Great professor. It isn't a slacker course, so be prepared to work and do the required readings, but if you struggle understanding philosophy he makes it extremely clear during lectures. Gage is an AMAZING professor. I cannot stress this enough. It's not an easy course, but it can be if you do the readings and show up to class. I went into the class not knowing anything about philosophy, and he made it extremely accessible and easy to understand. It's the most enjoyable class I've ever taken. You want him as your professor.

Dr. Gage is a great professor. His lectures are clear, and the main ideas are easy to pick out. Any questions that students have are answered clearly and thoroughly, and he is always willing to go into more detail after class if need-be. The reading is a lot, but it is usually very interesting. He goes over them well in class afterward, too.

Dr. Gage is a fantastic lecturer; he's punctual and quick-paced, yet he gives you enough time to get all your notes down and ask questions. Now-Doctor Gage is fun, fast-paced and super clear. He talks fast only because there's so much content to cover, which he is obviously passionate about. Dr. Gage made my 1st semester at Franciscan as a transfer student/recent convert to the faith so amazing! He is also a convert so you get to see a lot of his story unveil in his teaching. He is incredibly wise, and his lessons are very tangible. He does do pop quizzes so attendance is necessary, but you want to be there b/c hes frikken hilarious!

Dr. Gage's class is not for those without time management, since the pop quizzes are given that class no retakes. The random but important quizzes make reading every assigned reading important. Dr. Gage is an excellent teacher. This was my first philosophy class and I was a little nervous, but he did an excellent job of explaining the content. While attendance is not mandatory, he does do a lot of pop quizzes which definitely help your grade, and he gives you half credit just for being present when he hands out the quiz.

Before I took this class, I didn't ever think I would understand philosophy but Dr. Gage breaks it down so well and systematically that it all made sense to me. I now have a love for philosophy that I never knew I had. Every single lecture was eye opening. I found myself reviewing my notes over Christmas break just for fun! I highly recommend him!!
