She's really funny and friendly.
She is wonderful. I would love to be in her class again.
She is extremely blunt and funny. She is very real--her stories kept everyone cracking up.
talked too much about everything but psychology
Funny, honest, and genuinely wanted to help students.

Dr. Jacobi is Hilarious!!!! No i mean literally! the whole class period is full of laughter. Kinda hard when it comes to test though. Have to study, and read your book! but overall...take her! she is very entertaining! hope this helps
She is extremely entertaining. She cusses alot though, so if it offends you I wouldn't recomend the class. She always tells funny stories to illustrate her point. And she definitely knows what she is talking about
She is absolutely the best professor I have ever had at SFA. She's down to earth, nice, EXTREMELY helpful, I was in her office all the time and she went over and beyond to help me!! She does cuss a lot, so be prepared, it's just part of her sarcastic humor! She's very intelligent. We didn't use book, self paced, & attendance required! I loved her!
She is the best teacher at SFA I've had so far. Learned a lot i would really recommend her
Very fun teacher! All notes are online. Tests are very easy and is so funny in class!! Glad i took her.
she is one of the best psych teachers ive ever had nxt to Dr. Foster. she is very down to earth, sweet, funny, and she is compassionate if you ever run into some trouble..i would advise ANYONE to register for her clas..i love this lady!!
Dr. Jacobi is an awesome psychology teacher. Attendance is not mandatory, but it will reflect your test grade performance. The tests are easy, as long as you read the powerpoints. She's great and she cares about her students. Also gives extra credit opportunities.
Dr. Jacobi is my favorite teacher at SFA, I highly recommend you take her! There's never a dull moment in her class. She always has interesting stories to tell regarding the subject. attendance is not required, but make sure you're in class they day she gives out test reviews because they are very helpful.
Awesome, awesome professor. I was always interested in her class. Her power points were a little out of order but it was easy to keep up with. I made a B in the class but I could have made an A. She's always wanting to help and goes out of her way to try to do that. Take her if u could. She's awesome. I loved her!
This professor is amazing!!! She has great notes (a lil out of order, but easy to clarify) and she makes sure to go in great depth to make you understand. She gives the most intresting stories to clarify even more. She is all about helping her students and going the extra step to help them achieve. She also is a very real teacher!
Dr. Jacobi is AMAZING! She is so helpful and so willing to clear up any misunderstanding. Her assignments require thought but aren't super hard. I've taken two of her classes and am signed up for two more! :D
Dr. Jacobi is the BEST teacher here at SFA. I've had her for two classes and as long as your show up for class read the chapters and study you'll do fine! She has the funniest stories to help bring the information to life! I highly recommend taking her if you have the opportunity!
I really enjoyed this class. Dr. Jacobi is a FABULOUS teacher! she keeps things interesting by telling stories and experiences of her own with the different psychological instances. I HIGHLY recommend taking her course!!
Dr. Jacobi's has the most effective teaching style at this university!!! Some of the other professors in the psychology department, especially Ludorf could use a lesson on teaching from Dr. Jacobi!!! I LOVE DR. JACOBI!!!
OMG THIS LADY SHOULD BE A COMEDIAN! MAKES US LAUGH LIKE CRAZY! She is VERY good @ teaching STATS! Makes it easy. TAKE HER! Its still math so may be a lil hard for those who dont like math. She grades easy. HW ssignment to help w every (12) chapter. DOWNSIDE: IMPOSSIBLE TO GET IN CONTACT W! VERY HELPFUL DURING CLASS THE SECOND IT ENDS, ITS OVER!..
..barely ever in her office hrs. Took a student a month to get advised. She said "im too busy to help you, ask the GA." Don't expect her help outside of class AT ALL. Can be rude at times. Makes you do pgs of math for 1 question all by hand instead of w the computer which most professors do. TESTS ARE TOO LONG FOR CLASS PERIOD.
4 tests & a final & 12 homework assignments. NEVER available to help outside of class not even once. 2 part test. One of definitions in lecture, the next was the math part in lab. TESTS WERE LONG! The whole class ran out of time on most tests even with an 1.5 hrs lab time.
I loved her! She's very funny! She likes to I gage the class! I didn't always pay Attention but she usually had my attention the entire class! She knows her stuff! And I believe she loves teaching it! If you can take her and you'll love it! SHE'S AWESOME! You'll love her! Super funny!
Awesome teacher! She is hilarious and makes the subject interesting. If you read along in the book, either before or after class, you'll do really good. She posts her powerpoints and other helpful worksheets. The tests are only easy if you are prepared and go to class.
She is so funny, seriously she makes me lol everyday! She knows her stuff and is pretty laid back. Her powerpoint are kinda out of order but its easy to figure out. Take her!
This was by far my favorite class! Dr. Jacobi is hilarious and she knows what she is talking about. She always has a story to tell you to relate to the topic of which yall are going over through. Her classs is not difficult at all, just study. I would recommend any one to take her class.
SHE LOVES COKE FROM MCDONALDS!She is very funny and keeps everyone laughing. She uses her own life experiences to help students understand lectures. I recommend taking this class. My grade would have been higher if I actually studied. But she's a very good professor!!!!!
Really great! I laughed till I cried almost every class, no joke! This course is mostly about memorization and understanding the principles of psychology, so it's not a difficult course. Dr. Jacobi just makes it more interesting and funny with her ridiculous stories(:
This teacher spent way too much time chatting about unrelated topics. She said she didn't have an attendance policy but if you missed a class she would give you the stink eye when you came back. I did great on all the exams but she gave me a 50 on the paper. I would not take her unless you plan on hearing all about her personal life & not about psy
I took 4 classes including research with her. She is an amazing professor who will jump through hoops to help you with class or beyond it. She may be hard to get a hold of outside class, but she always pulls through for you. One of the best profs I've ever had for class and for research. She really knows her stuff.
I freaking love her. Shes hilarious!!!
TAKE HER!!! She is so fantastic. She made me want to major in psychology just by watching her teach and get into it. You don't really need the book. If you have a friend, you can share. I didn't really use it unless I didn't understand. STUDY FOR THE TESTS. There is lots of memorization for materials but she is awesome. Go to class too.
She is hilarious. You definitely have to study for her test because their based off of scenarios. At first I hated her class because she had rules like a high school teacher. She definitely don't mind calling you out.
Ok. So do the extra credit research assignments and you will be golden. Take good notes and pay attention to things she points out and you'll get a good grade. Her class is really interesting and you can tell she loves what she teaches. She always is joking around and trying to get people involved in the lecture too, which is always good.
I loved Dr. Jacobi's class! She is so funny and cool. She is also a great teacher and does what she can to help you learn everything you need to know. She uses lots of interesting examples in order to teach her classes and it's obvious she loves her job and knows what she's talking about. I recommend her to anyone who needs a psychology credit!!
Dr. Jacobi is amazing. If you go to class and pay attention and read the materials, (and study), you will do well on her exams. She even gives you a list to follow to succeed - if you follow it you will do well. If you skip class and slack off, you won't do well. Great teacher - she makes the material really memorable.
Dr. Jacobi is a great teacher. When explains concepts in ways that make it easy to remember. She is super funny and uses great examples that make you remember the material. I would definitely take her again and recommend her to all my friends. She is the best prof that I have had (and I am not a psych major), but she makes me want to become one!!!!
This prof is awesome and really cares about her students. She is clear on the first day and I the syllabus that she doesn't bump up grades. You get the grade you earn. I got an A because she makes the material memorable and fun to learn. She tells U exactly what U need to know. I'm thinking of switching majors bc of her. She's the best SFA prof
She is awesome!!! She lays our exactly what needs to be done on the first day of class. She lectures in such a way that helped me remember the material. She is always willing to help. I went to her office for help and she was super helpful!
Shes a funny teacher, but the class and her teaching style is so boring. I can barely stay awake because of how boring she teaches. I wanted to minor in psychology but with how boring her lectures are im becoming disinterested in psych.
She was an awful teacher. She constantly get's off topic and unless you're good at psychology, you will need to work for it. If you need help she wont help you, you have to go to her GA. If you take her, expect to try to get a lot of outside help or you will fail her class. There also aren't many R-Points to obtain so you have to start early.
She doesn't necessarily count attendance but you will do better on tests if you go to class. Very very interesting and hilarious. Lecture heavy but they usually aren't boring. Puts power-point slides online. Read your book, make flashcards, study online material, you'll do fine. Gives homework assignments throughout year but they're easy.
This class was very frustrating at times but all in all, she makes sure you know what is expected of you. She assigns homework and a paper. You also have to spend a lot of time participating in research studies. She's funny, but very crude. She goes off topic a lot, but gives good examples that you can remember.
HORRIBLE PROFESSOR. i took her and ended up with a C. She was never here for her office hours. Don't take her
Dr. Jacobi is amazing and keeps students engaged. She was always in her office - the GA just has the exams that she encourages students to look over. All section of this class have to participate in research - but those are the easiest points. She is incredibly knowledgeable on all topics and she gives great and engaging examples. Best Prof ever!
Professor Jacobi is my favorite professor at SFA. She treats all students fairly and is super understanding . She won't change your grade, but gives lots of things that help and even helpful learning tips. In abnormal, the worst exam is worth less that the others so that helps. Participation is mandatory, but its my favorite class so I don't mind
Dr. Jacobi is hilarious! Your only grades for this class come from 4 Exams (70 points total), a Case Study (20 points), and Attendance (10 points). Overall, it's a really interesting class and Dr. Jacobi has even more interesting personal stories to share. I highly recommend talking PSY375 with Dr. Jacobi.
Dr. Jacobi is awesome. I love her class - it is my favorite class since coming to SFA (I am a junior). I wish I had taken her sooner - I am thinking of adding a second minor or changing my minor. She really understanding - you just need to talk to her before a deadline. She goes over the material that you need to know - you just need to listen!
Dr. Jacobi is a respected professor who does well at keeping your attention during lecture. She has tons of personal stories that can help you remember the criteria and are also hilarious. As long as you go to class and really pay attention you will pass, but READ THE BOOK. I didn't and I regret it.
Dr. Jacobi is hands down the best professor I have taken. Not only does she know her information, but she always has a hilarious story that makes the information memorable and relatable. She's a great professor and I highly suggest taking her. Attendance is mandatory and trust me you'll have to work for your grade, but it's worth it in the end.
She's very funny but honestly not a good teacher. She gets off topic all throughout class. Lots of online work. Hard to communicate with. Never available during office hours!!!!! relies way too much on technology.
She is a very funny person, but as a professor not so great. She gets off topic a lot in her lectures, and the textbook is online. So get ready to read a lot, and make sure you check it everyday because she changes the dates a lot on when things are due.
She was always very rude and called people out directly in class. She refused to allow us to use any electronics but she wouldn't post her slides on d2l so you had no way of taking notes in class because she goes so fast. This semester was also her first semester using Tophat and it WAS AWFUL. It had nothing to do with the test
Jacobi really cares about respect. That means putting your phones and laptops up and actually engaging in the class. The online textbook is a lot of work and it doesn't even help you with the tests much. You can make an A if you do the online homework and quizzes. Go to SI and study using quizlets. You will have to work for the grade you want.
Let me just say, we used an online textbook called tophat and if she continues to use it GOOD LUCK-listen to the other comments that mention it. She is funny so class is entertaining but she goes through content quickly and its difficult to keep up.
Dr. Jacobi is so funny. She made psychology so fun and interesting. She makes you want to come to class, and she uses really cool interactive text.
Dr. Jacobi was a very interesting teacher. But if you're sensitive or have some sort of disability, I would NOT recommend her. She is insensitive to those with mental disorders -- odd for a past psychologist. Also, her grading criteria was very confusing and at times I was unsure of what my grade was. Just pay attention and you will pass.
She's funny but goes through the lecture too fast and doesn't let you get online to copy them down. Tophat was a mess, you had to check when things were due because they would change, most of the content in the book wasn't on the test, a lot of reading. You have to pay attention in order to pass. Make sure you do your research points early!!
Super fun engaging lectures, the test are extensive in the information you're learning and some things on the test will only be talked about in class.
Dr. Jacobi is hilarious. She tends to go into stories BUT they do relate to the lecture and are really cool to hear. Her tests are straight from her powerpoints and the verbal notes so attendance is key. Also, she shows and tests on videos we watched in class. On final, she gave study guide online. 1 case study: WRITE EVERYTHING POSSIBLE.
I took Lora's class on Research many moons ago and felt my feedback should be heard. Unprofessional is putting it lightly. I paid very good money to take this class, and I expected more than a comedy standup hour. Insensitive and crass, she also singlehandedly got me banned from campus because I made a crass joke. Stay away from her.
Outside SONA hours were required. The professor was absent for most of the semester and we had three different substitutes which was very stressful to the learning process. Overall, I learned, but I did not enjoy taking this class.
Professor Jacobi was absent for most of the semester and we went through a few different subs, which made the class a lot more difficult and confusing. When Prof Jacobi was still there, there was a bunch of online homework and readings. Her lectures were pretty scattered and she got off topic a lot. She was OK but take someone else if you can.
I took her and she is very scattered brain and gets off topic and confuses you when talking about topics being taught. Highly recommend trying to get another teacher so your more successful in this course!
Ok, so first off, she is everywhere and anywhere except on topic. She is very scattered. She took the whole 50 minute class to go over 3 simple slides. She can tell a 20 minute long story about how Sally Sue and how her mom was crazy, but when someone has a question related to the material she will cut you off and say she needs to move on.
Dr. Jacobi is great! I took her for PSY 133 and I had a great time in her class. If you put in the effort and just do the readings and study for her tests, then you're gonna do fine on the tests. She literally tells you what will be on the test and give bonus points! I definitely recommend her!
Dr. Jacobi is such an awesome professor. At the beginning of the semester, she got a little off-topic sometimes, but after mid-term evaluations, she began to stay on topic more. This class was very engaging. Occasionally, she had games/exercises for us to play in class to help us retain the information easier. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!!!!!
Dr. Jacobi is awesome. If you don't know how to take a joke or your fee-fees are hurt easily, grow up & be an adult. If you PAY ATTENTION to thing she says. the most hilarious stuff comes out of her mouth. YES, lots of reading. YES, sometimes tangential. YES, sleep in her class & you'll get called out. She's respectful and CARES about students!
Dr. Jacobi really cares about her students and makes it known. Her class was always interesting and the test where very straight forward. All of the stories she tells relate to the topic and make the class interesting. You do need to pay attention and take notes. She puts all of the PowerPoints online too.
reading the textbook is mandatory for the assigned quizzes, but the test is directly from the powerpoints and textbook, so if you do read, youll do well.. she does a good job of using funny anecdotes to relate to concepts
She complains about having to do her job (making course material, posting lectures, etc.). The course material she did give us was rife with misspellings too, and she would guilt trip us for not reading it all on time. Not easy to get a hold of outside class. Lectures are fine, but wouldn't recommend her class (at least not online).
This is by far the worst professor I had who handled the pandemic. Not only does she continue to complain about the workload she has (i.e grading assignments) but has problems focusing and staying on-topic. Several tests and readings have several grammatical errors and a lack of professionalism.
this woman uses 2 websites and on the other one there is never due dates so it is pretty much a guessing game. she's pretty quick to respond to emails. but for me, she was very unhelpful when it came to me having problems in the class. we only had like 4 zooms the entire semester, and research papers that if she did not necessarily agree with fail
Overall an okay class. A bit overwhelming with all the TopHat assignments and reading plus the reading and lectures on D2L and attending zoom meetings during the week. We also had studies to participate in throughout the semester and had to earn a high amount of points in order to pass. Good class if you're organized and have it together.
Too much extra information was required to go over; if you don't read the modules on d2l, it will bring down your grade. Even though she uses Tophat for chapter modules and quizzes, the modules on d2l are the same thing... Super friendly professor but very disorganized.
Not a psych major? Do NOT take this class. The amount of online textbook reading AND D2L content reading that is assigned is ABUSE. She checks the amount of time you spend on each page in D2L. I'm a good student, but she was incredibly unhelpful and rude when I had a small issue with a grade. Information overload.
She was very rude in the zoom calls. Complained about having to do her job. I regret taking Social Psychology with her, I enjoyed the class and the material, I just did not like her.
Rude! Rude! I pay too much money for someone to be so rude with their commentary. Also a lot of work which i would be fine with if she had a better attitude.
Very knowledgeable in her field, but a poor professor.
This professor grades so hard that it feels impossible to do well on anything. The tests carry most of the overall grade and the other assignments are super difficult. The tests have contradictory answers and are super long. She took off points for simple things that should not be taken off for. Overall, simply not a good professor.
Get ready to read. Back and forth between D2L and Top Hat. It's basically the same thing!!! Either way she looks at how much time you spend on D2L. It's General Psych not BECOME a psychologist in a semester. Zoom calls last forever.
Terrible!!! Absolutely awful professor!
Bad professor don't take this class if not needed if it is the only class available wait till next semester to take this it's that bad
