I absolutely LOVED this guy! It's an easy class to make a B in... but if you want to make an A, you have GOT to read. Totally enjoyed his class!

He's tough but then after the first day is over he's really cool. He has alot of expectations from you and it isn't difficult to reach them at all. Take him. He's fun too. His lectures aren't boring, and his assignments are interesting.

He's very funny. The class for the most part is interesting except the boring movies. Lots of group work, and only one paper, and two exams. After three days of missing class he takes off points.

Loves theater, if you want to learn a lot take this class. He makes it fun, but is very serious about theater. It's a fun class and he's very colorful!!!

super fun! he's a trip and he has luggage, his ego that is. but all in all the class was awesome and i look forward to taking another liberal studies class with him1

Pretty easy as long as you take notes and read the book (and the plays). He expects a lot out of you for a LBST class, but it's worth it because you really do learn a great deal about theatre that you never knew before. All in all, a good professor.

He is a really good teacher and tries to make it fun! If you do the work, you will pass. I have learned a lot and have had fun! He's not like a regular teacher!

Take this class!! Lon is one of the most relatable teachers on this campus. He's serious about taking notes and studying, so be focused, but he makes it worth it.

Probably the greatest professor I have had so far. Lon is funny, intense, and serious about theater. Never a dull moment other than the videos. You have to 'make your mark' or work very hard to get an A. Don't skip play quizzes & get a good play job

Great Professor but as he will tell you the first day of class this course is not an easy "A". If you read all the quizes and attend class everyday, which he checks, you wont have any problem.

The first day he makes you seem like the class is not easy. It is. Just do the online quizzes.....make a comment every now and then and you'll be fine. He's funny too, and tries to make the class interesting everyday.

Awesome, awesome guy. Didn't really do much outside work for the class, including the group performance, and was able to pull an A. Great guy to talk to outside of class too. Yes he's full of himself but he's got a right (search for him on Yahoo!)

He's very interesting. It's not that he's easy, he makes it interesting and easy to learn. He's funny and articulate and draws you into his world. His class is a great experience.

He makes his own test. The majority of it is from his lecture. Very approachable. Attendance is counted and will not admit people who are late.

If you are in this class now ask around to see who has had his class before because material overlaps. It is an easy class if you know someone who has had it before.

He is the best! Be sure to remember to be in class on time! He won't admit you if you are late. He is super easy to listen to and extremely funny! If you have questions, ASK! You'll probably get extra credit for participation!

this class was fun...his notes are exactly what the tests are on so there is no way to fail them unless you don't study. he is a great professor and very passionate. participate in class it is apart of your grade and don't be late.

Lan is halarious and a really interesting teacher. He's a director so he knows his stuff and he keeps you interested. You have to pay attention for the midterm and final, but take good notes and his class is easy. Would deffinately recommend him. Sit in the front row!

Very funny and interesting teacher. He knows a lot about theater and he has great stories. You don't have to be a theater major to appreciate him. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

hes VERY arrogant!!!! take very good notes. participate and sit in the front and he'll love you. gives a lot of help, extra credit, and second chances. dont be late or miss a class hes strict on that. black is easier for this course

fun class, but not easy...his notes aren't that great and you definitely have to study to pass midterm/final! also have to do a play, which is a major part of your grade. but it's a lot of fun and he grades very fair!

Lon was absolutely wonderful! I can honestly say that his theatre class is the only one that I was excited about going to. He knows what he's talking about and makes it interesting enough to make you come back wanting to learn more.

Not an easy A but he loves what he does and is REALLY funny. Project at the end is a HUGE influence of your grade. Takes roll every day.

Not an easy class, but he is very interesting. He loves theatre and wants you to as well. Don't take him for an easy A, but otherwise a very good professor. You will have to produce a play!!!

This is a good class to take to fill your general education requirements. He is very easy to understand and it is not hard to do well if you take notes everyday (you have to come anyway). One of the funest classes I have taken so far.

Good class. You have to read a play every week and take an online quiz. Midterm and Final are hard but as long as you do good on our final play project and your quizzes and come to class you'll do fine.

There are no words as to how much I loved this class. He is the BEST prof at UNCC. He's so interesting and funny and the hour FLIES by. Read the plays (don't bother with the other book, I didn't) and participate in class and it will be a somewhat easy, enjoying class. (The project isn't that bad.)

This turned out to be my favorite class. Read the plays. If you copy notes word for word and know them, you will do fine on final and midterm. Attendance and participation is a must. Lon is an awesome teacher.

Very cocky! but nice guy. gives a lot of work for his 10 minute plays but if you do the work you should be fine. a lot of studing; only a test and a midterm and some ramdom quizes. READ THE MATERIAL cause he asks questions and gives points each day.

Lon is the coolest. Its more work than I would like to do and I don't like theatre, but Lon as a person is one of the coolest profs. in the school

He is pretty cocky, but he is an awesome prof. He is really funny and makes theater very interesting. I hated theater before, but he made it fun. The project and the end sucked, but his class is easy if you just show up and take notes. Overall, he is really funny and a great prof.

Awesome and completely hilarious. Not an easy A by any means, but the work is worth the fun class time. He completely knows what he is talking about, and kicks so much arse. Haha.

REALLY funny guy. He is always willing to help if you go and ask! Attendance and class participation are mandatory! Test are pretty hard so make sure to know your notes really well. His lectures are easy to follow and he tries to make them interesting (with visuals and examples), though some of the material is really boring!

LON ROCKS! He is the best kind of teacher out there, he loves what he teaches so much that it makes taking his class a blast. The whole experience has been like Satutday Night Live... only you get credit for being there. However,"DON'T BE A HARD ASS!"TIPS: do the work, write your journals as you go, and ASK QUESTIONS! Also, he is fluent in badass!

Lon is awesome! He makes every lecture entertaining and fun. Even learning about Romans and Greeks was fun because of his humor and examples. Not an easy A, but his point system makes it hard to pass. Going to class is never a pain because he's so funny and interesting.. great guy to talk to about anything, too!

He really is a great teacher. Very difficult class. Not an easy A like you would expect. Of my 6 classes for the semester, that one truly was the most difficult and required the most hours outside of class. He is funny and entertaining so class time goes by super fast. Excellent class if you are willing to put in the work.

The class is fun, I grant you that. But you dont learn much except for random facts about theatre life. So, if you love to talk in class, and are willing to put in a little effort for the semester project, then take him.

This class was harder than I thought it would be but as long as you do all the work and participate in class...you'll be fine!

Pretty decent teacher. Very cocky and opinionated though. Class was pretty easy, and he kept it interesting and funny. 10-minute plays were kind of fun, although stressful. Beats the hell out of taking lbst music or art (BORING!). Overall a good class. And he's pretty hot.

Dont let him fool you, this class is super easy even thought he tries to front like it is hard! Don't by the book just use cliff notes for the plays. The two test are just simple memory games (word-4-word off the notes). His lectures are soo GOOD, I learned more about the world than theatre... He is the best lecturer I had all semester...

DO NOT TAKE THEATRE FOR AN EASY A! This class is interesting but requires a lot of work. Lon is a great professor. Some tips for success: Read all of the plays for the quizzes, participate, come to class daily and ON TIME, memorize your notes for the tests, and get a good play creation job! hint*dramaturge*hint Do all of that and you will get an A!

Class is much easier than he tells you. If you go every day, turn in your quizzes, and use all your tickets you can easily make an A. Tests come straight from the notes. But, if you can, work on one of the department productions instead of a ten-minute play. It's much easier, and less stressful.

i loved this clsss, and i hate theatre. its easy if you pay attention and do well on the quizes. i bout the book but didnt read the quizes , just cliff notes and did pretty good. i enjoyed doing the 10 minute play in class, but it was pretty stressful. he's an amazing teacher and i really enjoyed the class.he makes it interesting

great teacher, def take this class. if u can do the production instead of the 10 min play it gets you out of some classes and its worth it. just go to class everyday and take notes and u'll be good. cliffnotes work for the quizzes and his tests are word for word from the notes

amazing teacher and very passionate about theatre. the quizes are all online and they're very easy. 5 questions with one (max 2) word answers. only 2 exams and they're not that hard if you pay attention (which isn't hard to do with him) and take notes. i'd recommend it even if you don't have that much of an interest in theatre.

One of the best ever!! He's VERY passionate about what he teaches. If you pay attention (not just be there), you'll score well on his exam (2). There's no written work, just read 5 plays, and take a quiz. Try to avoid the 10minute play if you can, this does take a lot of personal effort. *Photocopy the plays from textbook, and return the book!!

Wonderful teacher! Interesting, funny, and I had no idea what the class was, but I'm so thrilled I chose it!

The single best class you will ever take if you're are interested in being in the film industry. Lon is a fantastic teacher and WILL NOT give up on you if you don't get it. Don't go into this as a breeze class, go in because you want to learn, and he will teach you everything!

Very fun teacher. Class is NOT meant to teach you acting. It teaches you theatre history. Class atmosphere is very laidback, but you MUST study for tests because it comes DIRECTLY from notes, word for word. Hardest part is earning tickets, which you must correctly answer questions in class, but you can still get an A without a few.

i absolutely loved his class. tests are word for word of the notes. you can read the sparknotes for the play quizes and still make 100. attendance is taken and he won't let you come in late but the class is a lot of fun and goes by fast

Lon was the coolest professor you could ask for. Test were literally straight from the notes, so take those. Only two big tests, and quizzes for the plays you read are online(real easy). VERY funny guy and easy to listen to. The class flew by. Oh and attendance is mandatory, and you cant be late. But it's one of those classes you dont want to miss

I loved lon!His class was awesome and i loved every minute of it... yes you have to go but you will want to! i loved his stories and in my opinion he has a right to brag so i had no porblems with that. take this class!!

Great teacher. Has a masters in acting but has not acted for 25years due to (ironically) extreme stage fright. Tells great stories and great methods of teaching. You have to read plays and do online 5 ? tests. But theyre easy. You can just use sparknotes. Tries to threaten about the class but he does it because he is scared of you! Overall good guy

Lon is AMAZING. Take his LBST class for your gen. ed. requirement. The material may not always be interesting, but Lon makes it fun and entertaining. Tests are straight from the notes (2 per semester) and quizzes can be sparknoted. Lon is honestly one of the best professors I've ever had. I love going to class!

INCREDIBLY helpful. If you're serious about your work he will acknowledge that and work with you. Has fascinating stories to tell. I learned a great deal. One of my favorite theatre teachers to date.

Lon is by far the most amazing professor I've had at UNCC. His style of teaching is much more hands on and is truly focused on everyone getting the technique he is presenting. Some parts of the technique were hard to grasp at first, but Lon made sure that everyone got it before moving on. Attendance is mandatory so go to class!

Great professor! He sure knows his film history. If you are a film major, definitely take him. The tests and quizzes are not hard, but you've got to pay attention. 2 papers throughout the semester

Lon is a wonderful professor. Although he is stern and the quizzes can be difficult, he pushes his students to be responsible and truly retain information. He truly cares for his students, and I would recommend him to anyone that is looking for a professor that will push them to be their best.
