she is the worst teacher ever. i didnt learn anything from her class.
She is an excellent teacher; the best math teacher I've ever taken. Her standards are high, but if you keep up with your work, you'll learn a lot and be very well prepared for the next class.
She gives lots of homework and is pretty difficult. Don't think you can skate through her class without working.
Lots of homework and quizzes, but she also drops some scores at end. She is very nice and helpful, but the class itself is just hard. Take trig 5 days a week, otherwise class moves too fast. But, she is an excellent teacher!
Took Stewart for Calculus. Very difficult teacher. You can NOT skate through her class. Expect 2-4 hours of homework every night, an dstudying for 2 full days before an exam just to pull a C. On the upside, every other teacher you take after this will be easy because you are so well-prepared.
She is not an easy teacher. Homework is a MUST. Can never miss a day of class or it will feel like you missed a week. Constantly gives surprise quizzes. She is always willing to help students during her office hours but be ready to be there everyday.
This woman is very smart (and Knows it). If you do not understand something she looks down on you. She picks males in her class to be her teacher’s pet and will not be willing to help at all if you don’t understand something. There are allot of good math teahers at CRC and she is NOT one of them.
She was one of the best teachers I have ever had and don't be fooled by lazy people who take her class and tell you she is bad. She makes you work for your grade which is a dieing thing in the education system. I would recomend her 100%.
HOMEWORK EVERYDAY, if u take this class, expect spending 2-3 hours a night for homework. tests/quizes arent that hard, she is very smart teacher, the hw actually helps you understand it more. dont be late to her class too much or she will say something, shes a serious type of teacher
This teacher is really into applications, if u love word problems take her for this class. She takes attendence everyday with a sign up sheet, HW everyday. Lecture are not taught through every step in writing but verbally. if you learn best this way, TAKE HER!!
If you want to pass a class without doing anything dont take her because you will fail like I did. HW everyday. Random pop quize on HW. She is not a "stupid" teacher, she wont accept BS. But if you DO want to learn the stuff than she is a very good teacher. Her teaching style is very good and clear. Many student seem to like her in class.
It was like impossible for me to get higher than a C in that class no matter how much I studied, once again take MARK HUNTER!
I had to drop after I missed a class I could not catch up but that was summer. I was getting a B but you get left behind. There are other teachers and it is worth adjusting your schedule.
You will learn EVERYTHING about this subject, and it sticks. I still remember everything she taught me in trigonometry. It is a lot of work though so be weary
LISTEN TO ME!!! First of Great teacher will teach you everything about Calculus, but there is such an incredible amount of work, it gets in the way of other classes! Not to bad mouth her but dont take her unless you going to be an engineer or mathmatician
She has "high standards"..so if you don't get it on your first time....good luck..you are on your own!!

Not very helpful to students who struggle with math.Better for high level math students.LOTS OF HOMEWORK!!!!!!!
She's nice, and she helps you understand, but she won't wait up for you if you're falling behind. If you DO fall behind, good luck catching up, cuz you'll have a couple of hours of homework EVERY night.
She goes at a very fast pace. She is helpful if you go out and seek her at her office. She gives about 6 tests a semester about every 2 weeks. There is no extra credit so if you fall behind just drop out and give up. She does drop 3 quizzes and 4 hw assignments at the end of the semester!
If you want to fight for a C take her. You will probably fail her class. There is no way you will get an A in her class.

She Goes at a very fast paste, and not to helpful.
She is not a good teacher, and she even mark my test wrong while i have the right answer, and i was trying to get my points bak...she said i changed the answer and try to seek some points from her..!! and she is the toughest teacher i ever met.
EXCELLENT math instructor. Assigns LOTS of homework. Grades very hard, tests have hidden tricks. She is very easy to approach and wants to help students succed. Most difficult yet best math class Ive taken yet. If your a slacker dont bother signing up. She definatly prepares you for the next class.
She is such a cool teacher. If you want to learn take her class...
she is a very good teacher, she is very helpfull all the time, se gives alot home work, but it will help you on the test..
She is a great teacher who assigns an unreasonable amount of homework. The main thing I disagree with is the fact that she assigns homework for the next chapter, the same night a test is due. So instead of studying for the test, you also have to do the next round of assignments while studying for the first set. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IN THE SUMMER!
I hate hate hate math. But Mrs.Stewart makes math easier. She's very helpful, very understanding, and if you make an effort she'll work with you. Lots of homework, but hey its a math class!
GREAT TEACHER, NOT TO BE TAKEN BY LAZY STUDENTS. YOU WILL FAIL. SHE HAS HIGH STANDARDS AND IS THERE TO TEACH..NO TO BABYSIT.
Had a terrible time with this professor. Assigns ridiculous amounts of homework. Grade weight is heavily reliant on test scores. Class started with 40 students. Ended with about 10.
THE HOMEWORK IS A LOT BUT FACE IT U GOTTA DO HW TO UNDERSTAND. SHE HAS A CERTAIN WAY OF DOING THINGS. JUS GOTTA KEEP UP IF U WANNA PASS. BASICLY SHE GOES OVR HW, THEN A QUIZ, LECTURE AND LOTS OF HANDOUTS. BUT OVERALL I THINK A GOOD TEACHER.
WOW she is the worst teacher ever. she gives vague directions on what she wants and she did not lecture everything was done from software. what we learned from the software was COMPLETELY different from the test and SHE GAVE so much homework that it was impossible to have a life! DONT take her class unless u want to fail. I learned absolutely nothi
Extremely knowledgeable but was too dependent on students teaching themselves via MyMathLab computer program. My dissatisfaction was the course program or syllabus stated there would be no lectures; the class was an internet course with an instructor to explain after you have taken the quizzes. As an audiovisual learner, I would prefer lectures
Took her for summer school. there was alot of hw and a quiz like everyday. but she gave us the answer sheet to study from and since she expects so much from us..i think thats why i got a good grade..test are a major part of your grade. I got a B and i hate really hate math
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!! she assigns a crazy amount of homework for you to do each night! you'll have individual & group quizzes every single day. if you don't want to have a life then go ahead & take her. other than that she's a good professor & knows how to teach but if you decide to take her, have fun keeping up with all the online homework.
Yes this class had alot of work but it was worth it at the end. I really enjoyed this class and this professor, I would take this professor again for 120 but it does not work with my time.
she explains everything really well
OMG! Never again will I ever take an online Math class...I strongly believ that her tests give me more anxiety and stress than I really need. not only are the test hard but they are extremley long...and then there are the "pencil and paper" assignments I hated it! Never Again!
I have such a hard time with math&she rely's heavily on the homework&independent learning, which is extremely discouraging for me to spend 4-6 hours a night trying to figure out what's going on. She is available to help you outside of class(which I took advantage of as much as possible)but I feel I didn't learn anything IN class. I was on my own.
In a classroom she would prob be a good teacher but online NOT SO MUCH. test are confusing. she doesnt follow the learning techniques of the online system used. the paper pencil assignments confused the course even more. If i completed all homework for the week it took at least 6hrs not including the quizzes after each section!! i advise STAY AWAY!
This is a decent teacher, however if you are taking other classes or work this is not the class for you..Have to spend so much time on homework. all homework done on line, plan to spend 4 to 5 hours (no Joke) a day on homework..Crazy............
Shes a paper teacherr just give you more handouts and doesnt explain anything!
Best math teacher i've ever had! she was super helpful and when she wasn't available her teaching aids were always willing to help in the math lab. I've never gotten an A in math before her class. There was a lot of homework but it wasn't unreasonable. You get what you put into it. I highly recommend her!!!
She is very smart and very professional. She assigns alot of HW. #3 classes a week, about 2-3 hours on a homework assignment. She is very clear and very helpful. I love this professor but she isn't easy. If you don't do your homework you have no chance to pass. some HW=D, most HW=C/B-, all HW and you pay attention then B or B+. but u do learn.
Ms. Stewart is a great teacher. She teaches the material well and does assign alot of HW but its a math class so it should be expected. All the HW is online using coursecompass. This was my second time taking the class cus the first time I assumned I knew it but I was wrong. Miss a little days as possible too. Overall its a good class and a teacher
MS. Stewart is an amazing teacher, very helpful but gives a lot of homework...atleast 30-40 math problems and assignment and anywhere from 2-3 assignments plus a quiz, plus few problems out of the book...she expects that you spend 5 hours a week outside of class on homework...keep that in mind.
Professor Stewart is a great math teacher, just be prepared to do the work. If you don't complete the homework, you will fail. No matter who you take math 100 from, be prepared to spend at least 5-8 hours a week on work outside of class. This is what it takes to learn algebra. it only gets harder from here. I would definitely take her class again.
Very by the book teacher, but can explain things well in office hours. Kinda strict and uptight but she just wants to make sure you master the material. Do the homework and get feedback on quizzes or the material itself will kick your butt. Try not to miss class or you might be playing catchup for a long time. Keep focused, it's calculus after all!
She assigns A LOT OF HOMEWORK! She tries her best to teach in the limited amount of time, but she moves on extremely fast. She doesn't have much time to explain because Calculus is A LOT of information. Her tests and quizzes are HARD. She grades VERY HARD. If you're interested in learning the material take her class. If you want a good grade don't.
professor stewart is a good teacher. she does assign about couple hours of home work per class, but its your benefit, she gives plenty of worksheets to help apply the lessona and get a better understanding. her study guides are just like the test, use her office hours they are very useful. be prepared to study at least 2 hours out of class
Pretty tough class. Teacher is helpful but her lectures are very complicated as well as her uptight personality. Nothing personal, but everytime I hear her voice I want to molliwop her in the face...
Algebra ONLINE: Professor Stewart's online course is EXTEMELY difficult. She assigns an unreasonable amount of homework, and assigns "pencil & paper" assignments that do not seem to be tied in with the eBook/online lessons. I recommend on-campus classes by Professor Stewart; NOT ONLINE.
I am lucky to have had her as my Professor. Yes her class is a bit harder and yes she does give a little bit more homework but i would definitely have taken her again! She gets her point across and makes things very logical. I got a 68.8% overall but i was constantly going to tutoring and her office hours and she passed me with a C.
I am lucky to have had her as my Professor for math 400. Yes her class is a bit harder and yes she does give a little bit more homework but i would definitely have taken her again! She gets her point across and makes things very logical. I got a 68.8% overall but i was constantly going to tutoring and her office hours and she passed me with a C.
Every day you come to class and there will be homework to turn in and also a journal entry. After you turn in both assignment, you take a quiz and that is what you do every day you come to class. So make sure you study a lot if you want to take her class.
Stewart is an excellent professor! It's true that she does give a LOT of HW, but you quickly find what good practice it is. She gives quizzes daily so that you can assess your progress and pinpoint weaknesses. I took her class twice and went from a D to an A; so as long as you work hard and get additonal help, you'll be fine.
This is my second time taking trig so it may have been a little easier because I had seen it before but I thought she was extremely helpful. Gives many clear, step my step examples. Lots of homework but she explains any questions on it. Tests are just like the homework.
Best math teacher I've ever had! I have never had a math teacher I could really understand until I had her. She truly cares about how you do in the class. I definitely recommend her! Even though she gives a lot of hw it makes you understand better.
Stewart is a really good math teacher. She loves Calc, and made the class fun. She assigns tons of HW and goes over problems students have trouble with. She can explain things really well; you WILL learn a lot in her class. However, her tests are difficult; there's no trick questions, but its just tough
This is not an easy class. Professor Stewart comes off as a bit strict, but she's a really nice lady. She's very helpful in class as well as office hours and she will make sure you understand the material. Lots of hw but it's all for your own benefit. Attendance is mandatory in order to learn. Take her class if you truly want to learn math.
Not an easy class. Do all your homework and know the material, you may have a quiz then next class. If you have questions ask and see her in her office hours. Don't fall behind. Tests are not difficult if you know the material very well. However, minor mistakes cost you lots of points. Be on time! Nice and helpful otherwise. Need to warm up to her.
Professor Stewart is freaking amazing!!! This was the first time I really understood Math and I can't believe it was through an online course. She is extremely organized and clear with her instruction. Advise: Do the Video reviews, these really help clarify things so that you can do well on the exams. I LOVE this Professor, totally RECOMMEND!!
Her class is extremely hard, but once you get a hang of her tests, it isnt that bad. I went from an F to an A test at the very end! Make sure that you work out everything neatly and do not forget any details. Even though I got the right answer most of the time, I was docked many points because of little mistakes in my work. She's a great teacher!
great teacher
Don't let her sweet little old routine fool you, this lady is not so nice when it comes to grades
Quit your job, drop all of your other classes, devote yourself totally to math 24/7 and you will be lucky to come out of her class with a C. Oh and that's only if you are an A student in all of your previous math classes. Tests are ridiculously hard and long and she takes off a lot of points for minor errors. You have been warned.
Professor Stewart was very clear in explaining every concept. She gives a lot of homework, but her tests are fair. Pay attention and do the homework and you will do well. I would take another math class from her.
She is stiff/old teacher and does not seem to understand that students may have a life other than her calculus class. She also gives very hard tests and if you are trying to transfer to UC I would not recommend.
Great teacher! She gives quizzes at the beginning of every class, but is very helpful to keep the info in mind and aids in memorization. HW is fair, not too much or little. Tests are not to hard. Do your Hw, show up to class and you will pass for sure.
She is the toughest teacher I have had even when with tutoring 4 times a week immediately after lecture. Her tests are twice the length of other professors and very laborious. I(as well of majority of class) could never finish an exam on time. Don't count on partial points even if you made a simple error, class grade avg was around 25%-45%
She is not a good teacher and if you end up with a C in her class count yourself as one of the lucky ones. Avoid!
She is so old and so boring with long lectures that drain all your energy. I would have a Starbucks plus a red bull before class, but would still fall asleep in her class. Her test are also very hard and she is not flexible at all when it comes to grading.
If you are trying to ruin your already depleting GPA, take her class. Math and numbers are your new bae and will consume your entire life for a semester and hopefully you will get a C.
Nice teacher (especially during office hours). However, her tests I felt were inconsistent with the hw. Her tests are also very long and for me personally, I had to rush my tests. Sometimes I did not recognize her problems from the test from the hw!A lot of tedious work (setting up is better). Simpson was better the second time around I took it.
She is going to make you master math. Although her tests seems to be a little bit different than hw but she is trying to make you apply what you have learned if you study hard and understand math, you will do good. I ended up with a B but learned so much that I feel sad that I was not able to take her class in 401.
She is absolutely the worst math teacher I have ever taken. Does not understand how to help students succeed in math.
Prodessor Stewart was extremely helpful in that if I had a question she would be more than willing to help clarify the topic. I can't say anything bad about her teaching style other than the fact that there are assignments galore; but it's a 5 unit class, so that is expected. As long as you do your homework, the repetition will help you learn.
Her lessons are not clear and I have to google most of the topics to understand. Her tests are extremely hard. She gives a lot of homework too. I would not take her as a teacher if I have a choice. I love the fact that we had no online work. I dislike mymathlab
Professor Stewart did a very good job teaching my Math 100 class for the Spring 2015 semester, despite the low lifes that sat in the back of the class and were a constant disruption to the class. The amount of homework will make your head spin, but the repetition really helps you learn the material. I would definitely take her again.
She is a really bad teacher and she makes your life revolve around her class. Put in a ton of time with tutors because she is not helpful at all.
The class is really hard and Stewart was not willing to help when I had questions. I put in 20 or more hours each week but still would fail her tests.
She does not explain things correctly and then she expects you to know it on the test. Her tests are also really long and difficult and basically impossible to finish in the time that you have. Don't waste as semester in her class.
She's the worst math teacher I've ever had. Even when I tried my hardest, she didn't give me partial credit for trying.
Her homework and quizzes relate to her test. She gives plenty of material to prepare you for her test. Her midterm relates to all the prior exams and her final is just on everything after midterm. She gives you all the tools to succeed.
She is very well prepared and her quizzes will prepare you for test. If you didn't like her you didn't try.
Prof. stewart is one of the best math teachers I ever had. expect lot of homework, quiz everyday but it will help you to prepare for tests . tests are hard but final will be easy. if you don't try, you will not pass.
She is the worst math teacher I have ever taken by far. Her tests are crazy hard and long and even if totally devote your life to her class you will not make it. I was hoping to transfer to UC Davis, but now.....
Here expectations are totally ridiculous with long hard tests that you can't possibly finish and do well on. Also her communication skills are not the best. I ended up dropping but best to avoid.
I took Prof. Stewart for my cal 1 and 2 last year. She was very nice and the materials were well-organized. I dont know why there are so many negative review for her saying that the tests are too hard. As long as you listen to the lecture, do the hw and put your effort into this class, passing with an A shouldnt be a problem. BTW I got A+ for both.
I got 91% before final, and then, the weird final dropped my grade to B. Tough grader and strange tests, final.
Stewart is the worst math teacher I have ever taken. She does not explain the concepts but then she expects that you will be an expert on the test. Never again!
I think she is one of the best professores in crc. Her lectures was so clear and it is easy to follow. Even though she gave us quizzes everyday, but it is really helpful. If you do well for quizzes then you would be fine for the tests. If you understand the basic knowledge then i have no doubt that you will love her teaching style
Ms. Stewart was tough but fair. Work and you will succeed. The class is not for the weak at heart or the slackers. However, if you work, you will be able to go on with absolutely no problem at the next level.
Professor Stewart is a great professor but she expects A LOT!! She explains concepts well but she is a tough grader. No online homework, homework is done on paper. Textbook is needed but can be found online. Also expect a quiz EVERYDAY!! Overall, she is great except for the fact of the tough grading and daily quizzes!!
While she seemed nice at first, she turned out to have a bad attitude as the semester went along. Tons of work, problems with communication a bad result. I am going to retake the class from a better instructor.
Professor Stewart is one of the best prof at CRC. I was confused at beginning whether to take her class or not but I gave a chance to it and it end up very well. She expects hard work from her students, she gave us quiz everyday, the tests are not super hard and the HW are done by Mathlab which is very helpful. I will retake her class in future.
Very frustrating to put in an A effort only to retake the class. It is very difficult to be successful in her class.
Alright. In the beginning she's bad. Quizzes almost every day, tons of homework, first exam is 2 weeks in. BUT she gets better. Less and less homework, gets funnier, maybe a little lenient on tests. Totally gives partial credit so you won't bomb it if you miss a little. I wanted to drop the class at first but stuck through and I'm glad I did.
Challenging but do-able. Lots of homework in the beginning. Honestly a crazy amount. Many quizzes too. Exams weren't too tough as long as you did the homework that was generally more than enough to prepare you for the section exam. She's a very helpful professor and absolutely brilliant. Will definitely take again!
The semester starts out with a lot of homework. Quizzes (many were group) at beginning/end of every class (get to class on time!), and by week 5 they're staggered to make sure you retain information. Stewart is approachable, very willing to re-explain concepts/problems, and has a dry sense of humor. Easy to follow lectures, fair exams.
I love the way she teaches, it is really easy to understand
Lots of homework, but it accounts for a small amount of your grade and she only grades 4 random problems from each assignment. A lot of quiz's as well, but again, doesn't account for a whole lot. We had 4 exams and a final that are weighted substantially, so as long as you study, you will be great. Utilize the SI tutor as well if possible.
She's a really good professor and has plenty of office hours. Will still attend to you outside office hours. Would definitely take her again. I think her quizzes every class period are very helpful, and they are not heavily weighted. There is a lot of homework but you don't have to finish all of it, and it's only 5% of your total grade.
Professor Stewart is great at what she does. She does have a lot of homework assigned but it isnt weighted very heavily. Lots of exams in 335 and they are weighted pretty heavily. She give a lot of quizzes (not weighted heavily) and handouts. My stack from 120 and 335 is about 8 tall. Overall great teacher and Im sad I cant take her for 370.
Fair, straightforward, clear, approachable, and funny. There are a lot of quizzes, but they don't affect your grade much, and will benefit you a lot, trust me. Great teacher, but Calc is still Calc, so work your butt off and you'll do well in Stewart's class.
Prof. Stewart is one on the most talented and amazing teachers I've ever had. She is hilarious and puts everyone in a good mood. She helps me and keeps me focused. Definitely would again!!!!
Professor Stewart is truly passionate about building strong foundations for advanced mathematics classes. If you're going on to more challenging courses and want to be prepared she's a great choice. If you are just trying to get a passing grade and fulfill a basic requirement get ready to work it's challenging and rewarding aka brutal and glorious
Professor Stewart is a great teacher. I feel she just needs to update her assigned homework problems. I found myself doing itreleavant problems sometimes. She is also a tough grader. The reason why I liked her class so much is because it pushed me to my limits and made me overall a better student.
If you have the choice to take another professor, take another professor. Professor Stewart suffers from a complex she has developed from decades of feeling patronized in an industry that is male dominant. This has resulted in her making her courses exceptionally hard, to prove the world that she is indeed smart.
She is amazing. I really learned a lot in her Calculus 2 class. I suggest getting a study group bc it is a little rigorous, but this IS calculus. If you take her you'll be set for MATH 402 or sure. You can tell she's still passionate too which is a major bonus.
Professor Stewart is an amazing professor, she actually cares about how prepared you are to move on to the next class. This class will prepare you for future courses, but if you want an easy class, then theres probably easier professors to find. Shes willing to drop a test so that always helps.
She'll prep u for higher math class. Tons of HW and quizzes, but r not heavily weighted, act as feedback. Good lectures, answer any ? related to math. won't make u fell stupid, truly cares bout students. don't skip class, do ur hw, take quiz and u can drop 1 test. Math major? take her! she's good! lots of handouts so get a big binder :D
Really nice teacher but I took 335 because I was just trying do little bit higher math for my application to US and get accepted. But this made me look stupid. I used to study for more than 15 hours work for this class but still it didt improve. You have to memorize everything. If you do all problems miss one thing in exam you wont get any points
Very fluid lectures and rigorous. Plenty of homework problems everyday, but she will grade only a few problems at random. Dont stress about tough ones bcuz she reviews them in class, so get most of it done and understand the material. Short quiz everyday. She drops the two lowest HW and quiz scores before each exam, so dont screw up > 3 times.
One of the worst instructor I have ever taken, she is honestly bad at explaining her own lessons , she doesn't allow you to use calculator on the quizzes ,tests, even not in mid term so if your weak at calculation god bless you
I have no clue why such instructor have high rating. took her for math 335, and regretted. I pass all my math classes with A, but this was the only class that not only I didn't learn anything from it, she also made me forget concept that I already knew. I wouldn't recommend talking her to anyone .
Good professor, but she can be very condescending
Ready to fail and lose hop then take her. she doesn't care about you. she gives you over 50 problems of homework but she grads only four of them. If you did right you get points if not you get f. if you get about 99% answer and miss one single thing then you get zero. stay away from her.
horrible teacher.
First time I had to drop a class because she was worst professor I had to drop it. Other wise I will fail her class. she grads very tough. I like that she gives a lots of homework but she has to grads most of it not only four problems.
Thanks to her i survive my horrible precal prof. Gave u a solid math foundation 4 future class. Be open minded bout her stone face, do hw by urself, put real efford in learning math and pass da class. Math's tough and she teach u to survive it. She's one of few prof that actually teach math, so take her before she retires. She's a grandma now
She's a great professor, she is challenging and will make you work for your grade. Thank to her classes I was able to finish my ME degree and wouldn't have done it without her. She really cares about you, go and talk to her during office hours or after class, always ask questions during class. Thank you professor :)
Hands down one of the worst professors I have had in my entire time going to college. NEVER TAKE HER.
Blatantly does not teach all the required materials, assigns homework on information that was never taught. Expects you to know information never taught in previous courses. One of the most awful professors out there.
If you want to spend 6 hours a night on homework with over 80 problems a night take her. She doesnt teach well and exspects students to know material she hasnt went over yet. Very condescending. You need to know precalculus going in to do well. Also quizes everyday and tests every other week. If you have another math prof to choose from take them.
Quizzes everyday, homework that you can hardly keep up with if youre taking any other classes. Also she likes showing off by putting hard question in the quizzes. The only people who might do good in her class are those that already took calc in high school. Shes about to retire and doesnt care. Dont waste your time.
Calculus is hard. Calculus with Stewart is even HARDER! There are daily quizzes and tons of HW. Her method of teaching can easily overload students. The lectures are not clear and you are expected to really teach yourself. I would also note that she once bragged in class on how rare it is for students to receive an "A" on any of her test.
Dont take Stewart, her class isnt worth it. Shes a really bad professor with really hard Tests. No matter what, even if you have to drive an hour to a different campus, do yourself a favor and dont take her. Even for the people who think this is the only class that fits their schedule, if you cant go somewhere else, take calc next semester.
I did really well in Pre-Calc (received an A), but somehow had to drop this class because I was failing. Daily quizzes that were hard for no reason, complicated exams, and she was very picky about answers.
Stewart is what I would categorize as the average math professor. She's not great, but not bad either. She's ok. She explains math well and expects that you know the material from prerequisite classes. She does things I wouldn't consider necessary like deriving every formula we use, etc. The HW and tests sometimes don't reflect what's been taught.
She expects you to already know this stuff and tells you if you dont know them then you need to drop the class and take a lower math class. Quizzes everyday . Wants you to do it her way although you learned it a different and easier way. Do not take her , youll end up regretting it.
Professor Stewart was an amazing professor. She goes over some homework problems and her tests are similar to the homework and quizzes. Expect quizzes almost everyday before lecture. She's difficult but is straight foward with what she expects from her students. She understands math is hard but encourages her students to work harder for their grade
Professor Stewart is now retired. Calc 2 is hard, but she explained the material well. She expected students to study and encouraged questions. She assigned a lot of homework, but you could do half of it and still get full credit. Tests were a huge part of your grade. Quizzes were given almost every day. Overall, she was a great professor.
Prof Stewart is funny and amazing. Too bad she no longer teaches. She was willing to help students in class, lab and office hours. She made silly jokes during lecture. Class consisted of a lot of homework, quizzes, 4 exams and a comprehensive final.
