and engaging and gives you lots of options to help you study. That being said, you will have to study. The material isn't exactly hard but it's probably different from anything you've done before. Textbook is free. Lots of help available outside of class (SI 4x a week & office hours). For your own good, don't skip lecture.
GREAT Professor!! I spent 3 hours with him before a midterm and it helped so much. He is patient, smart, funny, and VERY HELPFUL!! You MUST work all semester to get a good grade. Go to class, take notes! I hate math and business but this was actually enjoyable. Also, does not have book so that's really nice!!
I absolutely loved Reynolds!!! When I first enrolled for this class I was dreading it because it's known to be historically difficult. But Reynolds explains everything very clearly and always welcomes questions. He is also really funny and friendly and hot. The material is difficult but you will do well if you put forth an effort. Awesome guy
Dr. Reynolds is awesome. Very helpful, straightforward, and interesting and just plain fun. Only one thing to point out: going to class is an almost absolute necessity, with this challenging material, but believe me, you'll love every minute of it and his class. Will take him again for Labor Markets too!
Probably one of the best professors at Kent State University. Reynolds is an amazing teacher, puts a heap of effort into his class and really cares about his students. There is no doubt that this class is a ton of work but don't skip - it's worth it and if you put in the time and effort you will do great.
Like him a lot! One of the best classes I've taken. I finished the class realizing I've learned many things and my critical thinking ability was at its finest. He's a great guy, and very patient and wants his students to succeed. Wish he taught every ECON class. Take a class with him!
Awesome professor!!!!!!!!
he is hands down the best Econ professor at Kent State University, especially for a large class. Lectures were clear and fun, and he kept the material interesting. wish he taught every class.
Extremely intelligent man, hilarious and really tries to make the material more interesting to relate to students. Always accessible if you simply reach out, personable and knows how to teach this stuff. Fantastic professor
Prof Reynolds is an awesome prof. The material is inherently difficult, but he is so willing and so enthusiastic about helping students understand and is always accessible outside of class. Takes his time to pause and make sure everyone is on the same page. One of the best professors you'll come across. Take this class with him.
Lockwood is awesome. There's a ton of information you learn throughout the semester ranging from elasticity to game theory. This was a tough class for me to understand the logic & concepts. However, Lockwood made the class relatable to our lives & threw some sarcasm & fun into the lectures. Great guy. If you don't go to class, you miss A LOT.
HE IS UNBELIEVABLY AWESOME. HE SHOULD TEACH EVERY ECON COURSE AT KSU
He invested so much time in helping me, and enjoyed doing so. He is a wonderful professor, probably the best I've had in my four years here. His class is so interesting and he relates well to students and cares about their success.
He is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was my first year at Kent, and he was the best professor I had all year. and i am sure will be the best of all my time here. Definately going to take him again for upper division ECON.
Best professor at the whole University. Absolutely will take him for more economics classes.
To sum it all up: I was apprehensive about this class, being a freshman and all, and petrified of failing the course. He helped me a lot and made me not only understand but enjoy the subject a whole lot. Wish there were more nice professors like Dr Reynolds out there. My major is finance, but if he taught every ECON course, would change majors.
Sure wish Dr. Reynolds taught Intermediate Micro/Macro! He is a superb economics professor and learned a great deal in his class.
TERRIFIC PROFESSOR. WILL TAKE HIM AGAIN, EVEN THOUGH ECON IS NOT MY MAJOR.
Best economics professor at Kent State University. Really there for students and prepares students well for exams. Really smart guy, down to earth, and very funny!
Brilliant man and fabulous professor. Learned a lot in his class.
Such an incredible economics professor. Makes complex material understandable and is never impatient, should you need outside classroom assistance.
Superb!
Wonderful Professor. A brilliant academic whose enthusiasm for economics is catchy, especially for students who initially arent the most passionate in the world. He is interesting, funny, and nice. He genuinely cares about his students and their success.
Great professor. His tests are fair, but definitely not easy. Most of the ladies think he's really attractive, too, so that's good. FREE textbook, but I never opened it. Prepare for frequent homeworks and lots of study time for tests. SI really helps- make sure you put it in your schedule!
Economics of Labor Markets was a great class, and Dr. Reynolds was great as usual. The class was tough- the homeworks definitely required teamwork and office hours- he's very helpful. The tests were hard, but were definitely fair. Get ready for data analytics. It helps that he's easy on the eyes.
He was a really understanding guy. He knew what he was talking about and even mentioned how this applies in today's world. He was honest about everything, no matter what you asked him. He was a great professor and I would take him again. Plus, he was kinda cute..
Really great professor. Cannot wait to have him again.
He is a great professor for a Kent core type of class: very understanding of students who don't love the subject. He explains things in several different ways to help you better grasp the concepts. Econ in general can be difficult so prepare for a different type of learning if you aren't used to it. Each class you take a poll for attendance.
Dr. Reynolds is my favorite professor I've taken while at Kent State. His lectures are usually very interesting but can get a little dry, but he tries his best to stay upbeat and keep the class engaged. Also, make sure you the practice tests they are near direct copies of his tests.
Dr. Reynolds is a smart guy and really engaging. His lectures are super long and a little boring but he makes them as interesting as possible. Your grade is mainly based on 10 homeworks and 3 exams, its easy to do well if you study & have a good memory. You get cheat sheets for exams. I think hes great, Id suggest him if youre taking this.
honestly such a great guy and explains everything very well!
Dr. Reynolds is a very good professor that always kept the online lectures interesting. He provides lots of content to help you understand the material and offers several extra credit opportunities.
DR REYNOLDS IF YOU'RE READING THIS I LOVE YOU. Literally the best professor I have and probably ever will encounter in my entire life. He's beyond caring, accessible, and funny and I enjoy his lectures so much. He literally makes me want to switch my major to Econ because of how interesting he makes Micro. I would take every class w him if I could.
Best professor I have had!! Reynolds cares about his students' success and makes difficult concepts seem easier. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Freshman at Kent State but for of teachers I've ever had, this guy is HIGH up there. Singlehandedly makes me wanna take an Economics major. Gives some leniency on missing papers and even flunking an entire exam but it's def something you should not rely on to pass, as long as you do the basic college course dance you'll pass.
One of the best professors at KSU. Lectures are interesting and clear. He helps explain any confusions in a way that is easy to understand. The exams are purely based on what you see in class (no curve balls). He allows you to do lots of in class practice and does not just sit there and talk at you for an hour. He wants everyone to succeed in class
Professor Reynolds is an awful microeconomics instructor. He shows up late on exam days and takes forever to pass out exams. Everyone kept on doing poorly on the 3 different midterms we had throughout the class and he though nothing of it. He cannot teach at all he has no common sense. He makes no sense when he explains things and talks on and on.
From the first day of class, he was very open about the difficulty of the material in the class. However, he gave us ample opportunity to succeed! Any question you didn't understand he would help you through, he is very generous with grading and extra credit, and is very excited to help when asked. I cannot say enough about how great he is!
Lockwood Reynolds' class was great! He didn't take attendance but he did in-class polling/quizzes for participation, and they were really helpful. His study guides are very similar to the exams. He's a great lecturer and fun to listen to.
even if you are bad at economics this class shouldnt be bad and the professor really cares about you and your grades
He's a great teacher knew nothing about economics and now I want to minor in it
Great professor. He explains things very well and is easy to understand. The coursework is easy, but enough to still feel like you are learning something. You can also bring a page of notes to exams, and he has a lot of practice problems and other studying resources for exams. I would recommend his class to anyone.
