Lora is a very nice professor. She has, in my option one of the largest knowlegde of Religion, emphasizing on many different religions. Very easy to get high grades. Class is awsome, field trips and so on...

Interesting class, you learn about Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism and Christianity. Nice teacher and good sense of humor. Wants class participation a lot and has several assignments. Class average is a B. Tests are fairly hard but you just have to study the notes. Some outside readings, I recommend her

The class could've been a lot more interesting, but other than that she is a very good teacher. She definitely knows what she is talking about. She is always willing to help her students out. You have a couple of writing assignments, but you don't have to do much reading. I'd take another class with her, and I'd highly reccommend her.

Hobbs is a great and easy teacher. She is very fair, but is really funny in class and her class is pretty easy. She lectures, you have 2 tests that are really easy, 2 or 3 really easy papers and you read Tuesdays with Morrie, which was really good. You don't have to buy any textbook other than TWM.

Loved Lora! She was great! Tests were pretty easy...and I'm a bad test taker. As long as you keep an open mind about religion you'll be fine. Easy papers, easy tests, class was easy over all. The only way you could get anything less than a B is if you are trying!

Lora is a great teacher! She is very open-minded and is always open to questions and other views. You have a couple of papers to write, but they are easy (2-3 pages each). You have a couple of quizzes which are easy as well, and two tests which aren't bad at all! I'd highly recommend her to anyone and would take her again.

shes a good teacher. you have to get all her notes and pay attention to her though. a lot of test questions came from movies and the book that we had to read on our own. good teacher though easy to understand and if you study the tests won't be too hard. final was brutal though

Great professor. Very clear in her lectures/assign. Really wants students to learn. Very approachable and encourages questions and participation. Tests are not bad if you study. Several essays that are not bad if you put effort into them. Great teacher and I would definitely recommend this class. Subject matter is fascinating.

Lora is a great teacher! She teaches objectively--she's not biased. She allows time for questions and answers them until the students understand. The quizzes are really easy, and the tests are easy as well. She reviews so much that you don't really have to study for the tests. I would definitely recommend her. It's an easy A.

Lora is awesome! It was an easy A and I didn't study that much. We wrote several papers which were easy and gave a presentation which was really relaxed. We really didn't have to read the book; just get the terms out of it. I really recommend her!

EASYYYYY Class! If you go, you'll get an A. She really relates the material she teaches to your personal life. She gives essays that are EASY- and you get to read a GOOD book. I hate reading. And I loved this book. Use text little. Small easy quizes common. Medium- hard tests, must study. Know your stuff. It's easy to learn though. TAKE HER FOR AN

Best teacher of my freshman year. Just go to class and do the notes for the quizzes like every 2 weeks and you will be guaranteed at least a "B". Look over notes for the tests and final is very easy. Will help anyone with anything, anytime. Would take again, but dropping out and joining military. Words cannot express how nice she is.

Lora Hobbs is my favorite teacher this semester. She really takes time to get to know her students and that makes you want to do better in the class. If you do your homework and turn it in on time you will have no problem in the class. She is the best teacher I have had yet, so i strongly advise her!

The BEST professor I have ever had in a religions class!

I had Ms. Hobbs for Women and Religion. Although she is probably not the MOST knowledgable professor in the Religious Studies department, she is one of the most fun. Attendance is not absolutely mandatory but there are a bunch of short writing assignments you have to be there to turn in.

Lora is the best teacher I have had in college yet. She's very personable, truly cares and is very interesting. She's a wonderful teacher, and always makes things interesting. Besides being a great teacher, she's just an all around great person worth getting to know. Very admirable.

You won't find another teacher that cares about his or her students more. She told us exactly what was going to be on the final, helped us study for tests, had thorough and helpful notes, and was just a great teacher all around. Great lady.

Took the online class, and she was on top of everything. Emailed multiple times a week to make sure we knew what was due. Gave extra credit opportunities, and easy weekly quizzes that padded grades. Even let students make up work at the end of the semester for some credit.

Ok teacher, I didn't learn anything I didn't already know. I did'nt pay attention very much but still got a B. Her quizzes are extremely difficult and the exams are a bit tough. Overall I would not reccommend her as a teacher.

I took her online course and loved it! She was always on top of everything and really cared about the class and the students. Her video lectures were great and even if you're not religious the class is really interesting. I would recommend taking this class, I think it would be more engaging in person, but that's your call

Very easy class if you take it online. You have weekly quizzes that are basically just definitions, which helps your grade a lot. There's a couple of lengthy assignments but the overall class is very easy and laid back. I definitely recommend her class.

This was one of my favorite classes I've taken at MSU. Dr. Hobbs is amazing. She challenges and comforts all of her students simultaneously. This class has changed the way I look at the world and I would take all of my classes through Dr. Hobbs if I could.

She was fantastic. I wasn't sure what to expect going into a Gen Ed religion class but she consistently made the class interesting. She really has a heart for her students and what she is teaching. She also shows no bias toward any religion so I got a clear understanding of the basics of each of them. I learned so much in this course!

I took this class blended. She wasn't a hard grader, but your assigned multiple lectures and assignments each week, which can be time consuming. All tests are online, so as long as you take notes, it's easy to get an A on all the tests.

I took this class as a blended course. As long as you watch all of the lectures and take good notes you can make A's on the tests, because they are online. Make sure to attend class and actively participate in order to get full participation points. Lots of easy homework that will boost your grade if you do it.

Lora has got to be one of the best professors I have ever had. She is always willing to help students if they aren't understanding something or if they need something clarified. She really enjoys class discussions and getting everyone involved instead of doing boring lectures. There's a lot of busy-work homework, but if you do it, it's an easy A.

Hobbs is awesome. Good person and good teacher. Don't slack and you'll make an A or B. Gives out extra credit often, in the beginning of the year if you meet with her during her office hours for five minutes you get 5 free points off the bat. Do the homework out of the book and get good grades on quizzes and the class will be a breeze.

REL 100 online with Hobbs is a very good class. Her lectures are actually interesting and she knows how to present the material without making you fall asleep. There are a few papers in this class, but they really aren't very hard at all. This class is an easy A. Would take again.

Dr. Hobbs is an amazing teacher! She really cares about her students and wants them to do well. Some of the classwork is what feels like busywork but it's almost impossible not to get full points if you try. The tests require minimal studying, but make sure you know the terms!

It was also very easy to catch up because the class is easy and enjoyable. 5 quizzes, 2 tests, if you stay caught up on the lectures its an easy A. Participation blogs, up to 10 points extra credit! I LOVED her online class. she stands infront of a camera & gives lectures so it's super involved. The class is so easy and it's based on your perception of what you learn from her lectures on religion. The quizzes come from the textbook (it helps) and ALL tests are on quizlet. weekly blogs and occasional papers/projects. super easy grader and fun

I took the blended course and loved the class overall! Hobbs is a very straightforward grader, offers multiple extra credit opportunities, and makes the information easy to understand. Definitely would recommend

LOVED this class. First half of the semester, you learn about a religion over a week. Watch lectures online, read from the book, and answer study questions. Then on Thursday, you meet in class to discuss everything. Midterm is online, multiple choice and essay. 2nd half you work on a project where you interview someone. Final is a paper online.

Prof Hobbs's class made me switch my minor to religion. She's a great lecturer and easy to digest content. There are lots of quizzes (good or bad for grades, depending on your willingness to read the textbook.) Show up to class, read the assigned readings and you'll have an A. She's clear about what she wants in assignments.

Lora was such a great teacher! I had her for REL100 for my first semester and she made everything super easy to understand. Her lectures are great, always super interesting! It's very easy to get an A or B in her class, she explains everything very well. Tests are everything you learn in class, as long as you pay attention you'll do great!

Really great teacher! lots of little petty assignments that are easy and you can find them online but it just takes up time. lectures are good and pretty chill. have a lab project that sounds much harder than it actually is once you sit down and do it. IF YOU HAVE TO TAKE RELIGION TAKE IT WITH HOBBS!

Her online class is the best, and organized, easiest online class!!! I wish all of my online classes were like hers.

Two discussion posts every week, but besides that, the workload isn't awful. One big project where you have to interview someone or write a research paper.

This class is very doable, as long as you turn stuff in on time and you followed her guidelines she is a pretty easy grader. I would 100% take this class as a gen ed if you are needing to meet a requirement. I was nervous to take it online but it was really stress-free and easy to get done.

Professor Hobbs is hands down the best professor I have had at Missouri State. I added religious studies as a minor SOLELY because of how amazing my experience was my first semester of college in her course. I took women in religion with her as well and she was just as delightful! If you get a chance, take a class with her! You wont regret it!

Hobbs is a great professor. Took the class online and it was very easy. A few writing assignments, but plenty of time is given. She gives the full schedule before hand so it is easy to get ahead. She lets people make up missed test and offers extra credit. Her lectures are good and test are not difficult.

I loved Lora for this course. We met once a week, and had a recorded lecture to watch the only day. 4 exams, all multiple choice and on blackboard. A few papers, a few quizzes, and a few sets of study questions. She's a very sweet lady and wants students to enjoy the course and feel accepted regardless of religious beliefs. Highly recommend.

I loved taking this class from Lora! She provided many insightful lectures, comments, and interviews of women from different religions. If you're not a scholarly reader like me, she has outlines with questions that help you understand the readings better. She really encourages participation and to think outside the box!
