He is the most cocky professor I've ever had. He once threatened our class that if we did not stop talking he would start yapping on his cell phone while we were doing our exam. If you read the course pak and have read it well you'll get a good mark. He is pretty easy but comes off hard. He is pretty funny.

It's mandatory to attend all his classes since pretty much everything you need to know for midterms and exams... are only taught in class. He is the most interesting profs at MRU, I never dosed off in his class! You are expected to be on time and don't ever use your phone!

Lorezno is a fantastic teacher. Go to class, listen and participate and you will do well. Honestly, it's as simple as that. I did not use the textbook, but he does refer to case studies in it a couple of times. So you're best off to share with a friend and split the cost.

He's extremely helpful and very clear on what he is expecting. He does a lot of class discussions rather than just copy and pasting things from the text book onto a power point. Make sure you catch when he's talking instead of worrying about whats in the text book because his exams are based off of EVERYTHING he says in class.

He has a different method of teaching, talking in class and gathering thoughts from students and writing it on the board 95% of the time rather than powerpoints. I didn't get any feedback on my assignments and he would take up to a month to even give grades out. The class was very enjoyable and I liked the amount of class participation but he was not always very clear and sometimes came across as mean.

Lorenzo's lectures were AMAZING! I looked forward to going to every class. Very light homework load only two assignments and the final. Participation is encouraged during lectures. You must show up to every class and take detailed notes to be prepared for the final exam.

Lorenzo is a bit intimidating during the first few classes but you eventually just get used to it. He is great at lecturing and always challenges students to answer sometimes difficult questions. Coming into his class with knowledge of the law and legal terminology is definitely an asset but not required by any means.

Lorenzo's feedback is very minimal. Luckily, assignments are not the focus of the class. Lorenzo chooses a current topic to lecture on every week and provides VERY insightful questions. I never dreaded being in Lorenzo's class. He could've easily become a millionaire on wall street but chooses to use his political and economic skills for education.

Honestly, an easy class to get an A. Great GPA booster class and least amount of work to have during online. 2 assignments which are really easy + a debate. His class is sooo boring was more background noise. You can skip as I didn't talk once in class and got 9/10 for class participation.

These lectures are always my favorite. As for the online schooling he made it very easy and every answer for the midterm/final was directly from his lecture notes that he posted for students use. You're only marked on 4 things.... easy none the less. Highly recommend Lorenzo hes very respected and he gives you a different perspective on everything.

Unlike other comments on here, I believe if you actually engage in his discussions, you may actually learn quite a bit. Also being graded only by a few things was fine because the content requirements are clear. He breaks down every students answers in class which motivates students to engage even more.

Professor Petrin is the last of his kind. In a world full of ideologues, he is the voice of reason to students. There are way too many profs pushing their agendas, so this class was a breath of fresh air. Clear on expectations for assignments and grading. Intriguing and engaging lectures. Will improve public speaking skills. The expectation to have APA citations in your paper was clear. In-fact, he let students that did not use APA citation a chance to resubmit their paper without losing marks. Most professors would not allow that kind of lenience.

Best at MRU! He cares what his students think, and it feels as though he tries to learn from his students while he is teaching. The debates are super interesting, and so is every class. Classes are all discussions of real world subjects and problems, and he encourages students to think for themselves. I will be trying to take more classes with him!

Attendance is mandatory as some of the topics are NOT on the lecture notes he provides on D2L, otherwise if you pay attention in class and do the assigned readings you should be fine.

The debates in this class are amazing! Lorenzo is skilled at engaging students and is open-minded. I wouldn't hesitate to take another class with him.

Professor Petrin was engaging, and insightful. He taught well and his lectures were always knowledgeable. He would engage the class in the lectures and debates. He is a great Professor.

Lorenzo was very intimidating at first but he is super caring of his students and their success. He gives engaging lectures on current topics.

Lorenzo's class has been awesome! His lectures are wholesome and very honest. He teaches us to not trust everything we see! However, Lorenzo's grading seems a little difficult and I had a hard time understanding what materials I need to study for his quizzes. Overall, there were two essays to write one of which was a group essay. Great lectures!

Amazing professor. Cannot say enough good things about Lorenzo. He really teaches students to see all sides of an issue and truly cares about what we are learning. I was intimidated by him at first, but he's actually a caring person who just wants you to succeed. Pay attention, participate in class discussions and you will do well.

I have Professor Petrin this semester his lectures are so entertaining and he is so knowledgeable and fair marker his class is a bit stressful since there is a 30% debate. the other thing is that you need to read the readings he posts every week in order to engage in class. overall this class was amazing and I recommend taking this class with him

Amazing prof. Firstly, there is no midterm or final for this course. He is caring and actually cares about the students. A flexible professor. He is not a hard marker at all. He loves creativity. Very knowledgable as well (ask him about any event, he'll know about it). Take a course with him for sure.

Lorenzo is an impeccable prof. On day 1 of the course, I was concerned as we are very different in "ideology"; but this difference was great for learning. Lorenzo is opinionated but educated and is willing to engage in back-and-forth conversations. Extremely flexible marker. If you are caught up on recent events; this class is for you!

Lorenzo is one of the best professors I've ever had, and his lectures genuinely changed my opinion on a variety of important topics. he is extremely knowledgeable, and, while definitely opinionated, consistently argues both sides of an issue and is open to back and forth. Relatively easy marker, but showing up to class is mandatory.

Lorenzo is probably one of the most open minded and intellectual profs i've ever met i legit haven't skipped a single class cuz of how enjoyable he makes his lectures and how he talks about issues that nobody else talks about Love this guy!

Petrin was super chill. He has interesting lectures and plans them based on what's going on in the world. He genuinely wants to help his students so try to talk to him/email him if you need help. Lokey intimidating at first but he is really funny despite being serious 24/7. Prepare to be marked on a debate though!

Taking a class with Lorenzo is the best thing u will do for yourself. As someone who HATED current events I never skipped a single class because his way of teaching actually made sense, and he talks about stuff you have been wanting to be taught abt your entire school career. He is very opinionated but truly cares about spreading knowledge.

Lorenzo is great, super opinionated but very encouraging of in class discussion so don't take him if you aren't open to different ideas. Nothing really posted online so attendance is super mandatory, few but heavily weighted assignments, and a debate instead of a midterm worth 35%. Hes intimidating at first but super chill once you chat with him.

I genuinely believe that you are not a real person if you don't enjoy Mr Pétrin as a teacher. So refreshing to have a professor that doesn't push political agendas on you. Every prof can take a page out of his book, best teacher I've ever had.

He's very informative and a good prof! Very little projects are due for this course and he is an easy marker if you follow the criteria!

Only offered a hybrid course; 1 lecture plus 1 module per week. Lectures were very interesting; participation really matters. Wish there were more lectures. There is a group research project and an in-class debate, plus an individual essay. Difficult to concentrate in class as he is so mesmerizing.

Classes are graded on very few (but heavily weighted) assignments- clear guidelines. Fair grader, but not easy.Unlike a lot of lectures at MRU, his are actually very intriguing as a university student. Participating in class isn't mandatory, but intellectually stimulating. He won't sugarcoat lecture content/expectations, but he is still very kind.
