Cool class. You can get by without reading the textbook, although you probably can't get an A because he has a few questions on every quiz from the text. But mostly he pulls questions from his lectures, which are really good and always entertaining. He uses good examples to make sense of the subject matter. This is the best class Ive taken at Dixie

he's easy if you go to class, and they'r always good classes. he does a lot of activities and group assignemtns which at first i didnt like but i learned a lot from them. if you do the assignments you pretty much get 100% on them just cite sources correctly. quizzes are easy if you go to class and take notes. do really good on final paper its worth

This guy is really smart His lectures are clear he stays on topic. When students get off topic he relates their comments back to the material He was organized. He responded within a day to emails and told me exactly what my score was on every assignment All of his comments are on Blackboard students just have to know how to use it and ask hell help

Professor Reid is very smart. He's easy to relate to and very open minded to all opinions. He's a great Professor who is never boring and is fun to be in class with. He teaches things clearly, goes at the pace of the class and always answers questions. He always makes time to help students as well. I will recommend my friends take his class!

The best thing about being in Professor Reid's class was that he made it a lot of fun. He always taught things that were interesting and was never disrespectful to the students. He helped to make it fair to all his students and provided a great learning enviornment. He also had a lot of great stories... that he should continue to tell :)

Puts copy of textbook in library and only assigns a chapter/week so you can go to library for an hour/week and stay up on reading. His assignments are different and great. if you dont turn them in on time he doesnt give them back until end of the sem. He tests mostly from lectures so if you miss class your behind, but if you go, the tests are easy

Mr.Reid is awesome! The class discussions are always amazing and he's a well educated and respectful teacher. He is open minded and smart. His assignments help you understand things more and he's alright with not following the syllabus exactly in case anyone is confused. All around great guy!

I had him 2 semesters ago and only wish more of my teachers were like him. He did have an issue with loading our assignments on blackboard but that was minor. I learned so much about sociology. He plays games,has cool and interesting movies to watch and extra credit opportunities. He is willing to help and answer questions. Take sociology from him

Professor Reid was very knowledgeable about the subject of sociology and and answered every question very well. I enjoyed the class discussions and the subjects we discussed.

He always got back to me when I needed him. Always made sure to keep us informed of changes and always kept us updated on our progress in the class. All I had to do was email him and he would tell me my grade. If I asked to meet outside of class he would schedule an appointment and spend as much time as I needed to understand . Super nice guy!

Reid is a smart man and knows this topic. He was very helpful and taught on the levels of the students. I found the subject very interesting. He was extremely good at using a multitude of teaching methods to keep the class interesting. His powerpoints are great. He is a wonderful instructor and he knows how to teach while also having fun.

Extremely personable. Extremely knowledgable. he shared personal experiences to explain concepts well. he cares about his students and offers options to help us improve our grades. He used a lot of music videos to help teach us about the different social theories successfully. Very professional, yet easy to talk to. Wow! Just came from his lecture on crime & deviance. This guy is brilliant. There were probably five times during the class that i felt like I had just had an apifany. He has a way of making me think about things I've never considered and helping me see from a different perspective. I think that's the most interesting lecture I've ever sat through!

I thoroughly enjoyed this class. Logan is a very good teacher, and he makes every class very interesting and relevant to real life situations. His out of class assignments were very easy, and only had one final test which he completely prepares you for. I would definitely recommend taking his class.

Logan is a great guy and a very educated man! He is the epitome of the stellar educators you can find at DSU! I enjoyed his class and he was very engaging in conversation instead of just constantly lecturing. He needs to improve on is grading. I didn't get most of my scores until the end of the term and was unaware of my grade standing in class.

Best professor I've ever had, including a year at UCSB. Everyone should have to take this class. If you wait for class scores to post it takes a while, but if you ask him for your scores he posts them really fast, and if you submit assignments early he grades them that very day. I'm taking an intro class from him just to have another class from him

And he graded all of the assignments within 24 hours. But even if assignments are graded slow, it wouldn't matter. He's worth taking. He's amazing. Loved

Ive taken soc from two profs here at Dixie. I liked both classes, but they didnt even compare. Prof. Reids class was the best Ive ever taken. Ive never had a class from someone who actually works fulltime in the field. Hes adjunct, so his fulltime job is actually using the principles he talks about in class. So interesting. So intelligent. So nice.

Awesome. I've only had a few days in his block class so far, but he already has me convinced he's the best teacher at this school. And he's super smart. He actually knows about the field he's teaching in. That's rare. I can't wait for more.

Logan Reid shares a lot of great personal stories that help you understand the course material, plus he is hilarious! He respects all of his students and includes them in the class discussion. He lectures on each of the chapters in the book, just take notes and you will be fine. He's an awesome teacher! Participation is a must.

this teacher was literally amazing. i loved every second of my class with him. if you attend the class and do the easy homework you will forsure get an A. one of my most favorite classes in dixie state. specially because i am an international student classes seem to be harder for me but i LOVED this class.

He is great! Had another professor for a week then switched to Reid. Best descion I could have made. There is a homework assignment each week, super easy. He is very clear on what he expects. He makes the class enjoyable. Does randomly give attendance points, but lets you know that from the beginning of class.

He is VERY intelligent and VERY qualified to teach from his experience. I've taken other Soc, Psych and CJ classes here at Dixie, but none of my professors had the real world experience this guy has. And he's so smart, but not snotty about it like a lot of other profs. I loved being taught by experience rather than from a textbook. Great lectures!

Kind knowledgable caring understanding. He actually tells his class that he doesnt do this for the money. He has a bigtime job as a director in behavioral health. He tells the class he teaches because he likes it, and thats so obvious. He cares about the students. Hes totally there for you more than any other professor Ive had. class act, cool guy!

Best teacher at DSU. You have to go to class and be on time because he gives participation points for being that, and he does class activities that you have to be there for. Assignments are easy and fun, he gives specific details on what you need for an A on assignments. Final is pretty easy if you've been in class and took good notes. Loved him!

Guy just flunked me. My fault cause i missed a lot of class and didnt do all the assignments So dont expect to pass if you dont show up to class and if you miss assignments. Hes a good dude tho, and I liked the class when I went, so ill take it from him again. Im sure if i go to class and do the assignments it will be an easy A.

Reviews are accurate. Awesome class. Smart guy who actually works in the field he teaches about. He shares a lot of the research that he does with the State Division of Substance Abuse and he gives personal examples to explain every topic discussed. And he prompts good discussion and allows everyone to share their thoughts without judgement.

Professor Reid is awesome! He makes an 8 AM class worth getting up. His lectures are entertaining, interesting, and make understanding sociological concepts easy. He is very informative on what will be on quizzes and the final exam. Textbook isn't necessary, he says the readings will help, but he doesn't force you to read them.

By far the best professor I've had. He is passionate about the subject and it shows in his teaching. He made some of the tough concepts really easy to understand. All of his lectures are well thought out, but he's not like a robot. He'll totally follow the questions and the conversation and take the lecture where the class wants to go. I Recommend!

One of the most amazing professors I've ever had! His course is not difficult as long as you show up and do the work and lectures are very enjoyable and informative. You'll actually learn something! He's also very caring to all students and makes everyone feel great not to mention he's HILARIOUS. I defiantly recommend him.

This class is 2 and a half hours but Professor Reids lectures made the time go by quickly, you can tell he really cares about the subject and wants people to understand the subject as much as possible. Attendance is not required but you need to go if you want to pass he doesnt put his lectures online or allow late/ makeup assignments.

Logan Reid is the perfect kind of professor. He only has his teaching job because sociology is something he is passionate about and loves educating others in as well. He doesn't assign busy work, and all of his assignments really apply to the subject. If you put in the effort, this will be an easy, fun and interesting class.

He actually knows what hes talking about since he works in the field of sociology outside of being a professor. I hardly used the book, but the more you read it the better your grade will be. Be sure to show up (or have a good excuse) because he takes attendance at random. He gives a lot of relevant examples from experience and keeps you engaged.

He makes lectures interesting, exciting, fun to listen to. I'm not saying that for kicks and giggles, I'm a computer major, I don't care why humans act a certain way. So the fact that I was intrigued by his lectures means he's a great teacher. 10/10. Would Recommend (even if it's an early class).

This class is pretty interesting. It super easy. Just follow the rubrics and do what he asks and you'll be fine. The only thing I didn't like is that he seemed to be a little biased with some of his views. Overall though, a good professor that loves what he does.

Really good prof. He uses Canvas for all quizzes and gives five days to take them. Assignments are good and they teach you, its not just busy stuff. Make sure you use academic sources cause he checks. The inclass activities are always relavant and I learned a lot. he doesnt take late work so follow the calendar and ask if you have questions.

Hands down best professor I have ever had. I took his morning class, waking up to go to class was always enjoyable. He focuses on you actually learning and not memorize random material. Even if you dont have an interest in sociology take this course, You will not regret it, as long as you listen you will leave with a new perspective gaurenteed.

Professor Reid is a G. He has great stories and you can tell he is very educated in his field. Seriously don't skip his class, everyday there's some kind of class activity, pop quiz or even just points for attendance given out and absences will really hurt you in this class. Other than that great stuff, interesting material and amazing professor.

Professor Reid is one of the best professors one can have, his assignment's are well explained and easy but are still useful for learning about sociology. His group projects help understand the topic we are learning. Overall, easy A class and a plus is having an awesome teacher that comes with it!

Logan is a great teacher honestly if more teachers were like him college would be a much happier place I learned so much an he makes it interesting so you want to learn doesnt read straight from book or his slides keeps things fun an engaging! I would take another class from him again in a heartbeat and Ive already taken 2 from him!

Best professor on campus hands down. If you want a fun class that is interesting and where you will learn a ton, you should take his Soc Probs. But register early. His class fills up every single semester and there is always a humongous waitlist. Word is out that this guy is amazing, so his night class is always full.

Logan is AMAZING!! His lectures were so interesting, and with COVID and being an online class, he was very understanding. He cares about you as a person as well and he was there to talk to you about anything. He used the song I wrote about for the final and so the final was a breeze for me. The class is long, but he keeps you engaged!

Mr. Reid is an awesome professor. As long as you try and show up every day you should be able to pass his class. Showing up to class is important because he can give out pop quizzes or participation points that benefit your grade. I took his morning class and he always made it enjoyable. Would definitely take it again!

Professor Reid's class was very interesting. I loved his lectures and storytelling, ask about the time he was chased by a cop! (haha). He's not monotone at all and is enthusiastic. There's only a few assignments so stay on top of them and you should be fine. At the end of the semester he did assign 2 essays and 1 presentation, a little stressful.

Logan is such a natural people-person and teacher. He encourages discussion with everything he says, engages with the class, and is very entertaining. His lectures were very enlightening and informative, and I would recommend that anyone interested in social problems take his classes.

He's not the type of teacher that gives out tons of homework and tests, yet I learned so much just from listening to his life experiences and insights on sociological issues.
