i have an A and i have 1 missing paper and don't do the reading and leave 30min into class
She's a really weird teacher. On the first few days of class she forgot a lot of things, including her purse and a handout we needed. Every day she played a song related to the reading and if we explain the relation, we get 1 extra credit point. Didn't do the reading and got a B. Open book tests, just copy a paragraph from the book ;]
I'm taking her class online. I know that a 5 credit class has a lot of work, and that history has a lot of reading but this is crazy! 2 precis, 2 book reports plus a research paper, not to mention weekly tests from the textbook. She is cool, but WAY to much work. Since I'm part-time, this would be a class I took by itself without others.
I freaked out on the 1st day of class when she said we had 2 book reviews, 2 precis and a 6-8 page research paper to do. I was registered for 16 credits and didn't think I'd have the time. It was easier than I thought. The weekly quizzes are open book and PLEASE stay in class for discussion. Those of us who stayed got stuck with everyone else's ?s.
shes a very nice lady, but does expect you to read ALOT. all tests from the text book are open book so no need to read any chapters, but you will have to read 4 full novels, and write 3 to 6 page reviews on them. if your lazy, sparknotes.com will work if they have the book you need. she will help you as much as u need, and is very nice about it.
Not a bad class but she tends to talk down to students as if most of us know nothing. Easy research paper but she makes it sound much harder then it really is, she just needs to treat students more like college level thinkers and less like high school students.
This instructor had no clue how to handle online class. Didn't provide guidelines or feedback on written assignments. Vague. Alot of reading.
She makes you address her as Dr., seriously? If you can take this class from another teacher do it.Barely teaches, yet expects an exorbitant amount of work from her students, found myself often confused, with little direction provided.Expect to read and write a lot.Even the weekly class participation has no direction, much like the teacher.AVOID!!!
HARD, but worth every second! I felt completely spent at the end of the semester, but looking back, it was one of the best classes I ever had. And yes, you have to call her Doctor. She earned it, unlike some of those who disparage her.
One of the best teachers I have ever had. If you do the work you can easily get an A. She was super helpful and always responded to my questions and emails right away.
Not the best teacher, considering teachers actually teach. Very little or no instruction at all, I took this class online and she wasnt even sure how to run it so it was difficult to follow. She expects students to read through the entire syllabus and writing guide to figure out on their own what to do for assignments, and barely ever teaches
Oh my Dr.
This class (online) was def. frusturating. She made sure to mention that she teaches graduate students and has soo much to grade all the time. She always refers back to the syllabus as if it's hard to give a quick answer. Lenient on grading but otherwise it's easier talking to a wall than trying to recieve feedback.
I just finished a course with this instructor. She did not have instruction. There were many additional readings. Each week her annoucements were like "to do" lists. If you can avoid her, please do.
She's actually quite a good professor. She gives way too much homework, however, and sometimes seems unwilling to help us through a topic we don't understand.
If you speak up and are opinionated you'll get slaughtered. Tons of work, but you can use all your notes on the tests.
This is the worst teacher I have ever had. She does not supply guidelines as to what to write about and does NOT provide instruction at all!!! It also seems like our discussion questions are not related to the chapters. It is also IMPOSSIBLE to get an A in the class. If at all possible, DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!! DON'T DO IT!!!!!!
She is all over the place. Very unorganized and difficult. Online testing and huge exam in the end. She expects so much and gives us so little information on what to do. I would NOT recommend her! Syllabus is sooo unclear and just...ugh...please dont take her!
Unless you are an undergraduate or a graduate taking classes at clark (not likely) I would not suggest this teacher. Her discussion questions make no sense and no one in the class understands. Again I say NEVER take a class with this teacher!
This class was fairly easy. She assigns a lot of writing assignments, but she is an easy grader, and if you don't do well on an assignment, she will usually let you redo it and you can still receive full credit. Easy A!
If you get this teacher, transfer out. the topics we discuss and the activities we do we will not need for the final test. the final has a 16 page essay an if you do not complete the essay you will fail the final. she is unorganized and does not explain things at all. do not take her class.
This is the worst teacher I have ever had in every way. Do not take this class. She knows everything about history but knows nothing about teaching.
"Dr." Bromson sucks. Hardest class for male students. Such a feminist, she cries whenever she reads about women suffrage. Learned nothing of value from the class. Recommend dropping or switching teachers. Hardest B I've ever gotten.
She seems like she does in fact know a lot about history and was well educated but did not teach us with any intrest. For a 100 level class you'd think she'd be a little more explanitory to us. Drop the class. Very hard to understand. She claims not to lecture. The lectures are online. Hated the class. Drop it while you still can. Seriously.
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. It was horribly hard and she was very condescending.
the most disappointing thing about her class was the fact that the in the class registry her class is listed as a non-online or hybrid class but when we started we quickly found out that she pawned a lot of the work that should have been done in class off on a website that she put all off the lectures ans study questions but no study notes.
I wish i would have dropped this class. Attendance is worthless, you do a bunch of useless side work.i would have learned more spending the 2 hours in the library reading instead of sitting in her class. she expects you to know everything about history prior to her class. DO NOT TAKE
Do not take this class! She is a useless teacher who does not teach. If you Ask her a question she always answers with "see the writing guide" or "that's in the syllabus". Neither one of these things is helpful! Everything was very unclear and she was useless. Drop this class immediately!
Quite easily the worst instructor I have ever had at Clark. She assigns a ton of useless "busy work" that does not help us with the assignments. Assumes everyone taking the class wants to be a history major. Would often read aloud off the internet during class instead of coming up with her own lesson plans. Do not take!
Absolutely the worst professor ever. She does no respond to your posts (online course)but instead posts about herself. She expects a lot out of you, stuff that does not make sense. The course however is easy. Just do not expect her to help you. And remember to call her Dr. Bramson and to only use website sources from her 'website'.
Bramson demanded a lot of work in the online class; I can't imagine how much her live class required. Not only did we have to read the book and take quizzes, but we also had to do research on and write about each time period. She was SUPER STRICT on citation! We also had to do "historical analyses" on the primary sources. Don't take her class!
The syllabus seems intimidating but once you get the formatting down and put some effort into it, it is pretty simple. There are weekly 1000 word posts, and weekly quizzes that you can retake as many times as you want. You can't use online sources, but I didn't bother going to a library where I could find plenty of the allowed books on google books
You hardly talk about history in class.
I got at A and the textbook was awesome, but those are the only good things about this class. She was very confusing with directions. When you ask a question she beats around the bush and doesn't answer. She does not lecture AT ALL. If you are an independent learner than I suggest taking this class for an easy A, but if you aren't then DON'T.
She is one of the most confusing and worst professors, very confusing and unclear. I hated the class and she was very hard to understand and gave way to much work that was not relevant to what we needed to what we were learning. STRONGLY RECCOMEND SWITCHING CLASSES IMMIDENTLY!!!!!!!
Bramson, Is a horrible teacher. I wouldn't recommend her to anybody. She states that everything is plagiarized, without proof and explains nothing during class time. I found her class to be a waste of time, and money.
The teacher does not even teach you history. She teaches about primary sources that do not even relate to what we should be learning. She also wastes class time to have students listen to songs that won't help the students learn about the history. Super boring class!
Sub-par professor. She demands academic perfection and "college level writing". Her writing, however is the most convoluted, confusing mumble I've ever had from a course professor. She wants to be regarded as a master historian and there's a lot of work each week. In my opinion, her expectations are too high. Also, organize your course.
This instructor was very derogatory and not helpful. She criticizes your work and is quite rude about it. She demands what she calls college level writing, which is her own form of writing that is not ordinary to college courses. I highly recommend not taking her, it is a lot of work, and is very hard on a person to be put down over and over.
By far one of the worst professors I have ever had. Extremely rude and not helpful at all. I took this course online and I don't even think I'm going to pass because of her attitude and inability to help her students.
I would not recommend taking a course with Bramson. She comes across very confusing, and is not helpful at all. Her grading is never the same, or fair. Not a good course if you are looking for A's.
I thoroughly enjoyed her class and learned a lot. It was an online course, so as long as you are self motivated and do your work, it should be an easy A. Throughout the quarter, She always gave informative feedback and offered help to anyone who had less than an 80%.
This was the most difficult class I have taken. However, Dr. Bramson teaches in a way that makes you learn, and I appreciate it. She responded to email and offered help - she wants students to succeed. I nearly dropped the class but I am glad I stuck with it. I am more prepared for future courses, and to me that means she taught, and I learned.
By far one of the worst teachers I have ever had. She makes class so dang hard that I wish I had dropped the class. Best part is I turned in the same essay to two different teachers, and received 20 point difference in Grade. Yeah. Everything is plagerized and she wants you to watch movies, 2 hour lectures, and spend 20 hours a week in class. DROP!
I marked Bramson as hilarious, because her teaching is a joke. In my three days of class with her, she was unclear, and unorganized. I had to drop my online class with her because when I asked her to clarify she just told me to read it again, well I've read it ten times, had someone else read it and we both couldn't find it. She is very rude!
Took her online course. Overall, she's awful. If I asked for helpunderstanding criteria, she would say read the syllabus. I did, like 30 times. Also, she leaves snotty comments on work (I.E "I thought you understood this. What happened?!") What happened was she wont explain anything to us. The Syllabus isn't super clear either.
I do not recommend this teacher for any 1st year students, her directions can be very confusing and if you have no prior knowledge on the topics she teaches than you wont be successful when tested on them. She tries to trick students more than teach. Sweet lady just not the best at teaching, she is more passionate about the subject then the student
I took her class through running start in 2011. Now I'm a student at UW and can still say this was the most difficult classprofessor I've had at community college and my UW profs. Take this with ANYONE but her. But if you do pass and work your butt off like I did and get an A, it'll be the greatest accomplishment of your LIFE.
This seems more like a "how to properly cite using Terubian" class rather than a History class. She expects all information to come from books that she provides, which we have to then search for online. I spend more time trying to figure out what I am allowed to use on a paper, rather than writing the paper itself. It is ridiculous.
RIDICULOUS class. I had 2 RS kids spend more time finding sources than study history. She has a "list" (outdated and some only at Clark Library--and this is an online course). She's snide and her default response to any question is to look at her syllabus, which is what you've already done! Total waste of time if you actually want to learn history.
She states in her syllabus that she rarely gives an "A." You will need to work super, hard day and night in this class just to pass, and be prepared for criticism and ridiculous assignments with long Annotated Bibliographies.
This is the hardest class I've ever taken. Expect several long writing assignments every week. You will also be forced to use books as your source so watch out if you are not familiar with how to use a library. I'm a very good student and had trouble keeping up. She is very unreasonable and confusing. This class is just terrible, TERRIBLE!
Three 500 word essays a week and a test with unlimited retakes (and answers on quizlet) No final, no long essays. The class format and rules take some getting used too, but just pick online sources from the class biblio(its 100+ pages long) each week and you're good.
I wouldn't recommend to anyone. I had multiple health issues causing me to miss out on over 400 points; she wouldn't accept any doctors notes although they were credible & up to her written standards. She made me feel bad about my work, telling me I'm getting the lowest grades possible and she gave up on trying to help me. 3 essays & 1 test a week
Make sure you address her as DR. BRAMSON or else... I think that she is the only person in the world to use Chicago citations. Expect 3 500+ word academic essays a week. She does not have her own lectures she uses lectures from Yale. Gives video feedback which cuts off mid sentence. Easily the hardest class I've ever taken. Do not advise taking it.
She's a tough grader but if you follow her advice, you'll be aight
Lucky for me this wasn't my first quarter at Clark, however I was caught off guard by the amount of work she requires . I'm currently taking the hardest science classes Clark has to offer, but this high-school level class is making me work for my A.
This class is tough but prepares you for college like no other class. You have 3 500 word essays a week, which are hard to write at first but as you proceed through the course you get used to it. No final which is a plus! She is a fair grader, the more you improve the better your grade is. If you are not good at analyzing, this is not your class!
Class seems overwhelming at first but once you get started it is not hard. Gives accurate and helpful feedback and is not a tough grader. Same 3 500 word essays and a test each week on the same days so does not take up much time and you can do the assignments anytime before. Also no finals
I took this online. She made md Skype her if I got a bad grade on an assignment.
Just don't.
One of the worst teachers I've ever had.
At first the class seems very overwhelming, but it is the same assignments each week and gets easier as the course goes on. There are no finals or midterms and Dr. Bramson gives helpful feedback. As long as you strictly follow the syllabus, you will get an A.
Three 500 word essays (2 initial and 1 response) every week and a chapter quiz every week. Unlimited attempts at quizzes. Essays are easy. No midterm or final. Could probably pass course without textbook, but it was very useful for me. Has lectures to watch but the content is not included in anything graded. Seems to put little effort into class.
Three 500 word essays and a quiz every single week. Absolutely annoying to deal with but there were no tests/finals and her grading was clear. I appreciated the freedom of the online class but it was so time consuming with heavy reading and writing.
Did not enjoy her class. Feedback was abrupt and not constructive. I struggled to meet her deadlines each week around my schedule. Her deadlines do not have a clear flow and felt cramped. Writing expectations are hard to figure out and all over the place. It took me five times to write an essay that meets her certain, overly-specific criteria.
Avoid at all cost!!! Annoying amount of work and not constructive feedback. I have never felt better the day i finished this class.
WORST TEACHER AT CLARK!!!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I have never met such a rude and uncaring teacher such as her. Her feedback is 0% helpful, and her comments are very mean, and she does not help you what so ever
She had ridiculously high expectations for a stupid history class. Was supposed to be an easy class, but she requires that you use ONLY acedemic sources in discussion essays, very picky about getting bibliography JUST RIGHT and using sources from a list she provides. Once you realize her expectations, you can get the hang of it though.
I found the professor rude and condensing. If you find yourself in her class always have the syllabus handy. Use only her 100 page bibliography as sources get your books ahead of time because you have to order some of them. And learn Chicago citation. Her feedback doesnt make sense so find a buddy. Overall I would not take again but it is doable
Class has a crazy amount of work. She is rude and gives feedback that is not even somewhat helpful. AVOID AVOID AVOID
She was a nice teacher she just makes us do a lot of busy work. I felt like it didn't really matter if you got the material of not it was all about if the essay I wrote was done perfectly. She is so particular about what you cite as well.
In Dr. Bramson's class, you have to write 3 essays a week and complete one quiz a week. With all of the other homework that you recieve from other classes, the work startes to pile up. I could barely keep up with all of the work. Luckily she didn't notice when I turned in my work on a later day in the week before she could grade it ;)
Three essays a week and a lot of the sources she gave you to use are very different to understand because they are all primary sources. Writing as essay in one day using a journal entry from the 15 hundreds is the worst thing, she will give you a bad grade and then give vague feedback.
Worst teacher Ive ever had. She is very rude and just overall doesnt care about anyones feelings. During a group Skype call she said that running start kids dont know anything and never do well at clark. Shes a very very hard grader and sends you videos as her feedback. Wouldnt recommend her again.
TRUST ME DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS. Im taking this course online but I found out this class is not one to take if you are a busy person. Every week you write 3 papers and take multiple inquizitive tests. & if you email her questions that are simple & specific she never understands what your asking which gets frustrating.
If you have social anxiety DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. I'm taking her online class and we have to write 3 essays a week and all of them are submitted to a discussion board so all of your classmates are able to read your essay. & 1 of those essays is a response essay where you read a peers scenario essay & respond to their essay by writing an essay
Dr. Bramson was the best teacher I have had at Clark since I have been here! I took in person HIST prior to her class with a different professor and failed. Once I took her class, I felt so much more confident in my work and felt proud of what I was submitting each week. Yes-- there is a lot of work each week but she is clear, great! 10/10
This class may seem overwhelming at first, especially if you are taking 15 credits. Loni is so unclear and hard to follow. Do not recommend. Take this class ONLY if you have no other choice.
I took this class online and would not recommend to take this professor. She gives way too much homework, 3 essays a week and a quiz on top of that. The essays sometimes didnt make sense how to write them. She gives extra credit if you do all your work before finals week that was what barely helped me get through this class.
a quiz every week based on insanely long textbook chapters. 3 essays every week. could only use her list of specific sources which sounds helpful but is actually so confusing to work with and navigate through. it's nearly impossible to balance work in this class if you're taking other classes as well unless you're willing to become sleep deprived.
The work load is unbelievable. Every week she expects 3 essay, and you must read 2-3 books in order to write them. She also expects you to read a chapter of the text book each week (which takes about an hour) and you must take a quiz after. She is a very tough grader, and if you have not completed college level English DO NOT take her class.
Loni has you write 3 essays, read very long chapters, and take a quiz that take up about 2-3 hours each week. Her teaching is explaining everything in a 12 syllabus. Shes zero help and doesnt teach on her own. My advice is to only take this class if you have to and if its the only credit youre taking.
Loni's class is a lot of work. But easy once you understand how to write each of the essays. If you are not self disciplined and have a hard time balancing heavy school work, I would choose a different professor. if you aren't good at or don't like writing/reading, DO NOT take this class.
She strict
LOTS of writing. I would recommend finishing work for this class first because you do not want to save it for later and be miserable.
Literally the WORST professor ever. Do not take her. She is so beyond rude and does not teach at all. Avoid her like the plague.
Was not accommodating despite the fact that the class was online because of Covid-19. She assigned about 3 essays a week, plus quizzes , discussion boards, and zoom meetings. The essays required 2 sources each, from a list of primary sources that were difficult to attain because the school library is closed.
She is awful. Made me cry so much during the fall quarter. Literally asked her for help and she didn't do anything. Please for love of Jesus himself do not take her for this class. 3 essays a week plus Inquisitives makes a person hate living. Highly recommend social distancing from her. <3 Only reason I got an A was because I made up everything.
3 essays a week 500 words each, lots of work but after the class its easy to write a short essay textbook is required and useful for essays i also recommend looking up the book titles on google that she gives you in bibliography and that way you dont have to pay or pick up books
Seriously, dont take her if u value ur mental health. This class brought me so much stress from the second I read the syllabus. Theres too much work and no extensions, its like she doesnt realize students have jobs and other classes. And she said she wanted to make the class fun, it was the worst part of my life at the time. Loni, ease up.
DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS! This is the first class I've ever dropped, and I don't regret it. She expects so much from her students - even though we're going through a pandemic. In order to pass this class you have to memorize the textbook and sacrifice your mental health. With love <3, your friend :)
I see people's comments on Dr. Bramson and I think she was an awesome Professor!! As long as you let her know what is going on in your life ahead of time, she will do her best to ensure you are able to turn in your work. She responds really fast, especially when you are asking for feedback. She is a tough grader, but will assist you if needed.
Would literally never have again, especially for an online class! Unless you love writing 3 essays that have to be 500 words, every week. Not to mention, having to read a chapter from a textbook and take Inquizative tests weekly. Wouldn't recommend taking this class while doing afterschool activities and sports.
Worst professor I have ever had.
So here's the deal. Most of the History Teachers at Clark are gonna have you doing a crack load of work. Just what it is.... Three essays a week at 500 a pop and the prompts are both weak and a very limited group of sources to choose from has me nervous for this term. Probably pick someone else.
She is a poor grader, and take forever to respond to emails. Will not help you unless you set up a zoom meeting. She was so bad I had to get the head of her department involved and she tried to not follow through. So save yourself the money and stress and not take this class
I had to take a History 148 class as a requirement and Man oh man. I stayed in her class for ONE week and left. -Every week there is a very long lecture to watch and three essays to write per week. -You have to read a chapter from the required textbook and take a quiz on it every week, and lots of books you need to buy/borrow to use as sources.
Appalling. Lori assigns three essays a week all required to be 500 words minimum. She then makes sure to have the rubric be as vague as possible to preserve her ability to get away grading you harshly. No extensions will be granted either. Response times were also incredulously egotistical (on average 8-9 hours). Avoid Loni like the plague.
Lori was by far the worst professor I have ever had. Let the ratings do the talking if you don't believe me. As others have wrote; avoid her like the plague. P.S. She wasn't even in the United States when I was enrolled in the course. Further showing her lack of commitment to teaching.
I'm a Junior in running start and let me tell you, this class wasn't as bad as the people on here say it was. There are no finals, no midterms, same thing every week. You should be good to go if you can handle 500-word-required essays, about 30 pages of a textbook, and a weekly quiz (which is incredibly easy). She gives meh feedback.
Professor Bramson assigns three five-hundred word essays a week. Two of these essays are due on Wednesday and the third is due on Friday. Little is actually learned about History, as Professor Bramson only seems to grade based on the format of the essays, rather than actual historical analysis.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!!! i'm a running start student who is motivated to do schoolwork, and i get perfect grades. I dropped this class after 2 weeks. She assigns 3, 500+ word essays per week plus a quiz, states clearly that she expects you to spend at least 20 hours a week. sources must be stated in chicago format and cited alphabetically.
Loni Bramson manages to by herself demonstrate why people believe that higher education is a den of elitism. She requires a minimum of 1,500 words per week of essays. This is by itself not an issue- but combined with her insistence on not using any source not found through a Clark database or her course bibliography and it becomes a slog.
I am not learning a single thing in this class. 3 essays a week is already ridiculous, but seeing some of the prompts that we get to choose from makes me really uncomfortable. For example writing from the perspective of a slave or a slave master. The professor is fine, but it feels like she doesn't know her students take more than just her course.
Loni Bramson is a great teacher and the work that was given each week is easy and can be completed in an hour. Each week you have to write about 1,500 words split up between assignments and take a small quiz (the answers are easy to find online). I would take Dr.Bramson's class again just make sure you stay on top of things and read the feedback
I'm a junior in Running Start and this class wasn't as hard as the other students are making it out to be. You're required to do some reading, 3 500-word essays weekly, and an easy quiz. The grading is meh, as long as you follow the rubric. I probably wouldn't take her again but there's no midterms or final exams! Pretty average & time-consuming
All the RS kids can only complain about is how much work Dr. Bramson gives. The course work for history is gonna be intense. I took her class first online my first term my junior year of highschool and although she is strict on the rules of writing, watch as you become a much more skilled writer. Challenging yet rewarding. 100% recommend
Dr. Bramson is a tougher but not impossible professor. Each week looks the exact same in her course. Three 500-word essays each week based on a section of textbook we read the week before. The course starts, first week with no essays and reading of a textbook and quiz. then each week 3 essays and another reading and quiz. Hard but not too bad.
The strategy that Prof. Bramson uses for the course is ridiculous. At a minimum, you will have to read for two-three hours in your textbook and write three essays a week. The workload isn't impossible to do once you get used to it, but you need to be a good writer. I definitely would not recommend this professor.
I had Professor Bramson for a graduate course over the summer semester at Rutgers this past year, which means a semester compacted into 6-8 weeks of intense material immersion. I enjoyed the plethora of material she made accessible and that she did not approach topics with a singular perspective. I'd take other courses she taught if available.
I was shocked and in tears the first day of the term.Three essays a WEEK, WHAT?Reading her Canvas assignments were so confusing and made my head spin. She is very untech savvy and disrespectful towards her students. Every time I emailed her for help, her response was "in the syllabus". Even her office hours were inflexible/short, once a week 2hrs.
Absolutely. Ridiculous. Do NOT take this class unless you are prepared to do 3 essays a week using pretty much 0 instructions.
Dr. Bramson has been one of the best professors I have ever had. In this class you had to read a section of the textbook and write 3 500 word essays a week which sounds daunting but is truly not difficult. The prompts are very clear and allowed you to explore the many different opinions of the era talked about. Definitely a great professor to take.
This professor assigns so much work and the work load was ridiculous, like 20 hours a week just for this class
Teachers instructions are very unclear and she expects too much from each student
NEVER AGAIN. Three essays a week is diabolical.
This was one of my first classes as a running start student and it was awful! She assigns 3 essay a week on top of reading from the textbook and research exercises. You cannot turn in late work and good luck trying to get help because her office hours are 10-11 PM on Sunday nights. Grading feedback isn't clear on what you did right or wrong.
If you have a good work ethic, this class is easily passable. But getting an A is HARD She gives very vague feedback and never elaborates Office hours are 10-11pm on Sundays No latework or leniency or understanding for late submissions 3 essays a week, which you will end up likely writing each in a day. LOTS OF EXTRA CREDIT!!
She was really rude and wouldn't help you if you didn't know how to do somthing she also graded really tough and I never got anything over a c+
Subject matter of the class was not difficult, but tedious. Three essays per week which often extend past the 500 word minimum set a fast pace (+ quizzes). The most time consuming part was using the bibliography and Clark library to find and skim through various books and papers to use for each essay. Solid feedback. Challenging. Manage time!
This class has a heavy writing load, but the structure works well if you keep up with the reading and essays. unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for essay prep - definitely recommend it alongside the textbook.
This teacher accused me of plagiarism even though I didn't. When I tried to explain she wouldn't listen and wouldn't work with me to fix the problem. She failed me and I had to re-take the class.
This teacher is racist. There are three papers a week, which is challenging, but you get used to them. My main problem is the prompts; you have to write as a slave owner teaching his son how to punish slaves. I was uncomfortable and had to report her. If you are not religious before this class, pick one and start praying!!!
If you have a bunch of late work and go to her zoom she'll let you turn it in.
DO NOT TAKE This professor expects you to dedicate over 20 hours of your time each week to only this class! 3 essays a week on top of quizzes is absolutely diabolical! She is not tech savvy nor available for questions except for ONE hour on Sundays. If you send her a question via canvas her answer will always be “It's in the syllabus”. BAD TEACHER!
This teacher is the ABSOLUTE worst, I had to drop the class because she assigns so much work, too much work that is too time consuming for just ONE class ABSOLUTELY devious!! Only office hours are Sunday nights at 9:30-10:30 PM. She grades your essay's roughly and is racist and doesn't give ANY instructions on essays or assignments. DONT RECOMMEND!
Assigning 3 papers a week is diabolical. Expects you to read 300 page books to write an essay in such a short amount of time. NOBODY should take her, she was my last option. Signup early so you can get the good teachers, you will regret taking her I PROMISE!!
Very heavy workload. One assignment and two tests on Monday, essays on Tuesday Wednesday and Friday. The prompts for the essays are absolutely awful though, and it made me uncomfortable. For example, "you are white and your school is to be desegregated. Justify your vehement, even violent efforts to stop this." Absolutely would not recommend.
She's completely unavailable, her office hours start at 9 PM on a Sunday. What the hell? Some people have children or jobs or a life. She's a tough grader who doesn't give helpful feedback, and is not accepting of late work. I hated her class, but at least the online textbook tests were pretty easy to do. Really my only positive take-away.
I don't recommend her to anyone. At all.
I do not need 3 essays and 2 quizes a week
SO MUCH WORK IM SO TIRED. you will be okay if you have a good schedule, can read tons of info, and have good work ethic. a very busy class also make sure you cite correctly. 😥 other than the work, this professor isn't mean it's just she's a really tough teacher.
This professor assigns so much work in such an absurdly short amount of time. The main problem are the essays, where she basically gives you one day to do all the research and writing for each of them. Its just so much work for one class I wouldn't recommend her to anyone or ever take any of her classes again.
Too much homework for no reason, with my busy life I could barely keep up with everything. Wouldn't recommend tbh, barely passed even tho I'm smart
This class was quite terrible. There are two essays to write every week plus more hours' worth of homework. For my last essay, I got a 0 even though I followed the rubric. I was told that I submitted the wrong essay, and I was also told it was “too late” to fix it. She clearly didn't care. Please choose a different professor for this course.
